Background bug with windows 8

I found an annoying bug using photoshop cs6 with win 8 pro.
It only happens when i'm working on a file with layer. When I zoom in or out with the mouse wheel the background suddenly changes from gray to black or "trasparent" multiple times.
Already tried updating vga drivers and disabling gpu acceleration, with no results.
is  someone having the same problem? any possible solution?

Oh, and since you mentioned trying disabling GPU acceleration, keep in mind that changes you make to those settings MUST be followed by a close and restart of Photoshop before testing, or you won't necessarily be testing what you think you're testing.

The problem is that the windowses can see the files not only the ones in public folder, but also whole disk, like Desktop, Library etc. When i installed Lion, it was happened again for one time. But then it fixed in a way which i don't know. After Mountain Lion, this problem occurs again.
So, why can it be happened and how do i fix it? please help me.
    thank you.

  • Am i the only one that see's serious bugs with Windows Search index on Windows 8.1 and Office 2013?

So i originally had Windows 8 and Office 2013 installed. I noticed that alot of my emails in Outlook 2013 as well as contacts werent being indexed. I waited for windows 8.1 and did an upgrade hoping the 8.1 would fix the issue. It didn't.
So i formatted my hard drive, installed fresh windows 8.1, and office 2013, and let it Windows Index run. I see 2 things happening.
    A.) The indexer never completes
B.) the indexer takes up 40% cpu usage.
I tried rebuilding, creating index from new location, nothing seemed to work. I decided to prevent the indexer from searching Office apps (outlook and onenote) and low and behold it completes indexing.
I decided to try and format again and see if there was some bug causing the issue. So this week I formatted once agian, loaded Windows 8.1, installed updates, and loaded office 2013. Once again, my indexer
is stuck around 70k items and my processor usage on Searchindexer.exe is around 30-40%.
Is this a known bug with 8.1 and office?

    Hi,
I test in my environment, and Windows would finish the index, the CPU usage keeps in 29%, which my RAM is 8G.
Can you tell us how you let the Windows Index run?

  • Lightroom bugs with Windows Vista

I'm having difficulties with one of the file navigation controls in LR running under Windows Vista. The control that pops up with the import (choose files) function works fine, but the control that pops up with the add folder or create new library function misbehaves and causes LR to hang.
I've logged a ticket with Adobe, tried all the standard workarounds (run as administrator, re-create preferences etc.), but to no avail. I think it is a bug.
Has anyone experienced this? Any solutions out there?

What I've seen is that if you try to import from a card reader using the LR downloader, you get a list of files on the card and a message saying that they could not be imported. This also apparently damages the LR database because you cannot import even from a folder on the computer until you delete the database and create a new one. It happens in XP compatibility mode for me too. Otherwise, I have had no troubles using LR on my Vista machine. I can import from a card using another program's downloader and then import the folder into LR for editing.

  • Severe bugs with windows 8.1

I am using the latest version of Flash Player.
    1. Firefox won't start anymore. It shows up in task manager as a background process but never actually opens.
    2. Any notifications like "You have new apps that can....." freeze when they appear, and hovering over them changes my cursor to the hourglass
    3. Sound options in the control panel becomes completely unaccessible.
The only fix is to completely remove flash and re-install an older version. What is causing this? Using Windows 8.1 preview 64-bit.

    Here's the kicker.
Windows 8.1 "Preview" is still a beta.
"It's NOT ready for prime time" as the saying goes.
I was conned into installing it when it was first released and it not only KILLED every one of my CS6 apps... it completely disabled my AVG anitvirus. AVG wouldn't update and trying to reinstall it got me an "incompatibility" error.
My ONLY option was to reformat and NOT put that piece of garbage back on. Windows 8 is poo to begin with, 8.1 is worse, and since it's still in a testing stage, NO ONE anywhere will do anything about problems with it, except tell you to report them to Microshaft so they can NOT fix them before they do the final release of 8.1...

  • Possible BUG with Windows XP compressed drives?

    Hello.
I´ve been using Lightroom since the first public beta, but it's now, with the v1.0, when I've decided to use it with my "production" files.
I've detected that Lightroom is not able to work properly with folders stored in Windows XP compressed volumes. I can import my photos, the folder structure is created and all is OK. But when I try to create/rename/navigate a folder, the dialog box that appears doesn't let me do it. I seems like the compressed volumes and the folders within are not shown.
In a "normal" volume I don´t have this problem.
Someone else has experimented this bug? It's only me or is a software problem?
    Thanks!

