Background folder (library?) in PSE 8.0

Could someone tell me what menu or function is used to access the images in the folder  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0\Photo Creations\backgrounds ?
Since PSE 8 populated this folder with a library of so many stock images/backgrounds, I assume that there must be a function in PSE that uses them for some purpose. (but I sure can't find it!).
Thanks,
Barober

I believe that those Image files are basically Clip Art, stock photos and similar, for use in PSE, but as John mentions, the folk in the PSE Forum can verify that, as I only use Photoshop (PSE's "big brother"), so I am guessing here.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Desktop Backgrounds Folder

I have been looking for some time in and around Library for the Desktop Backgrounds folder which I have now determined is missing in 10.6. I wanted to add some pictures to the existing default folders so they pop up when I open the folders in system preferences.
    Any thoughts?

are you looking in the right library? the default pictures are in the Desktop Pictures folder in the Library folder at the top level of the hard drive. but you don't have to put your pictures there. in desktop background system preferences just click on + and add your own folder of pictures. there is no reason to modify the system ones.

I installed LR CC , but when i try launching it flashes & it is gone. I tried the solution in the Adobe Site - which says search for the folder Library/Application Support/ Adobe/ Sl Store ...., but i can't seem to find the SL Store or SLCache folders ( i use the Mac). Only then can i apply the solution. I just cant seem to find the folder in the first place

That did not work for me & as per adobe site help if signing out does not help- we are supposed to go the above folders & do some additional steps, but i could not find the folders & hence the question

  • How can I see the folder "Library"?

What do I press to see the folder "Library"

There are multiple options since Apple decided to hide the local Library folder.
Select the Finder's Go menu. Now press the option key and the Library menu entry will appear. Use your pointing device to then select the Library menu entry and you land inside the Library folder in your login directory.
On the same menu without pressing the option key, you can select Go To Folder... or simply press shift+command+G. In the pop-up dialog, you can type ( the following character is a tilde) ~/Library and then choose Go. This too will land you in the Library folder.
There is a way to unhide the login directory Library folder until the next operating system update hides it again. This step requires using the Terminal application. The following command is non-destructive to either your nerves or OS X.
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Here's what you do.
Triple-click on the above command to select it.
Press command+C to copy it to the clipboard
Change your keyboard focus to the Finder by clicking on your desktop.
Press shift+command+U to open the Utilities folder.
Double-click the Terminal application - a window will appear
Change your keyboard focus by clicking anywhere within the Terminal window
Press command+V to paste the above command into the Terminal window
Press return to unhide your login directory Library folder
Quit the Terminal application and close the Utility folder.
Open a Finder window and confirm that the Library folder is visible

  • Sytem folder/library has a library folder also

i think i screwed up backing up from time machine.my system folder has 1 folder :Library and it also has a folder in it called Library. In my sys.profiler software/applications there are duplicates of almost all apps. some listed system/library/ ,and some as System/Library/Library with a later modified date.

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
Backing-up won't change anything on your internal HD.
Did you do a restore of something? If so, what, exactly?
What are the names of a few of these apps?

  • Adobe Photoshop 8.0 Object Library for PSE 8 ?

    Hi
I want to write a program to loop over all tags and copy the associated fotos to folders named with the tag-name. By this way I have a good structure to select the fotos on stick / DigiFrame.
I'm a Unify TeamDeveloper developer, so it's no problem for me. But: in TD I can generate the COM classes to access PSE. I think the right object library for this is Adobe Photoshop 8.0 Object Library.
I have a complete installation of PSE 8 on my computer but this Object Library is not present.
Does Adobe Photoshop 8.0 Object Library not serve for PSE8? Where can I get it?
the one I have is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Media Client 1.0 Type Library. There are some methods like GetTags. But what is the input parameter tagIds? The return is a object. But the Media Client has no class Tags.
I also searched google, perhaps already exists a plugin for such a export. But I found nothing.
    Can anybody help me?
    Best regards
    Thomas

I have found a solution (psedbtools).

  • MIssing folder Library/Application Support/iCal folder

Hope this is in the correct discussion!
This folder is missing from my MBP. On Time Machine, I can't find it and have gone back to March 2012 when TM starts.
Does it create itself and what data would it hold?
I've lost all my iCal calendars and have a back up at 18/7/12. I've restored Library/Calendars but the entries don't show up in iCal. I'm told I need to restore Library/Application Support/iCal folder, but it's not there.
I've created a current entry (in a new calendar) but still no Library/Application Support/iCal folder.
Should I be trying to create it manually, somehow I don't think so?
    Thanks for any help.

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and provide ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Keynote/Themes/ as the path.

  • Need help in adding a folder library (on external hard drive) to ITunes.  Older versions had "add folder to library" option...

I have an external hard drive that has a huge music library that I wish to make my Library in ITunes.  I have already set the location of the library to the hard drive folder (under Preferences/Advanced).  In the older versions of ITunes there was an "add folder to library" option.  After selecting that option, ITunes would then take a long time to analyze the songs in the new folder and I could then transfer songs to my IPad.  The new ITunes has an "Add File to Library".  I selected *.* to include all artists and songs in the library, but ITunes does not begin to analyze the songs and artists in the hard drive.
How do you get Itunes to recognize the songs and artists in the new song directory?.

