Backup Assistant Failure on iPhone 4s - no contacts after 'success'

I recently upgraded to a new iPhone 4s and used backup assistant per Verizon's instructions. Yes, I turned of my wireless network access and it appeared to successfully transfer all my contacts. Gave me a 'success' msg with the number of contacts transfered. Problem is they are nowhere to be found in my phone contact list(s). When my son called me it came in as an unidentified number.
Any suggestions on how to recover my lost contacts? If I can't salvage this effort this will be the 2nd time I wasted effort on backup assistant. It has done nothing but waste my time.

If you do have contacts stored on backup assistant, go to backupassistant.vzw.com, select all contacts and export to csv file. Then import contacts to your email account through gmail/yahoo and use itunes to transfer your gmail/yahoo contacts into the iphone. That was the easiest way I could figure out on my own. Should help.

Every morning when I wake up, I have an alert on my Droid Razr M that says the backup assistant failed. So I delete some old contacts to make room so I don't have to pay for an upgrade. Same thing the next day. I look, and ALL the contacts I deleted have been re-populated to my phone! How do I get them to stay gone?

I want to ensure you have positive experience with Backup Assistant. Let's ensure your contacts back up at the time of removal. To backup current contacts head into Settings > Backup Assistant Plus > Backup Assistant plus Contacts > Sync Now.

Backup assistant failure. Anyone get this? Tried CS and they told me that there would be an update for this. Still waiting. 2 MONTHS NOW!!!!

Backup Assistant functionality has been troublesome from the start with the android phones. You might want to consider only using Google for your contact and remove any contacts from the Backup Assistant

Question about backup assistant app on Iphone 4s

My mom just gave me here Iphone 4s (I came from a dumbphone) and I had backup assistant on my old dumbphone, and my mom had backup assistant on her iphone, they verizon employee told me to wipe the iphone, download backup assistant app and sync so I don't get both her contacts and mine on the phone.
but I was wondering instead, if I could delete all her contacts and then run backup assistant instead of completely wiping the phone, would that work?

As I remember i never set a pasword and even if I have one pas for mos of the things but its not working. Why apple have to set a pasword for me, and why the haven't let the chance to reset the pas if forgoten? If someone have any clue how to fix this please let me know.

Backup Assistant issues?!? Deletes contacts from phone.

I love the fact that myverizon backs up all of the contact data from my phone, however since I have noticed recently that whenever my backup assistant backs up data it moves all of my contacts from my phone to the trash. I am able to get them back by removing them from the trash when I log into a computer. Is this happening to anyone else or is it a setting i have wrong somewhere? It removes the contacts from my phone and sends them to the trash on the cloud. Any way I can prevent this? its getting very frustrating when I wake up with no contacts. I have a Droid M, any suggestions would be helpful. I really don't want to have to switch providers again.

Don't use the Verizon backup option. Use the Google sync to backup your contacts.

Bug: Failure to Send emails from Contacts after 8.2 update

After updating to iOS 8.2 sending emails from Contacts may fail. I can consistently get the following failure on multiple iPad/iPhone devices:
Open Contacts, select any contact with a valid email address field, select the email address, and a “New Message” window will open. Type in any subject and the “Send” text will turn blue – this is as it should be. Select “Cancel”, “Delete Draft”.
Return to Contacts. Once again, select any contact with a valid email address field, select the email address, and a “New Message” window will open. Enter any “Subject” text. The “Send” text will never turn blue and you will never be able to send an email from the Contacts.
The only way to once again send an email from Contacts is to end the email app.
This problem did not occur before iOS 8.2.

PRESENT REALITY - I've had so many "issues" iPhone 4S @ Verizon with back up/ syncing/ performance it's mind boggling (and time consuming) and DOWN RIGHT ABUSIVE for Verizon / Apple to not address THEIR ISSUES. I used to think it was just me, a low techie, not knowing how to this/that BUT AFTER 6 MONTHS of seeking "HELP" from Apple, Verizon, and independent IT Pros and NONE GETTING IT n o n e REALLY? And now, I'm supposed to "buy" A PLAN to backup - back up WHAT? I have not added any significant data since signing on with Verizon, WHEN I CAME OVER TO VERIZON I had then in data (pics, videos, whatever!) what I have now. IT CAN'T BACK UP "not enough space, "MANAGE YOUR PLAN" hell it's not my plan to buy a "smartphone" that can't "THINK" …………… WHEN…………… I took my ORIGINAL 4S 64G (broken) to Verizon and said I need…. could they take a look at what I then had? what data?storage? and " " FROM THE POINT OF SALE" " diagnosed WHAT WOULD WORK & & & SERVE MY NEEDS. I offered to pay them for this service, they accepted my terms to collect billing and sell me a diePhone. Iphone 3G spontaneously rebooting after successful update to iOS4

Twice now, after a sucessful but very long (5.5hrs) update to iOS4 and restoration of files and settings, I have had my Iphone 3G reboot twice. I think it's running out of memory...but since there's not multitasking why would this be?
Anyone else suffering from this problem?