Yes I have seen this when creating a new library:

  • How I fixed  bug with Windows VISTA & iTunes 7.3 software...

Okay guys, for a few weeks I've been posting about how my Windows Vista will not work with the iTunes software 7.3.
Many of you with Vista also have posted the same problems over and over and over with no real answers available to us.
Well, I have fixed my problem.
The last straw was last night when I desperately needed to burn something and obviously I couldn't because my CD/DVD Drive was "Missing".
All this morning I backed up all my files on my computer and reformatted my computer by choosing to set it back to factory settings. After 60 min. of this, after the 3 prior hours, my computer appeared brand new.
And sure enough, my CD/DVD Drive was there. Next, I went to my Roxio Easy CD Creator and sure enough, it also recognized my Drive as well. I had it burn a file and it worked.
Next, I went to an older Apple Downloads page, and Downloaded iTunes 6.0. Not anything but the lowest 6.
    http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm
And guess what, it works as well with my Vista.
I loaded a CD Soundtrack, pulled a few tracks into a separate folder then burned them and checked them.
So, this is one option for you guys out there to try that gets an A+ from me. Yes, it has literally taken me all day and night, but everything is back to working order and I am finally happy!
Anything to get rid of that nasty Version 7, anything!

  • Nokia OviSuite v2.2.0.245 bug with windows shutdow...

I came the forum to warn everybody, ive been using ovi suite since the beginning never had a problem, and recently my windows instead of restarting or shutdown in seconds, just frooze up instead of closing in seconds it now takes 3 or 4 minutes.
I instaled everything one by one, and the windows has no problems until i installed Nokia Ovi Suite and bingo shutdown got slow. The installation process does not give any error and start up time doesnt change either.
It took me many hours to find out so if anyone has the same problem you will know why

I have found almost the same thing with my computer after installing Ovi Suite. This is happening because there is service called as NokiaMserver.exe which runs in the backgroung associated with the ovi suite. I end process of this service and then also deselected the option in Ovi Suite Optiotns-general- Unchecked the start up while windows starts..
This had some effect if not that great, but slightly better.
    Cheers

Okay, i have 2 bugs with maverick.  First, when I delete a file within a window, the files deletes but the preview doesn't delete until I close the window and reopen it.  Second, I work on a network of computers and the search feature is now buggy...  When I search for a file, A) it asks me if it's a name, or it wont produce anything, and B), its slower than in prior OS versions and in some instances I have to toggle to a different directory and go back to my original directory in the search: menu bar or the search wont produce anything...  Very buggy.

It appears to me that network file access is buggy in Maverick.
In my case I have a USB Drive attached to airport extreme (new model) and when I open folders on that drive they all appear empty. If I right click and I select get info after a few minutes! I get a list of the content.
It makes impossible navigate a directory tree.
File access has been trashed in Maverick.
They have improved (read broken) Finder. I need to manage a way to downgrade to Lion again.

  • -fx-background-position with negative values bug ?

    Hi,
I've reported an issue that seems to be a bug with negative -fx-backgound-position values in CSS : the background image is painted out of bound of the target node.
    Here is the CSS code:
/* useradd icon style: with negative offset */
    .icon-useradd {
        -fx-background-position: -90px 0px;
} I've created a new JIRA issue with attached screenshot :
    http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-25522

    This probably is expected behaviour.
The properties for background fills (color, insets, radius) donot work together with the properties for background images (image, position, repeat, size). They are separate and painted in separate passes in order, quote from the CSS doc below:
    >
Each Region consists of several layers, painted from bottom to top, in this order:
    background fills
    background images
    contents
    border strokes
    border images

  • Satellite P70-A-112 - Windows 8 - Bug with Application Manager & Display

    Hello,
I bought this Toshiba laptop in August with windows 8 (64 bit) inbuilt.
It all began yesterday, when Windows crashed due to a "BAD_POOL_HEADER" error. Ever since, I cannot access the "start menu" of Windows 8, neither can I run any applications linked to this tablet-like menu. For instance, I can't even open a picture anymore ou neither can I open a PDF file with Acrobat Reader.
    My problem is thus twhreefold:
Firstly, it seems that the Application Manager does not seem to run when I start the computer. And this application manager seems to be necessary to run the start menue.
Secondly, I cant access the parameters of my computer when putting my cursor on the top-right corner, making it impossible to close my computer the normal way.
Thirdly, when I manage to restart my computer, I arrive most of the times to a black background, and just a non-working picture picture of the quick access bar at the bottom of the screen. Nothing works.
Oddly enough, the only way I've found to "solve" this problem is by pluging-in a second screen. However, it is merely a temporary solution: whenever I de-plug the second screen, the nightmare begins again.
Could you please help me identify the exact problem and help me solve it?
    Thanks a lot.

