Back to Menu not working on burned DVD

Perhaps this is just an issue specific to my Samsung DVD player. I have a DVD project that I created from iMovie 8.0.5 which contains 4 chapter markers. In iDVD (7.0.4), the title page has "play movie" and "scene selection" buttons, and the subfolder/menu has the 4 selectable chapters plus a back button to return to the title page. I created a disc image to my computer before burning a DVD. When previewing the disc image in my Mac's DVD Player, menu selections and return to main menu, and return to title page work as expected. I burned a DVD and played it on my Samsung blu-ray player (model BD-P1600), and I'm unable to return to either menu once I've selected "play movie" or one of the 4 chapters from the sub-menu (it displays the red "not permitted" symbol). The only way I can return to the title page (besides letting the entire movie play out) is to eject the disc and press play again. I'm unable to return to the submenu at all (i.e., have to eject disc and press play, go to title page, choose "scene selection" button again).
Is this just a problem with my Samsung player (don't have another DVD player to test it on), or is there something I'm forgetting or not doing correctly in iDVD?

Hi Steve,
And welcome to apple discussions. Just to add to the good advice already posted above, it's not anything you are doing wrong within iDvd. I suspect it has to do with the specific model player you are using. The reason I say this is because I too own a Samsung set top Dvd Player in which I have experienced similar issues with button selections when using 16x media / faster. It's the most expensive Dvd Player I own btw. On the other hand, the other two cheaper Dvd players have no issues whatsoever. Don't ask me why. I think if you were to take your finished iDvd to a store that sells several name brand players that you'll likely see that the dvd plays perfectly and exactly as expected.

DVD Menu not working right in DVD Players

Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help me. I'm using a Windows machine. I've created a video in Premiere CS5, dynamic linked it to Encore CS5 and created a Main Menu (with a button to play the whole video and a button to the sub menu) and Sub Menu for scene selection (Containing 9 scene buttons and back button). It works fine with the simulation Remote control buttons on Encore's Preview test.
I have burnt the DVD and tested it in two DVD players one old and one new. The Main menu shows but I can't do anything else. It's animated but it pauses/freezes and them moves again, so it doesn't play smooth on either.
On one DVD player occasionally it looks like you can select the up and down button on the DVD remote control to select the two buttons, but nothing happens when you press the remote Play Button.
I've played it on my computer the menu selects fine with the mouse. The video however played for a few mins before it froze. But I'm not to concerned with the computer play. Just need it to work on DVD.
I have clicking on the 'Show Button Routing' button in the Menu viewing window and NONE of the buttons left, right, up or down are set to 0. So if I'm right in believing the remote should be able to navigate around all the buttons. However, I'm not sure whether the Auto Routing is ticked somewhere as I can't find it. My gut feeling is that this isn't the problem as the menu does not play smoothly and is freezing on and off like it's malfunctioning.

I always run in admin mode otherwise the DVD's don't burn at all.
The animated buttons are on the next screen, 'scene selections'. Which I can't get to.
The animations I was referring to are the swirls and film on the background they pause and freeze for a few seconds then play again as if the DVD is not being read properly.
How would I turn off animated buttons anyway?
Nothing happens with I press the Play button either so I can't go straight into the film.

Have used large format, but using the 'burn' software, I am not getting seamless video quality on DVD even though I am burning at 2* speed. Any ideas? Do I need better software? Or is there a problem with the SuperDrive?

No you can't. Apple don't support downgrading of iOS.

This does not apply to one application, but is a suite wide fix.
I had been running the CS6 Master Collection trial download version and the help menu, specifically the online "Help" and "Support Center" listed on the main help menu dropdowns of all applications within the suite, was not working, able to connect, or an error that the folder did not exist (apparently corrupted).
Once I just got the CS6 Master Collection (DVDs) I uninstalled the trials, then installed the hard copy version, with the normal reboot in between. The Help menus still did not work.
This is what I'm running. : Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
I called Adobe support and the following was my solution for both my desktop and netbook with this problem.
1.    Close all running Adobe applications.
2.    In the directory C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/ Delete the "Adobe Help" folder.
(C:Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Help/)
3.    Reboot
4.    Then go to Adobe.com/support/chc/   (this is the "community help center")
5.    Click under "Step 2" the "Install Now*" button.
6.    On one of the windows that open there is a Preferences drop down menu. Select the one that allows online help connection as well as local.
7.    Click "download" to begin the folder download. The downloaded folders are more than 1 GB for the CS6 Master Suite help files. Watch at the bottom left of the download window to see the small progress meter.
8.    Once done, reboot.
My CS6 Master Collection help menus throughout were fixed by completing the above.

