Back up nokia X3

Hi,
I got a serious problem, a have an update software from nokia so before i make a buckup from my phone : contact and all the other things.
Then I started hte update and now when I want to put back all my contactlist the phone starting up automaticly and de back up can't finisch the job..
Is there anyone who's can help me..
Thx A lot Johnny

..Else..you may try the following..
Create a Folder on the Desktop and name 'Contacts' ..
Download and install NbuExplorer (Google for it ..) on your PC. Open the application and then go to File -->Open .. Browse for the .nbu (Back-up) file that was taken during the Software update ... Then click on 'Contacts' in the Left Hand Side list .. All the Contacts that were backed-up will be shown in the Right Hand Top window ... Select ALL the contacts and Right Click -->Export Selected files .. Select the 'Contacts' folder on the Desktop as the destination ..
Now all the contacts will get stored in .vcf format in that folder ..
Open Nokia Suite -->Contacts-->File-->Import Contacts .. and select the contacts from the 'Contacts' folder on the Desktop ..All the contacts will now get stored in the Nokia Suite ..
Connect the phone to PC and in Nokia Suite, select all these contacts and Drag-and-Drop them on to the Phone Icon at the bottom ..
Hope this works ...

  • How to get money back for Nokia n97?

     Hi Guys!
I gave up with Nokia N97!!! I have a lot of problems with it. All of them are known. While this 2,5 months of using the device I was so **bleep** off and felt very uncomfortable while using it! Is that what we paid $700 for?? To see how good it is in the official video commercial and how damn SLOW, buggy and how bad the hardware is? I waited for software update and was hoping to see nice and fast device, oh! and working GPS! Instead - it's still the same "smart" which is most worse on nokia market. That's enough!
So now I have this question: How to get money back for Nokia n97 after 2,5 months of usage? or maybe exchange to n900? I will call to customer care center soon but maybe  someone of you have done this already and you can give some tips?
     Thank You!
     Cheers
     Hi guys!

put it up for sale, you have used it for over 30 days nokia will not give you a refund. sell it and buy yourself another device in this case. im giving mine away to a friend. he likes the n97 so its a win win

  • Contacts Back Up Nokia 6300 on PC Suite

I am having problems with PC Suite, I don't seem to be alone! I have had a look through some of the previous posts but can't get the following sorted.
I have made a back up of my contacts etc via PC Suite from my Nokia 6300. The problem is viewing the contacts via the file manager. It only shows 3 of the contacts out of over 100. All are saved to the phone not the SIM. I am therefore not able to confirm the back up is accurate, or edit any of the contacts on my PC. The three that are showing I added to this new phone the others are copied to the phone from SIM when I put it in the new phone but as far as I can see they are all stored on the phone in exactly the same way!
It seems to be a bit of a tempramental programme, I didn't have this problem with my Motorola using a different programme.
I am using Window XP SP2, version 6.83.14.1 of PC Suite and have tried conecting via a cable and bluetooth.

No you are not alone... In order to update the firmware to 7.118, I backed up my 6300 using PC Suite and now I cannot anymore restore all of its contents.
The restoration sequencially restores SMS, contacts, and phone settings. In my case the process stops with an error in the middle of my contacts, without resuming execution for the next contact or the phone settings. The failing contact is always the same. This contact has the particularity to have 2 address lines, so it might be that this special case is not supported by the restoration program... this is just speculation from my side, it can be anything else of course.
Anyway the consequence is that I have now half of my contacts and all of the phone settings left behind in the nbu file.
Appreciated the solution mentioned to use Outlook, but this won't save my settings, nor will save specificities of my contacts that are not compatible with Outlook.
Personally I am not sure this is related to this particular phone model (6300), but must be an issue of PC Suite itself (either the backup or the restore program).
Generally speaking backup and restoration should be the most robust (same level of reliability as the OS itself), otherwise we cannot count on them to execute other programs. Thus they must be simple, like copying files and must mainly rely on the OS. In this funny case, running the phone updater has been safer than the safety measures taken!

