Backing up MP3's to a storage device and keeping photo and info data intact

I have been recording older LPs and getting the album art from a collectible website. itunes stores these files in the library for the pictures I have added. Will these pictures carry over to a burned data/MP3 DVD and in the future be brought back on another computer?

Yes, if you paste the art in, it becomes part of the MP3 file. If you are using a JPEG from a website it probably adds 50-100 kB, but if you add a high quality file that you scanned or photographed, you could easily be adding 3-4 MB, as you note.
You might want to consider converting it to JPEG and shrinking the size.

All media and apps on the device should already be in iTunes on the computer.
If you have forgotten the restrictions passcode, the ONLY option is to restore as new.
Then sync back any media, apps, contacts, etc back to the device.
You can not restore from backup as the restrictions passcode is included in the backup.

OK, I understand. Try this ... it's much safer. It will simply restore your backup, but not do anything to your iOS:
While your iPhone is plugged in to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes display.
Choose "Restore from backup ..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
Again, what this will do is place that backup back on your iPhone without changing iOS. So you should be very confident in the backup contents before doing this.

When your data (everywhere- computer, phone, pad) deleted you normally restore it from back up. Find if and where you backed it up and restore from that backup.

Actually iCloud doesn't keep your photos until you back up your iPhone to iCloud: tap Settings > iCloud > Backup > enable Backup and tap Back Up Now. However, I have to tell you that iCloud backup file only contains your photos on your iPhone Camera Roll and can't be viewed unless you restore your iPhone with the backup file. For photos in Photo Library, you need to find a third-party tool to copy them to your computer. My Macbook Pro 5.5 was slow. I backed up word and my photos and wiped it clean. I reinstalled Snow leopard but my IPHOTO ILIFE is missing. I transferred word documents over and photo library but can't find IPHOTO anywhere. How do i get it back?

I have a Macbook Pro, 5,5. It's a few years old and was running slow. My son backed up my Microsoft Office documents and my photos onto a thumb drive and ran 'wiped my computer clean'...using a disc that came with my computer. (I am NOT computer savy at all).
I was able to reinstall the Mac OS X install DVD that came with my Mac, but IPHOTO, ILIFE did not reinstall. I transferred the word documents successfully, and my photos transferred to an icon on a 'library' on the desktop, but I can't use. How do i get IPHOTO back?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key. In addition, it was running much slower. Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect. This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key. Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?

If I have a mac formatted ipod classic and I want to use it as a hard drive, can I connect it to a pc and mac (to transfer files) without having to reformat?

If your iPod is formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats). Mac formatted iPods can only be used on a PC that has a third party helper program such as XPlay or MacDrive installed:

Why does the "Devices" gear keep spinning and spinning?

Finally got my headset today. Haven't had a chance to field test it much. But I am wondering why, after pairing, that "Devices" gear thingy keeps spinning around in the Settings menu? Is this drawing unnecessary juice from the battery? Anyone else's doing this?

I've seen that too. I think its because when you are in the Bluetooth Settings window, the phone is in discovery mode actively looking for new devices to pair with. (Kind of like an electronic mating season... the phone is hornee when in that screen.)
Once you are back to normal screens, the bluetooth is always active, but not as actively as when in discovery mode.
My 2 cents worth. Only a slightly educated supposition. Nothing else to back it up.

I have backed up my iPhone to iCloud. I have switched on the back up photos, etc. (basically everything). But, when I open iClould on my computer, and log in, the only things I see are my Contacts, iCloud email (not my other two email accounts that I use on my iPhone), iWork, Calendar, and Notes. I don't see any photos, videos, or music (all music purchased from iTunes Store). When Im logged in to iCloud on my desktop (actually, it's a MacBook), and open Settings, there really aren't that many things to 'set'. In fact, there isn't much in iCloud. Whats up?

You can't see the contents of an iCloud backup on the iCloud website.

In order to download to your phone over the air, you need to be connected to WiFi.
It's possible the Internet connection through Verizon is not stable enough for the downlaod to begin (it is a very large download).
You might want to head over to Starbucks with your laptop for the afternoon and see if you can download it over their WiFi.

