Background images which change with scrolling, just how is it done?

Brilliant sites. What they have in common is a background image (of sorts) that changes with scrolling, I just cant get my brain around how it's done?

Hi,
I have created a custom master page from a html code and I have applied to it on my site collection, but when I open it on the web browser the background image just show up for a second or less and then the background turns white.
I'll aprecciate any suggestions in order to solve this.

According to your post, my understanding is that Background image of custom master page just shows for 1 second.
I recommend to change the class to use .main-content.
.main-content
background-color:#F4F2E5;
background: url('/Style%20Library/Images/image.png');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-;
You can also use a contol called cssregistration. Add a line that looks something like this, right below the existing csslink:
< SharePoint:CssLink runat="server" Version="4" /> (under this you add:)
< SharePoint:CssRegistration runat="server" name="/Style%20Library/Scripts/style.css" After="coreV4.css" />

When I try to print, I get one page with a header and the background image, another page with the content, and a third page with a footer and background image. How can I make it print properly?

Also, if I print to a .pdf, the background does not show up even if I have the checkbox checked to print background image.

I did not have the HP printer software for Mac OSX installed properly. Once installed the problem went away.

Links in mouseover images to change with the images

I have created a page with mouseovers on page headings that affect the main page image -- mouseover image 1 and the main image changes, mouseover image 2 and the main image changes again etc.
I have set the mouseovers not to revert on mouseout, so the mouseover images remain until you mouseover another of the heading images.
I need to set up links within the main images using image maps (I'd like to have mouseovers in there too, but have no idea if this is possible), links that change depending on which of the images is currently showing. How can I do this?

Just speculating here, but as long as you bring in the images to which you want to add the image-maps as foreground (not background) images, you should be able to do this.
That is, set up a "show/hide" behavior and not a changing background image (CSS). Background-images are just that, background, and they don't (as far as I know) have any events associated with them to which to attach behaviors.
You will have to set up the image-maps while the image is 'showing', of course. So before you set up the show/hide, expose the image, apply the image maps, then set up the show/hide.

Background Image Cuts Off - Browser Scroll Isn't Long Enough

Okay, fairly new to Dreamweaver, long-time graphic designer. That said, the answer will probably be easier than trying to explain the problem!
Using the Page Properties, I set the following in the Appearance (CSS) tab:
Background color to #000
Appearance HTML Background image (contains the image in question, created in Photoshop)
No-repeat
This Photoshop image is kind of long (960 x 2232) because there is a bunch of text that needs to flow on top. I thought that I reached some sort of maximum in height and so I reduced the height of the image a little and the same problem--cut off at the bottom of the browser. Note that this cut off issue was not a problem until I extended the graphic to this long length. On other pages, it is much shorter and all is well.
I've pasted a snapshot of the bottom of the web browser preview below. You can see that the scroll bar is at the bottom and there is just a small bit of the paper that is not showing. I would like the bottom of the paper to be seen with a little bit of the black background beneath that.
My first instinct is that I'm missing a bottom padding effect, but can't find where to adjust that type of setting.
Another Thought--I would much rather this graphic auto expand as the text flows over it, but did not know how to accomplish that, so I extended the graphic in the Photoshop file. Its not a tile type of image that can be repeated. It is an ancient looking paper, therefore, the top and bottom need to look a certain way, but the mid section could be tiled and repeated. So if this is a better route, please direct me on where to learn how to implement.

extra carriage returns were needed in the text frame to extend below the background image.

Why does my Background image color changes when I place an image ?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to make a presentation in InDesign. I put a background image into a different layer which I called "Background" and then I create a new layer which I called "Images" and place an image with a transparency layer. When I place this image onto the Images layer color of the image in the Background layer changes. I can not figure out why It changes its color. I'd be grateful to anyone who can help me resolve this problem ?

Edit > Transparency Blend Space... and set it to match the color mode of the background image.

Background image path changes in Template

I have a template I've created, but whenever I attempt to
create a new page from that template the path to the background
image changes automatically causing it to disappear.
The template displays this path:

background-color: #E8F1FA;
While the page created from the template shows this path:

Background image repeating, even with no-repeat?

