Back up incomplete

in performing back ups on a L455 sattelite I am getting the message that my system did not back up properly in app data, contacts and searches.  All else seems to be backed up and it takes only about 40 minutes but because these three messages are present, it indicates I have never backed up my computer.
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\LocalLow. ErrorThe system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\Administrator\Contacts. ErrorThe system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\Administrator\Searches. ErrorThe system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))

Which Satellite L455? Which Windows?
Backing up to what/where?
Is there more than one user account on this computer? (That situation occurs most frequently in such cases.)
Check that the situation in KB976972 does not apply.
In the meantime, if you are backing up to a hard drive run chkdsk x: /r on that drive.

I'm afraid you're out of luck.  If it says incomplete you won't be able to access the backup.

  • Hi I am trying to set my Iphone 5 from I cloud and its saying the last back up is incomplete. Any one Help please

    Hi guys,
I backed up my phone on i cloud and now I am trying to set up my new Iphone 5 from the i cloud. I have got all my data and some very important numbers in the last back up.
Now when I try to back up from the i cloud it is saying back up incomplete. PLease guys I need some help in order to restore the data back on to my phone.
    Many thanks.

If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test:   Go to...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options.  Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup.  If that doesn't work, then this post will not help.  If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup.  If successful, keep repeating these steps.  If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail.  (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

  • Trouble with "incomplete transfers" via Cyberduck

Coincidentally or not, since upgrading to iWeb 09 I've had a lot of trouble uploading my updated pages to the website. I haven't made any huge changes to the pages and they're very light-duty pages (all text plus one low-res photo per page). . they just keep coming back as Incomplete Transfers when I try to upload them via Cyberduck.
Should I try another FTP? Is this a common Cyberduck problem?
    All thoughts are appreciated,

After two days of messing with it. . .and posting the above message. . .it suddenly started working just fine. Go figure.

  • Need ICloud back up help!

My daughter's new IPod will not back up to ICloud. It keeps saying back up incomplete, but I can back it up to my PC. ICloud is turned on and my Iphone is backing up properly to ICloud, so I am not sure what to do at this point

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • I just signed in to Creative Cloud for the third time today!

Ok, I love the new apps. I am good with the pricing structure. But this mess with first having an endless stream of problems with installing the CC manager, and the AAM, and reinstalling AND reinstalling until finally I was able to hunt down the problem myself (firewall plus anti-virus problems mostly, which just leads back to incomplete installer development IMHO).
Now? Creative cloud will not keep me signed in. What's more, it won't maintain my software authorizations. I've authorized Premeire Pro twice today, just to keep Media Encoder and dynamic link running. Why? Why why why???! To add to this, I am continually asked to reaccept the license agreement and after I login, am directed to my completely filled in profile and asked to complete it.
And if any response to this includes "uninstall/reinstall" I am going to freak the @$%^& out.
This was not happening yesterday, or the day before. Why is it happening now? If you have server problems, am I not going to be able to work?
More importantly, I'm about to pack up my gear and take a teaching appoinment in a rural area with possibly very limited Internet access. Something I thought would be fine, because I read that my license would remain active for a significant period while offline.
With two weeks to go before I leave, please tell me what is going on, and what you are going to do about it. Because I'm about to tell the University where I work that Creative Cloud is not together enough to consider yet.
Adobe, why are you trying to make me unhappy. I'm a big fan. Plus, you are delaying a significant job.

Follow the steps below. After several chat conversations with Adobe, this is what I think has fixed the issue. In the end, it makes sense, specifically the permissions settings. Mine were set to Read-Only (Step 4) which would mean that when I log in, it is not able to save my information to the neccessary files. My CC Account was logging off every day before. After following these steps, it has been 24 hours and I am still logged in. Its worth a try if you are having this issue. Note: this is for windows only.
    Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Adobe.
    Locate SLStore folder.
Right-click the SLStore folder, and choose Properties.
In the Attributes section, deselect the Read-Only option.
Click Apply, and then click OK to close the Confirm Attribute Changes dialog box
Again, right-click the SLStore folder and choose Properties.
Click the Security tab and set permissions.
    •Administrators: Full Control
•Power Users: Everything but Full Control and Special
    •System: Full Control
    •Users: Read and Special
Click Advanced, and, if asked, accept the User Account Control (UAC) elevation prompt.
Click the Owner tab, select Administrators, and click Edit.
Select Replace Owner on Subcontainers and Objects. Click Apply, and then click OK.
Click the Permissions tab and click Change Permissions.
Select “Replace all Child Object Permissions with Inheritable Permissions from this Object”. Click OK, and then click Yes.
Click OK, and then click OK again in the Windows Security dialog box. Click OK to close the Advanced Security Settings dialog box.
    Then navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Locate SLCache folder and delete the complete contents of the SLCache folder.
Hit Window+R to bring up the Run Window, type %appdata% and press enter.
Click on Appdata in the address bar.
Then navigate to Local\Adobe\OOBE folder and delete the OPM.DB file.

