Back up PE10

I am new to Photoshop Elements 10 and I have just done a full back up. However, when I open the discs, there are no photographs, just data. Is this correct?

The PSE backup is meant for PSE's own use and it's not always easy to find your photos in there. If you want to make a backup for your own use, you can backup your photos and then go to the Help menu in the organizer to see the location of your catalog file and make a copy of that, too.

Sorry. We are just fellow video editors and can not provide legal advice. But I doubt you can prove a lot of pain and suffering over one feature.
Where does it say the archiver will trim a clip -- and have you tried both archiver options?
Version 10 is, by the way, a year and a half old. If you purchased it from Adobe, did it take you this long to discover it didn't perform as you expected? Purchases directly from Adobe can usually be refunded within 30 days.

No windows shows up in PE10

In the last three days I've hade the same problem:
After working on a project (making video of still images), saving, closing and restarting the computer, I can't open the project again properly the next day.
When media is finished loading, there is no windows showing in PE. No error messages appears, but the monitor, timeline and editing(?) windows never appears.
There is no problem opening a new project though. I can still make my videos if I complete the project in one working day...
Any ideas what's wrong?

Cannot get any movement in Monitor window when playing a clip (PE10); preview frame of clip(s) simply shows a white screen. Have gone through standard settings analysis, etc.

Computer stats:
OS = Windows 8.1, 64-bit
RAM = 32 G

PE10 & Dazzle.

A while ago I read a lot of suggestions for downloading/copying old VHS tapes into PE10 using Dazzle. From my point of view none of them worked electronicaly. So I reverted to a practical way and used dazzle to download into my copy of Pinnacle Studio HD, rendering to an AVI file and then uploading into PE10. Works perfectly but not very efficient. QUESTION: Could anybody tell me of a Dazzle like 'machine' that will capture old VHS tapes and/or anything else directly into PE10? robo_col

Unfortunately, the Dazzle devices seem to be problematic, and even with Pinnacle Studio. Few users were ever able to get them to properly Capture from analog sources. It has been many years, since I was last on the Pinnacle Studio forum, but back then, there were tons of problems mentioned. Do not recall anyone ever getting any real solutions - some times they worked, but all too often, they did not.

MP4 Videos in PE10

I am using PE10 and have several mp4 video files that I would like to put onto a standard dvd to play on television dvd player (not blu-ray)...I would like to put several files together and edit them to make a menu with scene selections...can anyone tell me how to do this please...

If you want to view your .mp4 files using your DVD player, then you are going to have to get them into a video presentation in DVD-VIDEO format on a DVD disc.
This is the general idea as a first pass at this...
a. Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Set the project preset in the new project dialog = NTSC DV Widescreen (if NTSC setup) or PAL DV Widescreen (if PAL setup).
There are technical considerations here that I sparing you at this time. Right now, I am just interested in the Edit area monitor space that the above project preset will supply in the Edit area monitor for your 854 x 480 source resolution that indicate that you have.
b. Edit...Timeline markers if you are planning for a disc menu
c. Disc Menu
d. Export

As an aside, are you having any display problems with Premiere Elements 10. It is good that you do not have a NVIDIA GeForce video card. So, you escaped that epidemic. But, your computer appears to use 2 video cards. Typically Premiere Elements does not work well with 2 video card systems. So, any display problems, please let us know right away.

Sync Music audio with Video Audio PE10

Hi.
I am new to Premiere elements 10 (Changed from Corel to Adobe, so i'm not new to video editing, but I'm not used to PE10).
I am filming a lot of my daughters Circus performances, so very often I find the music number used at the performance and merge that with the video audio in the project.
But I have a problem syncing the music from the audio track on the video with the seperate music track.
So to specify: I want both Audio tracks running at the same time, so that I keep the clapping and the whisteling from the audience, but get the better quality of the music from the external file merged with the music in the video-audio-clip.
Is there a special tool or can someone help me with a special tecnique?

Along with the instructions offered above, when nudging the Audio, I would make sure that Snap is OFF, as Snap will try to align your Audio with the beginning (Head), or end (Tail), of you Video Clips. That is useful for many editing operations, but for nudging Audio will frustrate you. The Snap function is a toggle with the S key. Just do not forget to turn it back ON, when done.
Also, though the Soundtrack Audio Track seems to be the ideal location for your extra music, some users have experienced issues, when using it, or the Narration Audio Track. While it seems that those issues are Project-specific, and those Tracks often work well, to keep from being tripped up later, I recommend putting your music on a free Audio Track, such as Audio 2 - just to be safe.
Also, with either an Audio, or Video Track, you can Zoom IN/OUT horizontally with the Timeline Zoom slider, AND can also Zoom IN/OUT vertically, by going to the Track's Header (where the Track Name is located), then hovering your cursor over the little line between the Track, until it changes to an equal sign with up/down arrows, then click+drag, to enlarge the Track (and the Clip display) vertically. I find that this makes viewing the Audio Waveform Display easier, and the peaks are more obvious. When done, you can just reverse that operation to Zoom OUT on the Track vertically, so that it looks like it did, before you started.

PE10 print spooler slow

I recently upgraded to PE10 and I am having problems with slow print spooling to my HP Photosmart B5500. I do not have any issues with any other software. The diagnostics and test print for the B5500 were perfect, so the problem has to be with PE10. I uninstalled PE10 and reinstalled it thinking it was a download glitch, but I still have the problem. It took over 1/2 hour to spool a simple title (just "Mountain") on scrapbook paper. I even Merged Down my layers to make it a smaller file to get it to load faster.
Can anyone help me? I am ready to go back to PE7, but I would rather not, because of the new features in PE10. Thanks

PE10 MPEG2 audio drop out?