  • SMS - PC Suite back to Nokia

    Hi...
I had to restore my Nokia E72 and I save all my things to Nokia Suite and the phone numbers I got back to my phone, what about SMS ? Can I put it back on my phone? I tried SYNC messages but I think it only works to sync in to the Suite ...
    Thanks

How did you save the messages in Nokia Suite ? Were they synced and currently visible in the Nokia Suite? If yes, after connecting the phone, select them and Drag-and-Drop to the corresponding folder at the bottom next to the phone icon ..

  • Back up nokia 6630

    Hello everybody,
I'm trying to back up all my sms on my pc. I have installed the Nokia Pc Suite software, I backed up all the photos and contacts, but I can't save the messages... 560 messages...please help me.
    tnks!
    elena

What happens when you try (what are the exact error messages displayed, if any)?
Are you trying to use the PC Suite's Content Copier (backup/restore) application, or PC Suite's Messages application?
Are your messages in default folders in the Messaging application, or folders you've created yourself?
Do you have the latest PC Suite from http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite or are you using some older version?

You have to actually tell Nokia this is a users forum so your message in effect is not heard by Nokia .

  • N95 8GB, knew it was a mistake going back to Nokia

    Hi all,
The other night the N-Gage demo app thingy stopped launching. Didn't matter what I did it just wouldn't launch. Tried powering off then back on, no luck. Tried removing battery and powering back on, no luck.
In desperation I tried a restore to factory defaults, no luck. Finally I saw how to do a hard reset, yay success!!
Unfortunately now I've done that Spiderman 3 won't play, and the demo apps Bejewelled, Sims 2, Tetris, eBay, Midnight (whatever), Pro Golf, Google Maps, Messenger, Vodafone Music, and Youtube will neither start nor allow themselves to be removed.
    What a crock!
Anyone have ANY idea how I can resolve these issues?
    TIA
    Alistair

It's all part of Nokia's charm.. If not.. It's the love it/hate it thing again. I don't have all the problems you've listed.. But I got a couple and get the rest of the picture. Problem is.. I feel as if this forum doesn't reach the Nokia personnal who actually look into this and take care of it. Besides.. This model is, well I heard.. It's the Nokia flaghip. I don't know.
    peace up.

Does Nokia have product Beta-Testing nowadays?

    Don't need too much words.
Nokia vs Others (iPhone, Andriod, ect...)
Nokia S60 is a good Mobile OS, but Nokia nerver gives "All Users" the "Full Feature" of "S60". The feature is different even on the "Same Model" at different region.
Yes, "Push to Talk" / "Some Other Feature" is not supported by our operator, but you should make that feature open to all "Nokia Users".  We buy a Nokia Phone is not restricted by Any Operator.
(Someone at this forum always says like "The phone do support "Push to Talk" / "Some Other Feature", but it need operator supporting, so it is disabled by default")
"iPhone" or "Andriod" is not our choice if Nokia can give "All Nokia Users" the "Full Feature".
Nokia should implement "All Missed Features" and put it back into "All Models" (Including Old Models), then you can bring back all Users soon, it is not late if you do it the right.

Haha, does apple give you 'FULL FEATURES'??

  • BRING BACK/UPDATE NOKIA PHOTOS / LIFEBLOG! OVI IS ...

I lost my n97 last week and have now had to get n8,has great hardware but unfortunately it wont work with nokia photos or suite which was by far the best way of storing my photos texts videos on a timeline with geotagging. I had 3 years worth of this lifeblog (30gb!) which has now ended so I have to put up with this rubbish Ovi which doesn't compare , unfortunately there isn't ANY software or other kind of phone that does what nokia photos did. Please nokia, make the n8 compatible with Nokia photos it can't be that hard.

Nokia made a mistake in making the N8 incompatibled with Lifeblog /Nokia Photos . It is obvious that a product which has excellent camera etc should have followed the life tools concept.I have discarded my newly bought N8 and gone back (forward actually) by buying a new condition N95 , which is compatible, at a reasonable price.I feel like Nokia has "punished" loyal followers like myself and their image to me has suffered a lot.

