Background on top of foreground content in IE 6

I have a problem with one computer where I work that will not display the site I created with iWeb. When the Welcome page loads everything seems to load properly, but after everything loads the background covers all of the foreground content leaving only a white (textured) background. This only happens on one computer where I work. Two others also running Windows 98 (Pentium III's) display the site correctly, both are running IE 6. Our one Mac computer also loads correctly. The problem computer is a Pentium I computer also running IE 6.

3D Issue: background group showing up on top of foreground group

I have a group of clone layers that are positioned in the background that are inexplicably appearing on top of foreground elements. This first occurred when I applied a filter to the background clone group. Removing the filter put them back in the background, but now they are back on top and I don't know what is causing this.
Both groups are set to be 3D groups.

Applying a filter to a 3D group almost always causes the group to get rasterized (a little box appears around the group's icon in the Layers List), which means it will be comped in layer order, rather than depth order. If you search for "rasterize" in the 3D Supplemental manual (found in the Help menu), you'll find a more detailed explanation.

Page Background Lost on Regions above Content Area for Some Pages

Hi - I am a iWeb novice, but not a total rookie on this kind of software...
I have a simple iWeb project that applies a gradient fill to the page background, and applies one of the gradient colors to the Browser background on every web page. I am using the "White" theme, and I have trouble with the "Photos" page template drawing Page backgrounds correctly. I have my content area set wider than the default to 1008 pixels to fill a 1024-wide display. I set my display area to 877 pixels high to coincide with the largest media dimension that I see with the inspector.
I looked here for previous discussions on this and failed to find anything. Maybe I missed a post...
Initially, most web pages load and display correctly the first time. One Photos web page, however, displays the Browser background - not the Page background above the centerline of the page name.
On several pages with a "Photos" template (but not all), the initial page is displayed correctly. But, when I click on a photo thumbnail and the page is revised to display the larger photo image in the content area, the Browser background is displayed in error above the content area, and the Page background displays correctly below the top of the content area.
I have looked for some consistent issue or characteristic that might let me predict when this problem occurs, but it ll looks rather random. It is repeatable, though - clearing caches and reloading the same page exposes the problem the same way a second time for the same page, in other words...
Is this a bug, or something subtle in placement or overlap of areas on the page that I haven't noticed? Anything to be careful with to avoid this problem?

Thank you for your interest and replies. Here is a simple page that illustrates the problem I am having with a Page Background Gradient Fill on top of a Browser Background Solid Fill

Here, I intend the page from the very top to the bottom of the defined content area to transition from pink to white as the eye moves left to right. The browser background is also pink to add some depth to the image - that's what you will see when the page loads.
Click on the child's drawing to present the image, and you should see the gradient disappear above the centerline of the second text box (above the comment area) when the page finished loading with the large drawing.
The Content area coincides precisely with the bottom of that second text box. I have tried to move the content area further below the text boxes so that they are not imtimate - no difference. I haven't tried to separate the text boxes, yet.
The two text boxes immediately above the content area are 45px x 630 px (18 pt text) and 30 px x 630 px (14 pt text) - they overlap by about 10 pix.
The content area that displays the thumbnail is 1008 px x 445 px (I thought that I set that at 877px...). I can try to set the content area to 877 px... Maybe this is the problem - maybe the Page Background shifts down to coincide with the bottom of the next page#2... Hmmm...
When you click on the thumbnail, the page#2 content area is 1008 px x 877 px.
In iWeb, this all looks the way I want it to.
Please diddle with the page, and ask me any new questions! I appreciate your insight and help. In reality, Kylie won't notice the background change, but my next objective is a corporate site - this child's site is my "training" site. iWeb is really pretty flexible and easy to use. If I there's a work-around or something to avoid, I can live with iWeb just fine.

Background partially flowing over the content div, making coding difficult to see-ok in browser?

I have a weird problem. The whole page background is partially covering the content div in split view - not code - just the browser view side.
When I open it in a browser - it is fine, but in Dreamweaver I cannot see what I am doing. I have to copy all content and just paste it in - hoping for the best.
Does anyone know if there is a way to fix that. I am thinking that it would have to be something to do with CSS but am a newbie and just don't know what.
I've searched and tweaked things but nothing works.
Could someone help. The site has Template, and editable container and content divs (content nestled inside container).
The color overflows only partially too, which is really confusing - I can see about 3/4" of the top. (the white stripe).
Is there a way to specify that the background should be below the content layer?

Can we see your HTML and CSS code? Please copy & paste into the web forum reply. Don't use e-mail, it won't come through.
It might be something simple in your code. But then again, it might be the inherent difficiencies of Design View which often times does NOT render CSS Layouts correctly. I encounter this quite often in my work so I rarely use Design View. I usually use Code / Live View and Preview in Browsers to check my work.
One option is to turn off CSS styles by going to View > Style Rendering > deselect Display Styles. This will only effect Design View. You will still see your styles in Live View and Preview.

Hi Tom,
Your LOOKUP formula will return a value that it finds in the "other" table. That value can be used in conditional highlighting rules. (Numbers 3 calls it conditional highlighting, not conditional formatting. Just to keep us awake, I guess, but it works the same).

