Back up of personal data and settings

I've upgraded to Yosemite and have been hounded by back up to back up my personal data and settings to idisk which it informs me hasn't been done since 2008. This is curious and clearly off base but should I do anything in response? And, how does one stop the backup prompts?

You need to have a backup, preferably 2 on 2 separate drives. Oops happen.

I currently have a 3G with iOS 4.2.1 and should be upgrading to a 4G or 4S (not sure - depends on what work gives me) running iOS 5 or higher. Will a simple back-up of my 3G be enough to transfer all my data and settings to the new handset?

How can I sync my iPhone 4 with a new MacBook Pro without losing all my data and settings?

I used to sync my iPhone 4 with a PC running Windows XP until the hard drive died. Thankfully, I already had a backup of all my iTunes media (Songs, TV Shows, Movies, Podcasts, Apps, etc), so when I bought a new MacBook Pro, transferring my iTunes library was easy.
My problem now is that I want to sync my iPhone 4 with my new MacBook Pro without losing all the data and settings. I have already used iTunes to back it up and transfered my purchases onto the mac. I just need help to sync the iPhone with the Mac without losing app data, emails, contacts, settings.
Everytime I click on the tabs (to sync contacts, apps, music, et al), I get an error message that reads:
"Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone “Ryan's iPhone” will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library."
What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im getting so frustrated, is there any way to just stop the process and roll back the changes made? Would it do any harm if i press on my home key and power button the same time? Thanks!

Something has gone wrong, on an iPhone 3Gs the erase all operation should be instantaneous. Disconnect your phone & force it into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, select "new".

Erasing all Content and Settings completely erases the phone. Your purchases should be in your iTunes library. If not, connect your phone to iTunes, make sure your computer is authorized for all Apple IDs used to purchase your media (in Store>Authorize This Computer), then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer your purchases to your iTunes library. You can then selectively remove media from your phone without erasing the entire phone, and sync it back later as desired.

The only other place to change a password for the computer login is in Users & Groups preferences. But I don't really know enough here to fix your problem. You can try fixing the keychain:

I have configured personal data and address infotypes in ESS for the country grouping 99.
I have done the following config
1. Assign Screen Structure to Infotype Versions
2. Define Active Subtypes and Use Case
3. Define Country-Specific Applications
4. Created a Z service and then assigned this service to subarea.
I made use of US service and copied to z.
after the config when i log on to the portal and check the personal data or address links am getting the error:

Hello there, can someone help me please. I erased all data and settings last night and now my IPAD just shows a line across it with the apple logo. It is not responding to the on / off switch. I have connected the IPAD to my laptop so i can reinitilise it but nothing is happening - it doesn't appear as a device on my laptop (the USB port is working OK) Has anyone else experienced this and how did you overcome it?
