Background and transparant picture

Hi,
I encounter the following problem:
I have a Word document containing a .jpg picture.
For this picture, the white background is set as "transparant colour" (in Word).
After printing the Word document using "Adobe pdf" as printer, I want to add a background in Adobe Acrobat.
However, the background is interrupted where the picture is (rectangular).
This was not the case using previous version of Acrobat!
Could somebody please help me out?
Thanks!
LVL

Don't use the Adobe PDF printer. Use the Acrobat function added to Word, which is supposed to do the extra tricks needed to make this work.Though you might need to use a format that supports transparency like PNG.

  • Background and desktop pictures

I can choose a particular color for the background but when I choose desktop pictures to put on top of it, the background color reverts to blue.
On my old iBook I could have a color of my choice plus pictures.
Is it no longer possible to have both choices?

If you choose the 'Center' option then you'll be presented with a colored rectangle ...just click this and the color palette will appear.
As one of my desktops I have a single pixel saved as a 'gif' image ...because this 'image' is almost unseen I can then choose to center this image, and adjust my background color palette allowing me to show the complete desktop in any color I like. Here's a download link if you like - just control-click and 'download link target'...

  • Best way to edit out a white background and make a transparent gif

I have an image I purchased but need to make it into a gif. It already has a white background but when I use the magic wand it chops little bits of the edge of the images up.
Is there an easier way of editing the white out of this background and making a transparent gif?
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS2
Image is attached to take a look.
Thanks, I appreciate any help with this.

Worked perfect at a tolerance of 10, didn't know what that was for before

I recently had my iphone 4s screen repaired because the screen was cracked. It was all ok and then a few weeks later something strange happened. My touchscreen works, but the screen doesnt show, you can see the light in the background but no picture? has anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is, is it self-repairable or even repairable at al?

The LCD Display connector has partially come loose from the logic board connector, and simply needs to be pressed back down into place. Or the front screen assembly is now faulty, and needs to be replaced again.

When inserting a .pdf of a document into a Keynote template with a standard white paper color the text and images show up, but the white background is transparent. How do you also make the white paper color show up?

Use the color fill option - select the inserted .pdf and assign a fill color of white to it using the Color Fill Menu on the Toolbar or the Color Picker Palette.
    Good Luck.

  • Psd with shadow and transparent background

I have a psd image with transparent background and a shadow efect (color 0,0,0,100 and multiply). When I import it in InDesign, the shadow don't overprint. What can i do?
This is an example with a pentagon with shadow made in indesign and another made in photshop:

This has been requested for quite some time, and what I've heard from folks who ought to know is that there are some rather large technical impediments to implementing this in InDesign. I too hope that they will eventually deal with it, but it doesn't seem like it will be any time soon.
In the mean time, here is a link to a script on our website which will help with the "place the image twice" workaround:
    http://www.premediasystems.com/scripts.html
Towards the bottom of the page, you'll find a link to download the script (which is called "Shadow-matic").
Using it is pretty simple. You place the image, and select it prior to running the script. When you run it, a dialog box will appear listing all of the layers and paths in the image. You can select any combination to be used for the "shadow" image and the "main" image. The script then duplicates the image, sets one copy ("shadow") to "multiply" (in InDesign), and sets the layer visibility and/or clipping path as you specified. It then sets the other copy ("main") to "normal" blend mode (again, in InDesign), sets the layer visibility and/or clipping path, and groups the two images together. The download includes a brief set of instructions...
It doesn't currently support choosing layer comps as Bob suggests, but that would be a good feature request .

  • Creating A Simple Video With Music and A Picture Background

Some of you all may know that I am in a band. I am wanting to put some of my music on youtube and am wanting to make just a simple video- with the song playing in the background- and just some sort of nature picture, or only a few going in the background. I'm thinking I should use iMovie, but I haven't had a whole lot of luck figuring it out this morning, so I was wondering if anyone here could help me with the task that I mentioned. It would be so greatly appreciated!!!

  • Hi, i am really new to photoshop and i have a design which i need to have the background made transparent? can anyone assist please?

hi, i am really new to photo shop and i have a logo design which i need to have the background made transparent from a white square? can anyone assist please?
i have already got the image on my screen but cant seem to find the tool in which to make it transparent as i do with other softwares.

    hi aknaloku,
is the background apart of your image or is the image on a different layer?
if the white background is on a different layer you can simply delete the layer for the layers window which you can find in Window>Layer. you will need to delete the background layer by dragging it into the little rubbish bin icon down the bottom right of the layers window.
    i hoped this helped

  • Insert static picture between thumbnails and sliding pictures

    Hello everybody,
I try to create a fullscreen slideshow behind a static picture with transparent areas in muse ... unsuccessfully!
In the fullscreen background should be the changing pictures.
Over these sliding pictures, one static picture with transparent areas, fullscreen (important!), so that you can see parts of slideshow.
And in the foreground has to be the thumbnails and buttons trigger to control slideshow.
How can I insert a static picture between thumbnails and sliding pictures?
    Thank you!

  • Giving background to my picture

    Hi there,
I need to put a background to a picture. The background is also a picture. How can I do this? Also, could you tell me how to make the background picture more transparent?
    Thanks a lot.
    Palinkasocsi

    Open both pictures in Photoshop.
Then, with the Move tool selected, drag the knight picture into the certificate picture. It will be on a new layer.
With the knight layer selected press Ctrl+T. Press shift to keep the proportions and pull a corner handle inwards to reduce the size. Drag the resized knight to the place where you want it.
In the Layers panel, reduce the opacity to 25%.
The certificate looked pale, so I darkened it up a bit.
Note: to keep the layers for later adjustments, save as a PSD or TIF. Otherwise flatten it.

  • Transparent Picture Control Quirks?

    (cross-posted to LAVA)
    Can anyone explain this?
A Picture Control that has been painted transparent has a different Erase First behavior in the context menu.
Regular picture control, dropped right off the palettes:
Note that the Erase First item is enabled, and checked by default.
But, if we use the paintbrush to paint the interior of the Picture Control transparent and then bring up the context menu again:
Note that now Erase First is checked and disabled so it cannot be unchecked.
But there's more.  If you try to set the Erase First behavior programmatically, LabVIEW doesn't generate an error and seems to accept the setting, but the change isn't reflected in the context menu:
It also appears that, regardless of the behavior shown, a Picture Control that's been painted transparent ignores all programmatic Erase First settings and behaves as though it's set to Always Erase.  This, in turn, means that if you set a Picture Control's background to transparent, it will always tend to flicker as you draw more stuff to it, unless you take special precautions (like deferring panel updates).
Why does a transparent-background Picture Control behave differently from a Picture Control with an opaque background?
