Backing up Outlook in Win7 before deleting Bootcamp?

I know this is more of a microsoft question but don't want to have to find them.
I have been running Win7 in Bootcamp & then using Bootcamp as a vm in Parallels 5.
I want to upgrade to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard & getting help w all that in a little over an hr at Genius Bar.
Mountain Lion is downloaded & I also have Parallels 8 to install.
Parallels suggested just re-installing Windows in Parallels without Bootcamp which is what I think I will do. & so as I understand it, the next step is to get rid of Bootcamp, which will I guess get rid of anything in it.
I have run Windows backup, but I have never really figured out the file structure in Win 7. Had used XP for years but Win7 is very different.
So I need to know before we zap Bootcamp that eveything is backed up. It showes that it backed up files in libraries & personal folders for all users. Back up size is 1.86 GB.
I also copied by drag & drop some files that were on the desktop for good measure. But need to know if Outlook data would be included in that Windows backup.  While I should have checked it long ago, I think when I changed over to the mac mail & pda type apps that the way it was done, some things, including possibly some contacts didn't transfer over for some reason. So want to have it available to check later.
So, I hope someone can tell me if running Windows backup the way I did would have backed up the Outlook data. Or if not, how I would do that before it gets wiped out.
I'd like to be sure its ok to remove Bootcamp when I go in to the Genius Bar. & I don't know whether they would help w this issue. & at any rate, back up, installation, etc can be time consuming.
So I also am signed up for open training after the Genius bar so they can help me w the Mountain Lion set up after its finished installing. & I may, if time, also install Parallels while i'm there.

Well it wasn't just finding the website, but I haven't used it in a while so I'm not sure what my log in & password is, etc & was rushing & hoping that someone here would know the answer & be kind enough to just answer.
So I ended up leaving early for my appt at the Genius bar & going by the Microsoft store just down the way in the same mall & asked them. God out my backup drive & looked & he verifed it was backed up.
So then I went to the Genius bar & he opened up the Bootcamp asst & showed me the button to push. Moved over to the open training & actually pushed the button. So apparently it reformatted that part of the drive back for the Mac.
Now if only the Mountain Lion installation had gone that smoothly. It checked for software compatibility which was nice before it went ahead & installed & told me Parallels 5 was incompatible & moved it somewhere different. I already knew about that.
But it went through the install & then got stuck at the about 1 minute left mark. The trainer was saying that it can take longer than a minute & I know my washer & dryer will also do that where the last bit of time takes longer than it shows. But that minute was closer to an hour before he checked w genius bar & decided to power down. Then when we started it up again it started all over. 2nd time worked.

  • HT4818 I want to have an exFAT parition in addition to the Mac OS X and Windows partition.  If I create it before running BootCamp, it wants me to delete it.  If I create it in either Windows or Mac OS X afterwards, I can no longer dual boot.

    I want to have an exFAT parition in addition to the Mac OS X and Windows partition.  If I create it before running BootCamp, BootCamp wants me to delete it before continuing.  If I create it in either Windows or Mac OS X after running BootCamp and installing both OSes, I can no longer dual boot.  What is the magic sequence to get this to work?

    I've got the same quandary.
    After upgrading my hard drive to a Momentus XT Hybrid and doing a clean install of Mountain Lion, I was surprised that I couldn't format partitions separately and then restore from my clone of the old Windows 7 Partition. I found that I had to use the BootCamp Assistant to manage it all, which essentially meant getting rid of the partitions and starting again...
    I now can't get my Windows / BootCamp partition to boot, after adding a 3rd, ExFat, partition, when it was working perfectly fine before. I just get a lot of dos booting failures and a final message that "No boot device is available, press Enter to continue".
    See the attached message, that I get when trying to boot the bootcamp partition, through Parallels 7; which also worked perfectly fine before.
    Be good to know if there is a work around this in Mountain Lion as, if not, I'm thinking I might skip Bootcamp altogether and just install a machine drive via Parallels. As suggested here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1420754
    I might even keep the virtual windows machine on a separate hard drive and then I'll have no need for the ExFat partitions altogether as that was designated for  sharing between Windows  and Mac.

  • TS1702 How to back up data in an app before deleting and reinstalling?

    I have an app that isn't working properly.  The app support people have asked me to delete the app and reinstall, BUT TO BACK UP MY DATA, before deleting.  How do I back up the data in the no working app?

