Background turning blue?

Well, recently after i had my macbook pro back from repairs the screen keeps flickering blue a few times and sometimes the whole screen goes blue and wont go back to normal unless i turn the whole machine off. When i turned on my laptop now, and opened up safari - my background on my laptop randomly changed to green and then blue. I had one of the default apple pictures as my background - WHICH I HAVE NEVER CHANGED!! i changed it back to this picture but then the background turned blue once again :s.
Can someone tell me what i can do to stop this or if there is a problem with my laptop? because I am confuzzled on why its doing this ^^ :s

Hi rllenovo,
please don't forget that this is a peer to peer forum, provided by Lenovo in order that members may seek assistance from others and share their experiences. There is a Lenovo presence here but unfortunately they are not able to address every issue and therefore there is no guarantee you will receive a direct response.
It is possible that no other members are experiencing, or have experienced the same as you, or if they have, haven't been online since you posted. Sometimes in forums you need to bring a little patience with you. Alternatively you have the option of contacting Lenovo support.
It maybe that because you chose a user name with Lenovo in it that other members think you work for, or are associated with Lenovo and maybe felt that other channels of assistance would be available to you and hence offered no comment???

  • Background turns blue when opening new file or exiting file.

    Hello,
I am working in Photoshop cs6 on a PC, Windows 7.  I was working on my Wacom tablet and accidentally dropped my pen tool on the tablet.  When I looked up, my background was blue.  I'm not sure what happened, but I can't figure out how to change it back to white.  It must have changed something, just don't know what.  This happens if I open a "new page" or if I open an exiting file.  I checked preferences, it all seems ok there.
Photoshop open normally as seen below.  Second photo show what it looks like when opening a new screen or an existing file.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

There's a preference to change the color of the screen.  I'm not at a computer right now that has PS, but you might want to try right clicking with the move tool and see is there is a menu option for changing the color.  Or check the main preferences ctrl/cmd-k.

  • Please Help Exporting PDF Portfolio and Black Background turns White

I am creating a PDF Portfolio in Adobe InDesign and I created a black background using the steps below. When I export the document into PDF form, the background turns to white.
I followed these steps to make my background black:
"Window>Color>Swatches to bring up the Swatches panel and double-click the Paper swatch. Change the Color Mode to RGB and move the Red, Green, and Blue sliders to 0 to change the swatch to Black. Click OK."
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You misunderstand what paper is for. Paper is quite simply the absense of ink or color.
By changing it, all you've done is show what something will look like printed on black paper. If you really want a black background you'll need to draw a frame, fill it with black and place it on the master page on it's own bottom layer. Lock the layer to prevent any problems.

  • My macbook screen turns blue

when on my macbook pro, the screen turns blue all of a sudden forcing me to do a hard restart. Does this happen to anyone and how can this be resolved?
    Thanks.
    Macbook Pro
    version 10.6.8

Ist do you have the latest security update for Snow Leopard installed?
How were you watching the movie?  Was it using Firefox?  If so, update to the latest Firefox 10.0.1.
I had the occassional blue screen problem when quiting applications.  It was due to automatic graphic card switching.  The latest Firefox now uses the HD 3000 graphic card so there is no switching to the AMD card.  I haven't had the problem since upgrading to Firefox 10.  I think Firefox may have left something in the background running even after you think you quit it that may have contributed to the problem.  Also, there have been reports that the Feb Snow Leopard security update version 1.1 may have corrected the problem.  I have the same computer as you have and I am running 10.6.8.  You would be smart to buy Applecare to extend your warranty for 2 more years.  If a graphic card is failing,  it costs $900- $1000 to fix if no warranty (new logic board).  After I updated everything, I started up in safe mode by holding down the shift key at startup and then restarting to re-build the startup cache.  So far so good, cross my fingers.
Next time the problem happens just close the screen and allow sleep, re-open and your screen should be back, hopefully.  Turning off graphic card switching under apple, system preferences, energy, uncheck box also prevents the problem but gives you shorter battery time.
If the few thing I mentioned don't work, time to bring your computer to the Apple Store

  • Changing White Background to Blue

I have about 200 pictures that have a white background that I need to change to blue. Normally I would use the wand, crop it with the pen or do a color selection. The only one that is working is the pen but it is taken way to long and was hoping someone would know on a better faster way to change the white background to blue and possibly even making it a action so it wouldn't take that long.
A sample image is at http://www.permacastonline.com/e9.jpg
If anyone can point me into a way I can do this easyily I would appreciate it.
    Thanks
    Chris

i'm afraid there's no easy way because of those metallic objects, they're too close to the color of the background.
Use the Magic Wand Tool with a low tolerance(don't go much higher than 10) and the Contiguous checkbox turned on. After you get a rough selection going, select the Quick Selection Tool to get the tougher parts and then select Refine Edge from the Options Bar to finish up the selection.

  • My macbook pro screen keeps turning blue?

