Backup 3 v3.2, is it still relevant?

I have the Backup 3 application on my iMac, running Mountain Lion.
I am also using time machine.
I was in the Apple Store today (not with my iMac). I couldn't find the application on any of their machines. Their techncians were not familiar with the program.
Is Backup still relevant to use?

I would delete the oldest back ups first, but it depends on the size of the drive and the size of your hard disk.
look for full backups in there too delete the oldest if there is more than 1, however I would probably just format the drive, wiping it clean and do a fullbackup leaving the machine on overnight with sleep turned off in system preferences if it were me. Then in the morning everything you need is there!
If you want to hold onto some older files you no longer have but that has been backed up in the past, youll need to use time machine to locate those files, restore them and then do a full backup.

The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings. Hope you have a backup.
Follow the instructions in iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

The recent update in Yosemite (10.10.3) is causing some issues for some users.
Try a complete network power cycle as follows:
Power off each and every device on your network......modem, Time Capsule, computers, printers, etc......in any order that you want
Wait a minute
Power up the modem and let it run 2-3 minutes
Then, power up the next device that is connected to the modem an let it run a full minute
Then, continue to power up devices one at a time about a minute apart until everything is back up
Check the network
Wait for a backup to occur and report on your results

Is Enterprise Library still relevant?

I am going to port an old C++ application to C# and intend to replace the C++ custom written cross-cutting libraries with third party cross-cutting frameworks/libraries.   In particular, I have been reviewing the Enterprise Library
for the past week.   One issue that raises a significant red flag is that the version 6 of the Enterprise Library is not backwards compatible with version 5.   For example, a review of the developer guides from both versions shows that
the security, cashing and cryptography blocks found in version 5 have been removed in version 6.
I have not used the Enterprise Library before. But the lack of backwards compatibility alone seems to be a reason enough to avoid using Enterprise Library. That is, significant changes between versions would seem to make this library very impractical
to use.   So my question is the Enterprise Library still relevant/practical or would I be better off using other frameworks/libraries for crossing cutting issues (e.g.: FluentValidation, log4net)?

Is Final Cut Studio with Final Cut Pro 5 still relevant and usable? I bought it about four or five years ago and never started learning it, but would like to start learning editing now. Thanks.

That is the version I have. What formats can I work with in FCP 5.1. For example, can I edit movies from my Nikon Coolpix 7900 point and shoot that is about five years old? My Panasonic DV camera that is also about five or six years old? Will I be able to burn these types of footage to disc once edited and watch them on a DVD player. Thanks for your former replies.

Is Shake still relevant?

Now that there is the new Snow Leopard OS, and new Final Cut Studio, is Shake still relevant and a good product to work with?
I ask b/c I view my video work as mostly just a hobby and I wouldn't want to shell out the money to purchase Shake, only to find that it won't run well/at all with the newest software.

I am studying the implementation of Simple Finance and wonder whether the NewGL rollups are still relevant?
My requirement is to agregate, transform and control data before transfer to the consolidation plateform.
Do you know if there is any enhanced or new solution that can fulfill this requirement?
If I can use the same function, do you know if it has been developped on Hana DB and benefit from Hana capabilities?
I try to find detailed help documentation about Simple Finance (custo & functional) but I am not sure to find the good one, could you help me finding it.

For your requirement of aggregation and transformation prior to transfer into consolidation, we still recommend using the "classical" approaches of roll-up ledger, extraction to SAP Business Warehouse, or SAP Financial Information Management.

When I try to pull up old backups, I only see one from this morning and an old one from May 2012 when I still had my iPhone 3GS. I have not been using iCloud since it was set up improperly when I first switched to the 4S, the contacts weren't being synced AT ALL. visited the genius bar, they said I need a whole other appointment to visit them and solve that, I haven't had a chance to do that yet. Thus, I am backing up to iTunes.
This morning's sync/backup resulted in me losing most of my contacts, and for the contacts that remain, 99% of the phone numbers are gone. I can recover my calendar entries from this past week, but I don't know how I can recover all of them from my May 2012 backup.
Since I had a backup just last week, I'd like to just go back to it. But how? Or, is there another way to get my contacts restored? And why did they disappear? And what else may be gone that I just don't know about yet?

I've deleted all my pictures, videos, AND disabled iCloud backup. Why does it still say my iCloud storage is almost full?

My iPhone 4s says that I only have 44.5 MB of my 5 GB left on iCloud. To fix this, it said to delete some data (which I did, 206 photos and 11 videos to be exact), and it still says I only have 44.5 MB left. I disabled iCloud backup, made all my backups straight to my computer and synced my phone at least 10 times but nothing's changed. Help? Hyper-V Backup failed but Hyper-V still shows Backing Up-

We have DPM setup on a Physical machine backing up 3-Node Hyper-V 2012 Cluster using Dell Equallogic SAN. Today I noticed a Hardware Snapshot still sitting out there from 4 days ago. The snapshot is also attached and mounted to the Node from
which the backup started. Digging deeper the VM that failed from 4 days ago has a “Backing Up…” Status in Hyper-V. Rebooted DPM server and don’t see any running jobs in DPM Console. Tried to Live Migrate the VM from Failover Cluster
console then the Console failed and had to reload.
Any Idea how to stop the Backup from Hyper-V without stopping the VM?

I have exactly the same issue. Some bugs?
But managed to solve the problem by restarting Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service of the offending host...

Iphone 6 been restoring from icloud backup for 9 days and still not finished?

I got my iPhone 6 on the 19th when it came out. It's an ATT 128 gb model. I started restoring from icloud backup on that Friday (9 days ago). It still is saying it's restoring from backup. Daily it's asking me to delete the data or keep downloading. This phone is for my business, so the info is very important. I am also worried that all the things in the last week have yet to be backed up since then, because I can't back it up till the restore is complete. I also can't do the new software update 8.0.2. I am on a fast WIFI nearly 18+ hours a day and I can surf the net just fine, but why is my restore from 9 days ago still not finished?

This needs to get improved. I had the exact same issue migrating my 5 and wife's 5S previously. It's never worked well. We need status bars, and indications of what has been copied, what remains to be copied, and ways to resume it and pause it without hoping it works and getting messages in the morning asking if you want to resume it, making you wonder if anything actually occurred overnight. The message doesn't pop up within 10 minutes of connecting to power and wi-fi so I have no idea how long it actually takes to come up.
It's unacceptable to think any device owner wants to roll the dice and hope they have all their data. We use these devices for our jobs and that data is critical for some of us. It's not all just pictures of the dog! Even though those are critical, too!! It would be different if this wasn't a known issue and the resolution wasn't so easy...get this fixed!!!
