BackFlushing using serial no.

Hi PP Gurus,
I am not able to do back flush with serial profile although i have maintained serial profile in material master.while back flushing only GR is posted no GI is posted.
the step i am following is:
>mm01>plant data/stor.2 >serial profile.
>ie01

Plz help me out!!!

Dear Amar,
In standard SAP it's not possible to backflush(automatic GI) is not possible either in Discrete manufacturing or in REM - Repetitive
manufacturing scenario.
You have to manually perform the GI activity.

  • Need to build communication redundancy using serial RS-232 for Data Transfer b/w Host and RT irrespective of TCP/IP Data Transfer

Hi - I would like to build the logic in which it should accomodate the communication redundancy using serial RS-232 for Data Transfer b/w Host and RT irrespective of TCP/IP Data Transfer.
I want to do data transfer b/w host and RT through RS232 VISA portal whenever TCP/IP ethernet cable has been unplugged from the controller continuosly , it should keep on checking for TCP/IP link re-establishing also , when ever the tcp/ip link established again that time the communication should be using in that link only. This is accomplished by deploying the RT vi as execuatbale file. I made some logic regards to the above said logic , bur it was not working as much I expected.
I request you to go through the attached two VI's and let me know , what I did wrong in that,
    Please do the needful.

  • Problem in using serial port.

I am using serial port to get data from a fusion splicer. The number of bytes at the port is 4096 but the read buffer of VISA read is empty. I am reading the same number of bytes. Can any one tell me what is the maximum size of VISA Read buffer? I am trying to put the contents of the buffer in a file. I am using labVIEW 6.1 on linux.I am also attaching the VI.
I also noticed this problem...If I read the number of bytes in the serial buffer many times, sometimes it reads it as 0 and I have to keep trying until it reads this 4096 bytes.
    Thanx for any help.

    Hey Viji,
In your application it looks like you are just checking to see how many bytes are at the serial port. Is it possible that your application is check for the serial data at the port before the data actually gets there. If you are looping this code as a subVI or just running it over and over it is possible that one of the iterations could occur faster than your device can write the information to the bus. In this instance you are checking the number of bytes at the port and there might not be any there yet. In this case the port reads 0 as you have designed it.
If you want the read function to wait and always read 4096 then don't wire the bytes at port to the read function. Just wire a constant/control equal to 4096 to the read function instead o
f the bytes at port. In this case, if there are not any bytes at the port the read function will wait for the bytes to show up or until the timeout period is reached.
I would also, suggest lowering your time to something more reasonable, because if your instrument quits transmitting your application is going to wait for 33 minutes. That is a long time for a program to hang.
    I hope this helps out.

Any or all of the following third-party system modifications may be contributing to your problem:
    CUDA
    VirtualBox
    Parallels
    LogMeIn
    LittleSnitch
If the panic is recurrent, I suggest you uninstall all of them according to the developers' instructions, reboot, and see whether there's any improvement. If there is, you can experiment with putting them back, one at a time, to identify which one is at fault.

  • Create Inbound Delivery with Reference to PO using Serial Numbers

    I guys.
I didn't find any BAPI  to create an Inbound Delivery with Reference to PO using Serial Numbers so I've made a Function Module with BDCData.
      LOOP AT serial.
        ADD 1 TO ld_count.
        ld_value = serial-sernr.
        CONCATENATE  'RIPW0-SERNR(' ld_count ')' INTO ld_field.
        PERFORM bdc_field USING ld_field ld_value.
      ENDLOOP.
This works fine for 10 entries, but when I'm trying to use 1000 entries in serial Internal Table I'm getting the error: Screen 0000 is too large for internal batch input area - Message no. 00379.
Please note that my issue is the Serial numbers, so don't answer me please with BAPIs that doesnt allow me to deal with this.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance,

I pull fiftyfour bytes of data from MicroProcessor's EEPROM using serial port. It works fine. I then send a request for 512 bytes and my "read" goes into loop condition, no bytes are delivered and system is lost

    Hello,
You mention that you send a string to the microprocessor that tells it how many bytes to send. Instead of requesting 512 bytes, try reading 10 times and only requesting about 50 bytes at a time.
If that doesnt help, try directly communicating with your microprocessor through HyperTerminal. If you are not on a Windows system, please let me know. Also, if you are using an NI serial board instead of your computers serial port, let me know.
In Windows XP, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Communications, and select HyperTerminal.
Enter a name for the connection and click OK.
In the next pop-up dialog, choose the COM port you are using to communicate with your device and click OK.
    In the final pop
-up dialog, set the communication settings for communicating with your device.
Type the same commands you sent through LabVIEW and observe if you can receive the first 54 bytes you mention. Also observe if data is returned from your 512 byte request or if HyperTerminal just waits.
If you do not receive the 512 byte request through HyperTerminal, your microprocessor is unable to communicate with your computer at a low level. LabVIEW uses the same Windows DLLs as HyperTerminal for serial communication. Double check the instrument user manual for any additional information that may be necessary to communicate.
Please let me know the results from the above test in HyperTerminal. We can then proceed from there.

