Background image changes after unlocking session

Hi,
I'm configuring BGInfo to use a default image, to load up whenever a user logs in to the session. Well this is already done.
However, whenever I lock the station, and unlock it back again, the BGInfo and desktop image all disappear. There is no automated mechanism in my configuration to change background, so this doesn't make me much sense.
Why's that, and how can I avoid this behaviour?

Hi,
Please check your BGinfo setting, Especially the Desktop
In addition, the default configured picture should loacate at %Temp%\BGInfo.bmp, after you unlock your computer, please check if it still locate there.

I want my page background to change automatically after a set period of time (almost like a very slow slideshow). Is there any reason (other than file size) I can't simply do this with an animated gif as my body background image? I haven't got the expertise to do anything too technical. Thanks

BG images are not meant to be animated. It's a performance problem - the browser would have to continually re-render the whole page, since GIFs work on specific increments. That's why it's not supported. What you wanna do would be best done with jQuery/ JavaScript or Flash, where the substitution can be controlled, so the browser only needs to work hard when there is actualyl something changing. whether that's a good idea, is another matter, though. Personally I really despise such toy-ish features, as they severely impair usability and readability.

How can you make a background image change to a faded state at a certain point in scroll?

I'm referring to a technique I've seen used in Relevant Magazine's iPad app if anyone has used it. I understand having a shape behind text that has a feathered gradient and when you scroll the text the shape gradually fades out the background image. But this is not the effect I'm trying to acheive. On some of the articles in Relevant, the screen is a full image and as you scroll the type up, the entire background dims when you scroll to a certain spot.
I've tried searching for hours, but I feel like I'm getting no where because I don't really know what to search for. I feel like it requires use of something other than what DPS is capable of. Hopefully this makes sense and I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions and help!

Try applying the feathered gradient to the scrollable content frame, not the background frame. It will appear to change the color of the background frame.

Why does the quality of my images change after I click on Save For Web?

After I click on "Save For Web" the quality of my images changes, how can I stop this?
I use photoshop CC on a macbook.

Colour background images changes when applying effect

Hey,
I created a page, with a large background image in the back. When applying an effect (like shadow, or transparency) to text above, the colour of the image below changes, it becomes less saturated. This persist even when exporting and viewing in Acrobat Reader.
Im using InDesign CS3 with Windows XP SP2

Desktop image changes after update or startup

Any one know why after a shut down and restart or after a system update half of my destop images change back to the default starview.. I have 8 separate desktops and the same ones always get knocke back to the default image. Then I go through the same process of customizing the desktop image and it sticks as long as I don't do a complete shutdown or updatge the system. And lately there's been a few updates.
Any insight would be helpful. While not a critical issue it's an annoying one for sure...

Hi Mende. Tried deleting the .plist in the library and after a few shutdowns got the same prblem happening again...Guess my Mac doesn't like my desktop pics...any other ideas?

Image changing after merge or flattening. How can I troubleshoot?

It happened on rare occasions before but recently I had the need to reset PS to it's default settings and it's happening with greater frequency. I'll make adjustments and when I try to shrink the file by merging or flattening the color profile or luminance will change. Often not a lot, but enough to notice.
My work around was to make a stamp copy and save that, but it sometimes doesn't work.
Can anyone suggest the settings I need to check to make everything seamless? Are there any color profiles that might change in the conversion I can check? I'm most often working in RGB in 16 or 8 bit mode. It's most often adjustments to levels or curves that don't take, but sometimes filters, too.
Here's an example of my workflow with two pics. The difference is subtle but it's annoying.
Filter sky out of photo, create mask to turn sky uniform white.
Command E to merge the mask with the photo.
Create Smart Object (from photo)
Apply cutout filter. Apply notebook.
Duplicate the SO with adjustments three times.
Use Lasso to select a piece (flag) and copy to its own layer.
Set that layer on top of the stack.
Set the filter for all three layers to multiply.
The texture from the filter Notebook fails every time I merge, flatten, or send back to LR and the color comes out lighter. Here's an example from this piece.https://flic.kr/p/r6A1Zd (what I want) https://flic.kr/p/qc5QTD (not what I want).

