Hallo Leute,
ich habe bei einer Aufnahme, wo eine weibliche Person sehr leise spricht, die Tonspur in PP sehr hochziehen müssen um die Person verstehen zu können. Leider wurde dadurch auch das Hintergrundrauschen sehr laut. Kann mir jemand beschreiben, wie ich in Soundbooth diese Hintergrundgeräusche eleminieren oder zumindestens absenken kann?
Gibt es ein Buch oder ähnliches womit man sich mit Soundbooth vertraut machen kann? Habe leider hierzu nichts gefunden!

Unfortunately, the background rushing thereby also was expressed very much. Can somebody describe to me, how can I lower these background noises in Soundbooth?
Does there present itself a book or with which one with Soundbooth trusted can make? If nothing has found, unfortunately, moreover!

It is interesting that Adobe does not. With Edit in Audition, one can go back and forth any number of times. Now, Undos are not saved, when one does the Save on each session. I've had the same Clip into Audition a dozen times, without issue - except for those Undos, but if I run against that, I just start over from the original Audio Stream.
Now, Jeff's suggestion, probably enhances things a lot more than I have with Audition.

Low memory caused by soundbooth

Hi,
I have been editing videos and audio on soundbooth. I have had to save files and re-open files in another program (as I can't break audio up within soundbooth).
The trouble is that the memory on my pc is being eaten up.
Does soundbooth create temporary files which can be deleted after using soundbooth, as it seems that it is only when working on soundbooth that my pc memory decreases in size? I know it is not the 'finished' files as I save these to an external memory.
For information.
My RAM size is 2GB
The total Memory I have is 37GB
I did have about 9GB remaining a while ago
On Monday morning I had 1GB by the evening I had 400MB
This morning after working on Soundbooth I only have 150MB left.
The pc I am using is a Dell Optiplex GX520 with a pentium 4 HT processor

I don't know if all the sticky posts migrated over from the old forum software, but it is imperative to regularly clean your cache within Soundbooth and Premiere Pro. In the Preferences, click Media > Clear Media Cache.
This will free up gigabytes of space - especially when working with video.
The Media Cache concept is a good idea - prevent repeatedly conforming the same file and share the cache from one application with the others. However, with no way to "expire" old data, the folder quickly fills up.

From Audacity to Soundbooth CS5 (aka improving speech)

Hello all,
I have been using Audacity for years and I needed to change because of a requirement to output FLV audio with cue points. Soundbooth appears to have this capability.
I have used Audacity to edit speech files and I consistantly applied the following procedures in order to enhance the speech:
1- Sample and apply noise removal
2- Apply Low Pass filter with:Rolloff 6db, q = 0.7, Cutoff = 5500 Hz
3- Apply Bass Boost with: Frequency = 200 Hz, Boost = 8 dB
As I mentioned, I am new to Soundbooth and I would like to know how to do the equivalent in Soundbooth. Additionally, if anyone has other suggestions on improving speech quality (I am aiming for Public Radio quality.. suitable for training audio). I am constrained with actual recording quality so I need to work as much 'magic' as possible in post production.... I have been relatively successful with those Audacity perimeters.
While experimenting with Soundbooth, I think I have found most of the equivalents but please confirm if these are best practices:
1-Noise Removal
   Select dead air section of recording, click Processes, select Capture Noise Print
   click Processes, select Reduce Noise, Use default settings (Use Captured Noise Print - checked)
2-Low pass and bass boost seem to be handled by EQ:Parametric (advanced)
   I am unsure if I like what the Male Voice Enhancer does (it seems to introduce artifacts to the audio)
Any suggestions or comments?
Finally, is there a way to automate these audio enhancements to quickly process the audio and move on the next of many wav files.

This does not work for me in Soundbooth CS4 and I am unable to test CS5.

Equalize Volume in Soundbooth CS4

I have a low volume 5.1 audio tracks in Soundbooth and the Equalize Volume Levels' function is grayed out everywhere (in the Process menu, the Task window and at the bottom of the Editor panel).
What do I need to do?

Click the Make louder in the edit menu. I'm not sure what you mean about the "process menu". I suggest using the search in the help menu...God Bless

Level out Audio clips to -6db without going into SoundBooth.

Hi,
I'm trying to level out Audio in my Premiere Pro CS 5.5 timeline.
Here's what I've done so far, and it sounds OK.
I laid my 12 minute on a timeline. I then went into Soundbooth from Premiere Pro. I wemt to Process ------ Hard Limit.
It brought up the levels a lttle bit.
I saved it, wemt back in Premiere Pro and clicked on my AudioTrack, I went to Audio Effects and raised the volume to 6 DB. It was still a little low so I added another volume effect from the Audio Effects folder onto the Audio Clip in the timeline. I then raised that up to 6DB as well. Now it sounds good.
The first time I did this I put the clip on the timeline, went into SoundBooth and put a Process ------ "Equalize Volume" on the clip.
I went back into Premiere and when I played it back, the levels were perfect, but the audio would go up and down when someone was not speaking. It was annoying.
So that's why I did the "Hard Limit" I described above.
Now my question:
Is there a way to level out all of my Audio to -6 without going into SoundBooth? I would like to do it only in Premiere if possible.
If not, How can I get the best possible sound that is level and does not go up and down when someone is not speaking?

