Without debugging, it's impossible to say exactly why things are failing.  However, based on the errors, I would double-check the DCR credentials for these devices and make absolutely sure you can connect to them using the DCR credentials from the LMS server.  You can confirm this by exporting the records for these devices from Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management.  If SSH should be the protocol that works, also try telneting to the device from the LMS server on TCP port 22.  You will get an SSH version string back.  Make sure it is one of 1.5, 1.99, or 2.0.
The timeout problem could be symptomatic of another bug.  Restarting ConfigMgmtServer (pdterm ConfigMgmtServer/pdexec ConfigMgmtServer) may help.  The fact that the job timeout resets to the default means there is a problem with your regdaemon.xml file.  If you post this file, I can fix it for you.

  • Why HTTP 404 Page not Found when trying to Backup Configuration?

    Good day:
I bought this RV082 VPN Router.  After configuring it, I tried to save its configuration using the System Management's Backup Utility.  When I set everything up and ready to proceed, as I click on the Backup Configuration button, I get this Page Not Found error.
After several additional retries, and cold startup of my laptop, I still get this.
Then I wondered, "Why don't I try to upgrade the firmware instead?".
Guess what: I get the same page not found error.
Can anyone tell why is this?  Using Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    Thanks in advance!
    Javier.
P.S. I have replied to another thread about not getting connected with Quick VPN to the RV082, which is another painful trouble I've got with it.

    Hi Rybak,
    Thanks for your reply.
Try to clean the Cache for TFS 2013 manually(delete the content of the folder only, not the cache folder itself):
Clean the Cache folder on Server machine. The folder path is:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 12.0\Application Tier\Web Services\_tfs_data.
After cleaned, on Server machine, click Start and select
Run… to open the dialog box, then input iisreset.exe and click OK, wait it run completely.
If clean Cache cannot resolve this issue, please try to repair your TFS 2013 Update 4 Server, then check the result.
Additionally, you can run TFS 2013 Power Tools BPA to scan the installation of your TFS Server.

  • Backup configuration missing from ASDM

Having a problem with an ASA5520 system in that Backup and Restore configuration option under the ASDM Tools menu is not displayed/available.  Any ideas as to why this is?  ASDM version supports it as far as I can see.  Further details:
    - ASDM/ASA versions of ASA5505 and ASA5520 system are:
    ASDM Version 7.1(3)
    ASA Version 9.1(2)
    Java 1.7.0_45
    - User logging in with is a Priv 15 user.
    - Only when system context is selected, under the Tools menu "System Reload" is available along with File Management, Downgrade Software etc. but no Backup Configuration or Restore Configuration.
    - If same ASDM client is used with ASA5505 instead of ASA5520, the Backup Configuration and Restore Configuration options display just below "Downgrade Software" and backup and restore work.
    - If try to access ASDM via a different system with different version of Java etc. same problem.

Your mention of system context gave the clue.
Backup and restore from ASDM is only available when the firewall is running in single context mode. Reference.

I've a problem with the backup configuration file (CISCO RV042) . The result file (startup.config) isn't the actually configuration but the factory file?

    Hello dviolant1,
Exactly what is the factory file you are referencing?
    IOS?
The default backup file name is Startup.config, so the file name you referenced is the correct name.
Link below points to a knowledgebase for the RV042 router, which includes steps for backup and restore.

  • CC12c Backup Configurations

    Hi all,
I'd like to schedule a full system backup of my CC12c infrastracture as well as the repository (which is all running on one server).
For that I found a procedure in Enterprise -> Provisioning and Patching -> Procedure Library called
System Backup (v1.0, Backs up multiple databases, files, and directories in one operation.)
When I click Launch it opens a wizard but with pop-up error saying:
A backup configuration is required to perform a backup. To create a backup configuration, exit this wizard and select Backup Configurations in the menu.
But of course whe I exit this wizard, there is no Backup Configurations in the menu.
I've searched everywhere to find some solution but nothing..
    Can you please help?

  • Oracle DB and File system backup configuration

    Hi,
As I understand from the help documents and guides, brbackup, brarchive and brrestore are the tools which are used for backing up and restoring the oracle database and the file system. We have TSM (Trivoli Storage manager) in our infrastructure for managing the backup centrally. Before configuring the backup with TSM, I want to test the backup/restore configuration locally i.e. storing the backup to local file system and then restoring from there. Our backup strategy is to have full online backup on the weekends and incremental backup on the weekdays. Given this, following are the things, I want to test.
    1. Full online backup (to local file system)
    2. Incremental online backup (to local file system)
    3. Restore (from local file system)
I found help documents to be very generic and couldn't get any specific information for the comprehensive configuration to achieve this. Can someone help with end to end configuration?
We are using SAP Portal 7.0 (NW2004s) with Oracle 10g database hosted on AIX server.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded
    Regards,
    Chandra

Thanks for your feedback. I am almost clear about this issue now, except one point need to be confirmed: do you mean that on linux or unix, if required, we can set "direct to disk" from OS level, but for windows, it's default "direct to disk", we do not need to set it manually.
And I have a further question: If a database is stored on a SAN disk, say, a volume from disk array, the disk array could take snapshot for a disk on block level, we need to implement online backup of database. The steps are: alter tablespace begin backup, alter system suspend, take a snapshot of the volume which store all database files, including datafiles, redo logs, archived redo logs, controll file, service parameter file, network parameter files, password file. Do you think this backup is integrity or not. please note, we do not flush the fs cache before all these steps. Let's assume the SAN cache could be flushed automatically. Can I think it's integrity because the redo writes are synchronous.

