Back up or ghost of system
Hi,
When I do back ups on my PC laptop there is a wizard that I can use that allows me to do a full back up or a ghost backup onto my external hard drive.
On my mac so far I have been just picking out individual files that I want to back up and dragging and dropping them onto the hard drive but I would like to do a full ghost backup.
Is this possible on my mac?
Thanks in advance.
Alison.
Or there's SuperDuper. It's Tiger ready, easy to use and a little quicker then Carbon Copy Cloner (also a good program). This is a free demo, but if you buy the full version you can do incremental backups.
You should use Disk Utility to repair your startup disk (hard drive) as shown in Dr.Smokes repair thread before you make a clone of it.
Doing the things in his link is a good start for a monthly maintenance program.
Cheers!

When I click on the Music tab on my Apple TV 2, a message tells me I have to set up iTunes Match to stream music from my iTunes library on my iMac. I don't want to set up and pay for iTunes Match. How can I get back to the pre-Match system which let me just use home sharing to stream music from computer to Aple TV
Ditto.
You need to look for your itunes library under Computers and select it, then music.
Music column is for web based content not local content, just to confuse everyone.

IOS 8.3 uses too much battery power. Can I remove it and go back to the previous operating system?
Downgrading is not supported.
As a test, restore as a new phone, not from a backup, and see if the battery life is better. You can restore from a backup after your test. -
I can't go beyond release 3.6 because it slows my system down to a crawl. When I back the upgrade out and go back to 3.6 my system is fine. Any suggestions?

What does SQL write to that allow changes to be undone or rolled back in case of a system failure?
What does SQL write to that allow changes to be undone or rolled back in case of a system failure?
Hello,
If i read your question correctly you are asking about how uncommited transaction are rolled back. For this, concept of transaction log came into picture.where first changes were first made to transaction log and then into memory .Before any change is made
to real data file change is made to trn log files so that if rollback comes it can see in log and rollback it.
I would suggest you to read Famous article by log which will explain you

Can I get rid of Lion and go back to the previous operating system? I bought Apple because it was simple. I went from loving my Mac to absolutely hating it.

Yosemite looks like a downgrade, flat, childish and no more ability to make the view of anything personal. How do I go back to the previous operating system?
Erase your hard drive using Disk Utility from the Recovery HD, then restore your old system from your backups.

What's the go with this latest update. Half my apps don't work and the iPad runs slower? How do I go back to the old operating system?
Make sure your apps are updated. You might try Settings > iTunes & App Store > Automatic Downloads - Updates = "On".
You cannot go back to an old operating system. -
After downloading LION is there any way to go back to the old operating system?
or once you get lion, there is no going back?
Any way to system recover my mac like you can on a pc? and get all my stuff back if something is lost?
thanks!I'm unclear on what you're asking. If you're looking for a way to downgrade, that's not an easy process. If you didn't make a full system backup just before upgrading, you have to erase the hard drive, reinstall your old OS and then use the setup assistant to import data from some backup.
If you're just curious how to handle things if the hard drive dies and the system needs reinstalling, note that you can create a Mac OS X install disk from the Lion installer. If you no longer have a copy of the installer (which self-deletes after installing), hold down option and click Purchased in the App Store, then click Install next to Lion. Then just quit the installer once it downloads, since you're already running Lion.
You can also boot into the recovery partition by holding down command+R while starting up. That'll let you repair or reinstall, but obviously won't work if the entire hard drive dies.
As to getting your stuff back... you're responsible for backing up. You need to keep a minimum of two good backups on separate media. Time Machine works well for one of those, something like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper works will for others. -

KateHi
There are many different ways to backup the date from android device.
You can use some 3rd party backup apps (check the Google Play store for available apps) or you can use the Android internal option to backup the data, application, Wifi passwords and other settings to google servers.
Such option can be found in App Apps -> Settings -> Backup & Restore -
I own an iPhone 4S and have installed ios8. Subsequently none of my apps will work. How do I uninstall and go back to the previous operating system?
Good luck at the Genius bar.
I have figured out that if I do a hard restart of the phone the apps will work for a time, but then they begin to all freeze up again after a short time.
This may be a problem of not enough free storage. Have you checked the storage used by your apps?

Is there a way to go back to the old calendar system rather than the ios7 calendar? The ios7 calendar in the iphone does not allow one to see the exact time of appointments in the month mode, it is not user friendly. It's lost its flexibility. How can I go back to the old operating system?
I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

Having problems launching iTunes on my pc. Had iTunes on this particular pc for over a year. Have downloaded all of the new updated versions. Now I get an error message saying "This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall." I have backed up the pc to an earlier date when when the program was working, and also performed serveral system diagnosis all saying the program is incompatible. Searched for several compatible programs, none worked. All this happened several days after visiting iTunes. I'm afraid that if I reinstall iTunes that I will loose everything and have to start all over. Eventhough everything is saved in an iCloud account and this particular pc. Never had a problem till now. Appreciate any help. Thank you, cld
Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now? -
I have a MacBook in Japan. I had to reinstall my system using an older version of the disc that came with my computer because I was locked out and now I can't get back any of my purchased applications, not any of the software updates. On my account it shows the purchases. How can I get them back? None of the websites, such as iTunes seem to explain that...
Thank you in advance,
