Back up from iTunes for new iPhone
Morning guys and girls,
My iphone 3GS has packed up after 2 years, no problem. My carriers have given me a cheap Samsung until the new Iphone comes out in the next few weeks.
The night before it stopped working completely I did a back up.
So, when I sync the new iphone 5 to it in the weeks ahead I have the following questions.
Will the new iphone automatically load all my apps onto it?
Will the new iphone automatically load all my text messages onto it?
and finally Will the new iphone automatically load my contacts but most importantly contacts that were on my iphone only?

Will I be able to deauthorise by old iPhone 3 GS now that it is unusable?
Obviously I'm aware there's a limit of 5 computers (laptop, imac, ipod etc) for individual iTunes purchased etc...

Connect the old phone to your computer, right click on it in iTunes, and choose Transfer Purchases. That should put all of your music in iTunes except any tracks that were not purchased from iTunes. My wife purchased some songs for her new iphone from itunes on the phone. They do not show up in our library on my home computer. When I go to add new songs to her iphone from my computer are her purchases going to be wiped out.
Is the computer authorized for her iTunes account? If not, sign her in in iTunes and then go up to: Store>Authorize this computer. You say "our library", does that mean she does not have her own computer login? Has she ever synced to this computer/iTunes before? Once she is logged in & the computer authorized for her account, you can transfer purchases on her phone without syncing. With her phone connected, iTunes running: File>Transfer Purchases.

Not able to transfer songs from iTunes onto new iPhone 4s?
So I got the new iPhone 4s today... I'm currently trying to transfer my apps & music onto my iPhone. However, my phone doesn't show up in iTunes when I plug it into my computer. I've tried restarting my computer and my phone. Is it possible that my iTunes version isn't recent enough? I'm not sure what to do...
If this is a Windows based computer, try restarting the AMDS...

Where has the hd movies gone from iTunes, for the iPhone 4?
Today I thought how great it would be to watch a rented hd movie through my iPhone 4. But for some weird reason hd films seem to have vanished, leaving me with sd films only. Last week I had the option of renting it in hd now I don't. Why is this?
I noticed this as well. Does anyone know what happened? Also would I be able to use my computer to download the movie in HD would I be able to sync it to my iPhone 4 or have they disabled that option as well?

I purchased an audiobook from iTunes On my iPhone. I got a new phone and after the back up, the books I downloaded were not there. iTunes wants me to repurchase the books I downloaded. Is there a way for me to Redon load my already purchased books?

On your new iPhone tap Settings > Store.
Make sure Books is turned ON.
You shouldn't need to re purchase the book > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before? Can you redownload? If so, how?? Please help as I'm missing over 500 previously paid for and downloaded iTunes song purchases.
This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".

Got my daughter an ipod touch 4th and it wont dothe back up from itunes? I bought my other daughter an iphone 4 and its doing the same thing. Both are locking up itunes too. I tried the deactivate/activate that was suggested it still didnt work. I took the ipod to a friend and hooked to her laptop and it synced fine but now trying to sync on mine it wont do it and it has the backup encryption on but no passwords will unlock it. itunes will reccognize the ipod and the iphone but while going thru the sync steps they both get to step 2 then lock up itunes and then says its syncing but will never stop. I am very frustrated and am regretting buying products from Apple.
It seems to be a glitch or bug. Its been officially acknowledged and addressed by Apple. There is no resolution other than waiting for a few days. The Kb article by Apple states it will fix itself on January 7.

Symptoms

Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off. -

I want to transfer new content from iTunes to my iPhone without losing what is already on the phone. On the old iTunes I could drag and drop only the items I wanted on the phone. On this new version, all I can figure out to do is sync, which is going to remove the songs that are already on the phone. There has to be another way.
The film would have to be in itunes on your computer.
You would sync it like you do everything else.