  • Backing up nokia 6230 phone numbers

    Hi there,
I need to back up my nokia 6230 phone numbers. how do I do that? I have the USB cable just need to know how to manipulate OSX and related software.
    cheers,
    Noah

How long time did you guys wait ? My backup file is 80MB and it takes a loooong time in that phase (10mins...?) and then it is finished all of a sudden. Making backup is a good thing, but it certainly is not fast.

  • Backing up Nokia 6233

    hello there:
I tried to back up my nokia 6233 using PC Suite, but I always failed to do so, and I always had a message telling me "the phone was disconnected, Please reconnect your phone and try again". I tried every trick I know, I fully charged my phone, I connected my phone to the charger, I restored factory settings, I disabled screen saver, I disabeld phone bettery saver, I treid every thing, still I cannot back up my phone.
beside that I'm still waiting "like those hundreds" for nokia 6233 to be listed in Phone software updater. Please Nokia Team, tell us If 6233 is ever going to listed.

    Thanks in advance,

Maybe you could find some third party plugin for your phone? I have found one for the N73. Try MacMonster's site
As I do not currently own a Mac, I cannot test operability for myself. But most users whom I know to have used the plugin reported no problems. This plugin enables you to sync your phone with iSync. As I said, I have found a plugin for my N73. Who knows you might be lucky for your 6233!
    Break a leg!
Edit: Click EDITED to download the suitable iSync plugin for your phone. Note that the site is in German. I'll provide the English installation instructions (which you can also find on the developer's site) below:
    1. Protect if possible all data (contacts, notes, pictures and dates) of both devices
    2. Delete your telephone from the device list of Bluetooth and iSync!
    3. Switch Bluetooth off on Mac and at the mobile phone
    4. Quit iSync, if this is opened
    5. Copy the directory “PhonePlugins” (marked green) including contents with Apple (Command) + C and insert it into the highest LIBRARY on your hard disk
    6. If the directory already exists, then only take the contents from my (the developer's) directory into the existing directory “PhonePlugins”
    7. Pair the Phone with your Mac and start iSync

  • Can I move back from Nokia Belle to lower version ...

I installed Belle on my E6 and having a lot of trouble with it. Main issue is that wherever there is an option key at the center of row at bottom, Touch functionality is disabled at center. I am not able to activate the center key.
This means, I cannot even set an alarm, cannot add locations in World Clock menu, cannot search programs from main menu, etc...
    Need immediate solution please...

Jimmy, it pains me to jump ship from Nokia. I don't take it lightly. I have been using Nokia phones for years. In fact right now I am using my 5 year old beat up old falling apart E71 while waiting for the S3 to arrive. The E71 is a way better phone that the E6. If the E6 had been built on S60 then we wouldn’t be having this discussion. I don’t care about album art flow and pretty icons and “Retina” screens, etc. I want a phone that is solid and works. Other than the camera (and it didn’t even have AF), the E6 was a huge disappointment across the board and Belle made it worse.
Android is not what I would call a great OS and I am not looking forward to the switch but the choices are limited: Android, WP8 and iOS. And I am not going to use an Apple product. I demo’ed a 920 and it just didn’t feel like a Nokia. It may have Nokia hardware but what made Nokia great was Symbian and I am not talking about Belle. The Lumia feels like a Microsoft product. It doesn't really matter if it says Nokia or HTC or Samsung on the package, it's still driven by WP8. Symbian is what made Nokia unique and fun. Stuff that I loved about the E71 is no longer found on any Nokia products.
I mean no disrespect, but the Nokia products and features that I loved are now gone, nowhere to be found.

  • Re-sent my 808 back to Nokia for inconsitent flash...

My 808 in Creative or Pureview mode set to ISO - Manual Mode is ignored as the flash is in full auto everytime I press the shutter. This results in photos that can range from very dark to very overexposed.
The colors are also affected by inacurate white balance.

Whenever flash is kept on, the ISO settings is ignored. This is what the truth is with 808 and you all should accept it.
Nothing can be done to it cause its neither a bug nor an issue! Many cameras tend to be like this only.
