Background pictures changing once DVD is created....

So I have a simple DVD which Ive placed a picture for the background of my main menu. I have a submenu that also has a background picture. Now when I preview the DVD each menu shows it's appropriate background, but once I create the DVD, it shows the submenu background for the main menu as well. I actually have 2 submenus and the one background takes over for all backgrounds on all menus. It's really annoying. Anyone know what might be happening?

I don't know what is causing your problem, but a good place to start is to delete iDVD's preference file. Preference files are notorious for becoming corrupt and a sign of that can be weird things happening when you are working in the application.
So, with iDVD closed, go Home(YourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.idvd.plist. Drag this plist file to the trash. iDVD will create a new one when you reopen it. You may need to reset the preferences if you have changed them from the default. Take a look at your current preferences before trashing the file so you can reset them if necessary.
You might also want to do a 'repair permissions' on your computer's drive. Use Disk Utlity for this. Just highlight your drive's icon in DU's list on the left and click on 'Repair permissions.' It may take a while, but when you receive the notice that it is completed, reopen iDVD and see if it runs well now.
Post back if these suggestions do not help.

I listen to alot of podcasts while driving. I create a smart playlist with podcasts/number (which I edit after I see how many new ones have downloaded)/most recently added match this rule, no live updating then I give it a name e.g. "Wednesday 1048pm"

Often I haven't listened to all the podcasts on a playlist yet but I want to connect my ipod to my computer and start the next smartplaylist since I know I will go through them all while driving. Often my latest smartplaylist seems to make changes with the previous list.

Since it is a custom order type it all depends on its configuration. Probably you need to check from the settlement side as what would be effect. If both the order types are settling to MAT(Material) then I dont see an Issues of wrong order type, the other thing may be interms of any custom reporting taken based on order type.
If you still feel that this needs to be sorted out. You can reverse the confirmation and Goods movment from the wrong order(Order type) and then set deletion flag to it, then create a new order with correct order type and perform Confirmation and Goods movement.

Background Pictures Changes to Default

Each time I reboot my iMac (not very often), my desktop picture always reverts to the Leopard Default, my Macbook doesn't suffer this fate, I've looked everywhere and cant see what is causing this odd behaviour.
Has anyone else out there suffered the same problem and found a way to resolve it?

Its probably being caused by some sort of corruption wither in a cache file or in the disk directory. Have you tried all the basic troubleshooting steps like those listed in this FAQ?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Then try deleting the library again.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Need DVD disk root window to show a background picture. How?

Please forgive me.. but I've searched for an answer and can't seem to find one. I created a DVD for a town to be used in DVD players. I also included on the DVD an Extras folder that has a web site and pdf's. What I want to do to polish it off is to insert a picture into the window that opens when the user opens the DVD in their computer, a background picture with the window in icon view. I've seen this done with other DVD's like "Call of Duty 2" installation DVD. Is there a way I can do this for my DVD? will this work for viewing on Windows PC's? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks again. I'm not going to give up just yet.. I think I read somewhere that the window settings for each window is stored in an invisible file called ".DS_Store". I sure every folder, disk image, volume etc.. has one.
When I made reference to "Call of Duty 2", when I insert the DVD into my computer and click on the disk to open it, the resulting window has a picture in the background and a folder that contains the game to place in the applications folder. The HIDDEN files (invisible) include the ".DS_Store" file and interestingly enough .. the background image that is being displayed.
What I've tried so far was to create a disk image in iDVD of my project. I then opened that .dmg file and copied the contents to a regular folder. (just the visible files). I then customized the new folder view options with a background picture and included the picture used in the same folder. I logged out of my account.. logged back in, opened the folder and it presented me with the background picture I wanted.
I then went to DiskUtility, and created a .dmg file of my new folder. But when I opened up the newly created .DMG file, it lost its customized window settings. No more background picture.. even though the picture file was still included.
My DVD project works when inserted into a regular DVD player. I've included extra material on the disk that is accessible when the DVD in used in a computer. This is when I want the background picture to show up. Just a little extra polish for my project.

My system preference freezes when I try to change my desktop background picture, any help, I tried disk utility repair, couldn't find the files to trash.

Login to the problematic account ensure that System Preferences is closed down. Move the following file to trash:
<home>/Library/Caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
but don't delete it from the trash yet, just in case you need to restore it. Re-open System Preferences, it will re-create the file. If all's well then, then you can empty the trash.

How do I change the background picture that is shown when i start my Mac?

On the iMacs in my school they have a different name for everyone of the after for example the band Queen and then there is a picture on the inlogg screen with queen on it. So then you log in and there is another background picture after that. I Have a macbook pro and I would like to change that "start-picture".

It sounds like you're using Adobe Send for Outlook. Correct?
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the default text that is inserted into your message. You'll have to change it each time.

Changing background picture every 5 seconds.....having issues

When I switch the background picture to change every 5 seconds my computer either freezes, runs slow, doesn't work normal (if I open another application it won't be functional). I have 1gb of ram (came with the computer) so I'm not sure if this is where the problem stems from.
If I set it to change the picture ever minute then I don't have any problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it at all possible that you have maxed out your download cap. You therefore will have reduced speed during peak times.
Does not explaine your speedtest results out side of that.
You have checked all your equipment and tested on the your test socket and changed filters etc.
If all of this is done and it's still the same, sadly a call to support will need to be made so they can investigate further.

Laptop 'hanging' when trying to change background picture

Hi
I've tried to change the background picture under system preferences - desktop/screensavers. When I tried to select a picture from my iphoto-folders the system hung and won't come back at all until I shot it down with the on/off button. I wasn't even able to do a forced quit...
Did somebody encounter this as well?
It actually worked fine again after a restart, but still I think this a strange behaviour.

If I can jump in here, Jason is asking about background applications of which there are several always running. You can check this by opening Activity Monitor (in Applications> Utilities).
Changing pictures is affected by a number of other applications, including (oddly) the Dock.
When you selected the picture, was it in one of the Original or Modified folders? Try copying the picture and moving it to a separate folder in the Pictures folder and selecting it again.
