Backup causing issues... media object is invalide

I posted another question in the Destop Software section, but here's the story.
I had to install a new hard drive in my computer.  Reistalled Win7 etc.
Reinstalled BB Desktop Manager.
Backed up my 9800.
After today's back up, my BBM contacts were deleted.  I posted this in the other thread.
Now I have also discovered that I cannot send images to BBM contacts.  I took a picture, and could not send it.  I get a warning message that says "The media object is invalid'
What is going on with my BBM?

Hi bbjohnm
I have no clue why your Contacts are wiped during a device backup, But if we do a Backup of your device it will not delete any Contact list unless we do something wrong.
If you are using BBM prior to ver. 7 then it does allow a local backup , you can backup your contacts on your media card . So when you open BBM > Press Menu key > Options > Scroll to Backup or Restore , > You can restore if you are using that option to backup locally.
Regarding your issue with sending Images through BBM, Are you unable to send Images or that Send Option is not available . Related to the error that you are getting while sending Images :
KB28033 :  "Media object is invalid" error when trying to send picture to a BlackBerry Messenger contact.
Try this KB and see if that help in resolving your issue or do a local backup of your BBM Contact that you have currently, then try Updating to BBM6.2 , TO do that from your BlackBerry browser browse to or Click here
 http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?code=bbm6 to download BBM6.2
So please try it and let us know of your progress. You can also Update to BBM 7 if you want .
Click " Like " if you want to Thank someone.

  • Will Log Backup cause issue?

    Hi Experts,
we have been getting complaints from application users about slowness on and off. tried all the ways, no clues. finally, one business user is helping me with the exact timings of slowness in the application. the trend is exactly at the time of log backup
happening time. log backups are completing in less 30 sec. even the slowness is only at that time.
Now I didn't understand, will log backups cause slowness to the databases access? I believe, full backups will cause a bit.
    please help.
    thanks in advance
    Vinod Mallolu
    Cheers, Vinod Mallolu

    Hi Vinod,
It really depends on I/O subsystem and your server configuration. For example:
Poorly performing I/O subsystem can cause poor during log backups.
Poor performance can occur if your database log drive is same as your backup drive. If you are using SAN then make sure that both drives are not commissioned from same LUN.
Transaction Log activity and the size of your log files. If your database is highly transactional database than you should experience some slowness if you are performing Log backups. If you are using SQL Server 2012 or about with Enterprise edition and
have standby server than use Availability Groups to offload your transaction log backups.
Increasing the frequency of log backup also helps.
I hope this information is useful for you to rectify the issue.

  • Problem: Objects become invalid so easily

    Hi All,
We are running Oracle 9i Standard Edition, which was downgraded from the Enterprise Edition, because they want to save $50K/year.
I have noticed even in the enterprise edition that some objects (sprocs, functions, triggers, packages) could become invalid for no reason (no schema changes and no changes in some sprocs/functions called by some others). I have googled this problem and found a few tips on the the internet and at least one seasoned DBA said Oracle objects can become invalid for no obvious reasons. After the downgrade, things got worse. The DBA runs a script to compile all packages, sprocs, functions, triggers once every hour. Then things got even worse. But I think the DBA script did not run more than once in a row to resolve some dependency issues. So now the DBA runs his script every two minutes. The problem is gone, but is there any better way to do this? Or should it happen in the first place? I figure that if Oracle runs like this, it should be out of business soon, because the MS SQL guys say they never have to explicitly re-compile invalid obejcts. At first the DBA thought that when PowerBuilder calls the sprocs, the sprocs do not re-compile because Sybase does not know how to program against Oracle. Then one day I was using SQL*Plus to run the sprocs and got the explicit error message for invalid objects and then the DBA was convinced otherwise.
    Thanks.
    Ben

Thanks a lot. Yes you are right. The re-complie did cause other objects to be invalid. that's why I asked to dba to run his script more than once in a row. Now the problem seems to be gone. But here is what I found at http://www.dbazine.com/oracle/or-articles/hordila2. It is true when a package or sproc becomes invalid, they often times do not auto re-compile. See his comments on that.
Application Malfunctions and Data InconsistenciesPart of maintaining quick response times for the database is making sure that as many objects as possible have a valid status. At least frequently used objects should not be invalid. Some objects (views, triggers, procedures, functions, packages, package bodies) can become invalid under certain circumstances: after massive data loads, imports, batches, even without explicit schema changes, after schema restructuring (drop, re-name, alter of objects). Very often, developers leave behind on purpose lots of invalid objects, to serve as a library of source code for future needs, or as a source code backup for the production objects. Some of these events are thought of as normal, or maybe bad style, while others are treated as bugs.
Anyway, if this happens, applications may stop working at all or may start working slower, incorrectly or incompletely. Mal-functioning triggers calling invalid procedures, etc., for example, can lead to data inconsistencies, missed data propagation, etc. In a complex system, this is a serious situation and may go undetected for some length of time.
Failed RecompilingFor some objects (views, triggers), the Oracle system may attempt automatically to recompile and validate them at the first run. This will slow the first runs of the application, but the system will function correctly, and be faster on the next runs. For stored programs, most of the time, this auto-recompile does not happen. The DBA needs to detect and recompile them as soon as possible.
Some objects need to be re-developed/edited for references to be successfully recompiled and to become valid again. And other objects may

  • Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found problem

    Hello,
Yesterday I got the following error on the server: "object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found problem".
I found this documentation, followed the steps and all was OK on the server:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2703186/en-us
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/e94f2fc3-71f1-4dad-bbf1-37f906e28e8e/object-library-invalid-or-contains-references-to-object-definitions-that-could-not-be-found?forum=exceldev
Our server is used to do batch processing for refreshing our excel's. This morning, after the excel's got refreshed on the server, I've got this error on the
client computers (everything works fine on the server computer). I did the steps above on the client computers, but the problem still persists.
It looks like there is a difference in version between server and client.
If I do the refreshing on the same computer there is no problem. But when the server does the refreshing and I try to open it on a different computer, I get this error.
The security update has been removed from the computer, but I can't use my excel's anymore.
Does any one have some advice for me?
    Best regards,
    Wouter

    Hi Wouter,
    Thanks for the further explaintation.
According to the description, the issue seems that the Workboook on the client side(with lower Excel version) couldn't run the VBA after it opened by server(higher version Excel application).
If I understood correctly, that sounds that the issue is relative to the specific version of Excel product or the updates.
I suggest you contacting Microsoft support to raise an incident so that our engineer could work closely with him to identify the root cause and resolve this issue as soon as possible.
If the support engineer determines that the issue is the result of a bug the service request will be a no-charge case and you won't be charged.

I've heard some cases that even deleting EXD files and running the FixIt tools, ActiveX controls weren't working.
Can you confirm if you can insert ActiveX controls in your worksheet, please?

  • Can too large a folder cause issues and effect performace of my Mac Pro

Hi, I have a 180 gb folder filled with important data within my Home folder. This folder has a many subfolders as well. The folder is on my startup drive and where I have Snow Leopard installed. Can too large a folder cause issues with my mac and effect performance? Thanks

another way to ask, would you make better use of, and improve I/O and performance, if you used your other drive bays? yes.
Boot drives with even less than 50% free is probably not a good idea. All depends on whether 200GB is on 1TB or on 500GB drive. And how fragmented free space even.
Lifting, loading and writing or copying 4GB files of course does have an impact, so if you work with 2GB files in CS5....
Having a dedicated type boot drive, media drive (and isolate media and library files) as well as scratch drive is normally done with Mac Pro.
The biggest bang in performance: lean mean SSD boot drive.

    Hi Kwlee324,
Thanks for sharing the workaround with us. It would be very helpful for others who have the same issue.
Also I found a two useful links about the error message "Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found":

  • Compile error: Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found

Office Online 365 installed today January 20 on brand new HP Envy. Get the above message when loading Excel applications with code and when running code. Will greatly appreciate help. Applications run well on other computers.

    Hi Jaime,
    >> Get the above message when loading Excel applications with code and when running code. Will greatly appreciate help. Applications run well on other computers.
    >> Compile error: Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found
According to the error message, it seems some ActiveX control is not registered successfully on the new machine.
Would you mind telling us which ActiveX controls you used in the workbook?
    >> For my applications Excel from Office 365 is now useless. Should I just let my subscription run out and purchase another version?
According to my experience, this issue is not related to the subscription.
    Regards,
    Jeffrey

  • JDE media object in CR

Using CR to design reports from JD Edwards Enterprise 1 on Oracle DB. Connecting to Edwards via Oracle tools. We have created reports but want to include media objects from JDE in report. Have seen some instructions on how to access data in the media object table in E1 and include in a sub-report. The issue is when we try to map the media object BLOB data to the GDTXFT in CR. It is defined as a picture. Is there a way to change the definition on GDTXFT or is there a better way to access JDE media objects for reports. We a using CR v10.

Might inserting it as an OLE Object -> Media Clip be an option?  I've not done this myself, but seems plausible...

  • Javascript Error! Error number: 45 error string: Objects is invalid line: 387, Line 428

I am running Indesign CS3 on an XP computer. I installed a plugin for barcodes from teacup Software, Barcodemaker for Indesign CS3 win and this has crashed my Indesign CS3.
Everytime I startup I get this Javascript error! Error number: 45 Error string: objects is invalid line: 387 I hit enter and iget the same message line: 428.
The adobe knowledge base has a message http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402389&sliceId=2
I can't find the file Pluginconfig.txt on my computer to delte as suggested in this article. Can anyone help with this issue.
I have uninstalled the plugin and I have try to repair/reinstall my copy of Indesigh CS3 version 5.0.4 but it still is not possible to use Indesign.
Has anyone encoutered this problem? Can you tell me where to find this file Pluginconfig.txt.

    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 5.0\Caches\InDesign Recovery
This is a hidden folder, so you'll need to set Explorer to show hidden files if you haven't already. Start by just renaming the folder to _InDesign Recovery and it should rebuild on the next launch if this is going to work. If it doesn't work, you won't have lost anything.
Might work even better if you were to try a system restore, however. Do you have a restore point from before the plugin was installed?
