Background updating of previews after sync settings are applied

Once you have a collection imported into the library window and then make a change to 'all' of the images via sync settings, the previews are only updated when you scroll down to display that set of images - and incredibly only when Lightroom has the focus.
This seems incomprehensible to me and incredibly irritating when you are working on global changes to a large batch of images.
I'm happy to go make a cuppa whilst the changes are made, but it does make sense that every thumbnail should be updated with the new settings in the background so I can then scroll through the complete collection with my changes having been applied. As it is, I have to page down, wait for the displayed thumbnails to be updated, and so on until I reach the end of the shoot. I can't even use another program as this seems to make lightroom pause until you return focus to it. Totally impractical when you are dealing with hundreds of images.
Have I missed a switch somewhere?
I'm using NEFs & PhaseOne tiffs on a WinXP Pro machine....and still using CaptureOne until this seemingly obvious requirement is dealt with....

There's a long story here, and a previous post from Mark Hamburg about it, but suffice it to say, this was done for speed and they would like to make this updating a little more intelligent in the future.

  • Sync Settings are Grayed out

I cannot sync my settings from my desktop to my laptop.
Prefs are grayed out and have no option to log-in to enable them.

The issue appears to be that you're not signed in to your Adobe ID. In the dialog box you posted, it says "Signed In As: Not Signed In"
Go to the Help menu and sign in with your Adobe ID.
Sync Settings only works to sync between two computers which are both signed into the same Adobe ID.

  • Testing after Oracle CPU are applied

    We have the following:
    RAC Databases

    Oracle 11g ASM
Oracle Database 11g EE with RAC
    Single Instance Databases
Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 update 2
    Oracle 11g ASM
Oracle Database 11g EE with RAC
The RAC Database is repository for Siebel Application data.
I will be applying Oracle Critical Patch to databases. What testing should be performed after application of CPU and by whom?

    1) I assume you have lower environments (i.e. dev, test, staging/QA in addition to production). I assume as well that you will be applying the patches to the lower environments before production and that you will, therefore, be doing most of your testing in lower environments.
    2) What to test and who to test depends on the organization and the application. I would, at a minimum, suggest running your automated test suite for each application against the database in each lower environment when patches are applied. Depending on the criticality of the application and the coverage your automated test suite provides, you may need additional testers (which may be part of a separate testing group, may be part of the development group, or may be business users) to manually validate whatever key business functions the applications provide.

  • ITunes music library will not update on iPod after syncing

I did a computer swipe a number of months ago and was only just recently able to recover my iTunes account.  So fortunately I have all my music still (well most of it.  Some of my file locations are missing but that is user error).
Now, yesterday I synced my iPod for the first time since the clean sweep.  I was annoyed that the process completely cleaned out my iPod (of course it was not backed up because I had no way of syncing it to my account) so I lost everything except the music.
Here's the problem:  while I can play iTunes on my laptop, none of the songs are being properly downloaded onto the iPod.  All the titles and information show up like they should, but they are greyed out so you cannot select them.
I've tried re-syncing several times and even rebooted my laptop and re-syncing to no avail.
My iPod is literally empty like when I first got it brand new but I can't play my music.
Any ideas?  I'm at my last straw.

Is the iPod signed in the iTunes account? (Settings>Store)
Next I would try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and then sync.

  • Sync settings are being ignored

I have Thunderbird set to sync only the last 3 months but it is ignoring that and syncing all messages for all dates, for the folders for each of my Gmail labels, although it is syncing the main Inbox for only 3 months.
How do I get it to stop syncing all those label folders?

    Thanks.
In case anyone at Mozilla reads this:
It is staggeringly confusing to have these various folder functions that are completely connected at every level located in two completely different, mutually inaccessible locations in the settings. I am a 'power user' who has taught myself GIS and advanced statistics software (SAS) and can say the folder management is far more confusing than it needs to be.
I've been casually looking around the settings for months trying to figure this out, assuming - incorrectly - that something so basic will be self-explanatory, i.e. under "Server" or "Synchronization" settings. I didn't make a focused effort because it was inconceivable it wouldn't be somewhere in there. People shouldn't have to dig around in forums and post questions about this.

