Background image not rendering correctly in Chrome

Can anyone see what I've done wrong with this bg image?  The footer has a 1 px wide repeating bg image which is fine in all the usual browsers except Chrome - getting the same effect in live view so obviously done something wrong, but can't find it.
Heres the url:  http://www.empathydesign.co.uk/development/2tp/index.php   usr:northernlight, pw: empnor733!
Thanks!

I'm running v 28.0.1500.95 m so that might explain the difference, although goodness knows why - once these browser discrepancies start up its very difficult to make any sense of them.  Very strange.
I hadn't thought of trying overflow:hidden, that's a good idea although obviously David's solution is the one to go with.
Thanks for the comments,

  • [SOLVED] KDE4.3 is not rendering correctly the images in the desktop

    I've posted a bug in KDE because the KDE images are not rendered correctly:
    https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202829
    You can see an image of my desktop at:
    https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=35921
    As someone suggests, and I also agree with him, it would be a driver problem. My graphic card is "ATI Radeon X1950 Pro" and I'm using the "xf86-video-ati 6.12.2-2" driver. I know that there are other possibilities according to this wiki:
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI
    I already tested them with KDE4.2 and xf86-video-ati provided the best result for me.
    Someone with an ATI card has the same problem? Which driver would you suggest to me?
    Thank you

    Thank flamelab for your help.
    The xf86-video-ati-git:
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15374
    fixed all my problems. Probably you've heard about it Now, I don't have any rendering problem and I have enabled the Desktop effects. I tested it with and without the xorg.conf file. Both of them worked, but without the file I don't have my keyboard in Spanish.
    I read that it was possible the KMS support. I tested it by changing from graphical to text mode but it takes some time so I guess that it's not enabled. Is there any way to test KMS?
    Is it possible to upgrade the AUR driver to the official repository? Meanwhile, I will comment my problem in the KDE site.

  • Adf application not rendered correctly with url ip and url localhost.

    Hi all.
    I have a strange problem. When I enter to my adf application deployed in a local stand alone weblogic server with the ip:
    http://localhost:7001/Application/faces/index
    it renders fine. But when I load it with the url:
    http://10.5.14.15:7001/Application/faces/index (private ip), it doesn´t render fine. Tables haven´t the same style, and some elements appear selected like if I have selected them with the mouse.
    This problem only happens with internet explorer, not with Chrome.
    Also when I see a table inside a region in a jspx, the with of the header of the columns is not rendered correctly, causing the width of the header row not be the same than the other rows.
    This problem also happens only with internet explorer.
    Any help please?
    Internet Explorer 8. JDeveloper 11g.2. Weblogic 10.3.5.0
    Also happens with Internet Explorer.
    Maybe encoding? doctype?
    Thanks

    What would the DOCTYPE have to do with the IP address?
    Have you looked at the HTML source in the different browsers and tried to debug what's wrong? Sounds like there may be some images/css files that aren't being downloaded in IE when you use that IP address. Are you sure IE isn't configured with a proxy?

  • JSP page not rendering correctly for remote system

    I have a jsp page that has an HtmlGraphicImage component that gets set by a method in a java bean using
    image2.setUrl( imageFilename );
    When I run the application on my local system (my development system running Studio Creator) the page comes up on my web browser with the proper image.
    However, when I try to access the page from a remote PC, the page comes up okay with all the static components, but the image is blank. When I look at the page source on that browser, the image url is set to blank (i.e. nothing inside quotes).
    Any ideas why this image is rendered correctly on my local system and not remotely?

  • Basic Layout not rendering correctly.

    ''locking as a duplicate of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1035123''
    Hello,
    I've been trying to debug a problem I was noticing on my production websites, so I dumbed it down to a quick codepen to show off the issue. http://codepen.io/anon/pen/GgoBNJ
    Basically, standard fonts (helvetica, arial, etc.) are not rendering correctly within a div. For some reason the text is pushing itself up ~2 pixels. Not to mention, fonts are looking very jagged within the browser for no apparent reason.
    I am setting up a basic div with hardly any styles and yet this produces two different renderings within FF and Chrome
    .box{
    font-family: Helvetica, Arial, Sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    border: 2px solid #FF5500;
    display: inline-block;
    width: 100px;
    This is causing me all sorts of headaches with designers who are trying to make layouts pixel perfect as I have zero control over something like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

    Some layers of the .psd document are not rendered correctly. However they are imported.

