Backing up albums downloaded directly from Itunes App on Ipod Touch

My iPod touch is being sent for repair/replacement but i've bought a lot of content from the iTunes App on the iPod itself as i don't have my own PC or Mac. Is there any way I can keep the stuff I've paid for if they give me a new iPod? I.e. back it up somehow or maybe they can transfer all data to new one?

Welcome to the discussion forums, Mike.
I perceive that you do not use iTunes. If you use iTunes, it will back up your content. But, there are free or inexpensive 3rd party software tha will allow you to pull everything off your iPod onto a computer. Searching in this forum will turn up many hits such as

  • No audio/visual on TV show downloaded from iTunes app on iPod touch

I downloaded a $3.99 Avatar TV episode from the iTunes app on my 2nd gen iPod touch, and it seemed to go smoothly until I tried playing the episode. It appears to be playing but all I see is black and there is no audio. I restarted my iPod twice; still, same problem. I can't re-download it without paying again. I have downloaded other Avatar TV episodes the same way before, and they were fine. What went wrong with this one?

As you connect the ipod touch to the computer, go to the ipod touch options (in devices), uncheck the manually manage.

  • How do I get downloaded games from itunes to my ipod touch?

I downloaded a few games for a trip I'm going on. I've looked through the manual, and I have tried, but I don't know how to get the games on my ipod touch?

They need to be downloaded from the App Store, and the iPod touch needs to be running version 2 or higher of the firmware.

  • How do I stop already viewed and deleted tv show episodes from downloading again from Itunes to my IPod Touch 4?

I have an Ipod Touch 4 with ICloud. I have 2 season passes for TV shows. I always download these episodes manually, on WiFi, watch them and immediately delete them. I find that sometimes Itunes will continuously ask for my password (which is not needed) and if put it in all of a sudden I now have close to 20 episodes that I've already seen waiting to download again. In order to get rid of them all I usually have to allow them to completely download then delete each one of them again. I am getting sick of doing this. Does anyone know what to do about this? It is annoying and time consuming.

It sounds like you may have hidden it, in which case you should be able to unhide it : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases. (You can't turn off the hiding of items.)
But you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your downloads and not relying on being able to redownload them - any item could be removed from the store by the rights-holders at any time, if they do then you won't be able to redownload them (nor will be able to do redownload items if you move countries).

  • When i go to download something from itunes on my iPod touch it says "Your apple ID has been disabled"

I had to call itunes bc my account had got hacked and they got that fixed and my account works i can sign in and sign out but when i go to download something or update an app on my ipod it comes up that my apple ID has been disabled. Does anyone know how to fix this? If not who i can get ahold of on the weekends.

There is NO PHONE NUMBER for itunes support.  You cannot call them.
You contact them through the link under "Contact Us", when you click on "Support" at the top of this page.
Try changing your password.  If this fails, then contact itunes support.

  • Some songs i downloaded directly from itunes won't convert and transfer to my ipod

I convert everything I download to AAC, so the files are smaller and can fit more on my iPod.  However, some things I recently downloaded directly from iTunes wouldn't convert and transfer to my iPod, even though they're in my library.  I tried downloading the newest version of iTunes, restoring my iPod, and manually converting the files.  Attempting to manually convert the files just gives me an unkown error message.

Read the solutions in this thread - converting songs downloaded from iTunes Music Store and "converting" music information in the user manual - iPod Manuals

  • Can I download  video from iPhone 4s to iPod touch 2

can I download  video from iPhone 4s to iPod touch 2?

This what I've tried so far:
Downloaded photos from the iPhone to the computer.  Videos and photos transferred without problem.
Plugged in the iPod Touch (2) and all photos synced just fine, but no video appeared.
While the iPod was connected I looked In the menu bar of iPhoto, when I chose movies, none were listed.
I cannot find an item listed in the settings menues that seem relevant.
I have emailed the movies successfully from the iPhone 4s.

I can't sync tv shows from iTunes to my iPod Touch (4th gen).  I can't purchase tv shows on the iPod, either.  Anyone know what the problem is?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Are you sure your computer is authorized for this? This is probably your issue.
If you go to the "Advanced" tab on the top in iTunes, is there a "Deauthorize computer..." button or an "Authorize computer..." button? If there's an "authorize computer" link, then that is your issue. Authorize your computer, and you should be able to transfer iTMS purchased songs from iTunes to iPod.
For details, see this Apple article:
    About iTMS authorization and deauthorization
    I hope this helps you,

  • Can't download anything from iTunes/App store

For the past week, everytime I try to download anything from the App store or iTunes I get a message saying "Unable to Download App" then it says "name of app/song trying to download" could not be downloaded at this time.  Done or Retry.
I have logged out of iCloud, iTunes and my AppleiD and nothing has worked.  I went online on my Mac and updated my credit card (which was not out of date) and tried to buy a sont on my Mac...purchased, but could not be downloaded.  All my devices are having the same problem.  In the Error details on my Mac it says to check the Internet connection and try again.  My wifi is working fine on my mac and iPhone.
    Any suggestions?
iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1, since last iOSupdate was installed

    I found a solution, and it's horrible.
    1. Back up your data. I used iCloud, but I also made a restore file through itunes, though you CAN'T USE THAT RESTORE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. It will just install the problem anew! Delightful!.
And then,  basically do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 which translates to:
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Erase all data
    3. Set up your iPad as a new ipad - if you choose to restore from an old restore file, you'll just reinstall the original problem.
    4. Connect to iCloud to reclaim your iCloud stuffs.
    5. Spend the next hour annoyed and frustrated as you restore your music, photos, apps, etc... to what you think you had them.
But miraculously, this let our ipad download apps again.
Again, restoring from a backup will not fix the problem.
All this speaks to some issue that requires the drive on the ipad to be reformatted with new permissions, or something, which is pretty **** annoying. Waiting to see the problem re-appear after it's finished syncing my music. Hurray!

  • HT2188 all of my music on my iphone does not play, not even if i've downloaded directly from itunes

My iphone has never played any music. It is there, but does not play.
It is on itunes and plays on the computer.
I have even downloaded music from Itunes directly on my phone, still doesn't play.
I have restored this phone at least 3 times and that has not helped.
    any other suggestions?

You need to authorize the new computer that youre working with. First hover over the store button at the top of the screen and then select the authorize this computer button then a popup will appear where you have to put in your Apple ID and Password. Hopefully this works for you

Hi Jen.  My daughter just compleated her nursing program and is now working as a full time nurse.  Focus and study hard and soon you will be there too.  Now to the problem at hand.  I have the same problem.  I gave up on it and satisfied myself with my iPod without the upgrade.  Reason being I've read so many posts of people having problems after the upgrade.  But I'm sure other factors are involved.  Nevertheless here is the fix most say works to solve the problem:  What ever virus protection you have installed on your computer, disable it.  Then try to install the update. After that enable the protection. I had Kaspersky, and it does it's job well. The thinking is, the virus protection is blocking the upgrade.  Hope this works.   Charlie