what is best configuration strategy for rman backup.AND BACKUP WITH RECOVERY CATALOG OR WITHOUT RECOVERY CATALOG
    PLEASE TELL ME
Edited by: afzal on Feb 26, 2011 1:45 AM

For simply two databases, there really wouldn't be a need for a recovery catalog. You can still restore/recover without a controlfile and without a recovery catalog.
    From this:
    afzal wrote:
CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY window of 14 days.I am assuming you want to keep two weeks worth of backups, therefore these:
    alter system set control_file_record_keep_time=15 days;
CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY window of 14 daysShould be:
    RMAN> sql 'alter system set control_file_record_keep_time=22';
RMAN> CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 14;22 would give you that extra layer of protection for instances when a problem occurs with a backup and you want to ensure that data doesn't get aged out.

  • Need help scripting the Essentials Server Backup configuration in PowerShell

I'm trying to write a PowerShell script that automates the setup and configuration of the Server Backup feature within WS2012 R2 Essentials. There are a number of cmdlets for defining the backup source files and target location such as add-wssbackuptarget,
    add-wssbackupvolume, new-wssbackuptarget, etc.
These cmdlets all have a required -Disk parameter and I can't for the life of me figure out the syntax for it. I've tried the disk ID, drive letter, LUN, volume label, and disk number. All of the examples in the help files are using variables instead of
explicitly entering a value; I've tried using the example scripts and those fail too.
    So here's a quick example:
    Get-WssBackupPolicy | Add-WssBackupVolume -Disk ??
I obviously need more parameters than that but the point is, no matter what other parameters I type and no matter what I enter for the value of -Disk, I always get "Cannot bind parameter 'Disk'. Cannot convert the "D:\" (or whatever I've entered)
value of "System.String" to type "Microsoft.WindowsServerSolutions.DataProtection.ServerBackup.ObjectModel.BackupDisk".
And like I said in the opening paragraph, I get that same error for any and all cmdlets that use the -Disk parameter. Does anyone know how to properly structure format the -Disk value?
    Thanks

Don't worry I wasn't sure as well, I had to raise a SR to understand it too!
I have a similar set up to yours and have webutil working successfully.
What you need to do is to install and configure your application server on unix for webutil as well as windows.
From your post I see you are already reading the docs. Within chapters 2 and 3 both of which are titled "configuring web util", you will see points that refer to the application server, these are the ones that you need to follow.
    Good luck

  • RoboHelp HTML 10. Need to see, save, or backup configurations

I just took over a technical writing position. The previous person was here for seven years and set up and configured RoboHelpl heavily. Of course, the program resides on the C drive of a computer, and so is not backed up. I (and IT) are terrified of a system failure that would put us back to scratch, since many of the last guy's documented processes wouldn't work on a new install without all the magic he added. I am a temporary standin between him and someone else who will take over in 6 months, so I shouldn't change very much. I just want to preserve what is....and perhaps document it all a little better.
I haven't worked with RoboHelp in over ten years, but still had more experience in it than any other candidates, but I want to be careful about messing with it. Where is the configuration located and how can we best preserve it for the next person to worry about?  A lot of crucial company information is stored in RoboHelp, and we do back up the database to a location that is backed up regularly, although, even though I'm using Terra Copy, some files are being skipped in the copy process. But that's another problem.
Thanks for any help or suggestions of places to look for these answers

    Hi there
RoboHelp should be installed to the local C drive like any other application usually is. Nothing special to "configure" as far as that goes.
When you open RoboHelp, you then open a "Project". Normally we advise to place the project files on the local drive as well, with periodic backup copies to a server for disaster recovery.
When you have a project open in RoboHelp 10, try right-clicking either the HTML Files (Topics) or the Project Files (it may present using either set of terms, depending on what has been clicked), Then choose Explore. That should drop you into Windows Explorer at the project location. What you need to back up are all the files and folders you find in that location.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Ciscoworks backup configuration routers and switches

Re: How to configure configuration backup in CiscoWorks
Go to RME - Admin - Config Management
From there you can edit your Transport, Archive and Collection Settings.
Once this is done everything should be setup for config collection.
hey, i am trying to configure automaticaly backup.
i added the equipment to RME some is grey and some is good.
    RME>Administration>Config Managment
there: Archive location : here some directory
then i go to, Collection Settings and make Periodic Polling and Periodic Collection . Enable and Schedule to 5 minutes from now
then i wait like 20 minutes no backup was created in the directory i choose, plus- does it backup everything in the rme ? or should i somewhere mark
    the devices i wanna backup
    thanks in advance
    Ben

the folders exist in the location you mentioned
    shadow > primary,vlan etc..
, but i'll check cause it might have been created with the admin account which opened an account for me.
as for your question i'm using version LMS2.6
theres the server itself users and theres the ciscoworks user under Security,
how do i ensure that the user can write over that folder?
as for the equipment(grey) i believe it's an snmp community mismatch, that is not important i'll fix that just after i manage to make a config backup.
the main question is, is Collection backup the entire equipment that exist in the rme devices or i have to pick.
Thank you very much for your time
    Ben.