I can't seem to figure out why my background image is repeating in Safari. I have set the page properties to no-repeat and it is working well in Firefox (Mac), but in Safari, my background image is repeating. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Which background are you seeing repeat? I presume it's the ../zoe/images/Zoe_site_off_01.jpg one, but I'm not seeing it repeat in Safari.

Stereo image & depth change with bouncing audio

every time I bounce a recording, the stereo image and depth of the audio changes.
To check this I made the following setup: I played the audiofile back over an RME Madiface USB and re-recorded the audio to a Sounddevice SD970 recorder over madi. All recordings were made in 92/24. When I reimport the SD970 file in a new file and compare it (Invert Phase) with the bounced file from Logic, I hear the "space" I'm missing.
I tried changing output busses, using no Fx on the master bus (I use altiverb 6, Elysia alpha comp and Isotope 6), using no aux busses at all. The phenomenon does remain the same.
Anyone experienced this?

Maybe.. Thats why I asked if you bounced in realtime or offline.. but as you did both, then that doesn't seem to be the case
However, have you tried using a different reverb, like Logic's own Space Designer (which is excellent by the way) as a temporary replacement initially... and determine if switching out reverbs to a different one, makes any difference to the effect you are hearing... after bouncing? This would help eliminate Altiverb as a possible cause...

Photo file names in ipad changed with last update, how can I change them ?

When I transfered photos from my SD card to the ipad, it created an event naming it after the date pictures were taken, after last ipad OS update SOME of the events names changed to 126IMPRT, xxxIMPRT, etc not even in order of date taken, and the others remained with the date. Can someone tell me how to fix this and put them back with the date, and keep naming them with the date when transfering from the SD card?. This is strictly for the ones transfered to the ipad directly, has nothing to do with the photos transfered using iphoto. These are ok.

Thanks Applematt9812, that works great. I never saw that before. It lets you group pictures under the Albums tab nicely.
But, unfortunately, it doesn't fix the names of the groups that get created under the Events tab when you load pictures from a camera card. If that was editable it would help.

Some one could give a hand telling me how to upload the .bmp image converted to .logo with bmp2logo.exe application in a CME for a 7912 IP Phone?? I mean, how to display it in the IP Phone.

Crop a background image (movie) - working with a template

I'm working with the template "Promo > Product Shot". The image block with the bike is what I want to replace with my own video clip.
I can't figure out how to replace it, so I took the video clip and "placed" it. That's all fine, but now I want the size of the video clip to match the size of the bike block. I can scale it down to get close but then I'd have to crop the sides to get the vertical block shape.
Can't figure out how to do this either. Is it even possible?

Displayed icon for audio files changed with snow install - how to I restore

After installing 10.6, the icons displayed on audio files (aiff, mp3, etc.) became a black square with a music symbol in it when it should be the default application icon or quicktime icon. The icon in the upper left corner of the info window is correct, but the hideous square displays. How do I restore to the correct icon?

I have the same problem. I produce a daily podcast ("Mister Ron's Basement") and I have almost 1500 episodes on my hard drives in both the original recordings (aiff files done with Sound Studio) and mp3 versions. They used to have different icons, and even though the aiff files will still open in Sound Studio automatically, they all have the same black square icon. Used to be, at least you'd get an icon that had the word with the file type on it, but no more. I have changed many of the back ones with Candy Bar, after sorting them by file type, but every new file I create, I have to go to get info and change the icon by hand. Not very professional, and a waste of my time. Can I expect sound icon differentiation to be returned to the Macintosh Operating System at some time in the near future?

When upgrading the software my screen locked with image music connector with lights flashing how do I get out of this?

I have a new latest apple tv. I was asked do I want a software upgrade, when I said yes, after 5 minutes the screen locked with an image of a connector cable with music.
I pulled the power, the hdmi and reconnected and it went back to the image on the screen. the white light is flashing fast - does anyone know what to do?