    There are reviews for apps in the itunes store.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/oneclickdigital/id515311743?mt=8
    What is the issue you are having with the app? Tell me that before you do any deleting or restoring.
    When you back up your ipad, it will back up the app data. Then when you restore the ipad from that backup, the data will be put back onto the ipad.
    What I would do, is backup the ipad via itunes on your computer per the instructions I posted.
    Then delete the app and reinstall it.
    See if you are still having the same issue.

  • HT3275 I've 1.85TB empty space on my time Machine, but it only backs up to the beginning of the previous month. it should have weekly back-ups for every month before that. Any ideas why it deletes stuff older than a month?

    I've 1.85TB empty space on my Time Machine, but it only retains back-ups to the beginning of the previous month. I should be able to access weekly back-ups for every month before that until the disk is full. Any ideas why it deletes stuff older than a month?
    Thanks, Rigby.

    If you are using Ethernet to connect your Mac to the Time Capsule, are you allowing at least 2-3 minutes for Time Machine to fully load when you open the application to see your backups?
    If you are using wireless to connect, you may need to allow 8-10 minutes or longer for everything to fully load, depending on the speed of your wireless connection.
    If you see only white time "bars" on the timeline at the right of the screen, you are seeing temporary backups. Permanent backups are displayed with purple "bars".

  • Cannot save contact changes in outlook, always reverts back to what it was before.

    Cannot save contact changes in outlook, always reverts back to what it was
    before.

    Hi
    As per the information and details provided by you, to save the all contacts in Outlook, please follow these steps: -
    By default, when you double-click on a contact in Outlook, the new
    Contact Card displays for that contact. The Contact Card does not contain all the fields from the full contact editing window that opens when you create a new contact.
    The
    Contact Card also displays by default when you search for a contact. You can still open the full contact editing window when editing a contact or when searching for a contact. To switch to your
    Contact folder, click the People link at the bottom of the
    Outlook window or press Ctrl+3.
    I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Calendar deleted, how get it back in Outlook

    Hi.
    For some reason my iPhones or iPads no more synced with Outlook.
    No matter if my old iPhone 4S or iPad, neither newer devices.
    In the new iTunes version I can not select Outlook no more, it just says all is synced with icloud.
    I would still like to have my dates on my PC.
    I deleted calendar (which seems to be the iTunes calendar in outlook) some month ago, as I never knew what to do with that and it always was empty anyways. My dates in former times were usually synced with the original Outlook Kalendar, not the calendar.
    Is there a way to get a sync back via Outlook?
    Thx

  • I deleted bootcamp assistant. Can I get it back?

    I deleted bootcamp assistant. Can I get it back?

    You can copy it from another Mac that has it. Do you have any friends or co-workers with Macs?

  • How can you retrieve information from a iCloud backup on a previous iPhone? Backup from old phone is taking up a lot of space, would like to save pics to computer before deleting. How can I open up the backup from previous phone that is now on the iCloud?

    I originally had an iPhone 4 but switched service carriers back in June.  When I bought the new iPhone 4s, all my information from the iPhone 4 was saved as a backup on the iCloud.  On my new phone in the iCloud settings, Storage & Backup, it shows the backup from the iPhone 4.  This backup is taking up a lot of space on my phone and I would like to delete to avoid having to purchase more space.  However, I know I have pictures on this backup from the iPhone 4 that I would like to view and save on my computer if at all possible before deleting.  Is it possible to view the photos from this backup? If so, how? Thank you in advance for any assistance.  I hope this makes sense, lol, I'm not very computer literate.

    Unfortunately with the issues I mentioned above I don't even think I have enough space for that on the computer!  I have literally moved all moy pictures, music, etc. to another drive and all that's left are some small docs and applications.  I don't know how to find any more space on the thing and can't get things updated until I fix this...

  • Outlook Sync Problem: Spontaneous Deletions of Calendar Items

    Hi there,
    Occasionally, my Microsoft Outlook (Office 2003) decides to delete calendar items on my Curve (Verizon) or vice versa. I try changing the sync setting to one way so that whichever device has for some reason lost data gets the calendar items put back in, but now my outlook is trying to delete those items from my device calendar even though I don't want them deleted. I don't have an extraordinary amount of entries (almost 1600). Any advice? This has started happening every 2 or 3 weeks.
    Thanks!

