Back Cover On Treo Pro

I just bought an unlocked Treo Pro. I have followed the instructions by pressing the lower right corner to release the cover. It's really hard to get the cover off. Am I missing something?

View pdf on Treo Pro

I receive pdf documents created by Oracle pdf creator and the Adobe Reader version 2.5 supplied with the Treo Pro opens blank pages. If I open them on my pc and resave them using Adobe Acrobat Pro then transfer them back to the Treo Pro I can view them fine. I presume this is an issue with the Oracle pdf creator but there is nothing that I can do about that. Does anyone know if any third party pdf viewer software will open these files?

Not "the" Oracle, Oracle the mainframe operating system.
It comes up as PDF version 1.1 (Acrobat 2.x). But I can open it fine using my pc version of Acrobat Pro. Then if I save it from there and send it back to the Treo Pro I can open it fine on the Treo Pro. It also increases from the original 3559 bytes to 6702 bytes and becomes PDF version 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x). Maybe Acrobat LE can't cope with version 1.1 files? I will create a version 1.1 file and try it and let you know.

Pop battery cover off, screen fails on Treo Pro.

Second time this has happened, I apply barely enough to remove the cover and the screen fails. Any reason why the Treo Pro would do this? A soft reset clears it but still weird nonetheless.
When I mean fail, the entire display is blank but the keyboard responds. Also still getting the infamous lag on bootloader problem. Is this normal?
P.S. The lower left corner of my LCD, about six pixels usually, turns white and has to be reset occasionally by showing a white screen for a while.

I have a blank, white, empty screen and support could not tell me what's going on or what should I do. I think I got a wothless product. Throw it in the garbage and get an Iphone or a chinese phone.

Space button on Treo Pro (sprint) takes me back to Home

Hello,
I just had an odd thing happen yesterday. When I looked at my phone, some settings were changed - my digital clock display for time got set to analog. I switched it back thinking it wasn't a big deal. Anyway later when I try to text, every time I hit space after s set of letters it will exit Messaging and take me back Home. I can press space multiple times, but if it comes after I start typing any letters, after the 3rd letter, it will exit. I also tried the transcriber and other input methods and it does the same. So somehow the Space key in messaging has been changed. I tried a battery pull and it didn't resolve the settings.
Is there any way to resolve this by not having to Hard Reset?

Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums. Unfortunately the only option here is to do the hard reset. Be sure to sync first as this will totally remove all data from your device. If you need instructions go to this link.

How do I get Internet Explorer back to Normal View on my Treo Pro

I have the Treo Pro through Sprint. I switched by Internet Explore to full screen view. I used the 5-way button to scroll to the top and to the bottom and the address bar does not show up. What do I do to get it back to normal view.

MacBook Pro (mid 2010), won't turn on if back cover is on?

If I try and boot my Macbook Pro with the back cover on, I get a flashing question mark folder.
If I remove the back cover and boot, everything is fine, bots up perfectly...
Could this be some kind of short, I'm totally confused...
Any ideas...?

Macbook Pro only starts with back cover open

My macbook was not detecting it's internal hard drive and therefore wouldnt boot any OS. I carry my macbook with me often when im on my bicycle so I thought maybe an internal connection was loose.. so I opened it up and made sure everything was snug. I turned it on to make sure it worked and everything was fine -- --- until I screwed the back cover back in. It shows the same error now ( cant find my hard drive ). Why is this happening?? Would very much like to use my macbook without all its internals showing. If anyone could help me with this it would be really appreciated.

I loaded disk utility from the internet recovery option (which was my only option) and disk utility could not find anything besides the image that it was running on.

I would look very carefully to see if there is anything that seems to be 'hanging' when you orient the MBP in the correct direction. Perhaps electrical tape in the right locations may be a temporary fix. A genius bar visit is still the best option.

Poor reception on Treo Pro

My wife's Treo Pro gets terrible reception in places where the reception on my Palm Pre is fine. Is there anything she can do to improve reception and stop dropping calls? What is the latest firmware/software that she should be on?

Has your wife had sprint service for a long time? If so Sprint may need to do a network reprovision on the account. If that does not resolve the issue it could be that the OS or the hardware is not correctly working. If it is the OS a hard reset should fix the issue. If not the device needs to be replaced.
The device had no updates out for it. Also to be sure this is a Sprint device correct?

Treo Pro locking on incoming call

My Treo has the habit on "locking buttons and screens" on incoming calls. If I don't answer quickly, nothing works anymore and the call is abandoned. Quickly means less then 10 seconds!
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
I've went through all settings, but nothing seems to prevent this from happening. I have the impression it's getting worse.

Be sure that your SIM card is updated for 3G, also that your network settings is been updated as well. The network settings is something you would need to talk to your carrier about. The term to use is called reprovision. Basically they remove your account from the network and add it back in with updated settings and if the setting where correct but it should resolve any other issue like if the settings were corrupted.
If you do not want to talk to your carrier or this does not resolve your issue the next step is to hard reset the device.