  • Installed 10.8.4 and now my wifi refuses to connect to any WPA2 network!

Installed 10.8.4 update yesterday in the office. After restart my wifi refused to connect to the network although it was connecting to it fine before the update. Used ethernet and downloaded the Combo update. No improvement. It connects to the public wifi but not to the WPA2. Went home and opened my MBA and found that it does not connect to my peronal WPA2! Removed security from my Guest network and it connects fine. Put the WPA2 back, and it refuses to connect. Any ideas?

seems the problem is that the 10.8.4 didn't install properly. here is the install log:

  • Mavericks fails to upgrade to Yosemite

When install Yosemite on my 2.3 GHz i7 MBP w/16 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD / 15-inch early 2011 MacBook Pro (which started at Lion), my Mac downloads and installs, then reboots back into Mavericks.  I found that /var/log/install.log has some errors in it, but I can't tell which one is the showstopper or how to fix it.  Does anyone recognize the key problem in this log?
There is clearly an exception in the middle of the log (1) I don't know what's causing it and (2) I don't know if its actually interrupting the process.  I considered reinstalling, but it will take a very long time - I have to start with 10.7, which is four upgrades away.    I tried reinstalling Mavericks and I get the same symptoms as when I try to install Yosemite.

  • AUR3 [aur-pyjs] implementation in python (pyjs) + JSON-RPC

    INTRODUCTION
This is a reimplementation of the AUR using a widget toolkit known as Pyjamas (http://pyjs.org).  Client-side code (to run in web browsers) is written and maintained in python; when deploying to production, the python sources are compiled/translated to 100% pure javascript.  The resulting javascript code can be ran on any major browser.  When deployed, this is a 100% pure javascript application... thus, javascript is required, else you will see only a blank page.
    WHY PYJS?
    1) anyone that knows python can write clean, maintainable client-side code
    2) eliminates the need to know the umpteen inconsistencies amongst browsers
    3) via pyjamas-desktop, the app runs as 100% pure python, as a true desktop app, with no modifications
    4) back-ends are JSON-RPC; allows back-ends to be written in any language, and enforces a clean separation

heh, yeah i purposefully wasn't mentioning that at this point .
no, it is not able to fall back to plain old HTML.  there was/is a project, pyjamas-server or something, where the backend/server would run the app as python (i think, might have been spidermonkey), compute the DOM, then spit the result to the client/browser as an HTML document.  every time you did an "action" (clicked something/whatever), you would make a new request to the server, it would do the action for you, then spit back the result.  i'm not sure completely how it worked, but the biggest problem was that in order to maintain a "state" from the clients perspective (simply retaining variables/etc.), a permanent/daemon process was required on the server.  this daemon would essentially be doing the same thing a client browser would have done, had javascript been enabled, but the daemon is doing it for _every_ client that doesn't support JS.  the other option was to serialize/deserialize the entire state after each request, but that's slow
i have some hope for this in the future, but ATM it's not here.  although, it may be easy to "snapshot" points in a running pyjamas app, and save the DOM.  this could then be served up, and could reuse the same CSS as the JS version; i believe this is sort of how the new test suite in pyjs works, but i'm not sure.
the other option would be to just create a super simple HTML only version, maybe try to reuse the CSS, i dunno.  i've done manual web development for so long, that frankly i stopped caring about supporting 15 browsers and degrading gracefully to 10 different levels of functionality, it's just too much, and drives you mad wasting time.  this is why i love pyjamas; it takes care of the top 5 browsers or so, and others usually work fine.  so, i make a full functioning version, and a super crappy basic HTML version that does the bare minimum; if you don't like it, enable JS.  with the advent of HTML5 and the JS API's, JS will start to become a hard requirement anyways i think.
that was my long winded way of saying "no".
Xyne wrote:Regardless, it seems that you have a good vision for this project and I hope that your enthusiasm for it continues. I know that it can be somewhat discouraging when initially met with nay-saying and/or a seeming lack of interest.
thanks, and yeah it can be.  haha i thought people would be all over the idea of a new AUR, esp. one capable of running as a desktop app/installing with one click.  thats why i made it so easy to bootstrap a dev environment.  but meh, i code because i enjoy it, so i keep doing it cuz it feels gooooood.

