Back up Info etc. from iPhone

Hi,
Pardon me for being ignorant but I'm in desperate need of anybody to assist me.
Right this minute, I am backing up my iphone to my computer although, I am not sure of a few things and they are:-
1. Once I have backed up to my computer, where can I view this back up info etc. in my computer?
2. Once I have backed up, what do I do next? "Revert" or "Apply" or Neither?
Please assist me, thank you kindly.

If you are backing up to a computer via iTunes, the backup information is stored in files that are not meant to be accessed directly. They are in a format that is intended only for restoring to an iOS device in the event of a problem. There is information on their location and content in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946
I regularly backup to iCloud -- happens automatically when the phone is plugged in (charging), locked, and has Wi-Fi connection. But that backup is also meant only for restoring in the event of a problem.
In addition to a backup, I routinely import my Camera Roll photos to a computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
That way I can verify that they actually are on the computer and I can include them in my regular computer backup.
I also sync contacts to my computer via iCloud (for the same reasons as I import the photos). Information on setting up iCloud to sync contacts: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
The "Apply" in iTunes has to do with syncing. More information on iTunes sync: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386

Click on it, choose Get Info from the File menu, and check the format.
If it's formatted as NTFS, reformat it as MS-DOS, exFAT, or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as desired, or install software such as Paragon NTFS on the computer.
If it's formatted as FAT32 or exFAT, use the Disk Utility's Repair Disk command on it; this may also happen for a flash drive which is about to fail.
If it's formatted as Mac OS Extended, click Authenticate and provide your administrator password, or change the permissions on that specific folder in its Get Info window.

No and Yes
Don't use TM for this purpose, clone your drive to an external, plug the external into another MBP and reboot from it. Please note that booting a machine that came with Lion may not be possible from a drive with Snow Leopard.

I have installed all the games from my iPhone 3GS at my iPad mini retina throw iCloud. I did what iTunes suggest but when I open the game start from the beginning. For example all the games of team lava company like farm story 2 bakery home design etc I have register and I took storm ID and I have reached in a big level that some times cost money to change level or to buy gems to continue the games.
I am very angry because before I bought this iPad they told me that I could played my games in a big screen of iPad and this as I can see is nit possible. Apple send me details that didn't help me and everything suggest me is not working.

How come i do not have the ability to delete books movies etc from iphone

i was unable to install or reinstall itunes on home computer after crash so instead i am using laptop running win7 and the most current version of itunes but it wont give me to option to see whats on my phone or delete anything from my phone but i can add things to my phone witch is now full please somebody help

It sounds like you are trying to delete music, movies, and books from your iPhone to free up some space. You don't even need to use iTunes to do this. I found some steps to help with deleting content directly from your iPhone in the iPhone User Guide.
You can find steps to delete a song or album on page 62:
Manually remove a song or album: Swipe sideways across the song or album, then tap Delete.
The steps for deleting a video are on page 78:
Delete a video: Swipe left or right over the video in the list. Deleting a video (other than a
rented movie) from iPhone doesn’t delete it from your iTunes library.
Steps on deleting a book is on page 111:
Delete items from the bookshelf: Tap Edit, then tap each item that you want to delete, so that a
checkmark appears. Tap Delete, then tap Done.
Delete this copy: Removes the item from iPhone, but it still appears on the bookshelf and can be downloaded again.
Delete from all devices: Removes the item from all of your iOS devices and from the bookshelf. You can download it again from Purchases in the iBookstore. See At a glance on page 109.

I have had my iphone 5 stolen and last backed up approx. 2 months ago. I don't think I've ever gone through and set up PhotoStream however it has always appeared on my phone. Is there any way of getting back messages/photos/etc from the past 2 months?

I have had my iphone 5 stolen/have lost my iphone 5. I haven't backed it up for a while (2 months?!) and I am not sure that I actually set up Photostream however it's always been on there from what I can tell (icon is there). Is there anyway of getting back contacts/messages/photos/anything from the phone onto my new replacement phone if it hadn't been backed up recently? I've got everything up until the last backup - contacts and messages aren't such an issue for me but the photos mean a lot!!!

