Backlight of the LCD monitor is not turning o

For some strange reason, my Zen Micro, which was working perfectly until today, ran into a big problem. The backlight for the LCD monitor does not turn off, even when I shut it down. The backlight remains on until I remove the battery. I tried to adjust the settings and even re-format my zen mirco, but it is still having the same problem. Please help! Thanks.

Yes, I have tried everything from resetting to reformating and still the problem remians. I don't know what could have happened to it. It was working perfectly until this somehow happened. Has anyone else recieved this problem? Thanks.

  • T520: Monitor does not turn on after boot or waking from sleep

I have a pretty standard T520, the only modifications are upgrading to a larger battery and higher screen resolution (1600x1200), and am currently running windows 7 64bit.  Whenever I turn on the machine from a powered off state, or if I try and wake it up from being asleep, 2/3 of the time the monitor will fail to turn on.  I am only able to remedy this by closing the lid, letting it go to sleep again, opening it again, holding down the fn key (if that even helps), and hoping it turns on the next time.  On a fresh boot, the screen backlight is on, but there is never anything displayed on the monitor, so I cannot even go in to the BIOS.  To get to the BIOS, I have to boot normally, repeatedly open/close the monitor until it displays something, reboot, and hope the monitor is still working after the reboot.
The forum posts I have seen on this topic seem to only relate to this problem with external monitors; however, this is occuring with the laptop monitor itself.
Has anyone else had this issue, or know of ways to correct it?

One other note: I am not hearing the hard drive start spinning on the times that the monitor does not turn on when returning from hibernate.  When the monitor does turn on, there is the distinct sound of the hard drive starting up, and I can feel a bit of torque within the laptop from the hdd.

  • Monitor will not turn on

After years of good service, my monitor will not turn on when I turn on the MacPro.

I am sorry to hear that.
Tell us some model numbers for your display, your display card, which Mac Pro, and stuff like that and Readers would love to speculate on what the most likely problem (and maybe even solutions) might be.

  • Dust speckles under the LCD monitor screen

    Hi,
I have a Canon Rebel T3i and have had it for a year and a half.I love it. However, lately I've noticed several speckles of dust under the LCD monitor screen. it's not affecting my pictures but is kind of distracting when i'm looking at the pictures on the monitor. Anyone else familiar with this problem or know what I can do about this?

"... picture and is only on the display ..."
Boy you have throughly confused this ol'boy.  What exactly is the dislay?  Are you talking in the view finder?  Are you talking the LCD screen on the back of the camera?
It is easy to get dust in the view finder but, I think, impossibile to get dust under the LCD display.
If you are talking the view finder, get a Rocket Blower.  The rest are junk.

  • Up-Dated to 10.9.3 and now my 30 inch monitor does not turn on

I just up dated to 10.9.3 and now my 30 inch monitor does not turn on, only my 24 inch one does. But if I disconnect my 24 icy one, then my 30 inch works. this was not happening on 10.9.2. what is wrong?

My problem is fixed. I phoned Apple and they put me thorugh to an engeneer and he epxlained to me how to re-set the PRAM and I did and it worked. Both my monitors are up and running again.
Shut down the computer, when you start it up again after the start up sound press at the same time the ALT, COMMAND, P and R buttons until you hear the Mac start up sound again.
    It worked.
    Thanks again Apple and omit.

  • LCD Digitizer is not turning on, but phone still working as normal, screen still responding, back light is still on.

    Hi Good community of Apple,
I have a question for us experts about an iPhone 4s.
I did lots of research and I didn’t find a discussion at Apple (and elsewhere) about to this.
I had recently open the phone because a simcard could not come out, and that's all I wanted to do. So I took off as far as the silver chasis inside next to the camera (not the chipboard) and got the simcard out. Then after putting everything together and turn on the phone, I found out that the screen display does not turn on -- the screen still respond, the backlight turns on (esp when receiving messages, getting out of standby mode), the call works, the sound works, etc. The phone is functioning as normal except the screen is not showing colours. Phone's been fine beforehand. Never dropped or sink into water.
    Any advise please?
I've tried soft reset / hard reset, pressing the chasis again, putting into DFU mode and put into rice, and other things I forgot, but to no avail.

Next step would be setting it up a new device without using the latest backup, in case it contains corrupt data causing your problem.

  • Hdmi audio on the lcd monitor

I'm using the mini-dvi to hdmi, hdmi to hdmi adapter and im wondering if there was any way to have the audio come out of the lcd monitor instead of from my computer?

Are you connecting to a TV? If so, something like this is what you need: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8V235-12-12-Foot-Audio-Cable/dp/B000067RBT/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239900633&sr=8-1
Otherwise, you can buy any set of external speakers, so long as they connect to the audio-out (headphone) jack on your computer.

  • I have an iPod touch 2G and I can't set up a passcode lock. I hit "Turn Passcode on" and then enter the passcode I want. Then it brings me back to the Passcode Lock Screen, NOT turning on my passcode.

I hit "Turn Passcode on" and then enter the passcode I want. Then it brings me back to the Passcode Lock Screen, NOT turning on my passcode. Now this iPod touch is a gift from my family, used before me. I set up my iTunes account, but when i view my Apple account it's not showing up. Is this the reason my iPod isnt working? Please help.

    The users guide says:
    Passcode Lock
By default, iPod touch doesn’t require you to enter a passcode to unlock it.
Set a passcode: Choose General > Passcode Lock and enter a 4-digit passcode, then enter the passcode again to verify it. iPod touch then requires you to enter the passcode to unlock it or to display the passcode lock settings.
Turn passcode lock off: Choose General > Passcode Lock, enter your passcode, and tap Turn Passcode Off, then enter your passcode again.
Change the passcode: Choose General > Passcode Lock, enter your passcode, and tap Change Passcode. Enter your passcode again, then enter and reenter your new passcode.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Get a new phone, either by buying the latest model or getting an OOW replacement and you will receive one like the one you have now.

There is a problem with iMessage with what Apple says is a small number of iPhones and they are working on a fix. In the meantime try this:
    1. Settings > Messages > iMessage = Off
    2. Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime = Off
    3. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    4. Wait for the iPhone to Reboot
    5. Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime = On
    6. Settings > Messages > iMessage = On
You may have to repeat the steps a couple of times.
