Back To My Mac - Can't Log In Using Apple ID

I have a Mac Mini running Lion Server 10.7.3.  I am utilizing File Sharing and Screen Sharing to connect from my MacBook to the server.  When I try to connect, it works fine if I enter credentials as a Registered User, but I'd like to use my Apple ID instead.  Both machines are set up with the same Apple ID.  When I try to use my Apple ID to connect, it doesn't work.  The login box simply shakes back and forth.  This seems like a bug??

I don't think you can use your Apple ID to log into a server unless you use an account with the same ID and password (which I don't think you can do anyway).
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will jump in here and prove me wrong.

Why is my apple user account was change from apple account id to my email address? I can no longer log-in using my Apple user ID. 2 days ago my apple username was still accessible.

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.

  • You can only log in using your primary BigPond Broadband account

Hi I recently moved from QLD to WA and moved my bundle with me, I had foxtel on tbox over there but the box got left in the move so I bought another one today.  I have tried to register it but it comes up with the following message ' You can only log in using your primary BigPond Broadband account , If you can’t remember your primary account username and password, you will need to speak to a Customer Service Representative on 1800 331 402 So after calling the first time the lady registered the tbox and I thought that would be me on my way so I hung up and tried to get foxtel on tbox.  Ended up getting the same message and now my tbox does not appear to be registered at all.  So after another call which lasted around 30mins of me being on hold and a 3 way conversation where both telstra members were trying to fob responsibility off to each other and one being quite rude I was told I would be called back.. After another half an hour the guy called back and said that I could not get foxtel on tbox at my address.  To me this seems like Im being fobbed off as he didnt know what the problem was,  I am in a unit and I checked my address on the telstra website which stated 'great news, foxtel on tbox is available in your area' and after being told I couldnt get it, I put a note on the notice board of the aparment block to see if anyone else had foxtel and they do so clearly that is not the problem. Can anyone advise what to do or who to speak too to try and clear this up? Thank you

There are times like this I wish I could log in to customers accounts and fix it however not allowed  ESQ check which is a serviceability check and checks what services are available at your address. So if it says Foxtel Tbox is eligible then its all good to go then this wouldn't be the problem mate. What needs to happen is that your email address and serial number might be still on the admin portal of the tbox registration. However you said Tbox support have removed this from the account in saying that this can take a little while to be completely removed from our records which would then allow you to register a new device. Try the registration a little later on or again tomorrow and see how you go. Please let us know how you get along. Cheers bud.

  • I can't log into my apple ID account

I can't log into my apple ID account. every time I try, I receive the message: We could not complete your itunes store request. The itunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

I am also experiencing this issue. I signed out to attempt fixing a sync problem, and now I can't sign back in. I receive the same message. I thought it might be related to work vs home network connections, so I tried the following:
    disconnected all network connections/reconnecting
deleted wireless connection (only used Ethernet)
cleared the DNS cache: sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
Was still not able to sign in. Anyone have any other ideas to offer?

  • Can't log in using aol

ichat has stopped working for me. I can't log in using my aol screen name. It used to work. Nothing changed. I even created a new aol screen name just to check. It won't work. I deleted the account in prefs, turned off automatic in keychain. Nothing works. I am not sure if it is related to installing FaceTime. I need to get it to work so that I can use the ichat theater with Final Cut Pro. thanks for the help.

    Hi Raymond0836,
From what you are describing, it sounds like you want to do Airplay Mirroring (showing the same image on the TV as on your Mac desktop). You may find the following article helpful:

  • Back To My Mac: Can access Mac, can't access Time Capsule

I have a Time Capsule and also a Macbook Air behind an ATT modem/router. I have enabled Back To My Mac on both. I also clicked Enable File Sharing and set a password. From a friend's house, I can log in to MobileMe and see both the Mac and the Time Capsule in my Finder. Here's the problem: I can then connect to my Mac's disk and browse files, but I can't connect to the TC disk at all, it just says "Connection Failed". I don't know if the router supports uPNP or NAT-PMP, and I don't have the ability to set up port forwarding, so maybe I'm out of luck. I guess what confuses me is that I can get to my Mac, so I would assume the same protocols are in use to get to the Time Capsule. Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong? Thanks for the help.
    -ts-

I can even use Airport Utility to configure the remote Time Capsule, but I can't seem to access the disk on it for a remote Time Machine backup. I've Googled and Binged and can't seem to find any reason why this wouldn't work. Anyone?
    Thanks,

  • Back to My Mac - can't figure out NAT stuff

So I'm far from technical...I just can't figure out how to get Back To My Mac (BTMM) to work. I am setting this up from home now...
I have walked through the BTMM manual:
I start in AirPort Utility and select my Base Station.
To be able to see the "Internet" button at the top (and AirPort, Printers, Disks and Advanced), I need to first select "Manual Setup".
I click "Internet" as it says to do in the BTMM manual. Then there is only an "Internet Connection" tab. So to get DHCP and NAT to appear, I need to change the Connection Sharing drop-down from "Off (Bridge Mode)" to "Share a public IP address". Once I do that, the NAT tab appears.
So I click NAT and then make sure 'Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol' is checked (it is already).
Then I click the Update button in the lower right.
What I get then is a notice:
'Correct the 4 problems below before updating this base station.
    Problem:
    DHCP Beginning Address
    DHCP Ending Address
    Allow SNMP over WAN
Allow configuration over Ethernet WAN port'
Then when I select any of those 4 problems, different notices appear at the bottom. Thing is, I have no idea how to fix any of them, and the BTMM manual gives no clues how to fix this.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks!

I have the same problem. From as far as I can see, there isn't any reason to have the SNMP over WAN option checked. The DHCP beginning and ending addresses have something to do with how the airport assigns IP addresses to the computers on the network. I have a theory, but I need some backup. I think if I disable the DHCP on my modem and use the Airport as my DHCP server and enable NAT, it should work. Can anyone help out with this?!

  • Can't log in using Opera or Safari on a Mac

Login to the support forum fails using Opera 10.60 or Safari 5.1.2 on a Mac (OS X 10.7.2). It only works with Firefox 9.0.1. These are all up to date. How come SE has a forum where login is this brittle? What can be done about it? I don't want to have to use a separate browser just to log in to the forum.

I'm having the same problem with Opera 11.61 on Windows 7.  When I try to login, the login window just goes to a blank page titled "Widget Callback" and it doesn't close.  Logging in using Chrome works fine.

  • When using Back to my Mac can I use a local printer to print from the remote Mac?

When using Back to my Mac to access an iMac from a MacBookPro all with the latest OS updates may I use a local printer connected to the MacBook to print a document located on the iMac?  If so, how?  It looks like if I try to print it will all happen on the iMac.  Thanks.

    PeterFazio wrote:
The problem is that when in screen sharing mode the print command is executed on the remote computer.
I appreciate that, but it will still list the printer in your local location if things are set up properly and if it is you can print, if it isn't you can't, but you should be able to print it as a pdf, transfer the file to your local computer and print it from their.