I have an iPhone 5S.  I am on iOS 7.1.1.  After selecting the music from my itunes library and synced with my iPhone, some old songs still remain on my iPhone.  How do I remove those songs.  I want them to be in my library but not on my phone?

    Backup the device.

  • How do I Sync All 5,000 of my songs onto my iPod 5th Generation without no problems at all, Most of my songs have the Album Artworks, some are ACC converted but after the "Changes Are Applied", it will say - Songs were not synced. File wasn't convert

I Am having a problem with syncing 5,000+ songs onto my IPod 5th Generation. Everytime I sync, some songs will either go away or ALL of them will come off my iPod. I have iTunes 12 for Windows, and it has a slow syncing process and it will take days for songs to get on the iPod. It will even say that any of the songs "we're not synced to my iPod because the file wasn't converted..
I Need help please, I would appreciate it.

    Hey Bryce,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like some songs aren’t being synced to your iPod touch because they aren’t in a compatible format. Can you play those tracks in iTunes? Try selecting the tracks that won’t sync and creating a new version of them with iTunes as shown in the article below.

  • Why is it so chaotic to Sync Settings between apps of Adobe CC 2014? (and to transfer settings from CC to CC 2014)

Although, in general I'm a big fan of the Adobe Products and the CC Idea, I think that some parts of it were not ready for launch.
The part that mostly disturbs me is the settings syncing / Update. (Or "Seamless Update")
    Concerning the updates:
I had own workspace in all the CC Adobe Apps, the only CC 2014 App that imported the previous settings in the new app at the first start was Photoshop.
Indesign made it through the Edit => Migrate previous local settings
Illustrator by copying the settings files manually
in Dreamweaver and Flash I had to recreate the workspace manually (which finally took less time then trying  to sync settings.)
So long for the Seamless update that wasn't so seamless.
    Concerning the settings syncing
Why could'nt adobe have the settings syncing working the same way in all it's CC 2014 applications? ( File Menu on PC / The Name of the App Menu on Mac => Sync Settings, upload or download settigns; done!)
    Instead (on mac) :
In Photoshop: Photoshop => my account name => upload and download settings ( and no way to import settings from previous version )
In Illustrator: Illustrator => my account name => Sync Settings ( and I cannot import settings from the previous version, only from the same version )
in Indesign: Indesign => my account name => Sync Settings ( and the only CC 2014 App where the "Migrate previous local settings" function is working )
in Dreamweaver => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Flash => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Premiere Pro => my account name => Sync Settings with the possibility to clear settings and to use settings from a different account
Appart from that update and syncing chaos, the syncing between two computers simply doesn't seem to work ( at least for me).
I have a computer at work and a laptop at home and I'd like to have the same workspace in my apps at home as at work for occasional home working.
I created and configured my custom workspaces on the mac at work and then synced settings (respectively uploaded them in Photoshop). I had cleared all the saved settings from the Creative Cloud online account first.
I arrived at home, tried to sync settings but no workspace was implemented. (and before you ask, yes i had checked that the workspaces should be synced and that, on the laptop at home, the cloud settings should be applied.)
After few tryings I gave up and ended up recreating my setings on both machine. Frankly I don't know why the sync settings are for, since they just don't seem to work.
I really think you should rethink this feature: make it simpler, working THE SAME WAY in all Adobe apps, and, well, just working!
I'd just like to log into creative cloud an any computer, sync settings, and be able to use my custom created workspace.
I posted this in the Cloud Forum since, in my opinion, the settings syncing is a cloud matter and not a matter of each app individually.

