Backdoor port 32764 really eliminated?

Has the backdoor in the WRVS 4400N, RVS 4000 etc. really been eliminated from the latest firmware or is it just hidden away?

our servers were infected by the libkeyutils virus. some of the servers had this file libkeyutils.so.1.9. other servers that were infected had a libkeyutils.so file with a different version. a cpanel analyst told us to run following command to check for the virus:
strings full_path_of_libkeyutils.so | egrep 'connect|socket|gethostbyname|inet_ntoa'
just checking for libkeyutils.so.1.9 file alone is not enough to confirm the virus. each libkeyutils.so file must be checked for presence of network related functions. the above command basically checks for networking related functions in the libkeyutils.so file. these functions are not present in the default libkeyutils.so file and can be used for spamming, allowing ssh access etc.the command "strings" can be found in binutils package. the following command can be used to locate all libkeyutils.so files:
locate libkeyutils.so
Thanks for the info nadir.latif.

  • Linksys RVS4000 port 32764 vulnerability

I have the Linksys RVS4000 router with firmware version 1.3.3.5. I see Cisco released an update (
    http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282414013&softwareid=282465789&release=2.0.3.2
) to address the port 32764 vulnerability but it is only for the RVS4000  v2. Does anyone know if there will be an update to the older RVS4000  router?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Jim,
I have been told that a firmware for the older hardware should be released by the end of the month. Nothing in stone yet but keep an eye on the download page.

  • Is the Enhanced USB Port Replicator Really Hot-Pluggable?

    Folks,
I have the T61 and am just getting to know the very nice Enhanced USB Port Replicator.  We have a wireless KB/mouse, video and external hard drive, as well as the ethernet cable, all plugged in.
SITUATION "HOT PLUGGABLE":  The somewhat sparse documentation (that's probably a good thing, if it works as advertised) says that the whole thing is "hot pluggable", and specifically mentions hard drives.  The implication is you don't have to turn your laptop off to disconnect.  WOW, a huge time saver (and a distinction with the Dell laptop I have at work, with a docking station that corrupts the files if you don't shut everything down before disconnecting).
BUT SEAGATE HAS WARNING:  Seagate documentation for the popular FreeAgent Pro line of stylish external hard drives says that you absolutely MUST execute the Vista "USB safe removal" gambit in order to prevent file corruption -- or even partition corruption on your external drive.  THEN THEY EVEN SUGGESTION UNPLUGGING THE DATA AND POWER CABLES.  This is now in the realm of fantasy as well as inconvenience.  Which leads me to think that the documentation was written by a lawyer and not a technical person.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?  Is the new "Enhanced USB technology", which is written about on USB resource sites, capable of providing true, safe storage hot pluggability?
FOOTNOTE:  I'd like to believe the thing is truly hot-pluggable.  I'm just wondering if there are any open files related to the whole real-time backup thing from the Seagate software, if this would cause a problem.  Is the USB smart enough to handle that?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

download the keyboard customiser software, in which you can assign a certain key to function as the Fn key on the laptop keyboard. After unpacking go to your driver/swtool folder and then install it from there.

  • One or more ports used by the Compute Emulator are currently used by other processes

    Environment:
    VS 2012 Professional
    Azure SDK October 2012
    Windows 8
I lost the last few days of my life struggling with a weird issue in the emulator. I just ran out of options and I would really appreciate if someone could help me figure out what's wrong.
I am trying to debug a service package from Visual Studio 2012. It's really just about any package -- even the ones generated from a Windows Azure Cloud Service VS template. Any. The VS debugger starts, and in parallel there's "Starting the Windows Azure Debugging
Environment" dialog which shows "Deploying service package to the Windows Azure compute emulator..." message.
The progress bar shown in the dialog gets stuck for a long time (possibly even for an hour or longer!) at some 60% and then the following error message is shown:
"One or more ports used by the Compute Emulator are currently used by other processes. To resolve this, please see MSDN documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh472164.aspx"
There doesn't seem to be anything else listening on the ports mentioned on the above MSDN page. I did nevertheless try to re-map devfabric and agent ports by specifying different values in the .config files mentioned on the page, but that did not help.
What I also tried and did not help:
    - reinstalled SDK, IIS Express, Local DB
    - reinstalled VS 2012 (yes, I got that desperate)
    - tried using IIS instead
    - used SysInternals TcpView to check if there are any conflicts
    - rebooted the machine: the deployment works initially (*once*), and the subsequent deployments fail (!)
    - tried to kill all Azure-related processes in memory and restart debugging
    - tried looking into log files under the user directory (dftmp\...); no errors in *any* log
    - tried looking into Event Viewer logs (Azure-related and in general); no errors either
Since the conflict seems to be related to my current network settings, below is my IP
configuration. I am behind a router and I have DHCP activated, but again that should not matter since none of that has changed in the last few years (and the emulator did work until few days ago).

    Hi,
Unfortunately I already tried all kinds of re-installs (the full list is in my original message). The only one remaining is the reinstall of Windows 8 itself, which I would really like to avoid.
What I find really strange is the time it takes for the above error message to appear. It's like one hour or even more (never measured exactly, I left the computer running).
What kind of a timeout is that? I would expect that, if ports are really used by some other application, I get the message in less than a minute (seconds, actually). To me this looks like the emulator itself for some reason believes there's a problem with
some port while in reality there isn't.
I'll eventually contact Microsoft Support, thanks for the suggestion.

  • I have broken the charing port on my B1 Iconia Tablet - how can I get it replaced?

Hi All, I have broken the charing port on my BI Iconia tablet.  Really upset as have only had for just over a year.  The port is really delicate, can I get it replaced?  Is it easy for me to do if so what do i need?  Many thanks

you can't do it by yourself, so much unsoldering/soldering things on tiny point. contact the Acer support service by phone.

  • How do i activate Sony HS-USB Android Diag ports on Xperia Z3?

Hi Folks. I have been trying to get the HS-USB Android Diag/Modem/Serial ports activated so that they show in Device Manager, to no avail.  Is there a special number sequence i enter into the dialler? Or is there a special USB driver i have to install? I am able to to activate these ports using my Samsung S4, so surely it is possible for the Xperia Z3?! I remember successfully doing this on an earlier Xperia phone, but cannot how i did it. Would be grateful for any help please. Thanks in advance.

Yes i have installed PCC, but still not able to activate the Diag ports. Really frustrating this is, as with Samsung all i did was install their Kees software and instantly the Diag/Modem ports were activated. I will have to keep trying/searching and hope somehow i can do/find it. Thanks for your suggestion though!

  • Linksys EA3500 and QSee CCTV DVR, can't open any ports

    Hi everybody,
I just set up everything, and I am able to view the cameras from inside the network, but when trying to view them from outside it appears offline.
I have tried to follow all the guides to open ports, tried 80,81,85, 6039 etc but canyouseeme always tels me that the ports timed out. I enabled DMZ for the specific MAC address of the dvr also.
    I'm going crazy!
Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Are you using the Linksys smart wifi feature or just the classic page? If you are using the Linksys smart wifi page then you can use this article: How to set up port forwarding on the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router using the local access interface
If you are using the classic Linksys page then you can use this article:
Setting up single Port Forwarding on Linksys Wi-Fi Routers and Smart Wi-Fi Routers
Make sure to disable the filter anonymous internet request under security tab of the router.
Make sure to get public ip or wan ip on the router’s status page.
The ports 81, 85, 6039 and other camera related port numbers should be open behind your modem. If they are blocked by your ISP then you have to ask them to open these ports. You can use this port checker ping.eu to verify if the port is really open. Once all ports are open for your camera, then you should be able to access it remotely.

  • Port 3306 | 7869...why so difficult!

I develop locally and access my server remotely...
I have a WRT54G Wireless Router and am connected to the internet successfully.
However, I cannot get to my MySQL server remotely when going through the wireless router. The server runs on port 3306 of the mysql server.
In addition I debug locally with port 7869, which cannot be accessed as well now.
Can anyone provide any guidance...tried to understand the port triggering and forwarding, but completely got lost.
Why is this so strange, wierd and complex to get accomplished?
    Appreciate the guidance!

Do you mean the Internet server or my local PC internet connection? I don't believe either of them have a static IP. Although my mysql server does have a constant IP that my domain is attached to?
I have not forwarded any ports, not really sure what the heck that is doing.
So if I need to be able to access 3306 on a remote mysql server, I need to forward 3306 to my IP address?
    Appreciate the guidance!

  • NAT maps ports per external IP?

I would like to serve website.domain.ONE.com:80 on one server and website.domain.TWO.com:80 on another, both behind the gateway served by our Lion Server. Each FQDN resolves to its own separate IP number. Each IP number is represented by a (virtual) Ethernet interface on the Lion Server.
I had always known that "You can’t forward the same port to multiple computers ..." (eg port 80) but does "same port" here really mean "same port qualified by its incoming IP number" (eg website.domain.ONE.com:80)?
I notice in the NAT configuration page here: http://help.apple.com/advancedserveradmin/mac/10.7/#apdB5EA782D-0476-4D09-8D16-D E3F8770D426 , that In /etc/nat/natd.plist you can specify <key>aliasIP</key> <string>WAN_ip</string> for each <key>redirect_port</key>  KV array.
This implies to me that I might be able to do what I want. Is this what is intended?

    Hello Mjames,
I will be more than glad to help on this,
    Error numer one:
    nat (outside) 0 access-list outside_nat0_outbound
This is the no nat rule for the VPN, please change it to :
    nat (inside) 0 access-list outside_nat0_outbound
    Error number two:
Now regarding the Port forwarding rules for example check this ones:
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface ftp-data 192.168.2.7 ftp-data netmask 255.255.255.255
static (inside, outside) tcp interface ftp 192.168.2.7 ftp netmask 255.255.255.255
    The interface IP address is
    ip address a.b.c.178
    And now check the Access-list
    access-list outside_access_in extended permit tcp any a.b.c.176 255.255.255.240 eq ftp-data
access-list outside_access_in extended permit tcp any a.b.c.176 255.255.255.240 eq ftp
Why are they pointing to a.b.c.176?? They should be pointing to a.b.c.178.
I do see all the access-list pointing to 176 they should be pointing to the global ip address on the static statement (please change that and that should do it)

  • 8-12 Port Redundant PSU Managed Switch

Im looking to purchase a cisco managed switch (CLI with SSH Support).
It has to have dual power supplies, and no more than 8-12 ports.
Anyone got an idea for what model? I don't want to spend more than $1k or so.
    Thanks....

