Backup and restore buttons not working
Hi,
Any button in my backup and restore centre with a shield next to it (for UAC) is not working. Identical to this thread:

A fair way down that page, Lokesh replies but I don't have any of the software that he mentions in his post. Is anyone able to help?

According to the Lokesh's reply, this problem is probably caused by 3rd plugin in Windows Explorer Shell. UAC dialog couldn't be prompt correctly.

Not able to sign into Blackberry Protect. Backup and Restore function not working. Message is: "Your device isn't associated with a Blackberry ID." My Blackberry Messenger and Blackberry World is working fine so I am sure its not an ID issue on the phone. I can sign into Link, Blackberry.com and Protect. I see my device in Protect but cannot send messages or view it on a map. Times out with cannot reach device message. BB Protect on Device has a swirling circle beside the on/of switch. Cannot turn off.
I have deleted Link and re-installed.
I have reset phone to default(factory) and signed in.

Go to Solution.I managed to figure this out myself. I had to delete the device from the Blackberry Protect website. protect.blackberry.com. I wiped my device again and signed in with my Blackberry ID. I dont know if the step of wiping was necessary as I did not try my backup with the current configuration on the device following the delete. Restore is in progress for me!

Those are hardware issues. You can try all of the software troubleshooting if you want. Restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If that does not work, then your only option is to pay someone for something. The decision is up to you, but I've provided the options.

I am not able to Come out of this screen 9000 using

To avoid this problem you have to use AT EXIT-COMMAND Module.
1. In the GUI Status for both EXIT and CANCEL buttons assign the Function type E (Exit Command)
2. In the PAI of the Screen Call this module.
MODULE EXIT_SCREEN AT EXIT COMMAND.
3. Now check the OK_CODE or Sy-ucomm in this module to Leave the Screen
MODULE EXIT_SCREEN INPUT.
CASE OK_CODE.
WHEN 'EXIT' .
LEAVE TO SCREEN 0.
WHEN 'CANCEL'.
ENDCASE.
ENDMODULE.
This will surely work.

Okay, iTunes just doesn't know what it wants.
When I connect my iPod, it says some songs cannot be synced because the software is too old and I should update. However, the whole "Version" section is grayed out and the update and restore buttons are disabled. What?

12" iBook Mac OS X (10.4.8) iPod 5G, 60GBOkay, I figured it out.
Here's how to restore the iPodDriver.kext file without re-installing Mac OS:
1) Get a working iPodDriver.kext file. You can either use a program called Pacifist (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12743) to extract the file from an install DVD, or get one from someone else's computer. I happened to have a complete backup of my hard drive with a working file, so I used that.
2) Quit iTunes if it is running.
3) Copy the file into the System/Library/Extensions folder. Finder will prompt you for an administrator password.
4) Make the extension file work:
Open Terminal and enter:
cd / {enter}
sudo chown -R root:wheel System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext/ {enter}
{type in your password and press enter}
sudo chmod -R go-w System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext/ {enter}
sudo kextload System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext/ {enter}
Wait a bit and you should see "Extension loaded successfully." If not, something went wrong.
Now, restart. (I think you can skip restarting by using the command "/usr/sbin/kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions")
When you open iTunes again, it should work. -

It appears like you may have a hardware issue with your ringer button and internal speaker that came to light after the update. If you have already restored your iPhone back to factory settings using iTunes, you may need to have your phone serviced.
Some potential good news... Check your headphone jack for lint. There may be enough to cause a muffled connection. You can try to blow it out with compressed air or very carefully pulling out any solid objects that may affect the connection.

IPod touch 5th gen. Home button stuck and power button not working! Please help!
I have an iPod 5th Generation and the home button is jammed down! It felt sticky earlier but now it's stuck down. I used it when the home button wasn't working and had to use my notifications to change from app to app (as I didn't know about assistive touch). I turned it off, but now the power button is no longer responsive! The button isn't stuck, but it doesn't work anymore. It was working fine before, but now it won't respond. Please help!

Backup and Restore app not functioning?

I just factory reset my z3 because stamina mode wasn't working and I wanted to give it a go to see if factory reset would work. I used the built in Backup and Restore app to backup my messages (conversations) to my SD card (everything else was backed up through Google already). Well, every time I hit the restore option it finds the file and acts like it is restoring, only to leave me with nothing. And every time I reset my phone it alerts me that a backup is detected and wants to do a restore.
Any ideas?Try to transfer this backup to internal storage and restore

IPhone home and lock buttons not working at all?
I got my iPhone 4 in October 2010. Since then I have accidentally dropped it on the floor and the back cracked, and in April 2011 I accidentally dropped it in a tub of paint. A bit silly, I know, but I managed to get all of the paint off quite easily and it was fine. However, at the end of last year, the home button started to malfunction and get stuck and just generally not work. In the past few weeks I've noticed I get trouble with it at least once a day and have to sit and press it until it works. Then, today, just out of nowhere, the lock/power button at the top of my phone just stopped working, it's stuck. I don't really have a way to wake my phone now unless I press the home button until it works, and I can't lock it anymore. I don't know whether it would be anything to do with the paint, considering it happened a year ago. Is there anything I can do to get it working again or do I need to take it to Apple?

1- Try rubbing your home button with alchohol ( or perfume ) in a circular motion for about 20 seconds
2 - do the same to ur power button ( from left to right and repeat ) for about the same duration
3- press and hold both your power and home button at the same time ..
... If this doesnt work try it one more time
If it doesnt respond after the second time i'm afraid u'll have to take it to an apple care center :(

Scroll pad works on and off, will not work on some menus. E key will work sometimes, usualt types an upper case E and not a lower case, will not type 2 E's in a row. Works ok when typing a 2. There were some other buttons giving issues a while ago and then it all went away and now this just started again out of nowhere. I tried backing up / wiping the phone, upgraded to the latest software and it is still giving me issues. The phone has never been exposed to any sort of moisture, I don't even use it in the rain.
Another issue, possibly related, possibly not is that I get 1 vertical line and 1 horizontal line in my photos I take. This started out happening sometimes and not other times but now it is constant.
Thanks for any help / suggestions you can give.Is the phone still under warranty? If so, I'd contact Sprint as this sounds like its probably a hardware issue (especially if updating the software didn't help). If the phone isn't under warranty any more, let us know and we'll see if there is anything we can come up with that could help.

Sounds like Recovery mode times out before the download is complete. Try the following method

Use the Step 5 update using iTunes instructions but download the iOS 8.2 firmware. Note that if you try to restore to earlier than iOS 8.2 you will only get errors
