Backing up ipod, updating it & then i had nothing because it got unplug =[

my iPod touch needed and update, so i transfered all my purchased songs to my itunes, and i backed up my ipod. then i updated it. well, it got unpluged by mistake and itunes poped up a message that said his restore so i did, and then it set everything back to factory settings =(. I click restor i pod from files backed up "Amanda's iPod" and it put on one app, accually a bookmark that i had saved of safari to the homepage. now i have no idea how to get all my apps back and my music because not all my music was on one computer. I'm very frustraited because iv spet well over $100 all all my music and apps. And i use my iPod daily. can anyone help? thanks.=]

Sadly, that's a little over my head Sorry. The only way I know of are risky programs and such. Hopefully someone else can answer that question for you. Good luck!

Itunes ipod updates download then itunes states no updates

i get notices of app updates on itunes - and prefer to do them from there as i have a faster connection to download them. the updates download fine.. than after the download is complete - before the install - the screen displays a message
<my email> has no updates available pls check... for updates.. (sorry lost the whole message) - and it cancels the updates.
I log in w/ my login (which is a mac.com account thats inactive but was assured by apple that the email is only being used as my user id - and that my proper email (the one in the message) is being used for contacts/ invoices etc (and i do get the invoices to proper email).
i am completely confused -- i have no idea how to get it to do the updates.... if i go back to the apps section it now shows no updates available...
any ideas? the issue pre dates the latest itunes update and pre dates the latest ios update.

Check your sync settings to make sure you are syncing all songs in your library, and not just certain playlists.
You might also double-check that all of the songs are in a format that is compatible with iPods (probably MP3 or AAC).

Ipod updates songs, then ejects itself.

After automatically updating songs, my iPod ejects itself while still hooked up via USB. It's also listed in my iTunes after it ejects itself. Any ideas what's up? I also just replaced the hard drive with a Toshiba replacement and it's working well.

Only when you have "disk use" enabled for the iPod. Otherwise, as Bryan said, it auto ejects after song transfer has finished.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How can I undo the last firefox update? I've had nothing but problems since!

Ever since I updated to firefox 3.6.10 firefox keeps freezing on me as well as doing all kinds of weird things making it just about impossible to browse or post on the web. So how do I get back to the older version???

Latest security update and then ... nothing

Hi,
There's been a security update waiting to be downloaded for a few days now. Today, I finally installed it. The Mini asked me to accept a reboot, which I did. That was an hour ago. As I write, the Mac has a black screen with dmesg like contents.

Something has gone wrong.
It sounds like you may be in Single User Mode. Is there a prompt on the screen where you can type?
If so type fsck -fyremember to leave a blank space before the "-fy".
This will run a file system check, like Repair Disk and repair any problems if it can. If you run into errors run fsck multiple times until it reports OK.Then, type rebootreboot to restart to OS X.
If that's not the case, then a hard shutdown would be your only recourse.

Ipod updates and im on a different comp

i plugged the ipod into the computer and then there was an update for the software on the ipod. i let the software on the ipod update and then it took all of the songs off of the ipod to make way for the new software. now the songs that i had on the ipod were on a different computer and that computer is not working anymore and i wasnt able to transfer the music to the new computer. can anyone help me figure this out. thank you for your time.

If you installed the new software on your iPod, that (as I believe it warns you) erases everything on your iPod. Once that's done the iPod is blank; no recovery of content is possible. If you can't get the tracks off of your old computer by any means, then you're stuck and will have to reimport your CDs and restore any purchased content from your backups (you did make backups of your iTunes purchases, I hope).
But did the hard drive in the old computer fail? If not you should be able to remove the hard drive, mount it in an external case, and connect it to your new computer. You should then be able get the tracks into iTunes and then onto your iPod.

Stuck in "backing up ipod"

Each time I go to sync my iPod Touch, it begins to sync and then switches to "backing up iPod". I've never had this occur before this month when I installed a new wireless router (not that I think that should have had any impact). I cannot find any info on the site re:"backing up iPod". Each time I have allowed it to run for many hours (as many as 6) before giving up and disconnecting. When I disconnect, the newest addtions to my library are not uploaded to my iPod. Any ideas?

Hello!
I have a proxy-only connection. Does this mean that I won't be able to get the iPod updates? iTunes 7.02 cheerfully reports that there is an iPod update, but then it is unable to download it.
I am NOT ABLE to connect without a proxy.....

The facts are:
1) I browse whatever sites including the iTunes store
2) Apple software update works perfectly
3) I can even listen to the iTunes radiostations and use Skype voice calls
but, still, when trying to update the iPod, it says "...you are not connected to the Internet..."!!?

Latest ipod updater just freezes

I've got the latest ipod updater here and I've been trying to get my ipod updated because one day it just decided to stop working in itunes for some reason, and the updater freezes whenever it loads. It was getting the "ipod service error" thing before, but I reinstalled and now I've upgraded to just freezing. For a minute the first time I loaded it up it showed a list of ipods on the screen and looked like it wanted me to pick one, but it froze on that screen too. What's going on here?
The ipod itself still works fine when i plug it into other things to listen to it... it's just the software that seems to be screwed. Thanks for any help, in advance.

Were the app in your iTunes library? If not the app data in the backup has no place to go. Redownload the apps in your iTunes libaray

If still problem that means the backup does not include the data.

The message that I receive says that I would have to remove my Apple ID as it will not let me log in with that I'd even though I am the original owner, I have tried everything on find my iPhone as well, even there my Apple ID not showing on the devise.

You must have the credentials that were used to turn on Find my iPhone on the device. Without them, you can not get past the activation lock.