Yes you can do this in so mamy ways...
GOTO RSCRM_REPORT -> select your query -> click on the extract button and set the parameters...table or file Execute.
Create an APD in RSANWB select your query and you can store the result in ODS table...cube...
Create a reporting agent and store the result.

Running Workflow step in Background & code inside doing Foreground proceing

Hi all,
I am extracting an attachment (file) from DMS (document management services: txn: CV02N) to the presentation server in Background Mode. Again my Function Module is uploading the file in the forground Mode and at this point workflow is giving error about the presentation server.
Please can anyone help me if what am doing is wrong, and if yes then what would be the proper solution.

I will try to explain you the problem.
The problem is I need to extract the contents of file attached to DMS, which is available only as a link, so using the BAPI_*CHECKOUTVIEW I need to download it on the presentation server so that file / attachment will be available on presentation server and then I can upload the file / attachment in SAP and will read its content in internal table.
Now the problem is I am using above FM in a Workflow method. Workflow is doing the processing via WF-BATCH which is a background user by default. Now the question is
1) How can i get the file / attachement from the link in the DMS in the background mode and again upload it in SAP in the background mode?? (I tried it but the only BAPI i found is given above, which is creating a local file based on the link in DMS)
OR
2) How can I run / test the workflow in foreground mode(by default WF-BATCH (system) is running the workflow in background mode). But then it is always advisable to run the workflow in background mode until an agent assignment (user interaction) is necessary. And I guess whosoever will run workflow , it will run by system user only, which is background user.
OR
Any other solution you can think of.

Top Site new content indication missing

I just started using Safari 4 this summer. I like the Top Site thing. However, how do you see when one of the sites in the Top Site view is updated? According to the graphics on Apple's web page, a white star against a blue background should show when a site has new content, but I have never seen that in my Safari. I can see that the sites have new content but I do not get the star indication at all. This happen even if I create a new user account and run Safari 4. Am I missing something obvious here?
My computers are all updated to the latest software and I do not have any extras installed in Safari except from the usual crap (Flash, Shockwave, Silverlight) and removing that (or Safari preferences) doesn't change anything.

Might be a corrupted preference file causing the update problem. Go to your Finder: Your User Account>Library>Safari folder. There, move the topsites.plist to the trash. Also, in the same Library>Preferences folder, move the com.apple.safari.plist file to the trash. Then restart Safari.
You'll need to repopulate your top site page. Also, as the Safari preferences have been reset to default values reestablish any of your custom settings.

Can I get rid of the bright orange background on top... the transparent tabs can't be seen in front of the orange background.

I'd like to either change the orange background or change the appearance of the tabs so that I can see them better. They are transparent right now and cannot be seen.

Right-click on a toolbar, then click on the "Tabs on Top" entry to de-select it.

Eyedropper Tool sets Background color instead of Foreground

Q: Why does the Eyedropper Tool set the Background color instead of the Foreground color when I click in my image?
A: The reason for this is that the Background swatch is "targeted" to accept the color information passed on by the Eyedropper Tool when you use it to sample a color. You can reset the behavior by clicking on the Foreground swatch in your Colors Palette/Panel. See the image below:

No matter which swatch is targeted, you can choose to temporarily sample color into the other swatch by holding down the Option key (ALT on Windows) while you sample with the Eyedropper Tool.
If you'd like to have the current Foreground and Background colors (as displayed in your Toolbox) switch places, simply tap the 'X' key on your keyboard.
Finally, to reset the Foreground and Background swatches to their default of black and white, simply tap the 'D' key.

Click on Windows and color. There is a setting there to change from
foreground to background. The one with the box around it is the default setting.

Top-Level Navigation content problem

I have a bsp iview. I had inserted this iview in the first position of
a role. This role has more iviews. The role hava entry point. When I
click in the top-level navigation (role), it launchs the iview but i
can't see the content of the role in the top-level navigation. If I put another kind of iview in the first position. I can see the correct top-level content.

How to cancel the background color in the tools content tab?

I have a gray background at top of page behind navigation toolbar and other toolbars. It's not part of the theme. How can I change it?

After installing version 4, all web pages have a gray background, with blurry diagonal stripes, at the top, behind all the toolbars. It is not part of the theme and is unaffected by changing themes. It does not extend down to the rest of the page. I don't like the way it looks and would like to change it. I'm not sure if this is a default, or something that I inadvertently did myself. It has been there since I first installed. Any ideas?

You may have installed a persona.
You can uninstall your current Persona and revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Swf layered on top of dreamweaver content

I have created a password swf so when the user enters the
correct password the swf plays to the end frame. I want to load
this into a dreamweaver page covering existing images/html content
and when the correct password is entered, I would like the swf to
disappear revealing the contents of the dreamweaver html page. Any
suggestions appreciated.

You could set the background on the SWF to tranparent using
the WMode
parameter when adding it to the page, but this approach is
not completely
supported cross browser. Also you could run into problems if
the page
contained clickable elements as the flash file would still be
obscuring
them.