Thank you for the response. I did read it right after you posted it but waited until I had yet another chance to try it out. Both times, neither solution worked.
For whatever reason PS is showing me different images when I have my layers open from when I consolidate them -- no matter how I consolidate them. It doesn't happen every time and I can't identify a pattern except that it most frequently happens if I use the filters in the gallery. Also, it seems to not be applying color adjustments.
If I zoom the image to 100% the before and after is always different. If I save it to disk in .psd or .tiff I still get a different image. When I send it to LR I have a different image from what I've been working on. It's frustrating. It can happen in RGB, LAB, or CMYK. I'm going to try reinstalling PS to see if that makes a difference, but assuming it doesn't I somehow need to make PS show me what I'm working on. Do you know what settings affect the image preview, the version I see while I'm working on screen?
FYI, I'm using a 2013 iMac, 36GB RAM allocating PS with 90% of the memory.

We have an R12.1.1 instance on solaris and we are facing a strange problem.
The background color of the application changes to blue suddenly and the Users are not able to properly see the links which are in blue. If we bounce Apache, it comes back to normal but after sometime the problem comes back.
Please check the below two pictures to understand exactly how the color change is happening.

By default, the first image in your list will always load first. If you want to randomize the image sequence, use jQuery Cycle2 plugin with the "Random" option.

Background image path changes in Template

I have a template I've created, but whenever I attempt to
create a new page from that template the path to the background
image changes automatically causing it to disappear.
The template displays this path:
body {
background-image: url(../img/bg.gif);
background-repeat: repeat-y;
background-position: center;
background-color: #E8F1FA;
While the page created from the template shows this path:
body {
background-image: url(file:///B|/Web
Development/website/img/bg.gif);
background-repeat: repeat-y;
background-position: center;
background-color: #E8F1FA;
What is causing this? Thanks in advance.

How to Change log in background image without third party apps on Mountain lion

Hi I am trying to change the log in screen without using a third party app on OSX 10.8. every time I use Loginox the background image changes but if i create an image of that volume and reimage another mac with a different screen size the background becomes in tile mode. Does anyone know how to replace the log in background without the third party app?Thank you for the help.

Without third party application, you can not change the login screen linen background.

MUSE - Rollovers change background image

I want to create 4 button (image thumbnails) that, when you rollover them, the page's background image changes (the background images are different to the thumbnails). And when you rollover a different thumbnail, the background image fades into a different image (again, different to it's thumbnail).
Does anyone know how to achieve this? Ultimately, I'd also like the background image to scroll at a different rate to the thumbnails.

You can use compositions for this where the triggers can be configured with image for different states and target container should be large enough to cover page area , so that when thumbnail is hovered then that specific target will appear thus page background change.

Why does the color and or tone of my image change?

Why does the color and or tone of my image change after working in LR for a couple of hours? I open LR and everything looks fine - work for a couple of hours on the same shoot - but then the pictures start to look flat or greenish cast as time goes by. All the files get flat and the greenish cast after a couple of hours - the ones already worked on and the newer ones I'm pulling up to work on. RAW files downloaded from a Canon 30D. Also exporting to PSCS2 as PROPhoto results in a flat image. I switched back to export AdobeRGB.

Hola - thanks for the reply - yep - closing and then opening LR helps - but can't do that all the time after processing 3 or 4 files.
One reply was a corrupt monitor color profile - So I deleted that one and loaded a new adobeRGB profile. That helped a little also for a while - I then reloaded my monitor drivers and refreshed them - that help for a day - the greenish cast is back It works fine on my laptop for now. The same pictures that look greenish in LR look great in Canon DPP. So it probably wasn't the color profile or monitor drivers. My issue started with the small scale previews so I bumped that up. Still have the issue. I finished up a project and now going to uninstall and reinstall LR. Let's see what happens with a fresh install. andy.