Unable to get Data Connection on Treo Pro after Flying (Sprint)

I got my Treo Pro a few weeks ago and have really had no issues. It has been a great phone, but I just ran into an issue I cannot explain.
I had to fly from Mpls to Miami and put my phone in "airplane mode" when the flight started. When I landed I took the phone out of "airplane mode" and was able to get voicemail and make calls. However, when I tried to get email or open a browser session the phone kept giving me an error. It was trying to dial #777 to begin a data session (I think) and said it was unable to make a connection. I removed the battery and forced the phone to reboot and everything work just fine.
Someone I traveled with suggested I give it some time to "sync" up with the network, so on the return trip I just let phone continue to try and establish a session for about an hour. After an hour with no email I got frustrated and rebooted the phone... again everything worked just fine. Am I going to need to reboot this phone every time I travel? Is there something I am missing here?
Is anyone else seeing this? Is it a Sprint Issue? Please help. Thanks in advance.

That's strange and I've never heard of this issue. I usually don't jump to this method of troubleshooting right away but I do not have any other idea to resolve this issue. Try to do a hard reset on the device. A hard reset will erase all data on the device and restore settings back to default. Be sure to back up all data on a computer to Outlook via Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). For further information and instructions on hard resets please visit kb.palm.com and look up article number 43146 in the solution id search field.

Hide SIM contacts on Treo Pro???

I just got a Treo Pro and cannot figure out how to hide the SIM contacts after I sync. I used SIM manager to import all of my contacts so I can assign tones/pics, etc. and now I have duplicates in my contacts. Is there any way to hide the SIM contacts from the list? Thanks in advance from a newbie!

There is no setting to hide SIM contacts on the device. If this is something you do not want you would need to pick either the handheld or the SIM card and delete them from that location. Honestly I would keep them on the phone and sync them to Outlook where you can keep a back up there if you need to.

No sound on Treo Pro after bootup

Hello all,
I'm having some problems with my Treo Pro. It's got no audio.. eg with an incoming call, no ring. When I dial out, I cannot hear the call being made or the audio when they answer. I can use the phone with the Treo Earphones installe but still no ring.
I've reset the phone back to factory, still no change. Even restored to a working backup...
The funny thing is, when I reboot the phone, I get the startup chime no problems.
Anybody have any idea what could be wrong??? The phone is out of warranty, and considering there have been minimal software patches/updates since it's release, and no sign of any coming, I'll probably just junk it rather than paying to get it fixed....

Sounds like it may be a simple fix - the tiny switch is stuck inside the earphone jack.

Internet on Treo Pro (GSM) not working

If I want to access the internet to browse webpages on my Treo Pro, I do not get anything while connecting through GPRS. When connected through Wifi it does work. I think it is not the internetconnection itself since I do receive my e-mails through GPRS; it does connect without problem. However, while browsing the internet internet explorer hangs while trying to find a webpage. What can be wrong?

I'm having the same problem and have asked for a new phone. I worked with tech support with Bell, did hard resets twice and they even took me off their system and put me back on ... all to no avail. The internet is not working. If my Treo Pro is sitting on the cradle, connected to my PC, the internet works fine, but when I take it off, an error message says, "Cannot Connect: Cannot connect wth the current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings." The tech people told me to go to settings and manage "My Work Network / Manage Existing Connections." There, all I do is make sure the number is #777 and that's all. After a hard reset, it clears this connection setting. So I can still not connect to the internet unless it's connected to the PC via the USB cable / cradle. Something else must be set up wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Treo Pro will not sync with Vista SP1

I'm really hoping somebody can help me here. I just replaced my aging 700p with the long-awaited Treo Pro (Sprint). I've actually been looking forward to getting fully Windows-based, since my 700p syncing was routinely problematic - always having to do workarounds and plug in the cord just the right way, etc...
Let me try to give you the flow so far.
I have Vista SP1
I get Treo Pro
I plug Treo Pro into Vista, SP!, all ready to sync up my Outlook 2007 data.
Treo Pro fires up a very impressive looking installation routine.
Routine seemingly works fine - getting me to the point where you unplug and reconnect your device to do your first sync
I reconnect, and hear the Windows "USB connect" sound, then.... nothing.
I open WMDC and it says "not connected"
I open "USB to PC" on the Treo, and uncheck the "advanced networking" box as suggested by some other posts.
Windows sees the difference and installs a couple of other drivers.
Windows connects, gives me the "USB connect" sound, and WMDC says "not connected"
The Treo appears to attempt a sync, but finishes with a message "To synchronize this device, you must install ActiveSync 4.5 or newer on your desktop computer. "
HUH? ActiveSync only works with XP - of course I can't install that!
By the way, I tried the same thing with my Vista SP1 laptop. Same exact results.
Also, at no time have I seen the WMDC icon in the tray area. (I remember having a Nino way back when, and the ActiveSync icon was down there)
I thought this was supposed to be easy - Windows PC, Windows device. Piece of cake, right? Not so. If I cannot get this thing to connect, I'm getting a Centro! (not my first choice....)
A thought... any chance this could have to do with having Palm Hotsync still installed (from my Treo 700p)?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

On Windows XP, having HotSync installed didn't interference with using ActiveSync with a Treo 800w. This is not exactly the same as your setup, but close enough that I think HotSync is not likely to be the problem.
How did you install WMDC? The downloadable User Guide (PDF pp44-46) refers to running the PC Setup program. Did that part go as expected?
I don't use Vista, so I'm not familiar with the additional complications that might be involved...
