Back camera does not focus on Iphone 5s, running ios 8.1?

My back camera does not focus on my iphone 5s, it worked fine yesterday, today it does not work. The camera lens is clean. The front camera works fine. The camera will not focus in the Instagram app either. I tried restarting the phone and resetting it but that has not fixed the issue. I will try restoring it but i just wanted to find out if anyone else has the same problem and any solution? thanks

I don't know why the camera on my E5 doesn't focus well. Cause when you usually point at something, the focus always starts to ... focus, but this doesn't. At all. Am I missing anything, cause it can't be this bad, right?

E5 camera does not focus, the quality of images is very low and have jagged edges. Though E5 has 5 megapixel camera, the images are no match to the images of my 2 megapixel - N97.
Nokia should have rectified this problem before releasing it. It must recall these mobiles and fix the problem. Will they?

Camera does not focus

My camera worked fine yesterday, but today it won't focus. Any ideas? I cleaned the lens with my camera cleaner and also tried banging it on my hand as suggested in other posts. I am past the one year warranty and I am not due for an upgrade til September...

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

ICal calendars not syncing with iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2
I'm using iCal on my MBP running Mac OS 10.6.4
I have a MobileMe account.
Never had an issue with calendars syncing with the iPhone previously.
I am using MobileMe Calendar Beta. This now displays my calendars in iCal under my MobileMe account name (eg. [email protected]) rather than the 'On My Mac' section that it use to.
I have five separate calendars in iCal on the Mac all named appropriately (eg. Work, Personal etc.) and all that appears on the iPhone is one calendar named 'Calendar' with no events in it??
I've used MobileMe (.Mac) and iPhone syncing for years and have them set up as I always have.
Does anyone have the same issues? Does anyone have any constructive advise?

Wendy G. : Click the Magnifying glass at the top right of your monitor and type in "iSync" - when it appears in the list of found items - click on it. After iSync opens - Select the Preferences from the iSync file menu and then Click the Reset Sync History button.

Wendy G. : Thank you! Please click the Apple logo and open the system preferences. Click the MobileMe icon and click on the sync tab and the advanced button. Click the "Reset Sync Data" button. Choose just the data you want to sync from the list. Make sure the arrow is pointing the right way (from the Mac to the Cloud) and select "Replace".
Wendy G. : Also, Devendra, do you currently have the software update 4.0.2 on the iPhone?

Wendy G. : No, please delete, the data will merge fresh from www.me.com, which is what we want!

Reminders notifications not working on iPhone 4s running ios 8.1.1

Help!
Suddenly reminder notifications are not working on my iPhone 4s running ios 8.1.1. Have tried restarting phone, turning off notifications and then turning back on again etc to no avail.
Can anyone help or does anyone know an alternative app that might do the trick.

Had this resolved by a very nice Apple bod. I ended up doing a full factory reset again. It worked this time as there is now ios 8.1.2

Notes from My iPhone 4 (Running iOS 5.1.1) Sync as Blank Files in Mail on 10.6.8

I have a perplexing problem that I have not seen discussed anywhere. With my iPhone 4, running iOS 5.1.1, syncing notes in Mail results in a stange blank Notes document appearing in the Notes sidebar in Mail. The Notes look like a yellow sheet of ruled paper, as they do on my iPhone, but they open to reveal no information other than their names.
Once opened, they disappear from my list of Notes, and upon the next sync via USB cable from my iPhone to my Mac, the notes also disapepar from the phone. When opened in Mail, the blank and useless no-longer-a-note Notes will not close unles I quit Mail. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. In Mail, I've tried both listing the Notes in the Inbox, and as their own separate group. Neither work.
The Notes never synced well with any of my iPhones, and are a real pain now. I've taken to doing what I did before the notes were syncable (in Tiger), and enter items in my Address book so that they last through syncing. I've also trashed the Mail .plist file and reconfigured Mail, but that had no affect.
Has anyone encountered this issue? It is beyond frustrating, particulalrly because Mail deletes the Notes. Thanks for any feedback. ;-)

Same here. It is a major flaw to have the sync process permanently delete material without any user input or notification.

Spotlight does not work on iphone 6 with ios 8.1.2

Since a few weeks the spotlight search does not work anymore on my iphone. I tried removing all subjects in the setiings menu and adding them again.

No, it should work with the iPad. It's not a matter of what version of iOS is on the device.
The card reader has never been compatible with any iPhone. It is compatible with iPads.

See if it helps to delete the firmware file and download a new one:
Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)
iTunes uses "ipsw" files to restore your iPod or iPhone. If those files are unusable, then try deleting them, renaming them, or moving the file to a different directory. This will cause iTunes to download a new copy of the IPSW. When a restore issue is specific to a user, it is likely due to an unusable .ipsw file. If removing the .ipsw file does not resolve a user-specific restore issue, then the issue is caused by other user-specific security software settings or iTunes preferences. Creating a new user will also cause new .ipsw restore files to be downloaded in the new user. You can find the ".ipsw" files in these locations:

~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
iPad
~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates

HT5538 iMessage not activating on iPhone 5 running ios 8 after three days of trying.

Phone number dimmed out under "you can be reached by iMessage at" but no number under "start new number from".

If you are getting charged for iMessage activation, it makes me wonder if you are using a supported carrier. Supported carriers do not charge for the SMS to activate iMessage. It could be your carrier does not support iMessage. Also, the final step in the troubleshooting document is to contact Apple Care. Are you saying that you have contacted them 3 or 4 times, since you tried the steps that many times?

My new Nokia E 5 does not focus well, HELP!

Hey all I have bought Nokia E5 just couple of weeks ago. Camera does not focus well and the pictures are not clear. 3.2 MP Camera of my nokia N93 was alot better than its(E5) 5 Mega Pixel. Nokia should sort this out, they should have checked it before introducing in the market. I want NOKIA to sort this out OR REPLACEMENT!!!!! Can any one help me with this?

I don't own an E5, but assume you know its camera uses a different focusing technology than most other Nokia phones, EDoF (Extended Depth of Field)? IPhone 4S camera will not focus

My iPhone 4S camera is not focusing, it is the camera on the back. One time I tried to take a photo of a document on paper and it just wouldn't focus on the writing, I turned my phone off and on and then it seemed to be working and focusing again. I tried turning it off and on but still no luck, a friend told me it was because of the 6.0.1 update that it wasn't focusing but I'm not sure.