Is it saying that there is not enough free space to backup to your computer? If so, make sure you have enough available hard drive space to back up your iPhone. If you do, a backup file on your computer is corrupted. The best way to resolve this problem is:
NOTE: This method will erase any and all backups iTunes has made of your iPhone from your computer. It should not erase the data on your iPhone, just the backup files that iTunes creates on your computer.
Launch iTunes, Go to iTunes>Preferences, then click on the Devices tab, select all of the backups made of your iPhone. Then click "Delete Backup...".

Using USB storage devices very slow in SL

I have two MAC's and use Entourage on both, in order to keep my Microsoft Data Base sync's I have it on a removable storage device which I move from MAc to Mac. Since updating to 10.6.1(SL) Entourage has slowed down to a snails pace and I can only assume that SL is doing something different in handling the USB external storage devices .
Very disappointing and frustrating .....Apple not a good move

Was the issue present in kernel26 as well? What filesystem does your usb device have? How slow is the transfer?

USB Storage Devices report "no media"

Lately, I've been having a problem with USB memory sticks on my HP laptop running Windows 7 x64. I've tried a SanDisk Cruzer and a Staples Relay In each case, when the device is plugged in, it soon appears in Device Manager both under "Disk
drives" with their respective brand names and under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" as a generic "USB Mass Storage Device". After a delay, it appears with a drive letter assignment in "My Computer" and is visible
in "Disk Management".
However, normally the USB device blinks for a short time and then glows steadily. In this case, it continued to blink.
Furthermore, when the drive letter (H: in this case, because I have two HDD partitions and the DVD/CD device shows as E, F, and G) is opened in Explorer, it shows as empty. Clicking on New Folder produces the message, "device not available, please
insert media and try again". Disk Management reports, "no media".
After examining various posts, I took the advice of Uninstalling the device from Device Manager (both the branded listing under Disk drives and the generic Mass Storage Device under USB Controllers, and then letting Windows reinstall the drivers. Within
a minute or so, the device was working! Great.
But then, when I switched to the other USB device, the original problem reappeared. Again, uninstalling the devices from Device Manager worked.
But, I obviously don't want to have to uninstall the device every time I wish to use a memory stick. Any solution?

Maybe try to update your chipset, sm bus controller and update your windows as well
For update chipset and sm bus controller you can find it at HP website or your chipset manufactured

Using Blackberry as a Mass Storage Device is not working at all. Please advise

It does not show up in My computer.It shows up in the device managers under Universal Serial Bus Controllers as
Blackberry Smartphone I would like to be able to have access to my media card without having to use my storage card reader.I went to computer management to see if it is a drive mapping issue, but it does not even show up there so there is no letter to assign.
I have made sure that The media card is formatted.
I have a Blackberry 8310
v4.5.0.81
Media Support is set to ON
Mass Storage Mode is ON
and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected is set to YES
It is a 4GB sandisk micro sd
The bberry is not locked.
Encryption mode is not enabled.
I do not have Acronis installed or an Iso mounters to cause any conflicts.
I am not using any network drivers.
Nothing else in plugged into any of the other ports
There are only two on my laptop and I have tried both usb ports.
It is plugged directly to a usb port and not into a hub.
My Computer's OS is XP Pro SP3
Also to reiterate, I am able to take the card out of the bberry and read it no problem through a card reader, but
that is annoying since you are supposed to be able to use see the blackberry as a mass storage device through
explorer.
And just recently as a test,I tried plugging in another blackberry, a 8800 and that one popped up no problem as a removable device in my computer. What I do not get is why Roxio Media Manager can see the 8310 and copy files over and the device manager has it listed as a smart phone under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers list. This is bizarre.

Is the laptop in a docking bay?
Content "encryption" meaning Content protection is turned off, right?
Are you able to backup and sync with the Desktop software?
Do you have the correct folders on the card?
Blackberry, music, ringtones, pictures, videos, voice notes?
(blackberry has to be first).
Last one, how did you format the card?
