Backing up recordings from iPhone

I've recently made and saved audio recordings with 'Record' on my iPhone of my grandmother who has since passed away, I am desperate to find out how I can download/back off these recordings to my Mac. Can anyone help?

Hi, thanks for your help on this. I don't have wifi on my mac at home but have tried downloading 'Sink' to my PC at work which is on wifi, but have not had any luck with the software seeing my iphone. Do you have any other suggestions for getting these files off. I have managed to email one file to my home email account as it was just a couple of minutes but one file is 4.3 minutes long and the other is 6 minutes and these won't mail.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

randers4 - I decided to go with the My Contacts Backup app which produced success (I'll know for sure if I need to use the file)
JoFlo57 - I understand that I could use iCloud but I'm a little on the paranoid side about everybody's data in one location... what with hackers getting into Sony's Playstation accounts and other infamous huge hacking security failures I frankly don't feel safe storing anything on iCloud.

Backing up pictures from iPhone/iPad to icloud

Hello all,
I need help on a issue I am currently facing with my Apple devices.
I don't have nay kind of Notebook ( no mac, no windows etc...) and now I have to back up my pictures from my iPhone 5 as my storage space in the phone is pretty low now.
My questions are:
Is there a way to make a back up from my iPhone into iCloud, deleat the pictures in my iPhone and leave only in the iCloud? or
Is there a way to back up all my pics in my iPad mini ( 64gb ) and iCloud and deleat from iPhone and be able to access in my iCloud directly from my iPhone?
Bottom line is that I need to free up space in my iPhone ( i believe storing in iCloud) but being able to access from iPhone.

What's the best way to backup contacts from iPhone? When I back up my phone on iTunes, does it backup my contacts too?
Last time I tried to backup with address book, it completely deleted all my contacts !

I created a folder in Photos on my iPhone. Then I moved photos from Camera Roll to that folder, deleting photos from Camera Roll afterwards. As I understand it, this new folder and the photos in it do NOT get backed up to iCloud. Nor do I see how it gets backed up in iTunes. How and where does this album get backed up exactly?

Backing up contacts from iphone 5s to laptop / icloud

I am desperately trying to back up my contacts from my iphone to my laptop & / Or icloud.
On my phone most of the contacts comefrom my live.com (outlook) email account - hoever when I go into live.com my contacts arent there. I was told to pull the contacts of live.com into an CSV file and then upload to cloud but on Live.com the only contacts are my linkedin contacts not the actual phone contacts
This is really becoming an issue and all the advice points towards getting the contacts from the relevant email accounts but that is proving impossible
SO i wondered if there was another way of pulling the information directly from the iphone (like in the good old days on Nokia!)

How do I back up Contacts from iPhone to PC

I am under the impression (perhaps mistaken) that the Contacts on my iPhone can be backed up onto my Windows 7 Home Premium PC so as to appear in the Contacts Folder.
How do I do this?
I have tried going through the procedure of launching iTunes (11.1.0.126) connecting my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.2) clicking the iPhone button and in the window that opens below selecting back up to this computer. That ran through apparently OK, but the Contacts from my iPhone were not transferred to the Contacts Folder on my PC.
Can this be done?
If so how?
I have backed up to iCloud but also would like to back up my Contacts to my PC.

If she uses a computer to log into her iCloud account, she can export her contacts as a vCard file, which can then be imported into your iCloud account (when logged into iCloud via a computer, click on Contacts then look for the "gear" at the lower-left corner). She can also do a similar thing from her GMail account, but if you want to import to your iCloud make sure she exports as vCard since that's all iCloud can read.
There are also apps that export your contacts in a variety of formats and I think it then sends the exported file as an e-mail attachment. That might be the easiest process, assuming that you both have the same app or at least compatible apps that can export/import the same file type.
Another solution is try extracta contats from your iPhone backp, just backp your iPhone to iTunes, then extact contacts, messages from your iPhone to computer, this is the article: How to extract iPhone data from iTunes backup file

Using iCloud your contacts are back upped in iCloud no need to worry. I think you can use third party iOS transfer programs to export it also.

My backed up files from iphone to my mac cannot be seen as they are, but only numbers and letters, they seem to be encrypted even though I did not click on encrypted when backing up

Backups of an iPhone made using iTunes are stored in a format that is only meant for use in a restore and are not meant to be accessed directly. There are other methods of transferring things like photos and contacts to your computer such as iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer, iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ, and https://www.apple.com/icloud/
If you absolutely must directly access an iTunes backup there is 3rd party extraction software available such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

PC crashed! How do I get my photos back on it from iPhone?

I used iTunes to sync my photos on my PC to my iPhone. My PC crashed this last week and I had to reinstall the OS. Now when I sync my iPhone it tells me it will erase all the pics on it. I just want to put the pics from the iPhone back to my PC. How would I go about doing this? When I attempt an sync it tells me that I will over write all the data on my iPhone. There has to be a way to send my data back to my PC without a jailbreak or similar means of retrieval.

Except for Camera Roll photos (pics taken on the phone), pictures sync one way - from computer to phone. The iPhone is not a backup device. You can use 3rd party software to transfer the pics back (google TouchCopy) - but, they will be reduced in resolution (pics are 'optimized' when they are synced to the phone, and reduced to ~0.6 megapixels). You could also email them to yourself, which would reduce the resolution even further (to ~0.3 megapixels, 640x480 pixels).
Hard drives fail, which is why an external drive and a good backup routine are important!