    Gigabit please.
PoE is really not necessary. This will be used as a redundant internet connection between my firewalls, so 8 ports would really be great (I really just need 4), but it MUST have Dual PSUs and Managed CLI with SSH Switch, along with Vlan Support and static routing (prefer OSPF is possible, but NOT necessary).
We running all our equipment via Cisco Routers and Switches, but I dont want to waste one of my Cisco 3750x switches for this purpose.
    Thanks...

  • Port Forwarding (WRT310N)

Trying to open port for my DVR to use. I use the single port forward in the set-up of the router and enabled them. Port 8080 and 9001 but I can't not get to see them on canyouseeme.org. Why is the router blocking the port yet? How do I fix this problem. On network magic  the router sees DVR.

Does not answer whether the ports are really open on the DVR or not.
Open a command prompt window, enter "telnet 192.168.1.50 8080". Replace the 192.168.1.50 with the IP address of the DVR. Also test 9001. Does it connect? Or do you get an error message?
In addition, check the IP address of the WRT on the Status page. Make sure it's identical to the IP address as shown on an internet service like http://whatismyip.com

  • SF500-24 combo ports for ethernet access

    Good afternoon cisco community,
I have some cisco switchs (SF500-24), and I found that the 21 and 22nd ports and combo (ethernet and SFP), and when I try to connect a PC on any one of these ports , it does not work correctly.
I planed to link the SF500-24 switches with a catalyst 2960 XR using the 21 and 22nd ports, but it also doesn't work.
Also when I check in the management web interface, these 2 ports are not shown.
So How can I make them work properly as the other ports ?
    Best regards,

    Hello,
I would recommend you to put switch in standalone mode (stacking is by default) and test it having in mind that combo ports are really just 1 port inside and SFP has higher priority than cooper.
Please let me know how it goes.
    Aleksandra

  • Port busy: netstat vs ServerSocket

I need to check whether a port is busy or not, and I get strange results when comparing the results of making a check with netstat (Windows) and with server socket binding to an address. My check is in a bat file that calls netstat, calls a java program that checks with sockets, then netstat again. Below are three outputs. One is received while the port was really busy, the second is a little time after it should have beeen freed, third is long after the port was freed.
What worries me is the second test, where netstat says there is a process listeining on the port, then my program says it is free, then netstat says the other process is still listening.
Is there some period when the port can be in some undetermined state when it is possible to both establish a server socket on it and it still be in listening state from the point of view of the previous owner?
The problem is that it is not my application that I need the port for, I need to obtain a free port to give start another application on and then connect from my application to that other app.

    Thanks for the responses.
Rene, which code do you want to see - I own only the code for that test program I use, but I close the socket in the finally block in it. The other application is OpenOffice to which I connect using the UNO bridge and I cannot get to the code called when I disconnect. If you want the test I can post it, but as last (third) output of netstat shows there are no sockets left after my application's run.
I don't think that the time_wait and fin_wait states are troublesome, what worries me are the LISTENING and ESTABLISHED states - can you give me some clue why while netstat reports these states it is possible to bind a server socket on that port?
Thanks for your time and help

  • Firewire Ports not responding

I have a Maxtor external HDD which previously worked perfectly fine with my computer when connected via Firewire. However I have not used the drive for a few months and when I went to use it again today, it would not mount on the desktop.
I have tried both ports on the drive and the computer.
The external drive works fine when connected via USB, however I don't have any 2.0 ports so really need the speed of firewire.
I have done PMU resets and nvram resets to no avail.
I have cleaned the cable and connecting ports.
The external One-Touch button lights up when firewire is connected at both ends, however the light turns off when one end of the firewire cable is disconnected leaving me to believe the cable is just fine.
    Please help!

  • Ethernet port trouble

    hi there
I have recently upgraded my ibook 500 MHZ to OS 10.2.8 i now want plug in to a cable modem using the ethernet port. However I don't seem to be able to make the connection, infact i think the ethernet port has become faulty, It displays in the system profile ok, but won't see printers or the cable modem. Is there any test i can do the check if the port is functioning?
    thanks

    Look in your
    Applications > Utilities
folder for "Network Utility" It will show you the state of the networkable ports, tell how many packets have come and gone, and allow you to "Ping" the IP address of the broadband modem or the router beyond it (the IP address provided by your ISP).
    How you set up the
System Preferences > Network > (your Ethernet port)
depends entirely on your ISP. They may give you a manual address, ask you to use DHCP, or require you to use PPPoE.
If you are trying to see an Apple LaserWriter, you may need to be sure AppleTalk is turned on for the active network interface.
The physical Ethernet ports on really early iBooks were pretty flimsy, but by the time the dual USB 500 came out, they should have improved significantly.
