Backup Assistant on a phone I purchased from a friend

I liked my Razzle and could not find another in the Verizon store so I purchased my friends Uncles old one he no longer used. There was nothing wrong with it. I transferred my phone number to this phone and can use it and Verizon recognizes it as my phone and I get calls to my phone number.
My problem is trying to transfer my phone #s from my other phone. I backed them up. They are here on the Verizon site BUT when I try to transfer them to my "new" phone I get a box that says "the 3 for this phone has changed. Put in your code and hit ok. I do this but it says I have the wrong code. I do not BUT when I look on the bottom of the screen on my phone it still says the old phone # that use to belong to this phone! How do I get that to change? When I look up my # under phone info, my number it shows my correct #. It is just on this backup page that it will not change from the old number so i am not able to transfer my address book to my new phone. This is really annoying as I have too many #s to just plug them all in again.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know anything I can do to change the # on my backup so I can download my address book?

Try deleting the backup assistant from the phone and then reboot.  Then reinstall backup assistant, and when it asks for a password, tell it you need a new one....but use the same one you have had previously.  That tricks the phone into recognizing your account.
If that doesn't work, then send a Direct Message to Verizon Wireless Customer Support  for more help, or call customer service (800-922-0204 from a landline or other phone not connected with your account) and they can walk you through getting BUA installed and working on your phone.

    Well, unless you can get this info, all you'll own is a paperweight. So, return the phone & get your money back. There is no other solution.
    Apple can't/won't help you with this.

    An iPhone 4S can only be updated directly to iOS 8.1.2. You need to resolve the issue which prevents you from updating to it instead of attempting to install an intermediate version.

  • Backup Assistant seems to have deleted numbers from my phone

    I performed a backup with BA, and had 90 or so contacts on my phone and on the website.  Everything was fine for a few days, and I added two more contacts to my phone.  Then Monday I see my phone only has two numbers.  The two new ones. 
    The contacts are on the online BA, but I can't get them back on the phone.  I've tried the "Sync" button on the web site.  I've tried manually running BA on the phone 5 times (with an hour in between).
    What is going on?  How do I get the numbers back onto my phone?

    Does anyone else think this outage is lasting a bit too long? I lost my phone and figured it was no big deal because I used backup assistant. I simply bought a new phone. The sales guy at the verizon store said the system was down for a couple of hours and I could get my contacsts later that evening. I wouldn't have stayed with verizon if I new my contacts couldn't be retrieved. I had over 200 contacts. Who can I call to complain about this issue? Getting a stock response saying the system is down is not acceptable. I don't care if the info has to be mannually stripped from the servers and sent to our phones. arghhh.

  • Backup Assistant doesn't recognize PIN sent from phone....

    I've been trying to backup my Casio GzOne contacts.  I have been able to change the PIN from the phone keypad successfully, but when I try to do a backup I keep getting an Invalid PIN error.
    There are 39 pending contacts on the phone to backup.  If I select the "Sync to Phone" button on the Backup Assistant web site will BA pull those contacts from the phone and add them to the contact list on the web site, or will it push the contact list from the web site to the phone, causing the loss of the 39 contacts not backed up?
    I bought a new smartphone and need to transfer my contact list.

    I just had the same problem.  What I finally did on the old enV Touch was
    Go to "Media Center."
    Go to "Browse & Download"
    Scrolled down to "Backup Assistant" and clicked "Options."
    I did an "Upgrade Check," which allowed me to upgrade to the latest version.
    After that, my pin worked correctly.  Good luck!

    I had backup assistant on my Note 3 and could view the contacts online inbetween phones. Now after getting a different phone after I lost my Note 3 I can not even view my old contacts online.

    Did they get moved to the trash can online inadvertently?  If ater a couple days they don't populate on your my vzw.com tech support can open a trouble ticket to have them restored. Try the vcloud app to but sometimes it just takes a few days for the system to catch up after changing devices. I like to keep mine on my SD card,  in Google and backed to gcloud app just in case.  Once you get them back online export a csv copy to your Gmail that way you can just click sync contacts in settings and they'll come right down to phone

    I purchased a frist gen. iPad from a friend.  I find that it's using 5.1.1. and says that it's "updated" when I check.  Problem came when I tried to download my Netflix onto the ipad.  I keep getting the prompt that I must upgrade to iOS 6.  The netflix is 5.1 so I don't understand the problem.  My son also purchased a first gen. iPad and was able to download his netlifx account with no problem.  He got an option to "download a previous version".  I don't get that option and we have the same iPads - both running 5.1.1
    I read that there is a way around this problem but can't seem to locate a solution.  I've tried numerous times and always get the same prompt - that I must upgrade to iOS6.  Can anyone help me with this.  Using my Netflix was one of the main reasons I purcased the iPad.