If you are logged in to icloud with your same Apple ID. Go to setting on your phone>Photos & Camera and turn ON my Photo Stream.

I tried taking a back up from my iphone 3g to iphone 5s, but however on doing that only my contacts and my photographs got transferred but not my messages. Can anyone please let me know how I can take backup of my messages from my previous old iphone to my new iphone.

Transferring iCal dates, info, etc from old drive into a new iCal ?

My G5 died finally and I had to replace it w/a new drive. Apple Genius was able to recover all my old files thank god but I am now having the unfortunate task of trying to get everything back in order. In particular iCal. I see all the dates and stuff I'd like to just drag and drop but that's not working. What advice can someone give for trying to update older information from iCal, w/out having to copy/paste manually everything little thing? I want to get everything in order before I use Time Machine to back up everything up on this new drive.

You can do two different things that have worked for me in the past. You can export the calendars you want (File-->Export...) Then just import that file on the new computer.
Or you can back up iCal (File-->Back up iCal...) then use that file to restore iCal in the new calendar. When I did a restore in my new calendar it did not have ANY info so I don't know if a restore completely replaces everything in the current calendar files as well...but if you are starting fresh you may be OK>

How do I see photos, contacts etc from iphone on my computer and in icloud

I have activated icloud on my iphone and installed icloud on my computer. Photo Stream shows up in "compute" in windows explorer). But I am not seeing the pictures from my iphone on my computer. Neither are contacts, calendar etc syncing from my phone to icloud (on the web) or on my computer. I have signed into all with my apple id. In phone settings - icloud - All (contacts, calendars, reminders, and photo stream) are checked "on" and "My Photo Steam" is on as is shared photo streams. Isn't this supposed to be EASY?!?!?!

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked my settings and iTunes is not set to sync calendars. If have any other suggestions, I would appreciate any help! Thanks!

Really wish there is a section like trash can on iPhone, then we can get something back we deleted in bad emotion or by mistake!!!

Be aware it can take quite a while for it to restore.
If you need help restoring an iCloud backup
The restore process is taking a long time to finish.
The amount of time needed by the restore process depends on your geographical location and the speed of your Internet connection. Even with a fast Internet connection, the restore process might take 1 to 4 hours per gigabyte to complete
So if you have several gigabytes to restore, it may be an overnight process.
You might try backing up and restoring with a computer. See the section "Use iTunes" in this article:

Backing up the Camera Roll is one thing but how can I backup the Albums I have created on my ipad or iphone? Or do I have to recreate them from the camera Roll?

Importing camera roll photos to your PC using your usb cable will not preserve your albums. You would have to use an app like PhotoSync to do this, which will transfer your photos to your PC over wifi, including your albums.

Back it up using iTunes set to use local storage, not the iCloud, for faster results. When you plug in the new iPhone, iTunes will offer to restore from the just completed backup. Can callers leave call-back number/ send page from iPhone voicemail?

I have to use a medical answering service that sends patient's phone numbers for me to call. With my old Cingular/ATT voicemail (which generally sucked), a caller could press "1" during the greeting and enter a phone number that was sent as a text message to my phone. I then just pressed "call" to automatically dial the number.
Does my new iPhone's voicemail system offer this? Otherwise the answering service will have to leave a voicemail, I'll listen to it on my iPhone and then call the number. My memory is short and often don't have anything to write on, so I know I'll screw up some numbers...
I guess I could have them send a text message? But they're calling from land lines, so that might not work? If they could send a text message, is there a way to have the iphone dial the number in a text message?

Can I transfer email accounts back to my MAC from Iphone?

I posted this question in the MAC mail section of the discussion forums but got no response. Thought I would try here.
Two days ago my Macbook Pro HDD died:(
I took it into apple and they replaced it. I had LOADS of stuff backed up but somethings I did not. Such as all my email accounts and their respective settings and passwords. However- they are on my iphone. I was able to transfer all my contacts from my iphone to my computer but I cannot seem to figure out how to transfer email accounts. Is it possible? How do you do it?
