Back in the game.. Some book advice

I read Head First java some 5-6 months ago and worked java for 1-2 months. After that i made a pause till now. I want to know what book is good to quickly remind me what i knew. I have been doing some simple apps like calculator, jurnals, worked with databases, swings etc.
So what book is good for me? i don't want to read something with 500 pages or more, 'cos my schoolyear will start soon and i will have plenty to read there.

Well this is very good advice. I knew this exist, and onestly i never expected it to be so good, 'cos when someone realy knows something(like the guys who wrote this know java) its hard to explain it simple as it is.

Relax. Nothing is wrong.
You accidentally tapped-and-held a little too long and you entered what many people call "jiggly mode" - i.e. app reorganization and deletion mode. When in this mode, you can move apps around on your various home screens, create and organize app folders, and delete apps (by tapping the X).
Exit this mode by tapping your Home Button one time.

I can only imagine how upset I would be to discover that over $1000 in gift card funds seemed to be missing. Back in the Game

Hi everyone,
it's been 5 years since i've used flash so i'm working off the rust in my memory as to how to use this program.
i'm using Macromedia Flash MX (yea i know it's old) to do a video project with commentary. which is suppose to consist of 8 scenes (Intro, Highlights, Main Event, Replays, Main Event Continues, Replays..etc).
Scene 1 and 2 plays perfectly! i was so excited that i still had my skills after all this time... but scene 3 seems to be a problem child :/
So far all scene 3 consist of is word animation (all done in flash) and the Main Event which is 3 minutes and 34 seconds long original size is 720x480 rescaled to fit into a box on the scene (540x360), it's in avi format 756MB big and when importing i had to import the audio seperately and i also had to keep the quality of the video at 100% because the audio just wont sync right at anything less of 100% quality. i should also say that the flash project size is 854x480.
The Main Problem:
when i try clicking on "test movie" to see how well it flows i get an error "There is not enough memory" but i could view scene 1 and 2 when i click on "test scene" of course when i try clicking on "test scene" on scene 3 i get the same error.
So i decided to seperate the scenes into indiviual *.fla files and deleted all the files out of the libary related to other scenes but i notice that the size of the *.fla file remain pretty much the same after performing this task and scene 3 still have the error.
Spec on Pc Being Used:
OS: Windows 7 32-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Pentinum(R) D CPU 2.66GHZ 2.67GHZ
RAM: 2GB

ah after typing all of this i just remember that i was able to play scene 3 in the beginning when i try to use 50% quality but the audio won't snyc correctly so i can only assume that flash can't handle the size of the avi file and it needs to be compress to a poorer quality before before working but i have audio problems because of it.... man i'm so tired can any give me a solution that helps me out without having to reduce the video to a poor quality and at the same time keeping the audio snyc.

Using the AVI file format is from the same era as you left Flash .
What version of Flash are you using now? Please don't say MX... Back in the day of MX a 700MB video would be enormous. Even today in CS6 Flash is known to crash on large imports of that size. Out of memory seems just right.
Your first job would be to get the video into a format that's pre-compressed and library compatible, FLV (if you're using an old version of flash). That can be imported or played externally.
But first things first, what version of flash and what version of ActionScript (2.0 or 3.0)? If it's an old version and/or AS2.0 and you can provide me the 7xxMB AVI file I can compress it down using professional tools to a decently sized FLV ready for playback or import. It's not going to look as clean as MP4 H264 but I'll use On2VP6 Pro and hope your version of flash supports it. Otherwise I do have Sorenson Spark Pro which I know it will support, although the quality will take a big dive.

Get back in the game - Fix your privacy settings

As the title says. There simply is not enough choice in what i can hide and what is publicly displayed on my profile. This needs to be addressed. I would like to hide both my birth day and my last name for privacy reasons and this currently cannot be done. Several times i have also attempted to remove them completely from my profile, I always get a nice "your preferences have been saved etc" but it never sticks. When i reset my birthday to "day" "month" "year" and click ok, as to take them off my profile, no matter what, the next time i log in sure enough they're back. I cannot remember if giving the details of my name and age was mandatory, which is fine, because i can 'trust' a large enough company as yourself not to sell them out to frauds and id thefts, but having them always publicly available is simply.... stupid. So please Skype, fix your privacy service.

What platform(s) (Windows, Mac ....) are you using Skype on? Removing my birthdate from profile worked fine for me on Windows and Windows Phone. Are you logged in from multiple devices at the same time?

Best Way To Get Back In The Game

Hello All,
I am at a point where I need to re-train myself to get marketable again. I have been out of the SQL Server arena since 2009. At that point I was supporting a large SQL Server 2000 environment. I have been a DBA my entire career so
I know I can come up to speed quickly.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for training alternatives, either online or at a facility. I live in West Palm Beach. I feel at this point I really need to get a Microsoft Certification. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I agree. I'm getting tired of beating off the morons on the Mac rumors forum who seem to think this means the Flash player will be running on their iPhone. I thought these people were supposed to be smart but they just do not understand the concept of Flash actually creating a native app.
To be honest I did not see this coming but it is a pleasant surprise. I still think using strict Objectice C is the better way to go but honestly I have no time at all to learn it just to support a 1% market share even though that market is lucrative. Besides my company mostly does video streaming which isn't the sort of thing we sell to our users. It is the service we sell and this will hopefully give us another option.
The not supporting downloaded code has me a bit nervous about the FMS but I will have to wait and see what it all means.

If you have problems with other browsers as well, it is not a Firefox problem. Why do you need to restart the browser after finishing a download, anyway?

Try resetting your Apple ID password.

I backed up my game saves on most wanted and can't get them back.

I'm done the game and stuff but I backed up the game save and deleted the app, checked my backups. It was still there, about a month or two later I'm now getting it back, but my save is gone please help, it took me 2 months to get my cars and progress. :(

If you have hidden the menu bar, press either Alt or F10, this will temporarily display the menu bar, then in the View menu select Toolbars and click on the "Menu Bar" entry to permanently display the menu bar.

Connect your device to iTunes and do the update through iTunes. Using a computer takes much less space on your device than doing the update on your device.

Why does my apple ID always disabled when im entering my password in the game center?

Go to Appleid.apple.com, then go to manage your account and try to login. If it wont let you go to reset your password and try login again if it works that time go back to the game center and try using your apple id there with the new password.

Update the game with tuning!

The people, who have finished the game are not frequently playing the game. To bring them back, update the game with tuning. You can make people to comeback to the game everyday looking for the perfect tune for their faviourate cars!. It would increase the players on multiplayer getting their cars sideways together and just having fun. It's gonna add the competion of the drifting love.

It's not a simulation, therefore there won't be tuning.
