Back up from the Cloud

I am panicking because I LOVE Palm products, and I need to know two things:
How to back up my data from the cloud (and how to store it so I can access it)
If the curent data (contacts, texts, emails, etc.) on my phone will be lost
Already, my phone is no longer syncing with my google calendar!
Thanks for any insight.

It would help if you told us which phone you are asking about!
I have a feeling you may be asking about a webOS phone.  This section is devoted to PalmOS devices.

All of  your apps should be in iTunes on the computer, simply sync them back.
If they are not, go into the purchase history and download them again.

Had to replace battery, which wiped out everything. Backed up from the cloud, but when I hook to computer, won't sync. Keeps asking if I want to re-store the phone.
    Ideas?

no apple store replaced. they said there were 3 apple programs that kept crashing in background, which ran battery down cause they kept trying to re-load.
they backed up phone to cloud, wiped out old software and replaced new software & new battery. since then won't sync with itunes on computer.

  • How can i get my music from the cloud back on my computer??

For some reason my computer keeps saying that it cant find my music!! I have changed computers and phones but thought that my music was backed up to the cloud. How do i get it back on my laptop to put it back on my phone??

Downloading past purchases from iTunes Keep in mind that not all content is available for redownload.
The best solution is to copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder (and other important data) from the old comptuer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.  Relying on the ability to redownload content is an extremely unintelligent way of maintaining access to purchased content.

  • How do I retrieve data from the cloud to put back on my iPad after it was restarted, I.e. my calendar, notes, reminders?

I took my 1st gen iPad to an Apple store because of some glitches in the operating system, and I had forgotten my restrictions pass code. They backed up my data on the cloud, then took everything off of my iPad to basically "start over" with a new iPad. Now I don't know how to retrieve my calendar, notes, reminders. Somehow my contacts are there. I went to general settings and made sure the cloud was turned on, but I don't know how to pull from the cloud what we had previously backed up. Thanks for ANY suggestions:)

When you have forgotten a restrictions password, you can no long restore from a backup that had the restrictions turned on.  You can only start over with a full reset.
But you can sign back into icloud (Setting>icloud) and turn on the services you have used before (calendars, reminders, etc...).  That will sync down the data to your ipad.

    Hello Tina,
Thank you for the question.  It sounds like you would like to download your songs from iTunes Match.  You can do this by turning iTunes Match back on and clicking the cloud icon with the downward facing arrow next to the songs that you would like to download to your computer:
    Available for Download
This icon appears when a song is available in iCloud and hasn't been downloaded to your local library.

this seems to me to indicate that Match copied the library up into the cloud and it no longer physically exists on my HDD???
No, this is not what iTunes Match does. When you enable the service it leaves all the original files right where they are and mirrors your library in the cloud by either matching tracks to tracks available on the iTune Store or uploading tracks to the cloud. The service does not delete files from your HDD.
I am unsure what you mean by "library icon" or "itunes library file" but if you mean the iTunes Library.itl file the size of that file is irrelevant.
Before you enabled the iTunes Match service approximately how many songs were in your iTunes library and where were they stored? On the internal HDD of the computer, or on an external? Also, do you have backups?

  • I have an iPhone 4S that is a replacement of a defective 4s and it shows over 3Gb of data backed up in the cloud from my old 4s. How can I find out what is in this backup? It is preventing me from backing up my new 4s to the cloud due to the amt of data.

I have an iPhone 4S that is a replacement of a defective 4s. When I activated the newer phone, I believe I transferred over everything except pictures (had multiple failures trying to backup and restore). Now the phone shows over 3Gb of data backed up in the cloud from my old 4s. How can I find out what is in this backup? It is preventing me from backing up my new 4s to the cloud due to the amt of data. It may be duplicated info that I don't need or I may want to archive the backup or parts of it like pictures.

You can not access the backup directly.
Did you restore your replacement from this backup?
If so then you already have everything in the backup on your device.
If not, you can wipe the device and restore from this backup:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
What is it you are worried about losing that isn't already on your current device?

  • How do you get old emails back from the cloud storage

how do you get old emails back from the cloud storage

How did you get them into cloud storage?

  • How do I get MY iTunes back from the cloud

The iCloud ate all my iTunes and won't give them back.  Yes, I can download once song at a time but why should even music I loaded from my css be hijacked by iCloud?  Any solution for this?  APPLE please find a way out of this dilemma.

    My experience was this:
    1) I had a collection of 3000 songs on my hard drive of my Windows computer.
    2) I started a subscription to iTunes Match.
    3) The Match service scanned my music collection, and as far as I can tell it uploaded a number of my songs to the service cloud.  (based on the cloud status indication in the iTunes GUI)
    4) But judging from the cloud icons none of the songs remained on my local hard drive.  For each of the 3000 songs the cloud-with-down-arrow icon indicated that the songs were only in the cloud, not on my PC.
    5) I had evidence that the songs were not deleted from my PC, because the size of the iTunes library was the same and in the Windows file system I could still see the song titles, but as far as the iTunes GUI was concerned all the songs were in the cloud and not in the hard drive.
    6) When I tried to play the songs, there was a startup delay, as if the song was being streamed from the cloud and not being played locally.
    7) When I tried to play the songs without a WiFi connection they would not play.
    8) I had to painfully download all 3000 songs one by one to restore them to the original state.
I'm left with a very bad taste about iTunes Match.  It's the worst experience I've had with any Apple product or service.  I'm seriously considering jumping ship from iTunes to some other music service, and I've been a loyal iTunes customer since it's inception.

How do I retrieve my photos from the cloud after a reset. My photos are gone from my phone, and I backed them up on iCloud? when I restored it, no camera roll pictures?

Try restoring the backup again.  Sometimes it's successful the second time.  You could also try restoring an older backup.  iCloud will have your last 3 backups is you have sufficient storage space in your account.

    Hello BwarsIG88
Check your purchase history by going to the iTunes Store and then click on purchases. From there you can see all your purchase history and download what you are missing.