Hi, have been editing several Canon HDV1080i PAL mpeg2 files in PE10 over last few weeks. Same mpeg2 files are being used, just editing the scenes. Just had one of the mpeg2 files audio dissapear 100% on me across all the scenes I use it for. Been working fine up to now. I am on holiday and have brought my hard drive with files to edit on a laptop (usually editing on my home PC), so this may be causing the problem in terms of conforming the files into laptop, although laptop has latrest quicktime etc.
Just seeing if any common answers may be out there (have done some searching through past posts). Back home tomorrow, so hopefully back on PC the problem goes away?? cheers.

When you add a clip to your Premiere Elements project, the program must conform it before it can play it. If you interrupt the conforming process before the file is completely conformed, the audio will drop off or not appear at all.
Clear the clip from your Project Assets, then use Add Media/From Files and Folders to bring it back in. This time, give it a couple of minutes to fully conform. (Messages along the bottom of the program will tell you that the file is conforming.) Once it's fully conformed, it should work just fine (assuming the corruption isn't on the clip itself.)

Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

Add On...This NVIDIA GeForce situation is specific for Premiere Elements 10. You should not expect to see the problem for

I sorry for your experience, but there is no way to recovery the data encryped by BitLocker untill now.
BitLocker is designed to make the encrypted drive unrecoverable without the required authentication. When in recovery mode, the user needs the recovery password or recovery key to unlock the encrypted drive. Therefore, we highly recommend
that you store the recovery information in AD DS or in another safe location.

How can you get your data back on i tunes

I have i phone and i have i tunes here is my problom. last night i formatted my HP windows 7 computer and i backed up my pictures and backed up i tunes witch i thoght i did becasue i backed it up on my external 500 MB hard drive and with out making a folder and c oping i tunes i only backed up library and before the format i went to edit, preferences and adavaned in i tunes (sorry about the bad spelling) becasue apples's step by step i read and saw the pictures were to go and i thought i can back up i tunes that way. My phone has 333 songs all my pictures apps and contacts and there is no way to re copy from the phone back in to i tunes i do not use i cloud becasue (one i do not want to pay for more space) and 2 the free version tells me i do not have enough space to back it up so i am worried one sync i will lose all my info. these songs are from cd's i have and off the Internet before the courts stopped Napster and Lime Wire. Sos what should i do just unstalli tunes and leave my computer as a re charging stastion? or is there any secret way to get all my things back then this time i can make a folder and do it right in case the next time i have to re format my drive from a problems or need to what is the best case here?

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

It seems to me that if Microsoft's platform can not fix it with the troubleshooter that the troubleshooter sucks. It does not know when errors are thrown so your developer sucks on creating software for errors that are popping up in your software?
if a error is thrown in Windows 8 it should catch it upon a thrown error in programming? This hsould be a level 1 ticket. Since when I call you support for error in your product no one wants to address problems in your software and get mea tech to resolve

The question now is how do I fix this and why is it causing me an internal error 500 for my web server install?
I may have other issues but I need access to my web server through my browser I used fsocketopen to troubleshoot it?

Most of my equipment has toasted, and I need the data back.

I must have been a very, very bad person in a past life. This week has been more technologically harrowing than I'd thought possible.
My cherished Titanium Powerbook died after a valiant battle, and the Apple techs said that there was nothing they could do, Apple just doesn't support such antiques (not sure if they meant me or the PB). They did let me download my files onto my 80G Smartdisk FireLite, and though the PB hard drive was acting a bit wonky and transfer was slow, I got most of the files. Most everything already had been backed up on the FireLite, but I grabbed the remainder. This means that My Entire Life resided on the FireLite.
I was about to download the files onto the G4 cube, and plugged in a USB hub with an optical mouse and a jump drive on it--and something started to burn. The jump drive, the mouse, and the hub fried. Now it looks as though the well-named FireLite is toast too, since though it powers up, it won't mount and nothing recognizes it. The cube is fine.
I still have the hard drive from the late lamented Powerbook, so if it holds up a bit longer, I ought to be able to save most if not all the files. Can I do this myself if I can get an external case to power the PB drive? And if the PB drive does indeed hold up, could I continue to use it? (This would be helpful, since the MacBook Pro won't run Classic, which is necessary in the short term for all my current programs and most peripherals.)
If an external case is feasible, can someone give me specs for what to get? I'm hoping it's affordable, though I'd also look for one to borrow.
If it isn't feasible, would someone please shoot me now?

Just one thought to add: I would get a FireWire enclosure so if you ever want to clone an entire HD on a Mac, you would then have a secure backup which was also able to boot said Mac.

Back up using time machine and external hard drive

Hello,
I am having a difficult time deciding the best way to back up important documents.
I have:
1TB internal hard drive
3 TB external hard drive and
1TB external hard drive
I currently have about 1TB worth of data to be stored, but that will increase to about 1.5TB once I get a bunch of stuff off the HD camera's hard drive. I would like to keep my internal hard drive somewhat free to keep the computer running fast, but also want to make sure I am properly backed up.
Should I put ALL (or nearly all) of the files on the 3 TB external hard drive, and have time machine back that up and not worry about the rest? I'm a little weary about putting all of the files on one device even if it is backed up by TM.
If I do this, do I need to back up the 3 TB external drive in addition to using TM?