Apply an effect in the MIxer ton the tracack that you want to contyrol.
You have t olook a little for the Effects Twirl down Triangle thingy. Adobe HIde this stuff a bit. ( Check the Manual).
Next . It s perfectly normal to "ride" the levels of any audio. ( Music,FX and Voice). Do it in the MIxer.THe MIxer in PPRO is morte powerful than many realise
.BTW - Sound Booth is a dog - compared to Audition or ProTools or even Premiere (for most people)

Recorded too low...Remove hiss from audio?

I'm a noob at Soundbooth and I'm hoping it will help resolve a problem. I shot a video and I think the audio (voice recording) is too low. While editing in Premiere I pulled the audio up in volume and it sounded acceptable... but when burned to DVD there is a hiss. Is there anything I can do with Soundbooth to fix the volume and eliminate the hiss. The simpler the explaination the better. Thanks!

re 1 & 3- there's a description of how to do this in the STP manual. Just look under the help section and it'll be there. Just read it this weekend and got it to work for me and believe me, I'm not the shapest knife in the drawer. One bit of advice, make an extra sequence before you export to STP so you don't mess up your original audio.
Regarding how to remove the hiss, unfortunately it's not a one size fits all. Jay Rose wrote an article entitle "Shh- the silent art of noise reduction" or something close to that. Definitely try to find that article if you can at DV.com You can always try a low cut or shelf. Start at 130 Hz Male to 200 Hz female and back off if it cuts too off (makes it sound too thin). There's supposed to be a way to compensate for this by doing an eq bump 3 x the frequency you cut or something like that. You can also cut or shelve frequecies above 12000 Hz. Then there's using a downward expander, but that's a little tricky with what STP comes with stock imo. Expanders are better for film/video than noise gates as they are much less abrupt. I would use noise reduction as my last resort and almost never use it at all. A lot of these filters can be applied in FCP.
Honestly, if you ask at the DV.com audio forum I'm sure they'll give you the advice you need. Jay Rose did write a book on post production audio that you might be interested in as well. Pretty much all of what I'm trying to tell you comes from it or that aricles. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost that book.

Increasing low db's and decreasing high db's

I do a lot of theatre production videos and I use Premier CS4 and Soundbooth to edit the video and audio. In theatre recordings, the audio is always up and down like a yoyo. I'm having to spend a trmendous amount of time editing the audio to get a proper audio track. What I really would like to do is to have a way to select all the audio that is below a certain db range and increase their values and then to be able to select everything above a certain db level and then decrease this level. Right now I have been using Normalize to reduce the high peaks, but this also reduces the low db levels. Equalize introduce to much unwanted pops and hiss. Seems like what I want to do should be fairly simple to do but I can't seem to figure out a work around. Thanks for any help.

There are a few tools you can use to accomplish this work, each with their benefits and drawbacks.
The first would be the "Louder" button, located second from the right in the button group below the waveform. Press it once and it performs a Normalize action, which amplifies or reduces the gain on the entire file so that the loudest peak is just below the clipping level. Additional clicks perform an amplify with a hard limiter so that the everything gets louder, without actually clipping. This tool can work well for files that are generally the same level throughout, but not quite, but doesn't offer any control over the values.
The next tool I'd recommend which offers a lot more control, but has a lot more parameters, would be the Effects > Advanced > Dynamics (Advanced) effect. For what you describe, a preset like "Multi Expansion" might suffice, but you can always open the effect settings and adjust the values to more accurately match your needs.
Equalize volume should also work, but as you mention, you might need to run the file through the "Clicks & Pops" and Noise reduction tasks afterward.
If you have access to Adobe Audition, the "Dynamics Processing" effect is even more powerful. You can specify which level you would like each dB range boosted or reduced by adjusting a curve.

How do I turn off and on the icon size slider bar at the lower right status bar of a folder window.

I have been trying for days to help a friend with a new iMac to turn on the icon size slider bar that on my iMac appears at the bottom of ever folder when it is open when in the "view" > "icon" mode. I cannot find anything that discusses this slider bar. I can turn this status bar off and on on both my machine and my friends machine, but I cannot turn off or on the slider on either machine.

