Background in Transport

BW Gurus,
An Object in BW which has got mapped with another object in R/3 is being transported from Dev to Quality.
How this tranport will be handled? Whether can we see
any associated-mapped objects of BW in the transport screen.

hi Rajesh,
we won't see any mapped objects bw-r/3 in transport screen.
fields from r/3 are assigned to bw infoobjects in transfer rules maintenance
(assign datasource from r/3 to bw infosource). we transport datasource in r/3 from r/3 dev to r/3 qa/prod and do 'replicate datasources' to bw qa/prod.
then transport infosource and transfer rules etc from bw dev to bw qa/prod. can use rsa1->transport connection->
use infosource as starting point and collect with 'in dataflow before', remember to mark r/3 source system in 'source system assignment'.

Hi,
Run the program RSTRANSP and give the name of the program and the variant name.
It will create a transport request for the variant.
the rest of the process is the same as is the case with all other transport requests.

Gallery Demo... how to toggle background-image on playLabel

Anyone? I'd like something besides the play/pause text --
basically, using a background-image... how can I tap into whatever
it is that toggles the text to get it to toggle the css instead?

here's a solution that seems to work for me:
1) look in the gallery.js file and find the StartSlideShow()
function
2) Find the two instances of playLabel.firstChild.data=
3) put a single space in there instead of play and pause
4) create your graphics for previous, next, play and pause
5) add IDs to your links in the #transport
<li><a> (#nextLabel, #prevLabel, #playLabel)
6) set up css rules to use your next, prev and pause graphics
as background-images, using this format:
#transport a#nextLabel:link, #transport a#nextLabel:visited {
background-image: url(sharedimages/next.gif);

Transport Monitor issue

When my Mac restarts, I get the message "Transport Monitor could not complete your request (-4960)"

1 In the finder, search for files called: com.palm.HS
2 Delete them. Restart then try a HotSync®.
However if the steps didn’t resolve anything, click on the apple icon at the upper left corner and follow the steps below.
1 Click SYSTEM PREF.
2 Click on ACCOUNTS.
3 Then click STARTUP ITEMS.
Or
1 Click SYSTEM PREF.
2 Click LOGINS ITEMS.
Then
1 Check in Preference Applications,
2 Click on Login items.
3 Make sure that Palm Desktop Background and Transport Monitor are listed only once. Otherwise, trash the duplicates.
4 Restart the Mac.
And then,
1 Check on the folder:
Hard drive > applications > utilities >
2 Run disk utilities.
3 Choose the hard drive.
4 Click on disk permissions.
5 Click on verify disk permissions. This would take sometime to complete.
6 After the process is done, restart the Mac again.

Transport Monitor - Could not complete your request (-4960)

What this really mean ???
I install a new application that can sync text files between mi Mac and the Palm Z22. That because i hate Palm Desktop and i was looking a sustitute.
I want to use iSync Conduit but because don't sync Memos that i use so much, i try with MacNoteTaker that working great till the third sync.
Now every time i startup mi Mac show me that window message error and don't let me sync and when i open HotSync Manager don't show me the window that let me enable or disable HotSync.
I try to reinstall the software again from the CD but the same.
Any idea ???, because i can't sync now and i need to solve this.

Turning On Bex reporting Flag

Hi,
We have ODS size of 7 million records. The Bex reporting Flag is swithched off on this ODS and I would like ON it now.
Do I have to clean the data and relaod everything back in or is it ok to switch on the Flag now and transport it?

Hi,
You can turn on the bex reporting without deleting data, but if you activate the ODS it will create SID for the entire ODS contents. It may take long time to activate depending on the ODS size. See whether you have enough wait time in your foreground and background(while transport) before doing this.

ChaRM: Normal Change - Not possible to set "Successfully Tested" unless the Maint. Cycle is set to "In Development with Release"

I'm doing some tests with ChaRM, Normal Change scenario.
As far as I know, the following steps would be the correct sequence (concerning development and test phases only):
1) Developers perform the correction in DEV and release their TASKS of the transport request
2) Developer Lead set the Normal Change document status to "to be tested"
3) In background, a Transport of Copies is created with all data previously stored in the original transport request. Then this ToC is transported into QAS
4) Change Manager set the Maintenance Cycle status to "Test"
5) Tester performs the test into QAS
6) Tester provides a valuable feedback and set Normal Change document status to "tested successfully"
According to the following SAP Portal article, it seems to be correct:

During my tests, however, I have noticed that it is just possible to go from step 5 to 6 if the Maintenance Cycle status is set to "In Development with Release" (go a step back in the Cycle). Otherwise, I get the following error messages:
Warning Message Details Status was reset by system
Warning Message Details Action RELEASE_ALL cannot be performed during this maintenance phase
Warning Message Next status cannot be set because some actions cannot be executed.
Once I have done the Cycle status change, then it is possible to move from 5 to 6 without errors and then the original transport request is transported into QAS too.
Question: Is this the correct behavior or am I missing customizing?

