Backdate to Garageband 1.4.1 on iPad 2?

I updated Garageband for both my iPad and my Mac recently.
After realizing that Garageband 10 for Mac ***** a great deal, I backdated to Garageband 6.
The problem is, Garageband 2 for the iPad isn't compatible with Garageband 6 for the Mac.
Is there any way to revert my iPad version as well?
I saw a thread where people were able to find a link in the App Store, but they could only get it if they didn't have iOS7 installed...

Not sure why it censored me there...

  • How can I copy GarageBand projects to a new iPad?

I recently got a new iPad Air 2 running 8.1.1  and I wanted to transfer GarageBand projects from my old iPad 3 running 8.1.2 to my new device. I found this harder than I expected.
You'd think the help instructions I found at http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/1.0/index.html#chsec12c387 would be sufficient, but some of the steps didn't work for me. Was it because I was running Windows on my partnered PC  rather than a Mac?  What this help link doesn't tell you is that, as difficult as it is for me now to navigate around and find my devices after recent changes to iTunes, that all that's available for File Sharing are GarageBand projects that have already been Exported to iTunes.  However, then I ran into problems with these instructions "Send a GarageBand Song to iTunes".  Step 1- the only place I see My Songs on my old iPad is at the edit screen of a project. When I hit My Songs, it shuts down that recording session and switches to a list of songs, but there is no Export Song button, just a plus sign in the upper left.  Hitting the plus doesn't get me to " Export Song button", it gets me to "Create New Song" or " Copy From iTunes File Sharing". It took me a long time to figure out I had to Select a song first, then the icons in the upper left changed and one icon gave me a way to upload to iTunes. Not at all like the help instructions, but at least I could get a project to File Sharing. (or Dropbox) However, if I selected more than one project, the Upload button grayed out.  I had 40 projects to transfer, so I wanted to find a solution that would be better than this.
I looked at Re: Import a proyect from garage band to ipad  and It is really unacceptable that I cannot transfer my garageband format songs from iPad to iTunes for windows and then add them to my new iPad.  Any ideas?  but they weren't matching up to my problem.  However, it was nice to find out about iFun http://www.i-funbox.com/ , which looks more understandable than iTune File Sharing.
What I eventually discovered was I could select multiple GB projects on the old iPad, and still have the Upload to iCloud icon available in the upper left.  All my remaining GB projects went to iCloud in one step and eventually they started to appear in GB on my new iPad Air, except that I had to buy some more iCloud storage.
Is this really the only way to move many GB projects to a new iPad?

    Hello marcia999,
This can be done through the Filesharing pane in iTunes (when the iPad is connected).
iMovie for iOS (iPad): Import from iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3239
If you created a project or trailer on an iOS device (such as iPad or iPhone) and sent the project to iTunes, you can then import the project to another compatible device through iTunes.
Import a project or trailer from iTunes
Connect your device to your computer, then open iTunes on your computer. After a moment, your device appears in iTunes, below Devices on the left.
Select the device, then click Apps at the top of the iTunes window.
Select iMovie in the Apps list below File Sharing (you may need to scroll to see it).
Click Add below the iMovie Documents pane; in the window that appears, navigate to the file you want to add.
Select the file, then click Open to copy the file to your device. The file appears in the iMovie Documents pane when copying is complete.
Open iMovie on your device; if you’re not in projects view, tap the My Projects button in the upper-left corner above the viewer.
Tap the Import button at the bottom of the screen, then tap the name of the project you want to import. When the import is complete, the project opens and can be edited like any other project.
    Cheers,
    Allen

  • HT4692 Ok.  Now how to I get the garageband file BACK onto my iPad?

Ok.  I have successfully transferred garageband files from my ipad to my itunes into file sharing and then saved them onto my mac in a file.  Now, the question is.... how do I (after deleting garageband files off of my ipad) put them BACK on???
My iPad is just too full because of my garageband files.  I want to be able to take these files off and put back on certain ones when I would like to work on them again.  Thanks -R

    Step 1
First you put the the GarageBand Project back onto the GarageBand Documents area of you iTunes File Sharing section and make sure your iPad syncs with iTunes.
    Step 2
Now in GarageBand, go to the My Songs window, click the + button and select "Copy from Tunes". You should see all the GarageBand Projects that are available in your iTunes FIle Sharing section (from step 1). Tap on it to copy the Project to the My Songs window.
    Now you can open it.
    Hope that helps

  • Garageband 6.0.5 for ipad

I have recently purchased an iPad and it has only Garageband in the Mavericks version. I also own a MacBook Pro, which I have purchased before Mavericks and I also have the previous version of Garageband 6.0.5 - I use it a lot as it comes with the podcast function that was deleted with Mavericks.
How do I download the ipad Garageband 6.0.5 for iPad? It is not available in Itunes.

Before you can update your preinstalled GarageBand from the AppStore, you need to accept it to your AppleID, if you have not already done so.
Otherwise you will not be able to update using the AppStore.
    See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718:
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.
Make sure you are still signed into the AppStore. Then try again to start the download of the missing loops and and instruments by clicking onto a missing loop. Select "Download later". Then look at the "Purchased" tab at the AppStore.
If the download still hangs, check your security settings at the AppStore, see:
Apple ID: Security and your Apple ID
If your password or your answers to the security questions are too short, your request may not go through, but you will not receive an error message to that fact. In that case sign into "MyAppleID" and reset your security questions.
But that alone may not suffice.
To make the additional content appear you may have to do the full monty and deinstall GarageBand completely, reboot, then reinstall.
When selecting a loop to update, selct to "Update later", and then open the App Store to look for an update.

Can one move or upload a garageband project done on an iPad into logic for further and finer tweaking?