    And they do offer a compatible version. As I am running running Netflix on my first generation iPad just fine.
    You'll need to first "purchase" the non compatible version  either on a newer device that can run it or on a computer running iTunes using the Apple ID that is on the first Gen iPad.
    After that is done, you should be able to go into the App Store App, and find Netflix under the Purchased Tab. Tap on it to download it and you should be warned its not compatible, but will be offered the compatible version.

    Apps are tied to the iTunes account, not the machine - even if you wanted to keep them, even if your friend "sold" the apps to you, you couldn't keep them. When you sync the computer to your own iTunes account, it will wipe out the existing apps and replace them with any tied to your iTunes account.

    I copied a load of tunes, purchased and copied from CD, etc to an I-pod nano and gave it to my friend as a present. I have since "lost" a lot of the tunes :0( when trying to transfer stuff to an external hard drive, nightmare..!! anyways, I am having no sucess re-copying the music back to my PC. The only option seems to be "Transfer Purchases" but I'm worried incase it wipes the rest of the songs from the i-pod. If anyone can help get my songs back I'd be most grateful. Music is Life...!!

    I did a similar move. I replaced my Itunes server with a new build. I successfully saved off the old Itunes folder to my Network Attached Storage box and later copied that archive from the NAS into My Music on the new Itunes server.
    The Itunes folder contained different types of data.
    For CDs I loaded DIRECTLY into Itunes, the data includes authorization to play the data - because Itunes verified that it was an origional CD that was played directly into Itunes.
    In a similar manner, if you have Itunes data that was purchased and downloaded from the Itunes Store, then you need to "Authorize" the computer with Itunes in order to play that Itunes Store procured data. This is the "you have done 3 of 5" authorization.
    Finally, for CDs that I loaded into my old server via Windows Media Player, when I did a consolidate in Itunes, it went out and found the WMP data on a disk I dedicated to WMP music files, and since it was authorized in WMP, Itunes would play it. When I went to the new server, Itunes had the Itunes version of the songs in its library, but would NOT play the songs that had been migrated into Itunes from WMP until I actually connected the hard drive with the WMP files on it so Itunes could satisfy itself that it has "autorized" copies of the music. As soon as I connected the Windows Media Player data drive, Itunes did a compare and updated the Itunes versions of the songs imported from WMP to authrized and plays them just fine.
    The alternative is to reload from the origional media.

  • Backup Assistant - (1 account, 4 phones of which 2 are smartphones with two backup assistants)

    My husband and I each have a smart phone on one account.  I have backup assistant and he has backup assistant.  When I log into the verizon account online and click on the menu bar above 'My Services' then Back up assistant, it only shows my husband's backup assistant as his phone is the primary number on the account.  Now, I have backup assistant and have sync'd my information and it has gone through successfully.  Why can I not see my backup assistant contacts on the website?  Why isn't there an option to select my different phone number (which is not the primary one) and see my backup assistant contacts?    What if we wanted to sync all 4 of the phones on our account and wanted to see each backup assistant listing for each?
    Please advise if there is a setting I may be missing or if this feature is/isn't available yet and if not, when will this be available as this is a necessary and required function for each phone number to see their backup listing under backup assistant.

  • Phone power-cycles every time I try to run Backup Assistant

    I have an LG Glance , and have been having trouble with Backup Assistant. It used to work great, automatically backing up my contacts every afternoon. For the last year or so, however, every time I have tried to run Backup Assistant it power-cycles. For a while this would happen, then if I immediately went back to Backup Assistant after it re-started it would launch, but it would never accept my PIN. I called Verizon support, they made sure I was using the right PIN (I as), they re-set my PIN (didn't work), and they had me un-install and re-install Backup Assistant (didn't work). Now it power-cycles every time I try to launch Backup Assistant, so I never even get a chance to try my PIN. I have tried to launch Backup Assistant while the phone is plugged in (thinking it might be a power problem), but it did the exact same thing. The contacts in my Backup Assistant online are now almost a year out-of-date, and I'm soon going to be switching phones.
    Any ideas about what I need to do to make Backup Assistant work again?

    It sounds like you've done all the troubleshooting you can. 
    When you reinstall Backup Assistant, and it asks for a PIN, and it won't accept yours - here's something else you can try that HAS worked for me, counter-intuitive as it seems to be.  Instead of using your existing PIN, choose the option to set up a NEW PIN - but then, put in your existing PIN anyway.  Somehow that re-connects - at least it did for me.
    You need to uninstall, reboot, and reinstall BUA, then, when going through the setup, choose NEW PIN.  Use your existing as the NEW PIN.
    If that doesn't work, a corporate store should be able to transfer your existing contacts from your current phone to your new device; my local store has done this for all of our recent upgrades.
