Back up music on computer but Ipod won't sync my music to itunes library

I backed up all of my music on my computer in the "My Music" folder. I did a restore on my ipod. Now itunes won't pick up my music saved to the My Music folder. I've reinstalled Itunes and restored the ipod a few times, but no matter what, it only picks up 300 of my 2009 songs. Please help.

To clear room on the hard drive of my Mac I followed forum instructions on how to export my iTunes library to an external hard drive. Worked a treat!
Except now my iPod Nano won't seem to sync with the latest podcasts I have downloaded.
Not even sure where to start troubleshooting this - any tips?

Problem resolved itself - delays must simply have been something to do with mapping to new drive.

Only iTunes purchased music can hava a cloud icon and then only if the music was purchased with the account listed in Settings>iTunes and App Store on the iPod.
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

I have the same problem too and tried alot of things like time zone , restarting or changing DNS of wifi connection to 8.8.8.8 still nothing happens .. !!

Did you downgrade iTunes? What version is listed in Help> About iTunes?
If you don't have iTunes 10.5.2, download it from here -> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you have iTunes 10.5.2, try re-creating your iTunes library.

After computer crash IPOD won't sync

Hi everyone,
I was the stupid one that didn't back up my I-Tunes Library and my hard drive crashed. The computer place replaced my hard drive and my songs from my IPOD are in my new library as "sharedpod". I have Windows XP. I have added new music to my library with no problem but my IPOD will not sync the music. I cannot add manually. I also cannot restore the IPOD, I thought that may help.

IPod won't sync all music to iTunes

I recently got a new Macbook Pro and needed to transfer over all of my music on iTunes from my old laptop. My iPod Touch has enough space to hold my entire iTunes library, so I synced it with the iTunes library on my old laptop, got everything onto it, and then synced it with my new Macbook Pro.
However, the iTunes on my Mac refuses to sync any music from my iPod that was not purchased from the iTunes store at some point. 75% of my music is from CDs and so 75% of my music will not transfer from my iPod to my iTunes.
I can't adjust anything on the tab on iTunes for syncing all music/entire library because I get a message saying if I do this all of the content on my iPod will be erased and replaced with what is currently in iTunes, which is barely anything.
All I've ever done is fought with iTunes every single time I try to do anything significant with it and I'm sick of it. I don't understand why iTunes won't simply take all the music from my iPod and put it into the library. That's all I want.
Please, can anyone help me with this?

OK after a long night I think I have answered my own question. I hope this helps others who may have experienced the same level of frustration I have.
If your music won't download from iTunes to your iPod because it is not 'authorised' see if this helps.
Go to the album or song that is not 'authorising'. Select it and push play. It should ask you for authorisation or a username and password. Put in your username and password, it should then go to iTunes store and it will now be authorised.
Be careful not to make the same mistake that I made and have multiple iTunes Store accounts. Mainly because I think it creates these problems on transfer of your library and secondly because you may not remember the password. If you forget the password, then simply get iTunes store to resend it. The only problem may be if your email account no longer exists. Mine does, so not sure what happens if it doesn't.
This in itself may not fix the problem either. I noticed on the left hand side of the music library, met to the song names etc, the '!" symbol in the column. This will also prevent it copying to your iPod. I am not technical, but it seems it lost the file path in transfer. Just double click the song and it will ask you if you want to find the path. Click yes and then search through iTunes library until you find the song. Double click the song and bingo you should now be able to transfer the music.
It took less time for me to finish by Business Degree, but its the only way I found to get around all the authorisation problems

I have one of the original IPOD's and just tried adding a bunch of songs, (200) and now that they're on my computer my ipod won't sync as it now says i need about 8.45 more gb. any thoughts on this?

I have one of the oriignal IPOD's circo 2006. I've got about 150 tunes on it which has been fine but today tried to add another 200 or so and was advised I need about 848 MB to load them. Is there any solution. I have 2 playlists. One with the original 150 tunes and one with the addiitional 200 tunes. Thoughts as now my IPOD won't sync at all and I don't want to delete any of the songs if I don't have to.