As long as you don't have an existing library that is synced with a device or holds oodles of carefully crafted playlists, ratings etc. then...
Hold down shift as you start iTunes. You should get an option to choose or create a library. Click create, browse to root of the external drive and click save so that your library is say X:\iTunes where X: is the letter of your external drive. All new content downloaded to the library will stay on the external drive.
See this user tip for a backup strategy.

  • I have hard drive from trashed MBP15"..want to put iTunes music on my MBP17". The content is almost identical, but 17" has been showing a lot of "cannot be found" messages. Previous suggestions have always failed to identify which file/folder/library item

Greetings..my 15"MBP crashed. I pulled hard drive and have it available as "external drive"..with all info intact. I am currently using my 17"MBP, which has really been acting up in iTunes..many of my songs are showing the dreaded "exclaimation mark"..still don't understand how this occurs. BOTH computers are almost carbon copies of each other, so I just want to copy tunes from 15" hard drive to my 17" working computer, to try and rescue all these "lost" tunes. I've asked this before and always get several answers (for which I am grateful!)..but..they are always different.."You gotta get this library folder!..just drag and drop..erase and reinstall!.."...nothing has worked yet..I'm trying one more time. Mainly need to know which file/folder to drag to what location. Should be simple,.maybe you can help. There will be TON'S of duplicates (unless program catches this and asks if I want to import dupes!!)..so I am prepared to run "dupe-elimination" program. Thanks for your time and suggestions!

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

  • Moving iTunes music folder/library to external HD

Hi all, and happy new year: Yeah, I know I should know how to do this, but ... I want to move all my music to an external HD and delete it from my MBP HD. I would like someone to steer me to the best resource for a primer on how to do this. Thanks in advance!

Just drag the entire iTunes folder (the entire folder, not just the iTunes Music folder) to your desired location. Then hold down the Option key while launching iTunes. You'll be given a dialog box where you can select the iTunes library you want to use. Navigate to and select the iTunes folder in it's new location.
Once you've confirmed that it's working, then you can delete the tracks from the internal drive.

  • Question about moving iTunes Media folder/library

    Hello,
I'm responding to the article listed here: iTunes for Windows: Moving your iTunes Media folder - Apple Support that describes moving your iTunes media folder. I have a massive music library/playlists (over 350 gigs and growing). I'm planning to relocate my media folder to Dropbox because I have ample space there and it will allow me to run my library off of multiple computers (though not at the same time). My question is this: if I follow the steps and consolidate and relocate my library to the new Dropbox folder, will all my new uploads and downloads/purchases/imports also start automatically going to this newly specified location? I want to make sure that it would.
    Thanks

Well the way that Dropbox works for me (just documents and data, not iTunes) is that I have a complete copy of the files in my Dropbox folder on my computer at home, and at work, and in the cloud on Dropbox's servers. Each time I update one of the files it is uploaded to Dropbox and then downloaded to the other client machine. When using another computer I can access my files from the Dropbox web interface, or use the Dropbox app on my iPad. It sounds like you are hoping that you can have all of your files in the cloud, and only in the cloud. I don't think it works that way.
For 350Gb and growing I think that realistically you need to stick with local storage. I clone my library to a 1Tb portable drive which I physically take to and from work, At each location I use SyncToy to synchronize the local and portable copies of the libraries effectively giving me three parallel clones of the library at all times.

  • Background folder went black

I have macbook pro mid 2010 with Snow Leopard.
I formated my laptop 3days ago, so right now I have to install all the softwares I need
I was just installed my calibrator software (Spyder Elite 3) and when I tried to calibrate my monitor, the software crash and it gives me this black window background!
I removed the software and re-installed it again, everything works fine except for this black background still wont go away.
As you can see, I have it in "Thumbnail view" , it goes black. But when I change it to List view or any other views, the background is white just like usual.
I tried to change the background color under the folder options, but it wont change.
I also tried to restart my laptop, but that didn't work either.
    Any advice?

  • Duplicate User Folder, Application Folder, Library, etc, etc for same user

I just ran Omnidisksweeper and my Volumes folder is the largest with my active drive in it with my Users folders (9.6 gb), Desktop, Library, Applications, System. usr, etc. Below it in the hierarchy is Users (14.gb) with Desktop, Library, Applications, System. usr, etc.  My computer is really hanging and I don't have my Snow Leopard start disk to rebuild. Even when I get it I don't know which User Folder to keep. I can find the 14.0 user folder  which is my home folder but I can't locate the 9.6 gig User folder. Any ideas.

Well if rebecca doesn't show up in the accounts it must have come from some old update or somewhere.  In that case then, yes, you could just trash it.  But I suggest you do it this way in terminal (cut/paste):
    sudo rm -rf /Users/rebecca
The sudo will cause a prompt for your admin password.  The rm will delete the folder and there is not turning back one you do this.  This is faster than throwing stuff in the trash and avoids permissions problems too.
Just in case though I would suggest you backup your drive before attempting this.

  • Mac os x 10.9.5 home folder, library, Kindle content

Hi, I'd like to be able to see my home folder. My library. And my Kindle Content. In Finder. Not an expert in anyway, and what I thought should be done isn't working.
    Rasmus

In the Finder Sidebar preferences make sure you have your home folder checked.
In the General preference pane check all checkboxes:
And lastly for your home Library:
For Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring up this window:
and check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
