Backlit screen

I was wondering that on the iPod Photo 20 GB is there a backlit screen? I want to buy an iPod but I need one with a backlit screen.
Thanks for your time in answering this for me.
Inspiron 1000   Windows XP

Yes, there is a backlit screen.
Do you mean you want to buy the old iPod with color screen or the new iPod with video? The only reason I ask is because the old iPods come in the 20GB size, while the new ones are 30GB.
I hope this helps!

  • X220: Blank, backlit screen on boot

    Hey everyone.
Recently had some fan errors, so I followed advice on here actually to replace it. Today I replaced the fan and took care in reassembling the rest of the laptop. However, now when I boot it up the screen stays as black and backlit as if it was perpetually loading windows. I can hear windows 7 boot up, as well as a few Apps start. I can also change the brightness of this backlit screen with function keys and such.
I checked the connections where I had previously disconnected the display several times and they're sound. Any one have any tips? The fan works fine now, but I created another problem in solving my first one.
    thanks!

Thanks for the tips Hemanth. This x220 model only has vga out and I surprisingly don't have a single via port on my tv or anywhere in my apartment.
I also tried reseating the RAM a few times and performed a power drain several times, still with no result. I've had this laptop for a couple years now, so I don't have any sort of warranty on it at all. I also found A thread on here with a similar, albeit unresolved, problem here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-Tablet-and-Helix/X220-blank-screen-at-boot-not-even-POST-spash-screen/m-p/532083
The OP has the same problem as me. Is there anything else to try or am I more or less in a bad place?

  • Just a blank white backlit screen

on my iPod nano, which i have had for a month, all i get is a blank white backlit screen.  I was on the phone with apple support for 35 minutes and they couldn't help me.  we tried restoring it, reset it like 5 times, made sure i have all the updated software and still nothing.  when i connect to itunes it says on iTunes that it is synching but on the iPod itself, nothing.  just still a bank white/backlit screen. does anyone have any idea what to do?

You will have to erase your drive because it has a corrupted directory resulting from allowing the drive to become full.
Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Macbook pro retina blank backlit screen on boot?

My MBP 13" Retina just stopped rendering the screen. On boot, it chimes and the back light comes on but that's it. At first I thought it was non responsive, but when I connect an external monitor I can see that it works fine. It's just the primary display that doesn't render anything (only backlight with blank, black screen).
    A few details worth knowing:
    1) Last time I saw my primary display work, I had 10% battery left, I shut the lid. Next time I opened the lid, around 2 days later, it was just blank and backlit. I did a forced restart and from then on it only gave me a blank backlit black screen.
    2) Works well if i boot it with an external monitor connected. when the chime comes on, I immediately shut the lid and use only the external display with external keyboard and mouse.
    3) Video gets laggy when I use it on dual monitor mode (not the case before this problem happened). I boot up the macbook with an external display connected. No video on both screens. I have to login blindly before the second monitor gets video. Primary display still doesn't render anything, albeit showing a lighted blank black screen.
    4) I've already tried resetting the PRAM. didn't help.
Does anyone have any luck/experience with this problem? Please help!

  • IPod 4G stays on black backlit screen(no logo)

I just woke up today and went to play an app on my touch 4G, and all of a sudden it just goes black screen. Now I cant do anything. Tried resetting it....I've held the power and home button for minutes to no avail. There is no Apple logo on the screen, it is just black but it is backlit black.
I tried plugging it in my computer and the computer doesnt even recognize it....
If you're wondering the game, it was Jenga.

    - After being connected to a charging source for an hour, try placing the iPod in recovery mode. Then connect to computer and see if iTunes sees the iPod. It it does then restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

    - Next try DFU mode.

  • Dropped 5th gen  blank white backlit screen with crack on inner screen

Please can anyone help. Is it worth just getting the screen repaired or will i still encounter any problems as the ipod no longer connects properly to the computer. And i cannot get anything to work, it just displays a blank white screen until the battery runs out.
It was only a 2 ft drop onto carpet. Not a scratch/dent visible.

Have you tried doing a reset on it yet?
Slide the hold switch from OFF to ON back to OFF then immediately hold down BOTH the center and Menu buttons for a good 15-30 seconds or until it restarts with the Apple logo.
Resetting isn't always effective once and you may need to retry it several times to get it to work.

  • Which T400 models have LED backlit screen?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a new Thinkpad T400, and because of the Inetrnational warrenty problems, I cant customize one on Lenovo.com. Hence I'm searching for a pre-configured model.
The problem is I cant seem to find one that has the LED backlight other than the 2767. Am I missing something?
I'm looking for a model with the LED backlight, 2.2-2.8 ghz processor, at least 160GB 7200 HD, and the dedicated graphics.
The only model I found which has these is the 2767 R9U which has loads of things I really dont want, like blu-ray, bluetooth, camera etc. These things raise the price to around 2,500$.
Is there a model I'm missing or is this really the only option other than customizing?
    Thanks.

That model number is not listed as having an LED screen in tabook

  • Non-backlit screen, help?