How much storage on the IPOD - I have one that has 60GB on it. Also have an IPOD shuffle that held less songs.
As your IPOD does not have enough storage for all of your songs, you have to create a list to sync to it that does not exceed the storage size.
For instance my IPOD shuffle had its only list of songs that did not exceed storage.
The IPOD gets them all because I only loaded the songs from my CDs that I really liked into ITUNES - leaving out the ones I skipped over.

IPod Won't Sync After Updating to iTunes 10

Whenever I click sync to add the music that I purchased in the online store, it says that it is syncing the ipod, but then stops and then loads on the ipod screen for it being okay to disconnect. I've reinstalled itunes 10, tried itunes 8 (wouldnt work because library was converted to itunes 10) and it still does this same exact thing where it won't sync my music from the library on my computer to the ipod.

Since upgrading iTunes I've noticed that not all of my podcasts will sync - one or two are always left out. Syncing again will get the stragglers, but it used to work just fine.
Another issue, possibly related, is I've seen an accumulation of 'Other' data on my iPod that I can't identify. I'm beginning to think it might be abandoned audio files from auto updating smart playlists that remove selections after they've been played. Doesn't happen with podcasts, though, because that smart playlist refuses to auto update on the iPod.

I just got a new computer for Christmas (yay!), but I can't do anything with the songs on my iPod when I plug it into the computer. I have some really old songs that I wanna get rid of, but there are many that I want to keep. The computer that I used to use doesn't have iTunes anymore. What can I do?

IPod won't sync my music

Hi there. I'm not exactly technically savy, and I've hit a wall as far as critically thinking is concerned with this issue. So, I cannot figure out what's wrong with my iPod.
I have a 5th Generation iPod and I'm having some problems uploading music. Earlier today, when I plugged in my iPod I realized that some music that I'd formerly purchased at the iTunes store was still on my iPod; I have since purchased the cd, erased the iTunes files from my computer, and downloaded the music from the cd.
An alert popped up saying something to the effect of: "You have purchased music on iPod that have been erased from computer; do you want to download them?" I quickly said yes because I forgot about this music. Then, I uploaded all of the checked items in my iTunes music library, including several playlists. It took a little tinkering (unchecking music that I didn't want to listen to), but I pared down my song selection and crammed the iPod practically to maximum capacity.
Later today, I realized that my iPod now had duplicate copies of the same album, so I tried to delete the purchased music from iTunes, and then update my iPod. But now it won't download that same amount of music??? I've reset, reinstalled, and restored my iPod, but I keep getting notices that it won't hold that same amount of music that it held earlier today.
What might I be leaving out of this process? Is there any way of telling how much I've gone over so I can cut out the appropriate amount of music?

So i've got a 32GB iPod Touch 4g running 4.3.5 (8L1). Every time I try to update it on my computer, it won't work (laptop running OS X Lion and iTunes 10.5); It constantly tells me that my iPod is ineligible for the selected build. Additionally, every time I hit the sync button in iTunes while my iPod is connected, it doesn't sync music; there is the loading screen saying that it is determining the tracks to sync, but never actually syncs anything. Any help on this would be very much appreciated; I've tried many things, including:
- Restarting my computer
- Attempting to restore iPod (Won't work)
- Trying to put it into DFU mode (Can't seem to enter DFU mode,

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Ok so i plugged my iPod in a few days ago to my computer to sync it. everything was going well until- "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer." Now, i went into 'store', clicked authorize, it worked, i can play them on my computer now. so when i go to sync them to my iPod, it still won't do it. I have done everything itunes support has told me to. The 5 R's, deleting certain files, putting the files in another folder and then back again. everything. i have spent well over $300 on stuff from the itunes store and cant just write all of it off. please keep in mind, i CAN play the songs on my computer. my computer IS authorized. it's just not transferring them to my iPod. i have a 5.1 generation iPod video and all of my music is on an 80g external hard drive.Please help!!! thanks.
