Back up corrupted and won't work after trying to restore when updated to 5.0.1?

I uprayed my iPod Touch to iOs 5.0.1 last night, all was going well until it got stuck at the "Connect with iTunes" screen. iTunes recognized the itouch and everything was fine in iTunes but the itouch screen wouldn't change. So I restore it back to factory setting and set it up as a new iPod touch since the 'Connect with iTunes' screen would not go away. I started to Restore from Back up from iTunes after its been connected to iTunes, now with the 'Connect to iTunes' screen gone. Halfway in, a message popped up saying that the back up has been corrupted or can't be used with the iPod touch. I lost everything. Can someone please help me with this?!

I can't find the preferences section of itunes. where is it because it isn't at the very top of the screen and I didn't see it anywhere else. i hasn't told me that the back-up is corrupted so I don't know about that. I just know that it always comes up with the error message 50 when I try to get the back-up restored to it.

Ipod won't work after trying to install Paid 2.0 update

I bought the 2.0 update for my 16 gig ipod touch. After trying to install the update through itunes half way through the update it gave me the message "The ipod could not be restored. An Unknown error occured (6)." I tried to do a restore on the ipod it it does the same thing. Can anyone help? Now after paying for an update I have an ipod that doesn't work at all.
I tried doing a restore using the old software on a different itunes library and get the same error message.
Any suggestions?

I followed the above instructions. Let Itunes 7.7 set itself up on the new account and downloaded the update. The first attempt didnt work but the second attempt after I rebooted the PC I logged in on the new user and booted up Itunes.
When that had finished faffing about I connected the USB cable into another USB port (above the one its just come out of if you get my drift) and it started extracting the software for Restore then it started prparing the ipod for for restore and then started uploading the software to the ipod in which it had not done it before. As I type it has just finished synching the ipod with my current Itunes library on my default windows account.
I am running the update but will have to enter my contacts details again but hey thats no big deal.
So I hope you all get yours to work.

IPhone5 rear-facing camera and flashlight not working after iOs 7.0.3 update

This is my first time posting here so do forgive me if I leave anything out.
Problem 1
I updated my iPhone 5 to iOs 7.0.3 (on 10/22 when it released). Since then, my rear-facing camera has stopped working. When I open up the camera, it's just a black screen and I cannot take a picture or video, but the other elements on the screen are still functional: changing flash from auto/on/off, turning HDR on/off, switching from video/photo/square/pano, but still the screen remains black. When I switch to the front-facing camera though, it works fine. I can take pictures and video through that view.
Problem 2
The second problem that's happened as well is the flashlight in the control center is greyed out, can't click it at all.
Attempt to Fix
I brought my iPhone 5 to a Genius Bar. Guy took it to the back to open it up and check if there were any physical problems with the phone and camera. He came back, found nothing. Unfortunately my phone was no longer under the one-year warranty, so in order to fully replace the phone with a new or refurbished one, I would've had to dish out $200 something and I wasn't trying to do that just yet. So we decided to just wipe it clean and restore. After we did that, everything was working, the rear-facing camera, the flashlight, things were perfect. I left the Apple store, got on the train to head home. I opened up the camera to take a picture and long behold, it stopped working again. I got home and did the exact same thing the guy did, wiped my phone and restored. Everything was working again. I held my breath though... 1/2 hour later, same problems with the rear-facing camera and flashlight came back.
Just as a note, not sure if it helps, when I use third-party camera apps/photo editors, when I try to use the camera within those apps, it freezes and closes.
I don't know what else to do. It seems the only fix is restoring my phone and having the camera and flashlight work for a few minutes only to go back to the same problems. The Genius Bar didn't help. I'm not trying to give up $200 something when this is something that happened clearly because of the iOs 7.0.3 update. It was working perfectly fine before that.

WORKAROUND FOUND ! Download and install "Awesome Camera" app and take a picture with that app. After 1-2 seconds of standby, it will work. Then you can go back to default Camera app which would work again.Please let me know

ITunes is giving me a runtime error and won't load after trying to install update

After trying to install the latest update to iTunes my iTunes will no longer work. I've tried uninstalling and re-downloading and still get the same runtime error

My 8GB iPod won't work after I clicked restore on iTunes?!

I clicked restore on itunes as my iPod had two/three lots of the same songs on it and i just wanted to wipe the memory and start again by putting all my albums on. Now it won't work as it says there was a problem with recovery and it's in safe mode and just keeps referring me to queries that are far too technical for me to understand. How could this happen?

It states an unknown error occurred (1) and shows a tab saying, more information. But despite restarting both my mac and iPod.....it still won't work and just has an apple icon on the iPod......

Did updat ios6 now my ipad won't work also tried to restore it and that won't work either

ipad 2 is not working thanks to the new great update, have tried to restore it 3 times now and it still will not work

The only thing that I can suggest is keep trying - or try it on another computer.
Did you try rebooting the iPad? Hold down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Maybe if you reboot you will be able to restore.

IPod won't work after trying to install IOS4; install "hangs"

My son has an iPod touch. It's a month old and bought new, so it would be the latest version. We also have the latest version of iTunes running on Vista.
The issue . . .
Son was prompted by iTunes to download IOS4. He did this, but when he tried to install it on the iPod, it froze the iPod and iTunes.
We have tried several times to do the install, and on two different computers, but the same thing happens - the install "hangs" at about one-third of the way into the installation.
We also cannot use the iPod at all, because when we switch it on, there's an icon that tells us to connect it to iTunes. And when we do this, we can the hanging issue described above.
Son is distressed. He spent all his birthday money downloading apps for the new iPod, and is worried he may have lost the lot.
I can see from the discussions here that we are not the only ones having this proble. Is anyone closer to finding a solution?

