Backup Assistant: Online or not?

My husband and I recently upgraded our phones, which included Backup Assistant.  My phone says "to manage contacts, go to verizonwireless/backupassistant etc.".  But when I go there, I find it's only for the primary account holder's phone.  Mine is an additional line.
So, why does my phone say to go to the website to manage contacts when it seems I can't do that?

  • Accessing Backup Assistant online

    I am having difficulty access Backup Assistant online with my computer..I am trying to manage My Contacts..exactly what procedure do I use with the pc to access My Contacts in Backup Assistant...all previous attempts have led me to a page with instructions on how to download Assistant on iPhones, Blackberry's, etc and will not let me continue... I know they are having issues with Backup Assistant as I am typing this, 8:19 AM, CST, 3-10-2012.
    Your input in the matter would be greatly appreciated.. as it is now, Backup Assistant is completely useless to me..

    I have figured out a way to use the SD card and my computer to save and download/upload contacts, pictures, etc without using Backup Assistant.. I am also told by Verizon that there are issues with Backup Assistant as I type, 1:44 PM, CST, 3-10-2012,  which is why I am having difficulty access Backup Assistant online with the computer...have things under control, no assistance needed at this time..

    Oops!  Make sure you've downloaded Backup Assistant to device . You can only view contacts for the number that is currently signed in. If you're trying to access Backup Assistant for other lines on your account, please sign off and sign in with that number.
    I am signed in with the correct phone and it is installed.  Please help!

  • Backup Assistant and birthdates not saving correctly

    I have been lucky and figured out I needed to have my own sign-in for my phone in order to have Backup Assistant work with a family plan (I'm not the primary).  And the first couple of times I tried it I got weird messages.  But I hung in there and it paid off and now it works like a charm.  Except - I am using it as a total backup for my address book and when I put in birth dates the "day" is saved as one day off.  When I discovered it on the first entry I thought it was my mistake - but not all of them.  I keep going back in to correct it but it's not holding all of them.  What's the problem?

    I have one contact, that the same thing occurs. Deleted them, loaded them via the BA site instead of the phone and always a day and a year off.

  • Can I view the contents of Backup Assistant online in my Verizon Wireless account?

    I have a Verizon Wireless Backup Assistant enabled on my phone which does a scheduled backup of contacts to VZ Cloud. I would like to know if there is a feature wherein I can manage my address directly on the cloud through the webpages and that would apply to my device in its next scheduled sync. 

    backup file is meant to be restored to phone when in need, so it is not designed to be viewed in PC. (this is obviously because it contains contacts, calendar items, settings, pictures etc., so there is no simple way to view such diverse data in PC just by double clicking one file open.
    You can open the backup file with notepad, but you will se that it is cribble, if you look really carefully and are desperate to find say contacts in the middle of everything, you can scroll and look for that certain data.
    If you like to view the contents, you should use Image Store to move pictures, File Manager can do that too(sync gallery to PC) and file manager also syncronises SMS's and contacts to PC in readable format.
    You did not describe what you actually are after, so here are just my thoughs.Message Edited by manta on 23-May-2006

    Someone on my plan dropped her phone in water and I guess it's really messed up. She also was dropping Verizon to go to another company and pay the bill themselves. Anyways is there a way to access backup assistant thru my account so I can print out the #s that were on that phone. So then they don't have to ask everyone all over again?

    You (or she) would need to log in with HER phone number to access her backed up contacts.  Once logged in with her phone number, go to My Verizon, My Device, Backup Contacts.  When you are on the screen with her contacts listed (hopefully they are there), follow the steps given in this post:

  • My backup assistant plus is not backing up all ao my contacts.  My Lumia Icon has twice as many contacts as your cloud.  The sync process says successful.

    Not being able to save all of your contacts can prove to be very frustrating and we do want to help you get this working ASAP. Are you getting any error messages at all when you try to save them via back up assistant plus? Have you made any changes recently to your device at all? Please share some additional details so that we can assist you further.

  • Add multiple contacts to Backup Assistant online

    Is it possible to import more than one contact vcard at one time. I want to add several contacts and doing it one at a time is tedious.

    Hi Granny! If you're still working on this project, then I can offer some advice! Yes, you should be able to import all of your contacts en masse, and I can tell you how! First I need to know what program are you importing from, and what program you are trying to export to. Can you help me with that? 

  • How do I transfer contacts from my lost phone(note3) to my new temp phone(droid mini) when I had backup assistant on old phone?

    I had backup assistant on my Note 3 and could view the contacts online inbetween phones. Now after getting a different phone after I lost my Note 3 I can not even view my old contacts online.

    Did they get moved to the trash can online inadvertently?  If ater a couple days they don't populate on your my vzw.com tech support can open a trouble ticket to have them restored. Try the vcloud app to but sometimes it just takes a few days for the system to catch up after changing devices. I like to keep mine on my SD card,  in Google and backed to gcloud app just in case.  Once you get them back online export a csv copy to your Gmail that way you can just click sync contacts in settings and they'll come right down to phone

Backup assistant plus is not as stable or as easy to use as Google. Just set up a Google account if you don't have one already (and I'm sure you do) .  Give it a try

    I have a Motorola Android X2. I want to edit and delete some of my contacts.  I get the message that says I cannot from my phone, but have to use the backup assistant online.  However, the only contacts that show up online are the contacts I've added after I got my phone.  Why are my contracts that were transferred from my old phone not there?  I've tried multiple syncing and still only have 9 contacts and of course, the ones I want to change or delete are old ones. I see that you can import contacts, but how do you get a file from the phone to import? Any help would be appreciated.

    Did the contacts from old phone get transferred at the store?   Sounds like the contacts that you are having isssues with is stored on phone or from a Facebook or Tweeter account.   Maybe you can go to phone dialer and select the contact tab / menu / export to get files exported to a cvs file and then copy to pc and import into Google.
    BA is known for issues with smartphones.

  • Backup Assistant problems

    So I signed up for backup assistant with my new phone. Then proceeded to load in all my old #s on the new phone. I did not use backup assistant like I could have on my old phone because I had already deactivated it. Was in a hurry to get the new one going, and never read the directions all the way.
    So now I go to use Backup Assistant online, shouldn't all my contacts be showing up on here? All that is coming up when I did it was the default contacts that are on the phone already. What is going on here? I tried to even add a new contact on my online account then sync it. This made the phone say it had transferred 70 with 0 pending. Nothing different showed up on my online account for some reason.
    Did I totally mess this up or what?

    I got it working now so I can see my contacts online. But in my phone I had one contact with no # so I edited it in. Now it automatically like put in 2 contact files for the same #. I delete one then it takes the info off the other one so it is just a blank contact. I can't just delete the darn thing and have 1.
    Heres an example if that above confuses anyone.
    So basically I'll have say  John Adams. I do something with backup assistant, then it puts 2 files for John Adams. I delete one John Adams, then it leaves the other one blank and no info in it. I go to delete that it says erased, but it is not gone from the phone. I even tried to put in a whole new name for that blank file, say Mike Johnson. It changes it but it leaves it in alphabetical order where John Adams should be. M and J are totally different so whys it doing this.
    All in all I just want to have one file for a number and not have it create a 2nd one by itself. UGH!!
