"Backing Up" after sync stalls
Recently I have had trouble at the end of my iPhone Sync with the "Backing up KMW's iPhone. It starts the backup (about 1/3 of the line fills in" then it just stops.
Any ideas on why or how I can correct it?

Well - I took the plunge (again) and unsynched all my apps in iTunes and guess what - my back-up time went from 8+ hours (with no successful back up at the end of that time frame) to only about 2 minutes.
From why I can tell this is the only way to resolve the issues for people that have extremely long synch times.
I have a feeling that there is one or two applications that causes this issue - it has happened twice to me now. I was finally able to get a successful synch completed in preparation for my new iphone this friday.
I did loose some data in my applications - but I really had no choice. If you are one of the people suffering from a ridicuously long synch time - you problaby need to uncheck the 'synch all applications' check box in itunes and start fresh.

The ringtones purchased on iTunes simply disappeared from the iPhone 4S, were visible for a while on iTunes on the iMac, when the iPhone was connected but greyed out, I can't see it anymore though. I've tried to download it again from iTunes on the iPhone, but it only tells me "this item has been purchased before, would you like to buy it again?". Of course I don't want to pay twice something I've already paid for. Any idea how to get this fixed so I can use those ringtones again? Thanks in advance!
Uncheck them in the iTunes > Tones sync settings and sync, then check them again and sync.

After syncing my phone my emails all showed up as unread. Even after reading them again! I still get the # of total emails in the red oval beside the envelope app picture. It used to only show the number of NEW emails. How do I get it to go back to that?? HELP!
Is there a setting in about:config that controls the length of the alltabs list? I would look for such a thing, and change the setting if it is there. A setting of -1 should make it limitless.

How can I sync my iPad to a computer after syncing it to the iCloud? I have the option of setting it up new, or restoring to a sync from many months ago. I dont want to lose any apps but I would like to back up on computer. No auto sync like other devices.
Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

i got a new computer and synced my iphone with it for the first time, i didnt realize the box for erase photos after synce was checked and my photos got erased off my iphone. i got the photos onto my iphone again by going into itunes clicked on the button to go into sync settings for the iphone on the top bar from there i clicked photos and picked the folder with the photos i just synced. i was hoping there was a way to move my photos back into caemra roll. right now i have 4 albums. camera roll, photo library, an album i titled, the album of photos synced with onto my phone that had the pictures that got deleted. the photo library and the photos synced albulm have the same thing in them

After syncing my iphone to my itunes on my pc, all the music on my phone is gone. I don't have a backup. Is there any way I can get them back?

I recently synced some old photos onto my ipod touch and they briefly appeared on google maps in geographical/time date order. Couldnt bring it back up after Id logged out. id like to be able to do it again, any suggestions?

How do I get my apps back after sync to MBP, Upgrade to iOS5?
After Sync'ing my iPhone 4 to MBP, I upgraded to iOS5 on the iPhone and Lion on the MBP. Now, my icons for iPhone apps are on the MBP. I don't see how to get them back to the iPhone. The former "Apply" button has disappeared. What is the new procedure?
Two things that I did wrong:
1) I was in iTunes, clicked on the left navigation bar for Apps and expected to see something like "Apply". This was incorrect. I needed to click on my iPhone under Device in the Left Nav bar, and then, click on Apps in the top nav listing. Then I could see my apps. And,
2) I could see that my apps had actually sync'd but they inexplicably sinc'd to a 3rd/4th/and 5th screen leaving the second screen nearly empty, so I thought they had never sync'd at all.

I updated my iPod Touch to 6.0.1. -- after much prompting from iTunes. Now my music is GONE (along with apps, photos and podcasts). After syncing a bunch of times some of it came back, but not all of it. How odd is that? How can I get my music back?? I'm really bummed! Everything shows in iTunes, but it's not synching right. So glad I updated. NOT.
Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup. -

Try this ..
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to: Notes
Then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

I have used my force9 emails for a few years with now problem on my laptop and also for maybee 6 months on my iphone4s but after syncing with itunes on my laptop i have lost all the emails & email setting of my phone.
I also back up on icloud and tried looking on there on my laptop but there is only my icloud emails and not my pop3 force9 emails . There are all my contacts there butwhy does it wipe my emails and settings and how can i get them back.

I cannot get apps I purchased now sitting on my pc onto my iphone. They were there before I upgraded to 6.0.1. I backed them up on my pc and I can see the apps are all there. But after syncing they still don't appear on my phone.
You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

After sync my music disappeared. Now I cannot get music back on phone. I selected playlists and triedeven loading allmusic.I have one song on my phone and cannot load any music back on it. Is there a setting I may have selected that needs to be changed???
Okay. I hope I can remeber all my steps exactly because I fixed my own problem...with absolutely no help from Apple. I opened itunes. I connected my ipod touch to my computer. On my itunes page that shows my songs in the upper right side under the search library box there is an itunes button and since I am connected there is an ipod button. DO NOT CLICK THE ARROW in the ipod button...just click in the mail part of the button. On mine it opened to a summary page that gave info on my ipod. The menu bar has Summary, Apps, Tones, Music and more. I clicked on the Music button. I chose to Sync the entire music library. That replaced what was on my ipod but what was on there was going to be put back on so I was okay with it. I then clicked the Sync button on the lower right side and it sync'd and all my songs are on my ipod again. I hope this might help someone else. Good luck.

Contacts completely cleared after Sync, how to get it back?
Is there a way to get back your contacts after accidentally deleting the contact files from Windows Contacts.
The iPhone contacts have been wiped clean after syncing today, is there any way I can retrieve the last backup where the contacts are still in place, even though the Windows contacts are completely gone?
This is a question my parent has asked me to post because he thought that the iPhone will save the contacts on its own without having to rely on external programs like Windows Phonebook.
I'm hoping you guys will have a miracle solution as he will need to fill in hundreds or thousands of contacts all over again