    PS I've been reading some other threads: wondering if my calendar events get corrupted when someone outside sends me a meeting invite (I'm not on an enterprise server). Those calendar events always seem to have conflict resolution issues between my device calendar and outlook calendar. Ideas?
    (I deleted those invites off my outlook calendar and just typed in regular invites. Hopefully that will help)

  • Get Current SQL in Before delete trigger

    Hi,
    I have created a before delete trigger to track which records are deleted from a table I need to know what statements fires the trigger. can someone please describe how I can retrieve the current SQL.
    using sys_context('userenv','CURRENT_SQL') returns null for CURRENT SQL
    Note:
    For me the easier is to enable auditing and audit delete on the table however at the moment I cant get a downtime from the business to bounce the database to enable auditing.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER before_delete BEFORE DELETE
    ON AUDIT_TEST_TAB
    FOR EACH ROW
    DECLARE
    v_username varchar2(50);
    v_stmt varchar2(255);
    v_client_info varchar2(200);
    v_os_user varchar2(50);
    v_machine varchar2(50);
    v_program varchar2(50);
    v_module varchar2(50);
    v_auth_type varchar2(200);
    v_ip_addr varchar2(200);
    v_sql_statement VARCHAR2(4000);
    BEGIN
    SELECT sys_context ('USERENV', 'CURRENT_SQL')
    INTO v_sql_statement
    FROM dual;
    -----------insert into logging table statment ----
    end;

    A few comments.
    Lets assume you run a delete statement that deletes 550 rows from your table. If your trigger is working then the very same statement would be stored 550 times. I think an BEFORE or better an AFTER delete STATEMENT level trigger would be the better choice. Why AFTER? Because if the delete operation fails, for example because of existing child records, then everything is rolled back anyway to the implicit savepoint just before the delete.
    So to store the SQL statement the correct trigger would be an AFTER STATEMENT DELETE trigger.
    Now what to store: You want the sql statement. You could try to find the cursor/currently running SQL. It might be tricky to separate that from the SQLs that you run to find this out.
    It could even be possible to simply save all commands that are in your PGA/Cached cursor area. First find out yur session, then store the SQL_text (first 60 chars) for all the cursors in this session by using v$open_cursor or the first 1000 chars by using v$sql.
    Here are a few views that might be helpful. v$session , v$open_cursor, v$sql, v$sqltext, v$sql_bind_data, v$sql_bind_capture, dba_hist_sqltext

  • 2 Qs PRIMARY Q: Should one compact before deleting TB email or vice versa

    HELLO, MY PRIMARY QUESTION: Apparently compacting is part of deletion. But should one Compact before Deleting TB email or Vice Versa OR does it matter which comes first?
    SECONDARY NOTE & QUESTION;i have read the article on compacting but still do not know exactly what this word means- (e.g. does it means compressing & why is it absolutely necessary for deletion? In this regard the TB compacting article says in PERTINENT part; "IF the message is marked as DELETED or moved, Thunderbird SKIPS that message and moves onto the next message." The preceding quote would seem to say that compacting is not part of deletion, yet i know (or think I know) that both deleting a email and compacting it are necessary for its TOTAL DELETION in TB. Can anyone explain this seeming contradiction? ( I used to use Outlook and i do not remember the term "compacting" with that system).
    ANY ANSWER TO EITHER QUESTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU

    Deleting a message marks it for deletion and hides it. Compacting actually removes it and frees up the disk space. Delete then compact.
    Despite the poorly chosen name compacting has nothing to do with compressing files as in zipping them.

  • There is no warning before deleting a playlist or folder?

    Hello all,
    I wanted to ask if there's a way to get a warning before deleting a playlist or folder?
    I've organised my music in folders with playlist but hitting the return button will remove a complete folder at once and I don't know how to recover it. The songs are still in the lib but how can I recollect my lost playlists when I have a few 1000 songs in the lib?
    Or is there a way to backup the playlists so I can recover them that way?
    Thank you

    You likely selected, at one time, the "Do not ask again" box when you deleted a playlist. If something's already been deleted, do not expect to get it back. If you want that option to return again, you may be able to deleted you iTunes plist. With iTunes closed, go to your home folder > library > preferences and delete a file called come.apple.itunes.plist. Restart. Try and open iTunes and remove a playlist (create a blank one if there's nothing you can safely delete).
    As for saving playlists and such:
