How do I back up the calendar and contacts from my iPhone5 to my new macbook pro(10.8.3)? I have backed up the phone, but it does not transfer the calendar or the contacts. Prints coming back from the lab murky, dull
Hello everyone,
I've been fighting with this issue since I started using Lightroom.
I'm using XP SP2, Lightroom 2.3 and CS3. View Sonic monitor calibrated with Spyder2. For printing I use a Canon Pro9000.
I work in RAW (Canon 50D) and convert to jpg (Adobe RGB 98) for the lab. The profile is embedded. On my Canon printer, the prints come out fine, very close to the monitor. I let Photoshop manage color and use the Canon PR1 profile.
I'm still getting prints back from the lab darker, with skin tones a little murky.
If I turn the brightness and contast down, I can get the screen to look like the prints, it's way to dark to work with. I used a second monitor to compare, they look close enough to call them the same.
I've been though the process many times and just can't see what I'm missing.

This thread illustrates what can happen when the original poster marks a question as "answered".
While Jao's suggestion certainly has merit in many instances, having his suggestion marked as THE answer is a bit misleading. The problem is that the original poster is apt to assume that submitting sRGB images to WHCC (White House Custom Color) IS the answer.
Unfortunately, the real question the OP should address is why, when he submitted an image in the Adobe RGB color space that contained an Adobe RGB profile, the prints returned from WHCC were unsatisfactory. WHCC does perform color management and I have the prints to prove it.
In other words, a little more digging on the part of the OP is probably in order. -

As far as the prices, the difference is likely the laptop version is the SD version and the iPad one is available in HD. That's the only reason you'll see a price difference. It has nothing to do with the device with movies/movie rentals. Apps yes, these no. -
How to Setup Multicast Address on Solaris 2.6 (Back to the well again)

Several weeks ago, I was thrashing about trying to verify the syntax for setting
up a multicast address on Solaris 2.6 in preparation for implementing Weblogic
6.0 clustering. The command syntax was:
ifconfig {interface}:{virtual#} plumb
ifconfig {interface}:{virtual#} {multicast_address} up
The commands succeeded on the first and second servers without errors, but unbeknownst
to me there were errors reported on the second host concerning duplicate address.
The errors were:
unix: WARNING: IP: Hardware address '08:00:20:a6:ed:0a'
trying to be our address 237.000.000.008!
The server halted today after several weeks; however, it is not clear whether
the multicast address caused the halt. Neither Weblogic nor Sun documentation
have been helpful. Can anyone provide guidance on setting up multicast address
on Solaris 2.6?

I don't think that BEA specifically takes any stand regarding the
configuration of operating systems. The problem is that the
administration of Unix machines and networking is a very complex and
sensitive subject for most companies (e.g., they have entire departments
dedicated to this) and BEA tries not to enforce any more configuration
specifications than it has to.
With regards to multicast, most newer versions of the major operating
systems (including Solaris) have support for multicast turned on "out of
the box". However, it is possible for your administrator to muck around
with your machine's network settings so that multicast does not work
properly or is disabled entirely. Most people in BEA support do not
know enough about low-level Unix TCP/IP administration to be able to
properly guide you to "configure multicast" if it is not working
properly. Even if they did, we wouldn't know what your administrator
might have done or why they did what they did so it is generally best to
get your Unix administrators involved because they really (should) have
the knowledge of the machine's configuration.
We do, however, provide a Java utility program called
utils.MulticastTest that can help you to determine whether or not
multicast is working correctly on your machine.

Sadly, even after a repair for Comm. problems, audio problems, I had to send the unit back because they simply are not solved. Specifically when I make a call with 5 bars signal, as soon as I hit send, the bars count down to one or none. I think dialing or talking causes some kind of power drain that affects the antenna reception. Also, sometimes, when I pick up a call, the caller cannot hear me and must call back. Lastly, even after a SIM card replacement, sometimes, when I dial, immediately NO ANSWER is displayed and the call is never connected.
The only thing that seems to work consistently is WIFI access. I hope this repair, or hopefully, a replacement, will perform properly.Sad to hear that you are ahving problems with your 5800XM, but it is very likely to be something that doesn´t happen very often since I have a 580XM myself (and some of my friends do) and we´re not having any kind of prolem with it!

