Backing up and removing
Hi, I just got aperture 2 and still dont have a decent back up plan. Here is the thing: I import directly from the camera choosing as import destination a remote hard disk not to fill my comsputer hd space. If I'm not wrong on my laptop hard drive I store only previews of my RAW files right? Still, the aperture library is getting bigger and bigger (not as the remote disk space naturally) but what is the best way to keep an organized photo library? Should I import, make regulations, export as TIFF my versions to the same folder where the RAW files stay, then delete the project? Deleting a project does not delete referenced files right?
Should I then keep previews only of the best shots I might like to show to clients with my laptop?
Sorry to bother but I don't have it really figured it out yet.
One more question: is there a way to export images directly to a DVD...meaning is there a way to burn a project on a CD or DVD directly from aperture?

I don't really have an answer for your first question, as I keep all of my images on my desktop's internal drive. And then update 3 vaults on a second internal drive, an external FireWire drive and a ReadyNAS.
But since all of these bits are basically stored in the same room of the same house, I also use BurnToDisc (http://www.blueroomsoftware.com/BurnToDisc/) for burning DVDs which get sent to a safety deposit box and another out-of-state location. This is my suggestion for your last question.
With all of these steps, I have a number of backup restoration and disaster recovery pathways in case of data loss.

I am new to this capability. My problem is that my time capsule is not allowing a back up and indicates, The Back up 'is already in use' yet I have made no changes since I set the system up and now I am seeing this failure. Thoughts?

I was hoping for a hotkey option or button on the toolbar to load images for a single page for a single session at a time. Turning off images really saves bandwidth and speeds load time on websites, but sometimes I'd like to view the images on a page, but only for this session. Is that possible, or do I have to go to the Exceptions page and allow a specific domain or page to load images and then go back and remove that domain or page when I'm done?

how do you remove back up data from the memory storage? my storage data states that i have over 80gb of data used for back ups and i dont know why as i use a external hard drive as a time machine .now my 250gb flash storage is nearly full.. HELP!
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

My ipod nano was synced by itunes and removed all of my music and game files, and replaced my music with my kids music that they have put into the current itunes library. My music is nowhere to be found on my computer, so now I am in the long, forever process of adding my music back one cd at a time, but there is no history of tetris that I paid for from the itunes store. How can I get this game back for my ipod?

Need to Add and Remove Columns of ADF Read Only table from Backing bean
I have a scenario where I am trying to Populate TransientVO which is shown has a ADF Read Only Table in page.
I have couple of Check Boxes Based on their selection I am trying to render and hide certain Columns.
But the Issue which I am facing is only the Column Header seems to change where as the Rows and Values doesnt..
even If I apply the expression language rendering condition on the outputText inside those columns.. ..
So I am thinking to add and remove VO Attribute columns to the table from backing bean.
Need some sample code snippet or a better design to achieve this. Its kind of urgent too...having an aggressive deadline :(

If I back up iMovie projects to an external drive does imovie take the media with it? I want to free up space and remove pictures that were in iPhoto...that were used as media by iMovie when project was under way. In short I want archive iMovie stuff. If I pull pics out of iPhoto, and later want to drag an archived projet bac into iMovie and the pics are no longer in iPhoto, will I be able to keep working in the project in iMovie?
Very likely not, as the iPhoto's can be used for something else.
More like it took a copy, or it's referencing that spot on the drive in the editable files and most likely made a copy to create a new permanent export file.
Sample one picture and a iMovie file and see what happens. -
I added a persona, wanted a new one so disabled and removed the old one. I added a new persona, but the old one keeps coming back. Going into tools/add ons does no good because it is not even listed anymore but keeps coming back. I've shut down/restarted, I've searched for answers to this problem.
The data that specifies which persona to display is stored as a pref in the prefs.js file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Did you try to rename or move the prefs.js file and a possible user.js file to see if that helps?
Are you using the Personas Plus extension, because in that case you need to check the settings in that extension.

I have an image that I removed from its back ground and I would like to scale the bottom portion of the image because its to wide but not have that effect the top portion of the image which is the correct width. but also keep the aspect ratio correct, keep it looking as natural as possible (its a piece of jewlery) ? how can I begin to do this.
The area circled in red is to wide (the width) the necklace's width is as wide as the models entire chest. And also the length of the necklace it's to long it should come down to the clevage area on the model/woman.

Since 8th May , after updating the iphone software to 5.1.1 I am not able to synchronize my iPhone with iTunes. Have tried removing previous back up datas , removed all photos and videos on iPhone , switched on and of and reset iPhone a million times , restarted my Mac a thousand times Please Help !!!
I have tried both options .. back up on this computer and also back up on icloud.
The backingup is fine .. there is no problem .. even synchronizing songs , applications , calender , mail accounts is fine .. only the contacs are not synchronizing. The itune goes on and on .. showing synchronizing contacs .. but nothing happens. When i uncheck contacts synchronisation .. everything works fine . I have also reorganized my address book . but it does not help -

That's because app content is stored in the iPhone backup, not the app. What you should have done, is first restore from backup, then sync your iTunes content...the app in question...back to your phone. That would have restored the app data. However, if you've synced, since restoring the app to your phone, the app data is gone.

I bought a license for Lr a few years back and installed it on a mac laptop. I want to move that license to my new iMac and remove it from my old laptop. How?
I downloaded Lr on the new iMac but there does not seem to be a way of "registering" the software to give it functionality.

How do I get Time Machine back on my dock? I made a mistake and removed it from dock, somehow ended up in trash, what do I do?
Uh…you're saying two entirely different things here. If you removed Time Machine from the Dock, it could not be in the Trash. But if you removed it from your Applications or Utilities folder and put it in the Trash, that's a problem.

ITunes Match is putting back deleted tracks and playlists and removing ratings...?
I've had to turn off the service for the time being since it's doing more wrong than right.
Firstly, it tends to turn itself off when it wants (perhaps when I restart my MacBook, I'm not entirely sure but I think that's when it does it). Then, when turned back on, it puts back deleted playlists and albums that I then have to delete again - I got rid for a reason, I don't want them put back automatically!
I've recently began to rate my songs, too, and when turned back on, it removes MOST of these ratings. Not all, which, in a way, is even more frustrating because it seems to be picking and choosing.
How can I resolve these issues or is the service really this bad? I only use it for my iPad and, even then, I hardly use it so it's no big loss, but it is nice to know my music library is backed up and that I can use it on various devices.For pink iTunes - try setting 32 bit colour quality.

HI there all, have got a 2 year old macbook pro that just recently wont start up. Even if I know the battery is fully charged. What I have to do is remove the battery, wait a minute or so, insert back in and it will fire up. Any ideas?