This just started about ten minutes ago but its happened three times so I'm kind of concerned. My screen background on my Macbook Pro turned blue after I refreshed a Netflix page. None of my open windows shut down but the image I have as my background was gone and the light blue screen took its place. When I went back into my settings to put the picture back up, it showed that it was still set as my desktop screen, even though it clearly was not. I had to click on another image and then click back on the one I wanted to get it to reset. Is there any reason why this is happening? And can I fix it or do I have to take it in to the apple store and see if they can take a look at it?

    A few suggestions:
When troubleshooting, disconnect all devices from your computer.
Restart in Safe Mode:  Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode
Boot up from your install DVD and run "Repair Disk" from the Utility menu.
    Restart
After you reach your desktop, repair permissions and again restart your computer.  Directions are in the OS Help Menu if you need assistance.
You should call Apple tech support before your standard warranty runs out.  Hopefully, you have AppleCare.
Hey, thanks for your suggestions but when I tried the first part which was the run in safe mode it only made parts of it, specifically safari, lag even more to the point where I could not load pages without it lagging. For the second part about the repair disk, is that the same thing as re-booting your mac or is it different thing? Thanks again for your help!

I was having some problems with my mac, safari and itunes was freezing alot. I have to force shutdown and when I tried to start up again i get to the login page, type in my password and it starts to load, but then the screen turns blue for a few seconds and it goes back to the log in screen. What should I do?
    Please Help!!

    Somewhat similar problem:
Put in the password, hit enter, the screen goes blue for half a second, then goes back to login screen and carries on logging in as usual.  Drives me mad.  It doesn't happen with a fresh Lion installation, nor if booted into safe mode.  On the machine in question it also happens to new user accounts.
I've removed all login items, including Startup Items and Launch Demons (pun intended) and Agents, I've compared system login plists with a fresh Lion installation - can't see differences.  I've removed Little Snitch and PeerGuardian (no more third party kexts).
@Carolyn: I've done disk maintenance with DiskUtility and fsck and even DiskWarrior, cleaned caches, etc. etc.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Sorry for trying to hijack the thread (as it's not about Lion), but it seemed dead anyway.

Iv tryed this numerious times still keeps going back to pasword. Can not get any further. Tried restart holding shift key.. still nothing. What do i do?

    Thank you for your help.
I couldnt get to the hard drive/ desktop. Soft login not even working. So i could not do any of that.
In the end i took it to Apple and its actually the hard drive on its way out. A common issue with that series of Mac. Funny seeing i dont use this mac much. However being 2.5 years old and out of warrently, Apple have recognise this issue with this series/ Model and installing a new hard drive at no cost.
Very luck and greatful. And not feeling so dumb that it was something i did or could troubleshoot myself.
Hope this helps others that it just might be your hard drive failing.

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

pls help me how to reboot my macbook air,.. because starting it up was not successful. the screen just turns blue after the apple logo appeared.

i know loads of people who have had this problem including me.  The Java script update apparently had some virus that has overloaded the start up disk.   I took to apple who said i have to have the machine rebuilt but first i have to go to a data recovery company to get back everything that was on it.  Data recovery company have quoted me nearly £1000.

  • I tried to update my ipod 4th gen. but when I came to see how much charge the screen was red and it wasnt charged and i cant use my ipod. the screen turned blue also one time, and now the apple logo comes up and its bright then dim and it stays there help

I tried to update my iPod 4th generation while it was charging and when I came back to check on it the screen was red and it wouldnt go off, and my ipod wasnt charging like it was supposed to. I found out how to get the color of the screen off but my ipod always has the low battery thing and when I charge it sometimes the screen turns blue or the apple logo comes up bright and then it gets dim and stays there. My ipod wont turn on, and I really want it to work again. Help me please! Also, I noticed my ipod battery hasnt been lasting long as it should efore this happened.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • In Earthlink WebMail when inserting an email address or weblink, the text no longer turns blue and underlines, and I can't change font colors. IE Works.

Whenever I try to insert an email address or a link to a website, I no longer get the automatic hyperlink (turning blue and underlining). Also if I try to change the font color on some text it either doesn't change from black or it changes to a different color. (If I try to change to red, I get dark green; change to a bright green, I get dark red; change to blue or yellow, I get black).
I tried removing and reinstalling Firefox to no avail. Earthlink is clueless.
This all works properly using Internet Explorer.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
These features rely on JavaScript, and it sounds as though you have scripting enabled if you get (the wrong) color changes. Some add-ons might alter the way scripts operate, so a standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If those features work correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.
To also disable plugins, you can use this page:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins category
    Any change?

  • Is there a way to prevent an image from turning blue when selecting it?

I'm exported a pdf from InDesign that will be used as a brochure for one of the exhibitions at our museum. I'm wondering if there's any way to prevent an image from turning blue when a reader clicks on it. Since all of the images are works of art, I'd rather that they not change color when people click on them.
I changed the security settings so the images couldn't be copies, hoping that would prevent the blue square, but it didn't help.
    thanks for any suggestions.
    Chris

There are several ways to do that and here are but two of them.
    1. If you want to make a new image you can right click on the channel, click on Duplicate Channel and under Destination>Document, select New
    2. If you want to add a new layer to your document, click on the channel in the channels panel, go to Select>All, then Edit>Copy, click on RGB in the channels panel and then Edit>Paste