A couple weeks ago my computer did an automatic update to a newer version of Firefox (it is now 3.6.8). Since this update, every time I open a window, it is docked to the right side of the status bar, when it used to be on the lleft side of the status bar. Also, several windows opened do not all show-instead only one window is shown and it will say how ever many windows I have opened (such as "3 firefox windows" instead of just showing those 3 different windows when it was docked to the left side). I have looked through the help section but cannot find an answer to this. I have looked through the "tools", then "options" section and compared my computer to another computer running the same firefox that has the windows opened docked to the left, and they both have the same exact settings, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with my "options" in firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

I have read alot of suggestions on how to fix it..I have deleted a few of the apps and tried reinstalling them but that won't work either. I have completely turned off the Ipad and it still asks me to update them...It does allow me to install a new app however.
The problem corrected itself,....i tried to delete the post but could not do it.

My apps have all moved on top of each other in the top left hand corner of the page.every time I drag them back to where they are ghosting on the page ,then change page and back again they r back in the corner again help what have I done
Try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

A Couple ddays ago I noticed my phone started acting wierd like the white screen with the apple picture on it popped up when I was on the phone.. All my contact names were deleted, and hours later the names popped up again. Not today I noticed something that's really ******* me off!!!!! (Lol) when I check to have battery percentage on (it's green showing its on) but it doesn't show at the top, and when I back out of the setting and go back the battery percentage is off again! Now with my text tingtone I try to change it back to how I used to have it and it just doesn't let me! I click a certain sound and back out of the settings and it's back to the defauLt !!!!! And check this out!!! The weird part is my phone randomly turned off by its self and when it came back on , I checked my photos and about 20 photos that I deleted months ago were mysteriously added back onto My phone! So can anyone help me :/ idk whats wrong woth this ps I have the 5

Having your device malfunction can certainly be frustrating. After reviewing your post, it sounds as though your device is experiencing multiple issues. I have located an article that can help with software issues. Have you attempted to restore the device to factory settings without restoring from a backup? Test the issue on a new installation, and make sure that it works. Then use the same article to restore from your backup to either verify it still works, or isolate the issue to the backup itself.

When i type in my correct password on the login screen and press enter it just goes to a blue screen for a few seconds then goes back to the same login screen again, please i need help?

but I suspect your going to first have to create a data recovery drive
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
to get your data off the machine,
then do a #20 to eliminate the bad sectors as that's why your getting the "pinwheel" it's getting a delay reading from the drive, right when your trying to log in too, what a bad spot for it to happen.

I was downloading an app on the App Store. I pressed install app and it says I need to accept iTunes terms and conditions. So I click ok and it takes me to the page to accept it. I click accept and it takes me to the page where the app is and a thing pops up saying the app will download now. I click okay and the same iTunes terms and conditions thing comes up again. Over and over I accept the terms but it keeps going back saying the app is going to download but it never does.
There must be a problem with the app store right now as a number of people seem to be having this problem right now. Try purchasing it using iTunes on your computer, accept the terms and conditions there, then either sync it to your phone or download it on your phone as a past purchase (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

When I try to right click now instead of getting the menu it goes into a new tab showing recent searches.I have to go back and right click again to get the menu and do what I wanted in the first place.Is there a way to fix this.This is really irritating.I like firefox but I'm ready to go back to Chrome. You're right-clicking a link? I can't think of any setting that opens a blank tab when you right-click in a page. It's also strange that it would occur on the first click but not on the second click.
Does this affect all sites?
Are you expecting Firefox's context menu or the site's context menu?
One thing that comes to mind is overriding the site's own right-click handler by disabling scripts from capturing the right click. This is set under
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
To the right of "Enable JavaScript" is a button to access "Advanced" options. If it's checked, uncheck the box for "Disable or replace context menus". -
I open a file - playback - the audio is there - doesn't appear in timeline, but I hear it, after 1 edit, the audio disappears. I have to reboot to get it back then it happens again. All suggeswtions welcome. Thank you, Randy

and Pixel Aspect Ratio under Edit Menu/Project Settings/General.