I'm sort of getting tired of taking this 'Book apart and reassembling… I have the infamous missing backlight problem: the display has images but no illumination. I have replaced the inverter twice with the same results, am wondering what other sources might cause this problem. I am doubting that the bulb is bad (though not completely ruling out); there was no gradual dimming or pink tone to the display, just a sudden "lights out" event.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Jan Georgen

I assume you've tried resetting the brightness by pressing the appropriate keys on the keyboard. It's therefore entirely possible that it is the bulb in the display. You might be better off buying a new LCD (with bulb in it) than trying to replace the one in your current screen. You can get them pretty cheap off eBay (the 12 inch Powerbook uses the same screen as the G3 and G4 iBooks)

  • IPad displays a black backlit screen after hitting home button to wake

When I press the home button to wake my iPad 2 up after the display goes to sleep I get a black screen with backlight and nothing else. My short term fix is just hitting the sleep wake button and it usually responds

    Devinpz-
Check out Settings-Brightness & Wallpaper.  Mine has Auto-Brightness set in the middle of its range.  I have images set for both the Wake-up screen and the Home screen.  If your Brightness is set too low or your Wake-up screen image is black, that might explain at least part of your problem.
One thing to try is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • Display not backlit- screen hard to see- all apps! Any ideas?

About 3 weeks ago my iphone went dark. It shows a fully lit screen when I initially plug it in for recharge. Then after half a sec it goes dark. The backlight is on for a fraction of a sec when I wake it up as well. Otherwise the phone works in all its applications. Photos taken with it come in with normal color and light (although I have no idea what it is I am taking a picture of). I have reset it (Wake/Sleep+ Home). NO change. I have upgraded to OS4.2. No change. Thanks for any suggestions.

thanks for your reply. I have played w brightness setting and have removed case as per instructions in web page for associated problem of it staying dark after phone call ends. It seems like it is broken. Probably time for a new one as it makes no sense to spend $250 to ship it and have it looked at. Is is a bad signs when your problem is not included in the 1500 discussion threads about problems. Thanks tho'.

  • T400 vs T500 Screen Resolution (LED backlit)

It's nice to see that LED backlight is now available for both the ThinkPad T400 and T500.
However the T400/T500 Notebook Specifications indicate the following resolutions for the LED backlit screens:
    T400  WXGA+ 1680 x 1050 129 dpi 200+ nit
    T500  WXGA   1280 x 800     98 dpi 185+ nit
I'm wondering why the larger screen has the lower resolution, and also why illumination is not as good.
    Are these specs correct?

Yes, it's nice to see the LED backlight option available for the T500 model. I had hoped for higher resolution to match what I have on my  15" Macbook Pro at 1440x900 and it was a concern for me when I was trying to decide on which option for the screen to go with my T500.
I thought I might regret my choice but after receiving my T500 I'm extremely happy with the LED backlight option even it's resolution is a little lower.
If one decides to place the the higher resolution screen on the Macbook Pro beside the T500 you'll probably notice the slight difference in resolution with the text and windows. But in real life I don't think you'll spend time with your head inches away from the screen studying the pixel difference.
Even thought the LED WXGA  screen on the T500 is only 1280 x 800 I'm very happy with it.

  • Display/screen not working

Hi, I'm having an issue with the screen on my laptop.  Last night I closed the cover while the laptop was on, and opened it a few minutes later and the screen was white.  I don't have the computer set to do anything upon closing it.  I rebooted and a white (backlit) screen appeared, then after a minute it went black.  It looked like the computer was booting up and I plugged in an eternal monitor and sure enough, it was.  (I'm working from it now.) So the hard drive, etc, is fine.  But the screen won't turn on.
I saw suggestions for removing the power cord and battery, holding the power switch for half a minute, then putting it back together and rebooting and this did nothing for me.  I've not updated Windows (XP) for a few weeks, and I've not updated the video driver in quite a while.  The video card is working fine with the external monitor.
The device manager shows 3 identical default standard monitors (I only have the laptop screen and the external, so I'm not sure what's going on there).  It says all are working properly.
I'm thinking that the screen either disconnected somehow, or that the on/off switch associated with opening/closing the screen somehow screwed up, but have no idea how to check either.
I'd love to hear any suggestions.
(Oh, and this went out of warranty a long time ago.)

have a look whether your laptop is eligible for the post warranty warranty, if it is then you should get it and repair this laptop under warranty.

  • Re: NB200 - Making noise and screen goes blank

    Hi
My notebook is making pitched noise and the screen becomes blank. Please help with this issue.
    Thanks

When that happens, does Windows still run in the background? Can you still see a faint image on the screen?
If yes, then the screen may be faulty (I don't think there is an FL Inverter since its an LED Backlit screen).
If no, then it may be the motherboard.

  • White Screen & USB device not recognised - 8900

My 8900 turned on one morning displaying only a backlit white screen.  I connected to my laptop and was able to sync and backup in Desktop Manager.  Whilst connected I selected the last installed apps to be removed.  The phone rebooted and froze.
Now no matter what I do I cannot get my laptop to recognise the phone (usb not recognised).  The phone still has a white backlit screen.
Tried removing battery for 10 hours.
    Any advice?

STOP PRESS: On a whim, I tried plugging the USB cable direct into the PC (its an old 'tower' model that sits under the desk). Bingo. It suddenly recognised the iPad. I had previously been plugging the USB cable into the port on the monitor. Why this makes any difference is a total mystery. But it's an easy WORK AROUND, so it will do.
Would still be interested if anyone has a solution that saves me furtling under then desk everytime I want to sync my iPad.