I fixed this by taking doing the restore/install on a Mac.
It's now working fine on the PC.
Of course, this only helps people who have access to a Mac!

I have just updated my iPhone 4 with latest IOS 7 and now wi fi greyed out and Bluetooth not working. Tried reset, restore everything - no use. Its out of warranty too. I refuse to pay for a new phone when clearly this is an apple issue not phone issue.

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

I downloaded pictures to iTunes, the phone would not delete the pictures and then hung up after trying to download the updates and now its telling me I have to restore the phone.

My iPhone 5 had too many pictures stored on it. So I downloaded them to iPhoto after they were imported I click for it to delete the pictures from the phone. The pictures were never deleted and then the phone try to update to the new the new IOS even though I did not click for the phone to do this. I got an error saying the phone could not update and that I would have to restore the phone to factory settings. The phone is frozen and just talks to me when I try to do a function on the phone. And it hasn't restored or updated anything.

Exhange 2013 not working after trying to apply cumulative update 6

Hi All,
Please can you help. Its been over a week since I tried to apply cumulative update 6 on my instance of Exchange 2013 and I am getting nowhere with it. With any user intervention it came up with errors in the middle of applying the update. I can't continue
the installation nor can I roll it back. Most of all it has rendered the server useless.
When I run the update I get the following error;

Facetime, iMessage, and Mail not working after iOS 6.1.3 update

I've had my iPod touch 4th generation since Oct 2010 and never updated the iOS until very recently. Before the update, Facetime worked consistently and easily. After I finally got around to updating my iOS a week ago, my iPod has come into severe issues.
99% of the time, I cannot send or receive Facetime calls. If I try to make a call, it doesn't make the dial tone and eventually it just says "Connection Lost". Nothing happens if someone is trying to send me a call. I only Facetime with my boyfriend and his iPod hasn't changed since Facetime was last working. HIs other iPod is also updated with iOS 6.1.3.
I never used iMessage before the iOS update, but because it says on Apple support that it uses push notifications like Facetime does, so I tried it. Most of the time, I cannot send or receive messages. I rarely used Mail before the update, but I never had a problem with it. Now, when I enter my gmail password, it keeps saying my username and password are not correct, even though I haven't changed my credentials.
I only use my iPod for Facetime, iTunes, and Pandora. I don't need iMessage or Mail, but I am testing with those to see if this can help find the root cause of the problem. Pandora works smoothly so I know it's not a wifi connection issue. I have searched for remedies on end and tried:
1. Reset, turn off/restart, turn Facetime on and off, etc.
2. Changing the DNS server address to 8.8.8.8, which made Facetime work normally for one time and never again
3. Updating my Apple ID password online, then signing out and signing back in
4. Creating another Apple ID with my other gmail account. Maybe 1 out of 10 Facetime call attempts, I can generate the dial tone, but when my boyfriend clicks to receive the call, it says that I am unavailable. iMessage has about the same success rate. It seems when I miraculously can send or receive texts through iMessage, I can manage to get the dial tone when I try Facetime, though the call cannot go through.
This is of course extremely frustrating and I highly regret the update now. I was hoping for an improved iPod after the update, and now I have a near-dud! I did make sure to check my location and date and time, and both are correct (US, Central time). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I spoke too soon. I tried Facetime again last night and had the same problems. Another factory reset did not work. I think it may be time to just call Apple support.

IPhone 4 won't work after i used restore

Today I changed my iPhone passcode, and now I can't remember it. (dumb move, I know) but after I googled a couple things they all said I had to restore. So, I did and afterwards it made me choose my language, country, etc. and then says "Activating your iPhone. It may take up to three minutes to activate your iPhone" after a while, it then says at the top "Could Not Activate iPhone" and then in the middle "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." Meanwhile, it is connected to iTunes, it just won't show up. PLEASE help, I'm getting so frustrated and I don't know what else to do.

I got it from the Verizon store, and they activated it and everything for me before i left the store. But I just restored it to reset the passcode. Except now, it says it can't activate.

App store and Safari not working after Time Machine restore to new hardware.

I just had to install a new hard drive to my mid 2010 imac. I restored with time machine. I cannot find the original OS disc. Upon restoring it appears there is a problem with the webkit framework as Safari, App store, and Skype all freeze upon clicking on them and after bouncing, they never open. Chrome is working. What do I do?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

Iphone won't work after trying to update

I started to update, got an error message and when I clicked ok to stop the update, I noticed an arrow with a usb icon pointing to an itunes icon on the phone. Can't get rid of it. Tried several times to restart the phone-nothing. Help... Tried restarting itunes etc etc. no help.

Thanks for the info. Any other things to try before using the restore? I hadn't done a sync since I just got home after being with my grandbabies and taking tons of videos and pictures. I'd hate to lose those if there's a way around it.

Trying to synch my ipod and getting message that a file is corrupt and can't communicate. Trying to restore ipod but nothing happens when I click on restore. What now?

After following all of the instructions in the help site I get the ipod to the Disc Mode but nothing happens when I click on restore. Help, my wife thinks I'm sabotaging her ipod.

When you have a compatible Numbers file in icloud (from Numbers on a mac), then when you invoke Numbers on a device, that file immediately shows up in the main window that lists all documents in Numbers. (Same thing for Pages.)
I haven't used Numbers, only Pages, so I just made a test. Created a Numbers file on the mac and "move to" iCloud. On my iPhone, the file didn't show up - hmm. Then I remembered I had turned off wifi and in settings have 3G data for documents turned off. When I turned on wifi and went back to Numbers, the file appeared.
I suspect you need to import the Excel file into Numbers and then save it as a Numbers file to iCloud, using "move to".
Using Mountain Lion and latest iOS and Numbers/Pages.