    > According to other forums on the net, it might be a hard-drive problem.
Yes, probably its memory module problem. I think the memory modules should be tested.
    > What to do?
    Your notebook is new. Right?
This means that warranty is valid and hardware problems should be fixed under warranty conditions.
In my opinion you should as your authorized service provider for assistance.

  • Compliance of Oracle 10g R2 with Windows XP SP2

    Hello everybody
I am representing my company for making a decision of deploying appropriate versions for Oracle and Windows.
The vendor suggested Oracle 9 on Windows Server 2003, whereas we opted for deploying Oracle 10g R2 with Windows XP SP2.
    According to the vendor
XP is not a true 'server' product and therefore does not provide many server functions and may have restrictions on numbers of users that can connect.
If the vendor's notion is correct, would anyone explain the limitations/restrictions of our solution.

One of the first problems that you will encounter, inbound connections limit in Windows XP:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314882
Memory allocations are handled differently between Windows 2003 and XP (paged pool, non-paged pool, file system caching, etc.):
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366778.aspx
In some cases the memory allocation differences can cause XP to display errors indicating "unable to allocate memory from the paged pool" or the non-paged pool, when Windows 2003 would otherwise continue functioning without problem. Windows 2003 offers a registry change to work around this problem:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312362
Microsoft will stop making Windows XP available for resale in June 2008, except on extremely light-weight computers, and update support will end before update support ends for Windows 2003.
There are typically differences in the hardware that ships with a computer loaded with Windows XP and one that ships with Windows 2003. You will have a hard time finding a computer with Windows XP that ships with redundant power supplies, dual backplanes, SCSI RAID 10 support, dual network interfaces, built-in system/diagnostics, etc.
While Windows 2003 is the server equivalent of Windows XP, there are many features in Windows 2003 that are not available in Windows XP. XP is designed to be rebooted frequently (shut down every night, or reboot once a week or once a month) and is geared toward foreground application performance. Windows Server 2003 is designed to be rebooted infrequently (apply security updates, recover from rare system fatal bugs) and is geared toward providing good background application performance (the Oracle database instance would be a background application).
If you are unfamilar with Windows Server 2003, take a look at the books "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Administrator's Companion" by Microsoft Press and "Mastering Windows Server 2003" by Sybex. Compare what you find in those books with what you might find in Microsoft's Windows XP Resource Kit book.

  • DAQcard 6024E crashes with windows 2000

I am using a daqcard with windows 2000pro and labview 7 and it occasionally stops responding and I have to do multiple re-boots of the pc before it starts working again. it also seems to occasionaly have problems being recognised by windows and max, sometimes it is picked up by one and not the other. Is this a patchable windows bug as i dont seem to have the same problems on a different pc also running win 2k pro. (but i haven't run on the other pc as long as the one with the probs) i have also noticed that if power it connected to the I/O on the daq card, the problem occurs more often on bootup of the pc.

Testing the DAQCard in another laptop is a good first step in order to verify that the problem is probably with the configuration of windows and software rather than with the hardware. It appears that your DAQCard is working properly since you do not see the problem on a different computer.
Often times problems with PCMCIA devices can be a result of the PCMCIA socket or the PCMCIA drivers and software. The following Knowledgebase contains good information on debugging problems with PCMCIA cards and discusses how to remove any 3rd party socket services (that are usually installed onto mainstream laptops) and replace it with the default Windows software:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/7CBFAB1E451C3A1886256D98006914AE?OpenDocument
    In your particu
lar case you might check the resources and software settings of the two laptops to see if they are noticeable different. In particular check to see what software controls the PCMCIA devices and if there are other background programs running that might cause problems with Windows on your first machine.
Also, you will want to check to the version of NI-DAQ that you have installed to see if that is different between the two computers. All versions of NI-DAQ can be downloaded from our website (ni.com/support) if you wish to upgrade, with our latest version being NI-DAQ 7.1.