Fingers crossed indeed. I have done the same procedure as you and issue still occurs. Spontaneous reboot a couple of times per day. iPhone is no longer usable as such. I am now trying the 'auto brightness correction' turned off suggestion.
I did a downgrade to 3.1.3 but I suspect the baseband software which is NOT downgraded!

How can I restore contacts from Backup Assistant

My contact list has been corrupted. I have been using Backup Assistant for some time and want to restore my contacts from a previous backup.
Verizon seems to have changed BA since the last time I used it and the only function seems to be to take my corrupted contact list from my phone and store it. Any suggestions on recovering my non-corrupted contact list?

Here is a reply from a VW CS regarding the same question a few months back:
Click this link Backup Assistant (sign in) to check if contacts are available. You may sync directly from the site, by simply clicking sync on the right hand side (above contacts).
You may also try to sync by adding your G-mail account to the your device then go to Settings > Accounts & Sync > Ensure Sync is on for G-mail account. You may also select Auto-sync.

Where are my contacts in the Backup Assistant for Droid X????

I have a Motorola Android X2. I want to edit and delete some of my contacts. I get the message that says I cannot from my phone, but have to use the backup assistant online. However, the only contacts that show up online are the contacts I've added after I got my phone. Why are my contracts that were transferred from my old phone not there? I've tried multiple syncing and still only have 9 contacts and of course, the ones I want to change or delete are old ones. I see that you can import contacts, but how do you get a file from the phone to import? Any help would be appreciated.

Did the contacts from old phone get transferred at the store? Sounds like the contacts that you are having isssues with is stored on phone or from a Facebook or Tweeter account. Maybe you can go to phone dialer and select the contact tab / menu / export to get files exported to a cvs file and then copy to pc and import into Google.
BA is known for issues with smartphones.

How do I prevent icloud from overwriting my contacts when doing a restore backup from PC to iphone?

My icloud contact list is screwed up. I have my contact list in my PC backup. I've removed icloud from iphone AND changed apple ID and icloud ID, yet when I attempt to restore backup from PC to iphone, my correct contact list shows up momentarily, then reverts to the screwed up icloud contact list.
I understand that my PC backup is set to connect to icloud; however, one would think by removing the email address associated with apple or icloud that it would not be able to connect to icloud when I do a restore backup from PC to iphone. Yet each time I find icloud connected via my old email address after attempting the restore.
How do I fix this? This seems like an icloud bug, since it connects via my old email/ID.

The problem may be that the iphone is immediately syncing with icloud and losing the newly restored data. You might turn off your router. Once restored, turn off icloud on the device, turn on the router, then turn on the iphone.
(I'm going by memory on this, and that hasn't been too reliable lately.)

Printing Contacts List from Backup Assistant Webpage.

What is the trick to printing your contact list from the Backup Assistant webpage?
I selected all contacts, then selected "Select All Contact" then clicked Go.
I used no filters, and it shows I have selected all 156 contacts, but when I click on Go (to print), nothing happens. If I click Command P on my Mac, it just prints the 8 contacts on that page. There is no way to view all of my contacts at once, otherwise it would be easy to print them, but as it stands now, I would have to click on each Next Page to print them all, 8 contacts per page, meaning 19 pages...a colossal waste of paper.
Anybody have an idea on this?

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with printing your contacts! I definitely want to make sure you can get the details you need from your online contact info. Are you able to export the contacts instead? This may allow you to format them in a way you'd prefer to print them. http://vz.to/19joHKi

Just upgraded from Droid to LG Revolution. Backed up contacts on my old Droid and want to restore the contacts to my new LG Revolution using Backup Assistant. When I launch Backup Assistant, I have 4 options:

However, I have over 400 contacts on my phone. Is this because some of these contacts are linked with my Facebook or Google account? Is there a workaround?

VZW Backup Assistant will only back up contacts saved as phone contacts. It will NOT backup contacts saved as Google or Facebook.