  • Post ios 4.3 update, Missing Music, Cannot Sync 13019 Error

I have an iPod Touch 64G, running 4.3.1 the problem dates to the first ios 4.3 update) and iTunes 10.2.1 on a Windows 7 PC.
Ever since I updated my iPod to ios 4.3, I have been unable to access my music from my iPod. Once I plug in my iPod to one of my computers I can see my entire library in iTunes and can play songs from the computer (the songs are only on the iPod and not saved on that particular computer). As the song starts to play, my iPod attempts to synchronize, but then I get the 13019 error. When I look for the songs on my iPod, the screen says I have no music.
I have tried the language switch and music fixes listed here
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/11/24/fix-for-no-content-on-iphone-ipod-after-ios-4-2-1 -update/
as well as deleting my sole voice memo (another suggested fix in the forums) all to no avail.
The original sync'd computer (running XP) is temporarily out of commission until I replace a part. I have two other laptops (Windows 7 and Vista) which I'm using to access the music on my iPod. I would like to be able to access my music on my iPod without having to plug it in to a computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for replying. I have tried those techniques. I have deleted my voice memos . However because my sync settings are on manual I can't deselect the auto sync music option. I was able to sync my apps with this computer, but trying to sync Books leads to the same error.

  • HT1351 My I Pod is not showing the Podcasts I have downloaded on the library section in my itunes and also on the Ipod but is showing in the spome 3000 plus eposides in the sync section but will not show on Ipod or Library section even after syncing pleas

Is this a software failure ?

    I have sorted it myself!!

  • OneDrive Sync Settings with Domain Account Roaming Profile

This question seems to have been asked in various manners online including here at TechNet but it has never actually been answered that I can find.
Home domain using Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, client is Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with Update 1. Logged in as a domain user account with a Roaming Profile and Folder Redirection connected to a Microsoft Account.
Under PC Settings > OneDrive > Sync Settings, everything is greyed out and disabled. I wasn't too bothered about it previously however with Windows Phone 8.1 out now it means that I cannot use Tab Sync with Internet Explorer 11 on the phone.
I have a GPO which excludes the following folders from the Roaming Profile to both allow Folder Redirection to function and also to allow the OneDrive app to function: "Downloads;Pictures; My Pictures;Music; My Music;Videos; My Videos;Dropbox;SkyDrive;OneDrive"
I am using the Primary Computer attribute with a second GPO which limits profile redirection to the users primary computer.
When logging on to my Primary Computer with the Roaming Profile activated, all of the Sync Settings are disabled but on another machine which is non-primary and therefore my roaming profile does not sync, I can connect my Microsoft Account to the local
profile generated on this machine and all of the Sync Settings are available, clearly linked to the Roaming element of the profile.
Is the non-functionality of Sync Settings on domain accounts with Roaming Profiles by design or by virtue of the fact that things are trying to steer away from Roaming Profiles now? I love the Sync features but in that they don't sync everything (3rd party
Application Settings for example) there is a need for both features to exist in parallel.
There is a new section in Group Policy to limit the use of the Sync Settings features for Enterprises which wish to prevent users from using these features so I don't understand the reason for it to not function at all for anyone.

  • Sync Settings... Grayed out for Teams accounts?

I'm starting to deploy CC for Teams to 19 team members and have noticed on the first two that Sync Settings are grayed out in Illustrator. Both workstations so far are running OS X 10.6.8, as are 13 of 19 workstions soon to be upgraded to 10.8,  so the Adobe Creative Cloud application has not been installed. One workstation was a clean install after uninstalling CS5 and test installs of Illustrator and InDesign CC (to verify PKG files created locally), then some additional clean up using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to make sure I'd gotten everything; the other workstation has CS5 and CC apps installed side by side at the moment.
I have a personal CC account installed on an iMac running 10.7 and an Air running 10.8, and the Sync Settings options came up as soon as I launched Illustrator on the Air. No clean install needed, just uninstalled CS6 to save space on that laptop. I assumed this feature would be availble to CC for Teams accounts, am I correct on that assumption?
Any additional prefs or cache to purge?
    Thanks,
    Heath

