Background program Run

Hi,
I have a situation where
1. If selection screen has range of value of date field - execute report in background
2. If selection screen has single value of date field - execute report in foreground.
How do I achieve this and what settings I need to do.

Yes the question should be more specific.
When you run sm37 what job, table gets called internally..................
Run the tcode and the go to system\status and then look at program screen.

Background program running and can't figure out what it is...

I have an IMAC desktop, I just purchased the Photoshop Elements 10 software for MAC, installed it, running fine. But now I have program that is contanstly running in the background that is slowing up all of my other applications I run while I'm working. I've checked the Activity Monitor but I can't see anything out of the norm...Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm very frustrated....

I presume you mean that the hard drive is working on something. Again, any such process would show in the Activity Monitor. Check that again, confirming that you have "all processes" set so you can see everthing that's going on. It will be easiest to spot anything unusual if you click on the "% CPU" column header to sort by the amount of CPU time each process is using. Click twice so that the arrow is pointing downwards; then the top users of CPU time will be listed at the top. Post the name of any process that's consistently or unexpectedly using a significant amount of CPU time and we can probably figure out what's happening and offer suggestions.

We have scheduled Workflow agent listener program to be run after 5 minutes but it runs every minute more than once and fills concurrent request queue.
Please help.
EBS 12.1.1, DB 11.1.0.7, Linux 5.

Looks like this concurrent program was scheduled to run more than once? Maybe under a different application user?
What if you cancel the recent schedule you made, would you be able to reproduce the issue then?

"GUI Download" not working if program run background

Dear All,
I`ve created program to download my internal table using function module GUI_DOWNLOAD and it works fine if run foreground. The problem is now when the program run background it didn`t work and got error "Could not ascertain code page".
Or maybe somebody hv another idea how to download that data to frontend drive but the program should run background.

Program running in the background

Hello!
I am wondering if it is possible to create a java program that runs in the background on a mobile phone. I.E can it run without beeing interuppted by a call or the locking of the key pad.
Is it possible to let the program run without interfering with the normal functionallity of the phone?

There are very few legitimate problem domains that would require what you are asking about. There are illegitimate ones though. And the legitimate ones would generally require someone with quite a bit of programming experience and would also be required (the fact that java can't do it would not get rid of the requirement.)

i've read here that pressing the home button for a couple of seconds when you want to permanently quit a program helps conserve battery power...FYI, a program continously runs even after you quit from it resulting in unecesary battery consumption. thats why i ask this question.
does this function terminate only that program or ALL other programs running in the background of iphone?
if it does not, restarting/re-booting iphone (holding sleep and home buttons until logo appears) is the only solution to terminate ALL programs

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

I would just add that it is not necessary. The programs referred to are only the recently used programs, and are not "running in the background" with the sometimes exception of GPS apps and music apps. They are simply dormant in the memory. The operating system will remove these programs if the space is required.

I noticed some of the programs running in the background of my computer are using up a lot of memory so I was wondering if it is it a good idea to quit mdimport, pipedaemon, pbs and/or ATSServer? What would happen if i did.

Not a good idea, no. What is "a lot of memory"? In general, the Mac OS is very good at memory management. mdimport is for system indexing (Spotlight) and ATSServer manages type (fonts), you need to leave those running. pipedaemon is apparently part of the HP printer driver package, I have no idea what pbs is.
Having said that, on my system none of these processes use more than 10-12 MB each, of my 2 GB total - that's pretty insignificant.