  • SABA LMS Completion Status is always "Successful" -- even if quiz skipped

For a course I'm creating, the SABA LMS Completion Status is always “Successful” even if just 1 slide of the Scorm 1.2 compliant Adobe Presenter course is viewed – doesn’t even need to get into quiz.
A failing grade is also always "Successful". How to get an "Unsuccessful" for skipping the quiz and/or failing the quiz?
    Settings:
    Reporting - Quiz Manager:
Enable reporting for this project -- checked
Learning Managemenet System (LMS) -- Scorm
Choose Report Data -- Report Quiz results only
Report Pass or Fail -- Report Pass/Fail (should this be Report staus as defined by report data?)
Report Score to LMS as: Percent
Reporting Level -- Report interactions and the score

I have Presenter courses working properly in Saba.  Sometimes the issue is your Offering or Content settings in Saba.  Could be a combo of having Is Scoring checked and having a Mastery Score set on Course or Offering level.
When you dig down into the Activity History for that transcript completion, what status is listed on the module level?  Saba will roll up to a status of Successful/Unsuccessful/Not Evaluated depending on how you have it setup.  What Status is your content actually passing back: Completed, Incomplete, Passed, Failed?
    Good Luck!

  • How to make course 'review' from LMS app?

I have package and uploaded my CP 5 lesson into LMS (SumTotal) and works as expected. I need the ablility to review the content after the first time a user views and recorded as 'Completed/Passed'. Is there a special setting is CP? I can click the review option is LMS and it plays the first and last slides extremely fast and then closes. Any guidance is extremely appreciated. I have to have this finalized by Friday October 12. Thanks in advance, Diana

This something you have to organise via the LMS settings.  Your problem will be that in SumTotal if the user re-enters the content after completing it, SumTotal views this as a new attempt and their score for that content is set back to incomplete.
The reason your LMS jumps from first to last slide quickly is probably due to Resume Data bookmarking.  Captivate 5 and 5.5 didn't implement this very well.  If you want better Resume Data bookmarking, you'll need to upgrade to Captivate 6 with the new Rustici SCORM drivers.

  • Adobe Presenter - AICC No Completion in Saba

I am currently testing integration with Adobe Presenter courses using the Saba LMS and AICC import.  The training content is on a different domain than LMS so I have used the frameset and crossdomain.xml workarounds suggested in another Adobe forum post.  Everything is fairly successful, however, even when I have completed the content according to the completion rules set in Adobe and the content module (lesson) shows as complete on My Enrollments, the course is still showing as Not Evaluated in general and is not moved from My Enrollments to My Transcripts.  I tried with Captivate and it is updating the content module (lesson) complete in Saba and also marking the course as complete and moving to My Transcripts.
Why is Presenter not working the same way?  Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks!

First, the best place is probably the Presenter forum, which somewhat curiously is under the Connect umbrella:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/connectpro/connectpro_presenter
Out of curiousity, why are you using AICC? Because the content is on a different domain?
To the point, it's great to have a logging or debugging tool for these sort of things to view the communication between the LMS and the lesson. Perhaps the lesson is sending the 'completed' status but also sending some other value that the LMS is using to change the status back to incomplete?
My first suggestion would be to try the lesson in a tool like TestTrack...but I don't think that handles AICC. Does the Saba LMS have any kind of debugger or logging tool you can use? You really need to see if the lesson is sending the status back to the LMS as you suspect it should. If it IS, then the issue lies with the LMS and how it's interpreting that result. If it's NOT, then you can then perhaps figure out what to adjust in the lesson.
In general, just play with the settings. If it's set to Complete/Incomplete and has a Mastery Score, try NOT setting the Mastery Score... And other such combinations.
I hope the folks in the Connect/Presenter forum can provide more insight.