  • "Print Settings" are not stored in the print preset

    Hi everybody,
It seems that, no matter how many times i save and update the profile, all the print setting (image size, sharpening, bit depth, color management, ...) are store within the preset, all but the Epson Driver settings, which have to be selected every single time.
I really can't remember if this bug was present in 4.0 or not (I'm currently running 4.1 RC), but I'm quite sure it was working OK under 3.x. Here's the thing.
I configure the printing settings and create. a profile: Profile1.
I change all the settings and create a second profile: Profile2. The "Print Settings" settings are different, same printer, one for Color (Profile1), one for Advanced B&W (Profile2).
I click on Profile1 (which was created with color Print Settings). Clicking on "Print Settings" or "Print", the printer settings selected under the epson driver is the ABW one (the one that belongs to Profile2).
I reselect the correct setting from "Print Settings..." (Color).
    Click "Save" again.
Righ-t click on Profile1 -> Update with current Settings. Setting seems to be saved.
I then click on Profile2 and bam! The "Print Settings..." seems to be rverted to color instead of ABW.
Update the correct settings, back to point #3
Can you reproduce this? This behavior is vanishig the power of the "Print One" button, unless you constantly print with tha same Driver settings.
    Lightroom version: 4.1 RC [820174]
    Version: 10.7 [3]
    Application architecture: x64
    Physical processor count: 4
    Processor speed: 2,4 GHz
    Built-in memory: 8192,0 MB
Real memory available to Lightroom: 8192,0 MB
Real memory used by Lightroom: 2388,3 MB (29,1%)
Virtual memory used by Lightroom: 4759,6 MB
    Memory cache size: 866,7 MB
    Displays: 1) 2560x1440, 2) 1680x1050
Epson R3000, latest OS X Epson Drivers.

I may have resolved the issue.
The bug is there, because the name of the preset is kept as the last used, which is wrong.
If you revert to the default "Default Settings" Epson preset, and change all the parameters as you like, then click Save and update the Lightroom preset, the settings are stored correctly.
You'll have to check every preset (I have two dozens) and re-update with the new correct (or wrong?) Driver configurations, so that you could have faith again in the "Print One" button.

  • Changing sync settings erases iPod contents

When I upgraded to iTunes 7 the following problem came with it:
    Choose my sync settings
    Click Apply
Wait for hours as my entire music library (50GB) syncs to my iPod.
Change a syn setting (for example, choose to just sync one playlist instead of all playlists)
    Click Apply
The contents of the iPod are wiped, and ONLY the stuff I changed gets synced across to it!!
This still happens with 7.0.1. Anyone know what the problem is?
It would seem that iTunes 7 is one of the worst pieces of software ever released by Apple. I also get the usual freezes that others get amongst other bugs. Given that I'm using an 80GB iPod & a Macbook Pro it would seem that their testing didn't extend very far!

Yes, this is a TERRIBLE problem! I have two computers: one is a laptop where I don't want lots of music cluttering the drive, and one is the desktop iMac which keeps my library. BUT some days I'm working only on my laptop, and want to download a podcast onto the iPod. Two problems:
    1. On first run, the default is to "Sync" everything, and there's no way to change the setting until the iPod is plugged in. (This problem is not new to iTunes 7, IIRC.)
    2. Apparently now "Sync" means sync, but "Not sync" means ERASE EVERYTHING -- not "hands off". When I plug into the laptop (with its essentials-only music library), I don't want to Sync my music library. But even LESS do I want to ERASE everything. What were the programmers thinking?
The second problem is an amplified problem of an earlier one: it used to be that if I unchecked a podcast or a *photo folder* from a list of otherwise auto-sync stuff, that kind of podcast (or folder of photos) would disappear. So, my solution was to turn off auto-sync altogether, and drag my laptop's new podcasts over one by one so as not to lose other podcasts. That was workable. But now, I can't make my iTunes handle things manually at all, apparently?