This did not help. I am a Mac User since 1984 and generally I am never stymied buy the Mac OS, but this one has me. I can open and close the lower status bar, as you described, and that works fine for me because I have the icon slider bar already there and it works fine; however when I open the lower status bar on my friends machine there is no icon size slider bar, and I can't seem to find out how to get it there, as it is on my machine or at all. The icon size can be controlled from the View menu, but as a photographer, it is really handy to have it at the bottom of the folder window. Thanks for trying.

Low memory performance

When doing any memory performance tests on my new to me T61, Windows 7, 64bit, 4GB's memory machine, I have very slow performance results compared to any other known similar configurations.
2 well known sites I've tested at are http://browse.geekbench.ca/ and http://www.pcpitstop.com/ (Yeah, I know, most people think that site stinks)
I had 32bit Windows 7 on here with 3GB's memory and scored low with that OS also. Thought I'd give 64bit Windows a shot. Absolutely no difference what so ever!
When testing at pcpitstop, the ONLY score that is even close to being respectable is the video (Nvidia card).
Is this laptop really as bad as those scores indicate? It doesn't really seem to be running to bad, although it doesn't "feel" as fast or score as high as my Toshiba Satellite A135 with only 2GB's memory and a 1.6ghz single core proessor.
Any have any tips for getting this thing to crank like I "think" it should?

T500 performance loss and restart issue after low battery shutdown

Hi,
Some days ago I experienced a significant loss in performance of my T500. Unfortunately it seems to be a continuous loss and the games I play, e.g. empire total war that did run ok before are nearly unplayable at the moment.
Additionally, when the computer shuts down due to low battery, it no longer manages to resume windows but always crashs during reboot (black screen and hard disk symbol is moving, no other activity for 10 minutes)
I am working with the standard vista installation and installed all automatic updates, but also every time when I shutdown the computer, no matter how long it has been running (even after 1 minute and after a rebooting 3 minutes ago), the red shutdown symbol in start shows that an update needs to be installed.
any ideas?

Well, the problem, seem's to have reoccured: Battery ran out (even the indicator leds on the side didn't show any life), Time reset to 1.1.2001, again some rebooting and setting the time again...
Is this a sign of a degrading battery health status?
It looks like reseting the SMC didn't help after all.

Error while transporting function grp from lower version to higher version

Dear Experts,
While transporting the function group and function modules from system A to system B, I am getting the below error
"Program SAPLZATSCSNG_EINB, Include LEINBF10: Syntax error in line 000068
Field 'GF_ETS_MODIFIED' is unknown. It is neitherin one of the specified tables nor defined by a 'D"
System A is a lower version SAP system and system B is a higher version. I compared the code of Include LEINBF10 in both the systems and there is a data declaration of field GF_ETS_MODIFIED in system B. But this is missing in system A.
Please guide me for this issue.

Actually I am transporting the function group and modules from my development system to the client development system.
I dont have any other option but transport the files.
Is there any possibility to modify the include without applying a patch or upgrading my system?

IPad 3G no longer detected by iTunes (Win Vista), only charging when battery V. Low

This appears to be a software issue: my iPad 3G (32GB) is not detected by iTunes (yet my iPhone is), nor by Windows Vista. Furthermore, it does not charge from the wall charger until it shuts down in low battery, and only charges to 2%, after which it switches on again. Tried switching off and charging, which only causes it to switch back on again. Also tried cold resetting, but problem persists. Was working fine previously, no updates, additions or subtractions were made to either PC OS, iPad or iTunes immediately before problem started... and there doesn't seem to be any mention of this on the internets (including this forum). Any suggestions?

Soft boot, hold down top button and middle bottom button at the same time, with the iPhone connected to your computer and iTunes will recognize the phone on reboot.

My address book and iPhone pics have become low resolution. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening when I start out with a higher resolution picture?

I guess I squeezed my entire issue into the subject line. lol When I sync my iphone to my laptop I notice that all my address book pics and iphone pics have become lower resolution, even though I started out with the resolution that I really needed to produce decenty address book printouts. I doubt I can correct the losses of resolution that have occurred but can anyone help me figure out how to prevent future losses? Thank you!

Plugins usually are installed externally to Firefox. However, you can disable them in Firefox so that Firefox does not use them.
SearchReset is supposed to automate the task of resetting certain preferences, but you still can edit them manually if necessary.

Usually it works to choose your preferred search engine from the drop-down. To remove an unwanted search engine plugin, usually the Manage Search Engines... choice at the bottom of the drop-down takes care of it.
Do either of those work?
There might be another way to hijack that search box; I think some of the other frequent responders probably are more familiar with it than I am.

E540 Low camera/video image quality in Win 8.1

Hi just bought this laptop.
the webcam resolution is very low. The picture looks like one the first ever webcams. Its bad.
How do i change it ?
I've tried going into the windows and lenovo settings, there is nothing to alter the actual resolution.
It has the latest Lenovo driver and everything is up to date.
I've looked at other posts on here and none of them relate to the simplified program on the E540