  • JPG images not displayed correctly in Bridge and Photoshop (Mac OS)

    (Note: I have copied the content of this query from the Creative Suites forum where I originally opened it.)
    I am using CS4 under OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G5 Quad with 23" Apple cinema display. Images which have been captured as JPG are displayed fine by Preview, but when opened in Bridge, Camera Raw or Photoshop. the colours are all "washed out". The attached screen capture should give an idea of the difference, with the upper being Camera Raw (image settings) and the lower being Preview. My monitor has been calibrated and I'm using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour space in Camera Raw and Photoshop. The colours displayed by Preview are pretty close to "real life". I find it virtually impossible to adjust the colours in Photoshop to get back to anything similar.
    After opening the image in Photoshop without adjustment, and Save As JPEG with embedded color profile, Preview displays the new image the same as Photoshop. Save As JPEG without embedded color profile, and Preview displays this copy just like the original. It seems that Photoshop is making different (incorrect) assumptions about what color space to use when there is no embedded color profile. Shouldn't it assume sRGB like virtually everything else (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB)? Or is its interpretation of sRGB incorrect? How can I fix this?

    …If there is someone out there who has experience of obtaining decent colour management in CS4 on a Power PC, I would really like to know how you achieved it.
    That would be yours truly, and I hasten to reply because I may have some insights that can help you too.
    Just get it it out of the way, here's my setup:
    Photoshop 11.0.2 ("CS4"); VersionCue disabled and uninstalled.—2.5 GHz Power Mac (PPC) G5-Quad; 16GB RAM; mutant, flashed 550MHz nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 1,700MHz 512MB VRAM; ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D LP SCSI card; Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 boot drives; Spotblight, Dashboard and Time Machine permanently disabled; dual 22" CRT monitors; USB wireless 'n' available but connected to the Internet via wired Ethernet; 1 FW flatbed scanner; 2 SCSI scanners (one tabloid-size transparency scanner and a film scanner); various internal & external HDs; FW Epson 2200 and Ethernet Samsung ML-2850ND printers; 2 X Back-UPS RS 1500 XS units.
    I can unambiguously and in good faith represent to you that my color management, from capture to print, is as spot-on as anyone with any kind of setup can hope to achieve.  Unequivocally and without qualifications.
    Now, first things first:  Forget about trying to synchronize color management across the point applications lumped together only by Adobe marketing fiat into a variety of meaningless "creative suites".  Concentrate on Photoshop.  Do not try to use Bridge to synchronize anything.
    The "suites" are a totally artificial construct created by Adobe bean counters and marketing types.  The point applications (i.e. the individual programs clumsily bundled together, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) are developed independently by separate engineering teams that are not only not in the same building, but in different cities, different states of the American Union, and even in different countries.  They have very little communication among them, if any, as evidenced by repeated posts in these forums by Photoshop engineering staff urging us, the end users, to let the other teams know in their own forums that a given problem exists and is actually affecting our work.
    Enough said about the cause of the problem.  The end result is that Color Management is at very, very different levels of progress and sophistication in each individual point application, with only Photoshop fully entitled to be considered state of the art.
    Secondly, a disclaimer:  I have been hanging on to my CRT monitors and take care of them as Jascha Heifetz used to take care of his Stradivarius.  I don't know what I will do if I manage to outlive the usefulness and accuracy of my CRTs (unlikely at this point).  I have despaired in futile efforts to bring the luminosity of any LCD monitor down to where I would feel comfortable calibrating and profiling it.  I believe my monitors are the foundation of my color management efforts.
    Especially if you have one of the extreme wide-gamut LCD or LED monitors, you'll face an uphill battle.
    Be careful to avoid any version 4 icc profiles, whether canned or generated by your calibration software.  Stick to version2 icc profiles.  Ask the manufacturer of your calibration software/hardware if in doubt.
    Here are some not-too-recent, but thoroughly representative screen shots of the calibration results I obtain with my monitors, which I calibrate and profile often and regularly (I validate the calibration at least several times per month).
    In a nutshell, my color management practices and settings mirror those described by Bruce Fraser, Jeff Schewe, Andrew Rodney and Gary Ballard's site.  I have learned from all of them.
    My working color space is ProPhoto RGB.  I choose to work with PSD and PSB files.  As a long-time, rabid JPEG hater, I only rarely deal with JPEGs, using them sporadically to illustrate a point in this forum or elsewhere in the web.  My main output consists of prints.
    I only deal with tagged image files (files with an embedded color profile) and often recommend beating up with a baseball bat any moron that hands you an untagged file—figuratively of course, but I find the expression gets my point across unambiguously.
    Following is a screen shot of some of my pertinent settings:
    Note that I have never bought into the "suite" concept myself.  I do have and routinely use Adobe Illustrator 10.x, InDesign 2.x and Acrobat Professional 8.x, but they are all older, independent versions of each point application, licensed at different times.
    Be further advised, that the answer to many problems offered by Adobe engineers often is not to install VersionCue, or uninstall it, or at least disable it.
    Also, as outlined at the beginning of this post, concentrate on Photoshop, not on synchronizing applications that can't really communicate with each other, despite the claims of Adobe marketing hacks to the contrary.
    One big caveat, do not fall into this trap:

    …I believe my problem has nothing to do with my monitor profile, for several reasons, but…
    …It seems extremely unlikely to me that…
    You either want to learn, or you don't.  You either want to solve your problems, or you don't.
    When you start arguing instead of studying, questioning advice instead of following it and detecting where you went wrong, you're on the right track to nowhere.  That attitude will get you there fast.  Remember you are the one with the problem, and only you can acquire the discipline to learn how to solve it.
    Go ahead and ask me anything that is not clear, just don't argue with me please, and don't tell me why you think Fraser, Rodney, Ballard and I are wrong.  You see, I am not experiencing any problem that needs fixing.  I have an interest in helping you, but not in hearing about your speculations, theories or conclusions.

  • PDF not rendering correctly

    Hi
    Can anyone help? I am using an iMac and have had a pdf emailed to me. When I login on to the site and select the PDF to view, it is not rendering correctly.
    I am not a technical person but to me it appears to open as a series of code, letters, numbers and symbols.
    Any ideas how to rectify this?
    Is it Adobe related or can I update the settings for the browser? I am using Safari.
    Thanks

    what OS & Safari version ?
    Often, removing any 'pdf' plugins in
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    and
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    then restarting the browser will solve pdf display issues, although in this case, it sounds as if the site is telling Safari that these are text type files & it's attempting to display them accordingly.
    Disabling plug-ins via Safari - Preferences - Security should also eliminate pdf plug-ins as a cause.

    I'm having an problem where the RequestCenter automated emails are losing most of their HTML formatting when viewed in Outlook 2007.  When I look at the same email in Outlook 2003, the HTML formatting is fine.  Here's a picture of the same email displayed in Outlook 2003 and 2007:
    When I view the source HTML of the email, I noticed that there are duplicate HTML, HEAD, and BODY tags that have been automatically added by RequestCenter.  Apparently these extra tags are ignored by Outlook 2003, but cause problems with Outlook 2007.
    This picture shows the HTML source in RequestCenter's HTML editor compared to the HTML source from within Outlook with the extra tags.
    I tried removing the HTML, HEAD, and BODY tags in the HTML editor, but the editor puts the tags back in when you save it.

    We've actually had the same problem and had opened a ticket with customer care - it's the editor that's in the version we have (or had, since we are going through the upgrade).  What we've had to do is embed xml tags in the body of the email too, and then the team that processes the email has a little application that will process the data in the tags and strip the HTML that the editor applies.  Not much help, I know.
    I've heard a rumor that the issue is fixed in 2007 with the new text editor - I'

  • 'Sorry, Too Many Cards' message NOT rendering correctly

    I'm seeing the 'Sorry, Too Many Cards' message not render properly for me on Palm Pre 1.3.1. I rebooted the phone and was able to reproduce the problem by opening up many cards. I have uploded a screenshot: http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/6525/browser20091511171212.png
    As you can see, the 'OK' button is not rendered correctly. If I remember correctly it supposed to be a green button? Also, the right side box is supposed to have an icon or something. I've never seen this error message NOT rendered properly before 1.3.1.
    BTW, like others have posted - once I get to a memory threshold I can't even open up core apps - like 'Device Info' (in case I needed to reboot the phone). I would have expected some high availability on these apps w/r/t memory management.
    I would upload more debugging information if I knew how on the Pre. But like I said I was able to reproduce on 1.3.1 before and after a reboot.

  • Image not rendering properly on timeline

    I'm working on an animatic using still images.  Occassionally, I need to scale in or move the image a bit.  This means FCPX has to render the image, which it usually does, but I am finding that in some cases, the image appears blurry when played at normal running speed, but when I pause, it's nice and clear.  Why is the image not rendering so that it plays clear when running?  The orange bar is not displayed to suggest it needs to render still.

    Uh, yup, that sure solved it.  Thanks Tom.