Share your GarageBand iPad project to iTunes as a project. Then you can import it into GarageBand and upgrade it to a GarageBand Mac project. And Logic can open GarageBand for Mac projects.

  • Terrible noise recording with Apogee Mic in Garageband on iPhone 4S and iPad 3rd generation, both IOS 6

    Hey guys
I get a terrible noise on the audiotracks recording with Apogee Mic in Garageband on iPhone 4S and iPad 3rd generation, both have IOS 6 installed.
Apogee support have not been helpfull, neither Google, but maybe you guys have experienced the same problem?
I tried to test on an iPhone 4 with IOS 5 installed and it worked fine, clean recordings, no noise.
    Regards Rico

Strange nobody have experienced the same problem
Well, I think I fixed the noise issues myself.
Have you ever noticed the noise from your stereo speakers when you recieve a sms?
Well, the noise I experienced all the time was that kind of 'sms noise'.
What seems to eliminate the problem is this:
    In settings,
    - turn "Airplane mode" off
    - turn "Do not disturb" off (this is a new setting in IOS 6)
Maybe this can be helpful to somebody else
    Regards

  • Garageband doesn't respond to iPad MIDI Keyboard

I downloaded a free iPad app called Pad MIDI.  I finally got my iMac to see my iPad over the network, but when I press a key in the iPad app, Garageband is not responding.  It's possible it's the app itself, but I don't want tp spend money on an actual app if it's just something I'm doing wrong.
I'm pretty sure Garageband sees the the iPad though because when I "connect" the iPad in Audio Midi Setup's MIDI Stuido, Garageband reports "The number of MIDI inputs has changed.  Now 2 inputs are available."

Not sure what I did, but it's working now.  Thanks Me   Probably jsut needed to close and reopen something.

  • Transferring GarageBand files from iTunes to iPad 2

I haven't discovered a way to transfer GarageBand files from the MacBook Pro via iTunes to my iPad with GarageBand installed.
I have selected 3 simple files i have done and added them to the GarageBand list on the Apps screen in iTunes. Each is a .band file and doesn't contain any plugins or video.
Each time I sync and open GarageBand on the iPad 2, I select the load icon that is supposed to show these three files from iTunes. Nothing is there.
    Did I miss something?

    Deacon272 wrote:
But that begs the question, "Why the Load File icon?" It doesn't have any function per se that I can see.
i believe that its purpose at this time is for shareing GBi projects between iPads. perhaps a future releasse will allow for GBX to GBi transfers. if it's a feature you want, be sure to let Apple know:

  • Can i get garageband on both macbook and iPad just by buying it once

I have iLife disc n i installed garage band on my macbook n in appstore it shows that i have purchased it...but when i log on to mu ipad mini it asks me to again purchase it can't i just install it without buying it again..

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
I'm sorry, but you have to purchase GarageBand twice. GarageBand for iPad and GarageBand for OS X are two different versions that are sold in different App Stores, so you have to purchase GarageBand for the iPad in the App Store if you want it

  • Garageband won't open on iPad Mini

I've been recording a lot with garageband on my ipad mini 6.1.2, and never had a problem getting it to launch before.
I made a new project last night with the max # of tracks it would allow, I think 10.
Closed it auto saved last night. This morning it tries to load the song and then blinks and goes back to main ipad screen.
I've closed all apps, rebooted several times, nothing. I can't find much on this problem with the ipad mini online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    THANKS

You are selecting the music to sync in the Music Tab of iTunes correct? You select the music in iTunes and not under the device name on the left side.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on all of the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
In iTunes 11 - go to View>Show sidebar from the menu at the top of the screen in you lose the sidebar or do not see it.

  • GarageBand is bugged on my iPad 2 - works once per restore

    Hello.
A few days ago I decided to buy GarageBand. Because I am totally new to iPad I went to appstore and bought it there. I paid and it "started" to download. I was using only 3G and not wi-fi (because there is only secured ones and I don't have pass for them), I got pop-up that it's bigger then 20MB so I should turn on wi-fi or download it on my computer.
I downloaded through my computer then and plugged my iPad for sync and stuff. Icon of GB appear with full color (before it was with that loading, downloading bar). I started GB and work with it for a while. Then I closed it and worked with other apps. When I wanted to come back to GB there was back again that faded icon of GB with that not moving loading/downloading bar and I got another pop-up about bigger then 20MB etc. I was like "what? It's on the ipad already". It wasn't possible to turn GB on.
Well I uninstalled it, re-installed it, restored my iPad, restored fully my iPad. Nothing. That icon was there even GB wasn't even in iPad. I checked forums and tried to google this issue but I came up with empty hands. I tried everything I could think of. When I fully restore my iPad first time GB works and then i goes to that icon without turning GB on again. I can turn on GB only once per restore.
I would really appreaciate your help.
    Thank you very much.

  • Garageband won't open on iPad

My previously working iOS garageband used to work fine on my iPad (iPad 2, iOS 7.1.2).  At some point it stopped and will no longer open.  It now just shows a darkened icon on the home screen and stays 'Installing..." under the icon.  I have tried to delete it from the iPad  and reinstalling from iTunes but I end up stuck in the same place again.   Any suggestions?   appreciate any help!

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

  • GarageBand to AirPlay from my iPad

Is there any way to route the audio from GarageBand on the iPad via AirPlay?
Hoping Apple are thinking about this option :)

This "Extra Setting" in any iApp is obsolete on my opinion. If I plug-in the iPhone or iPad to a stereo device or by plugging in a headphone for example, the audio output will automatically be routed to that device. Therefore, why should a user specify another "Extra/Separate" setting for Airplay (it's like a headphone or stereo device without a cable)?
There is already a "Setting" under iOS for iPhone and iPad. That's it on my opinion.