Same problem here: I never had a problem with the previous versions and now I don't even get my homepage when I click Firefox. Instead, I am getting a blank screen that says "New Tab", only after I click the "Home" symbol I get my Homepage (Yahoo). The browser - back and browser forward button don't work anymore, very annoying. Normally a newer version should be an improvement but it looks like Mozilla really messed up with this "improvement". probably I am going to use Google chrome from now on.

Since I formated (and then reinstall with recover CD that was with computer at beggining), I am not able to burn DVDs !
How can I do to recover that !!

This is very strange its confusing that two ODDs appears in MY Computer
What you could do is to remove the ODD (CD/DVD) drive from the device manager and then to reboot the notebook.
Please check if the CD/DVD would be recognized correctly after the new reinstallation.

Photoshop CS5 - colour settings in Print menu not working after update Mac OSX maverick

After upgrading to Maverick OSX on the iMac printing from CS5 via Epson R3880 is not working correctly. In Print Settings menu the drop downs for Colour and Colour Settings are greyed out. I already re-installed PS and installed the new drivers from epson. Any ideas?

but after choosing PS manages color, the options in the print menu for choosing color (color or b&W) and color settings are not available anymore. They used to be the last three years I printed with photoshop/epson 3880.
Instead they are greyed out now.

If Photoshop managed color, then the controls in the printer driver are supposed to be grayed out - that's how Apple specifies drivers to work (because only one party should be managing the print color).
So what you're describing is perfectly normal.

My DVD player does not work with some DVDs

My DVD does not work with certain DVDs. Do I need to get it replaced or is there some other problem.

Could it be that they're out-of-region DVDs? Which model MBP do you have (15" late 2011, for example) and which version of OS X are you running?

Usually the Windows media Player is not able to play DVD movies IF no plug-ins were installed.
To watch DVD movies you can use the programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
Such programs were designed especially for the DVD playing!
But you can also visit the Microsoft website and search for plug-ins for Windows Media player.
Then you could download and install it to play DVD with WMP

Back button does not work and homepage does not show on startup

My back and forward buttons do not work anymore. they just show grey and I can not click on them.
Also my home page does not show when i start firefox.
I reinstalled firefox 4 and then went back to firefox 3.6.16 and have the same problem in both versions.

I just found out that when I open a second window everything works fine in the second window, but it still does not work in the first window.
When I close both windows the same thing happens. The first window my home page does not show up and the back button does not work, but the second window works normal. Including my home page.

Yeah, I am having the same problem (with 4.0 and earlier versions). It is really frustrating to say the least. I never thought I'd say this, but I might have to go back to IE if FF is going to be this useless. I noticed that you have to right click (instead of left click like it works in the real world) on the backwards/forwards buttons, and that is no less frustrating since my mouses backwards/forwards buttons no longer work with this new asinine button set up.

After updating my ipad 2 to iOS 7.0.4 , front and back camera is not working it gives like very small dots or dash. I did restore from iTunes and reset by holding on the home and sleep button, I also tried to close the app from the task bar but still all trials didn't solve the problem.

I haven't heard of this before so I doubt it's a bug. Probably something happened during the 7.04 download.
Backup your iPhone to iTunes and restore it as a new iphone, then restore from the backup. This will give you a fresh copy of iOS 7.04.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s
I've closed the app and re-booted the phone several times but it did not resolve the issue.
Upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 did not resolve it either.
Erasing the iPhone and restoring from a backup did not resolve it.
I'm not sure what else to do.
