Back-up doesn't progress. I have a large catalog...should I keep waiting or is something wrong?

I am trying to do an incremental back-up. The Organizer has been calculating total media size for over 14 hours and is still at the initial 3%. I have a large catalog.Should I keep waiting or is something wrong?

I have mine set to not push or automatically check my email, it only checks my email when I actually use the mail app. I also keep 3G turned off unless I'm using an app that needs to get online like safari, mail or Pandora radio. Just this week I wanted to see how long it would last with my normal usage to go from full to zero and it was in stand by most of the time but I played a few games, used safari and mail a few times (I use 3G at work but at home it's turned off b/c I use my wifi connection)used it as an ipod a couple times in the car, had a few phone calls and several text messages and I think I played around with the GPS and map utility on the drive home from work one day and in the end it lasted almost 48 hours. I was plugged into my laptop for about 5-10 minutes to sync so it was charging then but overall I was quite happy with the battery.
3G and automatic mail checking certainly drains the battery but I expected that when I got it. I wish there was a button on the home screen to turn 3G on and off instead of having to go into the control panel but it's not too inconvenient.
Remember that Apple recommends that you fully cycle the battery once a month, fully charge it then let it drain to zero then fully charge it again.

My iphone volume turns down randomly own its own. It will turn up on the buttons, but will turn back down by itself and i have to fight the volume to keep it from muting. Plus, the mute logo stays on the screen when it mutes itself. Please help.

Unfortunately this is probably a hardware issue and you will need to take it to an Apple Store.

A Progress Bar for my large catalog

I have a large catalog that I am putting on the web and I want people who have a slow connection to know that the file is still loading. Is there a way to add a progress bar to my file in Indesign CS5 or must I bring it into flash to optain this feature?

How is your file itself going to show a progres bar if it isn't loaded yet? Seems to me it would have to load before it could do anything like that.
Have you tried experimenting with different browsers and OS's to see what happens? With Firefox 4 on Windows XP here I don't get a progress bar but I do get a little spinning graphic when I try to load a large PDF like this one here:

I would wait like a week or so after you cancelled but after that you should call their customer service and see what's going on on their end of the transaction.

iTunes for Mac has never had an "Add folder to library" option. This is only available on Windows version.
Select Add to library, select the folder then click OK.
Or drag the folder(s) to the iTunes library at top left of iTunes.

Mine wasnt working either but i saw in another thread that you should try Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. Ignore the warnings, all your settings have to be changed back but you dont lose any media or data, you just have to put your background back and location settings. It fixed Siri for me but dictation still doesnt work. Hopefully it works for you :-]

We had the same problem, but figure out the solution.
You MUST have at least 1 song added to your ITUNE! After you add a free song, then everything else should work as normal!

Compressor gets stuck and task bar doesn't progress at all

I have set the settings I want compressor to do but, it gets stuck from after I press submit. Task bar doesn't "progress" and, all the jobs are in "waiting"
Any ideas Anyone ?

I had a similar problem and Digital Rebellion's Compressor repair did not help but their FCS uninstaller did.
You will need all of your FCS discs because there are many shared elements related to Compressor and Q Master. It took a few hours but after I did this Compressor was back to normal.

Lightroom 5.6 catalog back up doesn't complete on Mac

I am running Lightroom 5.6 and Mac OS X 10.9.4. I have the Lightroom catalog on my internal drive (279 GB available), and I'm backing up the catalog to an external drive (1.51 TB available.). My image files are on both my internal drive and second external drive. Two days ago, I quit Lightroom and hit the "Back up" button. The "Back Up Catalog" dialog box disappeared, and Lightroom proceeded to check the catalog. I came back the next morning (about 7 hours later), and the "Back Up Catalog" dialog box was on the screen - the same one that I used the night before to initiate the back up. I moved the "Back Up Catalog" dialog box on the screen, and the "Backing Up Catalog" progress bar was revealed; it was behind the "Back Up Catalog" dialog box. The progress bar was animated, so it seemed to be backing up. (My catalog file is about 12.63 GB; my previews file is 3.72 GB; my Smart previews file is 76.7 MB, and there is a file whose extension is "lock" in the same folder as my catalog. The progress bar was about 75% complete. The quit command was greyed out the Lightroom menu, so I brought up "Force Quit Applications" dialog box on my Mac. Although I waited for several minutes, Lightroom was never reported as being "unresponsive". I checked my backup folder on the external drive, and there was a folder named with the date (2014-10-11 1855) and inside of it was lrcat journal file; it was 9 KB. I went ahead and forced Lightroom to quit. When I started it up again, an information box came up that said that because Lightroom quit unexpectedly, it had to examine the catalog. I left for several hours, and when I returned, the information box was gone, and Lightroom appeared to be running fine. When I finished editing a few images, I quit and hit the "Back up" button. The same scenario greeted me this morning. What's happening?

I was facing issues with both backup and FB integration after the iOs 6 upgrade. Before then I did not have any issues with the iCloud backup service, but after a few days, I noticed that it was continually stuck at the Estimating time for the backup and it never progressed.
As any good techie would, I tackled the most pressing issue first . . . FB integration of course.
I had read in a separate post about this solution so tried it . . .
I deleted the original FB app and hard booted the phone. I then went into settings and entered the data for FB integration. Seconds later, I received a text message to my phone - already listed and verified in FB with a 6 digit code to re-enter instead of my password. Seconds later I was verified and then prompted to download the FB app. All backup and integrated.
Then I went into the iCloud backup, turned it off . . . and deleted the last backup. I then re-enabled backup . . . and although I thought I was going to face the same issue, after a few minutes, it moved on from Estimating time . . . to actually backing up. It is now a small way through the backup and seems to estimate that it will take another two hours to complete.
A good nights work. Backup and integration all sewed up. Good luck.

That doesn't sound good. It sounds like the power outage might have corrupted the partition for OS X. I would suggest booting from the Install DVD that came with your Mac while holding down the C key. Once you have selected the language start up Disk Utility from the pull down menu and repair the disk. Once you have done that then repair permissions also.

I honestly don't remember what it came with though I do remember having two drives so long ago. Since then I've had to replace them with newer, faster ones, and just didn't really need a second drive. I don't copy cds, I just need something to read DVDS (which the current one doesn't seem to want to do) and occasionally burn something.
I bought the MacPro becuase I am a tireless multitasker, having super memory eating programs on at all times. Right now I am working in Photoshop while watching a movie, with two P2P programs open, two chat programs and surfing the internet, with two monitors active so I can see everything.. I can't imagine the average pc doing this wthout blowing up Mac Pros are the ultimate computer for those that like to do a lot at once.
The speed and memory capacity of the Mac Pro make it the best computer hands down to handle a mind that can't be satisfied with doing just one thing at a time!
And six years after buying it, it can still eat the average pc for breakfast How's that for great?