  • How to use serial instruments as a displayer or indicator

Is there any way that I can display reading from serial ports evevy other 30 seconds? Just like I get reading from DAQ board. Now I am using serial.vi, but each time I have to send command to get the updated reading. Is there any way this can be done automatically?
    thanks and happy holliday.

Here is a little vi that allows you to specify your interval. It works for logging data etc.

I'm sure this is not good. What are the right joins and which field from which table has to be placed in the Report? Thanks for your help, we just got life from April 1st, so I'm new with this....

  • Purchase details using serial number

How can I find details about the vendor from which I bought my IMAC 2 years back using serial number?

    You cannot.

  • Capturing data acquisition frames reliably at 100 hz using serial, how?

    Hi All,
I am completing development of a 14 channel, 10 bit resolution, pic based data acquisition circuit. It transmits frames of 41 bytes (currently) at 100hz using serial. The embedded code functions satisfactorily. I can see data ok using hyperterminal. I am unsure how to optimise labview to get complete frames without hogging lots of cpu/system resource etc. eg. do I simply set the frame size (num of bytes) to retrieve and set this looping as fast as possible , and/or set the rate to fetch frames at the rate frames are transmitted by the pic? This may allow drift in available buffered bytes to finally overflow the buffer.
I tend to lose 1 byte in 100 typically doing nothing but this increase
s to chunks of bytes if I interact with windows.
I have the feeling a number of decisions need making when setting up a serial link like this but I am unsure which settings best suit my application.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards
    Chris

    Hi Lynn, Tristan,
Please find the current llb attached. This has my last serial run and shows how the data gets glitchy after a number of seconds (toward end of the text box).
I have spent time building the suggestions into code. I am not yet trying to strip out individual channels. At the moment I just want to get frames in reliably before moving on.
It certainly looks a lot more reliable now but a few more questions have been raised. I think the idea of getting data in using 1 loop then immediately passing it for processing by another parrallel loop seems important for reliability.
You will notice I grab a frame and it then goes into a que where it will be processed but this needs doing quickly as frames will be used in realti
    me.
I have set up the code to trim the delay for both the get data from serial port loop and get 1 entry from the que loop.
I am using 2 identical circuits in my product, 1 captures data from a leg harness, the other controls movements of a biped robot (servos) this occurs in "real time". I need to remove as much latency due to processing as possible.

I noticed that some of text embedded within text boxes used in subvi's can tend to float thro to the top level vi. I proved this by adding a bit of text and noticed it kept cropping up occasionally on the top level text box. I found this peculiar but cured it by deleting all chars in the subvi text box. Now I am concerned, could this be somthing to do with why I get glitches in text occasionally?
Is there some labview feature to say flush all text, numbers and bools prior to running from the top leve
    l?
I'd be gratefull if you have a look thro my llb and sanity check the flow of code and let me know what you think.
    Best Regards
    Chris

  • To read 512 bytes using serial communication

I want to read 512 bytes of data using rs 232 with the timeout of 30ms. I am using "Serial read with timeout -Palm.vi". Is there a limitation of the number of bytes I can specify to this VI?
    Thanks!!

    Hi software enigineer,
It is not possible to transfer 512 bytes per 30 ms here. To do this would require a baud rate of 136533 (512*8/.03) and the maximum possible baud rate is 115000. The recommend baud rate for a serial transfer is 9600, which would mean transferring at most 36 bytes if the timeout is kept at 30ms. Moreover, there is usually some overhead involved in serial communication, and I would recommend sending a little less than the maximum 36 bytes every time too.
On another note, I noticed that in your block diagram, you are using the Bytes at Serial Port vi. Definitely use the output of this vi to determine how many bytes to read at a time and read the bytes as they become available in the serial buffer rather than reading in a large buffer
all at once. Continuously read and append the output until there are no more bytes to be read or until the termination character is read. This will avoid any lost data transmission due to overflow.
    Good luck with your program!

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.

Look at save_absolute_paths_in_playlists in your mpd.conf.

I concur with T-squared. The Kensington 33185 is simple to use and the sound quality has been excellent. I bought it just last Friday and it has seen me through numerous holiday roadtrips over the past week. It charges and has three presets; I can recommend 89.7 or 106.5 FM when you're in the Philadelphia/Princeton area. :->

Basically, it is not well-written from both a LabVIEW and a communications point of view.  Unfortunately, I can't elaborate because today is an exrtremely busy day at work.  I'm hoping this bump will prompt someone to help you with your problem.  If you could also provide us with the programmer's guide or the manual for your equipment, that would be extremely helpful.

If you had the Find My iPhone application installed and location services turned on, you can track the iPod touch, but you can not use the serial number to track it.