Thanks for your reply.
It is kinda weird the steps sequence, since the Tester needs to tell the Change Manager to move the cycle's status before approving the correction done in QAS (successfully tested).
Perhaps a new action between "to be tested" and "successfully tested" could exist, in order to request the CM to perform the cycle update.
But OK, that's how it is.

Error message - Conduit Manager Volume is Locked/File is locked

Just bought a new Tungsten E2 and tried to sync to my new Mac OSS .51. When I try to sync, I repeatedly get a message saying "Conduit Manager, Volume is locked." After clicking "ok" about 5 times, I get a message saying "File is locked."
Also, which connection should be selected from the available connections in preferences?

I just found the answer on another site since I had the same problem with my Zire 72. It worked fine and then didn't. Here's the solution from that site cut and pasted below. I've included the person's name who had the solution on the bottom so he gets credit.
However, there are times that your userdata really locks up on you due to some minor application duplications. If ever you experience this problem:
1. Search for "user data" file. Get info and then checked if the data is locked. If data is locked, unlock it.
2. Go to Sys Prefs. Go to accounts. Under My Accounts, check startup items. Try to check if you have Palm Desktop Background and Transport Monitor. If you have duplicates of both or triplicates, delete them. Make sure that you only have one for each file and the type is "application".
3. Search for "com.palm.HS" files. delete those files. restart your mac and you're up and running.

Multiple Transports in Background

Something was changed in my STMS configuration (4.6C Core system) and it is now allowing multiple background jobs to be scheduled through STMS.
Previously the system would provide an error if there was already one transport job released in the background, but now it's allowing multiples and I cannot find what was changed in the system to allow this.
Does anybody know where the configuration settings for this is?

The answer is that I overlooked the config of the system in STMS. The parameter of NO_IMPORT_ALL is set to 1, which allows multiple background jobs for STMS.

Background job has its own mechanism, it depends on many entities like user, parameters, host server etc..
Never try to create ABAP code to transport a batch job to other system, it takes less than 2 mins to create a new one.
You feel very flexible if you follow the SAP standards.

Transport request import scheduled in background fails

Hi folks,
In our landscape we have PRD and an Application server. We want to import transport requests in background at a defined time. Though the job status shows up as finished however in the job log it reports - Transport control program tp ended with error code 0232.
In the STMS queue, the request is in still being imported status for long time unless SAP is restarted.
If I change the job in SM37 and give one of the servers (PRD or Appl server) as the execution target the job finishes successfully and request is imported.
My Question is how can I get the job to finish properly without having to enter the execution target each time? I should schedule the transport in background in STMS and it should finish without error.

Cause and prerequisites
In the transport configuration file TP_DOMAIN_<TDC_SID>, where <TDC_SID> is the SID of the R/3 system which is used as transport domain controller, the database name of the affected R/3 system is written in lower case, thus you will find the following entry:
     <SID>\DBNAME = <<sid>>
Solution
From within the transport domain controller <TDC_SID> change the transport log in the affected system. To do this, proceed as follows:
      1. Call up Transaction STMS.
      2. Choose "Overview/Systems". On the following screen select the affected system.
      3. Choose "Transport tool" and "Display <--> Change".
      4. For DBNAME write the SID in upper case.
      5. Save and let configuration distribute immediately.
      6. Exit maintenance.
To ensure that no incorrect transport configuration file is generated with a new setup or an enhancement of the transport domain and subsequent activation and distribution, change function module TRINT_PP_GET_DEFAULT_VALUES as described in the attachment or apply the respective Hot Package. (You should do this for all systems participating in the transport domain and not only in the transport domain controller <TDC_SID>.)

Running a Transportable tablespace Script in hohup (background process)

Hello I am trying to get this to run in the background, but am not having sucess:
$ nohup `master_tts_transfer -e 10.87.90.204` &
I am seeing the output on the screen, and if I exit the session then it kill the process.
Any ideas are appreciated!

Create a script that call the script and passes the parameters.
i.e.
vi wrapper_master_tts_transfer.ksh
#!/bin/ksh
export RUN_DIR=<path to script>
$RUN_DIR/master_tts_transfer -e 10.87.90.204
Then run
nohup ./wrapper_master_tts_transfer.ksh &

Hi,
You can create the jobs in the gold client and get it transported. (Ask Basis to do as per their company naming standards of the job description).
WE20, is client dependent and cannot be transported, it needs to be maintained in each client across all systems.
Basis usually does this activity as part of their cutover plan.
