Back up contacts from ipad to icloud
how do you back up contacts FROM the ipad INTO icloud? i did a sync and a backup to icloud and im still missing some in the cloud
You can perform a "cross-platform" restore like this, but it will only restore settings and apps that are compatible with your iPad Mini. For example, apps that are not "universal" so they will work on both your iPod Touch and your iPad Mini will not be restored.

OscarYou should be able to copy/move the contacts from your iMac to your MacBook using the migration assistant. It is under Utilities in the Application folder. One they are on both our your computer, just syncing your iPhone and iPad to its respective computer will keep them in sync. I myself also sync my contacts with my Gmail contacts. Doing so will keep your two computer synchronized too.

I cant seem to get my contacts from ipad onto icloud
I have tried turning device on and off,checked id is the same on all devices,icloud is turned on, on all devices, restarted all devices...please help!!
The calendar wont sync either though notes does!Kindly make sure on your iPad that Contacts and Calendars are not being synced with another mail account/account. Turning on Calendars and Contacts syncing w/ iCloud will only sync Contacts and Calendars locally saved or entered on the iOS device.

Going to give it a go. Had a back up of all my clients files stupidly not my software as I have the originals disks. Just realised that amongst the software is ibiz and have lost al my accounting and billing files for the last 7 years want to cry so losing my contacts now will really tip me over the edge!

Well, if both your iPad and iPhone have ios 7 you could AirDrop the contacts. This may seem time consuming if have a lot of contacts as you have to select all the ones you want to transfer. But it is useful if you want transfer only specific contacts and not the whole contact list. Oh, and another thing: your iPad has to be a 4th generation or higher and your iPhone has to be 5th generation or higher.

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates available.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from. -

Are you sure that you can transfer contacts from the iPod to Skydrive?
I would try the links that I previusly provided and try to get iTunes to see the iPOd so you can do everthing right.
If you find a computer that can see the iPOd yu can update the iPod on that computer. See:

JoFlo57 - I understand that I could use iCloud but I'm a little on the paranoid side about everybody's data in one location... what with hackers getting into Sony's Playstation accounts and other infamous huge hacking security failures I frankly don't feel safe storing anything on iCloud. -
